#1 Note how Scientists don't say it's 100% sure, but damn near, and that's not good enough for the UN. Be nice if they were as skeptical of the AGW scientists against whom there are mountains of negative evidence.

The UN, bringing the 3rd world disasters home to the comfortable.

#2 The only and I mean ONLY way to get cholera is to drink water that people have shit in. That's the ONLY way. Cholera is a bacteria that is highly susceptible to all of the common disinfection techniques. Boiling water will quickly kill cholera. Anyone who contracts cholera is drinking shitwater.

Haiti is 98% deforested, and most of it (~90%) has no power. Still, it's clear, from the fact that the population hasn't experienced mass starvation, that Haitians are using some kind of fuel for cooking, which could also be used for boiling water. On the assumption that if someone can afford food, he can also afford fuel, I suspect people just need to be educated about basic hygiene.
