#1 Swedish history is a whole lot different than Sweden is today. At times they were militarily aggressive, authoritarian, oppressive to the point of murderous, had their fair share of nanny-statism, theocracy, wealth and grueling poverty, as are still looked at by the other Norse countries as at least a little unpredictable and dangerous.

There are very good reasons that many Swedes came to the US to get away from that.

SWEDEN's role took place at a time when many nations in Europe were vying for control of the continent; + ata time when SLAVERY + INDENTURED BONDAGE [aka at best as "autonomous slavery"], WHITE ANDOR NON-WHITE, WAS STILL LEGAL.
