#2 In 2006, the Mexican death toll in their drug war was 2,000. Already this year it is about 1,500. A few days ago, much was made about the drug gangs sending assassins North to kill competitors in the US.

Hah. That's been going on for over a decade now. There's a patch of desert in West Phoenix that is looking like a toxic waste dump in New Jersey because of all the dead bodies found there. Almost all execution style and in shallow graves, or no graves at all.

When the count hit 35, the local papers stopped reporting it. Bad for tourism.
