However apropos it may be, I do believe the author meant to use the word "bargaining" instead of "bickering." The entire article is utterly void of any relevance due to its attempts at ignoring the principal reason for Iran's relative lack of economic success.

Having a government that oppresses its own people and overtly sponsors the very worst forms of international terrorism makes Iran a global pariah.

This is the problem, not "long distance, lack of enough knowledge about the Iranian market and high tariffs." It's murdering people with bomb vests, truck bombs and other anti-civilian weapons that is at issue. So long as Iran remains incapable of admitting this to themselves, their ultimate destination is history's scrapheap. As it stands, their current obsession with nuclear weapons may get them a free ticket to history's glass recycling bin.
