#6 I would not presume to diagnose the professor but they gotta be some kind of nuts. Incarceration in a rubber room might be the best treatment.

#8 Don't fall for it. All that's happening is they're not renewing his contract once it expires. He gets close to six months salary, likely won't be assigned any classes, and he will land at another school.
