The Gruesome Reality of Racist South Africa

#1  Notice how none of this is ever spoken of by the Champ or anyone on the left? Also note the massive amount of press the spoiled, murdering rat Oscar Pistorius is getting.

#2  I said it long ago when this was happening in Zimbabwae and the head of South Africa made sympathetic sounds towards Bob. Any white fellow in South Africa should be seriously considering moving pronto.

Australia and the US should make it easy for them to come and avoid the genocide.

#3  The scuttlebutt is, when Mandela dies, it'll be open season.

#4  I could be tragically wrong, but I believe Madiba's passing will come and go with little if anything changing. Due to extremely high crime and government enforced Black Economic Empowerment (BEE) the brain drain continues. While not openly advertised or discussed, white engineers, managers, and medical professionals are highly sought after by hiring managers in municipalities, industry, and business.

A parallel might be found in Atlanta. Here, if you want high quality, professional masonry and stone work done... find an amigo. Been that way for years. Nearly everyone brings something to the game.

#5  I agree wid #3 - in the absence of any unity on the part of its various peoples I anticipate SA to devol + break-up into smaller race-based sovereign States than as at present.

#6  the brain drain continues

Not just brain drain of trained workers. I've met several offspring sent abroad for university or to work as au pairs, who were told by their parents to find some way to settle abroad. The parents felt they couldn't leave, for whatever reason, but the insisted on giving their children a chance. Much like what the Copts have been doing, in fact.

Enemy combatants have right to remain silent?

#1  I would say we have the right to make them silent. Permanently.

#2  I would say it would be a valid survival strategy.

As for right.... you are an enemy combatant. You have no rights.

India-Pakistan
The silent spectator -- Attack on Christians
[Dawn] HOMES are burned, religious paraphernalia destroyed, residents terrorised, a country's already tattered reputation for looking after its own further damaged. And the Punjab government just stood by and let it all happen in the provincial capital of the country's largest, richest, most powerful province. If that was not staggering enough, early reports suggest that it was the police that told the Christian residents of the small neighbourhood in Badami Bagh to evacuate because they feared an attack -- the night before it actually occurred.
Given that there was no way the police were going to stop the rampaging Muslim mob, warning the Christians to leave was an act of kindness that no doubt saved many lives.
Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has belatedly swung into action, suspending police officials, promising immediate relief to the victims of the mob and making all the usual noises. But there's a more important fact here, and it may give an indication of what will come next: as also highlighted by the media in the wake of the Badami Bagh attack, no one has been held to account for the devastation wrought on another Christian community in Punjab several years ago, in Shantinagar. The past, in incidents such as these, will almost surely be repeated in the present, particularly with electoral considerations dominating political thinking at the moment.

Also sobering is the growing track record of the PML-N when it comes to mob violence against Christians during the party's watch: Shanti-nagar, Gojra and now Badami Bagh. For mob violence to break out in Lahore in this day and age, when the provincial government is touting metro buses and laptop schemes and 'futuristic' solutions to the province's myriad problems, is a measure of perhaps just how misplaced the PML-N's priorities are. Of course, the PML-N will point to this being a national malaise and the fact that Dadu district in Sindh recently saw a man burned to death by a mob after he was accused of blasphemy underlines the reality that it is not just a 'Punjab' problem.

All of that would only obfuscate the mishandling of the latest situation. When in Lahore recently another Christian community was besieged by right-wing activists celebrating the conversion of a Hindu boy, the Punjab government used a combination of local political and police influence to defuse the situation and bring an end to the provocative demonstrations. What was the Punjab government doing overnight after the blasphemy charged had been raised and tensions spiralled? The chief minister, known to be a micro manager, needs to explain why his administration was so passive. Complicity or incompetence, it's a question being raised distressingly often of Pakistan's institutions.
Why yes, yes it is. Although it's got to the point where that is the answer, not the question.

#1  The new Pope should make it a high priority to write to leaders in the Moslem world about this. It won't do much good but at least it will get the world to notice it.

Government
Community Organizing Bad Decisions and Hope and Change Crossed Fingers
DETROIT — This city was already sinking under hundreds of millions of dollars in bills that it could not pay when a municipal auditor brought in a veteran financial consultant to dig through the books. A seasoned turnaround man and former actuary with Ford Motor Co., he was stunned by what he found: an additional $7.2 billion in retiree health costs that had never been reported, or even tallied up.

“The city must take some drastic steps,” the consultant, John Boyle, warned the City Council in delivering his report at a public meeting in 2005. Among the options he suggested was filing for bankruptcy.

“I thought all hell would break loose — I thought the flag would finally be raised,” Mr. Boyle recalled in an interview last week. But his warning drew little notice. “It was utterly astounding,” he said.

Detroit, "Mad Max" Live!
Posted by: GolfBravoUSMC || 03/12/2013 12:47 || Comments || Link || [2 views] Top|| File under:

#1  After 50 years of failed government promises in Detroit, the money has dried up, welfare has run out and the city is headed for fire sale.

LeDuff's memoir is devoid of any petty, partisan slant. It is not a book about competing political philosophies. He is too good for that

What's wrong with this picture. Hey LeDuff, did those 50 years of failed government happen in a vacuum? Government is the creature of "petty" partisan politics. Political Philosophy is what defines the rules and lays out the playing field.

Oh, that's right, you're too "good" to dabble in root causes, effects and remedies; it would "bore" you.

If politics and philosophy is bent in the service of personal power and riches then you eventually get the failure that is Detroit just as it was in the USSR and other places. Politics and philosophy caused this disaster and they are the only things that can rebuild it...........if people really want to.
