Fred, you are far more reliable, honest and trustworthy than the MSM in providing factual news. Thanks for what you, the mods and the other Rantburgers do to provide factual and critiqued news and information.
Could be jihadis, could be someone who doesn’t approve of females in government, or someone who is mad at her, or something political or tribal or just someone in a bad mood...

The airbase was captured by the British 8th Army in January 1943 and transferred to the control of the US Army Air Forces, who called it Mellaha AAF until 1945, when they renamed it Wheelus Air Base for a US airman killed that year. American use continued until the 1969 Libyan coup d'état and the subsequent expiration of the lease.

AHH's briagdes in the PMU, the 41st, 42nd, 43rd, are centered in Diyala and in the vicinity of Khanaqin. Also they are centered south of Balad. It is possible that General Qaani was in either locations prior or after visiting Baghdad.
[IsraelTimes] An Israeli woman is indicted on charges she sent information, including photographs, to the Hezbollah terrorist group in 2018.
According to the charges, the woman was contacted on Facebook by a man from southern Leb ...an Iranian colony situated on the eastern Mediterranean, conveniently adjacent to Israel. Formerly inhabited by hardy Phoenecian traders, its official language is now Arabic, with the usual unpleasant side effects. The Leb civil war, between 1975 and 1990, lasted a little over 145 years and produced 120,000 fatalities. The average length of a ceasefire was measured in seconds. The Lebs maintain a precarious sectarian balance among Shiites, Sunnis, and about a dozeen flavors of Christians. It is the home of Hezbollah, which periodically starts a war with the Zionist Entity, gets Beirut pounded to rubble, and then declares victory and has a parade. The Lebs have the curious habit of periodically murdering their heads of state or prime ministers... who identified himself as Ali, and took the photos at his prodding.
She is charged with contact with a foreign agent, handing over information with the intent of harming Israel’s national security, and aiding a terrorist group.
Another tale of an entire clan of Palestinian jihadis. There are little Barghoutis busily employed making mischief all through the Rantburg archives.
[Jpost] Troops arrested father of deadly 2018 Givat Assaf, Ofra shooter
Israeli security forces have arrested two Paleostinians in the Ramallah area, including the father of a terrorist responsible for two deadly attacks against soldiers and civilians in 2018.
Border Police officers arrested them on suspicion of involvement in several terrorist incidents in recent months, the Israel Police said Tuesday.
During the operation, hundreds of local residents threw stones, Molotov cocktails, bottles of paint and other objects toward the troops, who responded with riot-dispersal measures, including tear gas and stun grenades.
Security forces raided two Ramallah-area villages and detained Omar Barghouti and his son Mohammed in Kobar and Mahmoud Murrar, a lawyer from Budrus, according to Wafa (Paleostine News Agency).
Omar Barghouti is the father of Asam and Saleh Barghouti, who carried out a shooting attack at Ofra junction in December 2018 that maimed seven Israelis. A newborn child, who was delivered prematurely as a result of the attack, died three days later.
Asam Barghouti is suspected of carrying out another shooting attack days outside the Givat Assaf outpost, south of Ofra, in which two IDF soldiers, St.-Sgt.Yuval Mor Yosef and and Sgt. Yosef Cohen were killed. Two more Israelis were maimed: a female resident of Beit El and another soldier, Netanel Felber, who remains at death's door.
Saleh was rubbed out by soldiers during an arrest attempt on December 12, a day before the Givat Assaf shooting.
Omar Barghouti, a Hamas, always the voice of sweet reason, leader in the West Bank, has spent 39 years in Israeli prisons for security-related crimes. He was first arrested by the IDF in 1978 for killing an Israeli citizen. He has been repeatedly held in administrative detention for several years. He entered Israeli prison as a member of Fatah but later became a prominent leader of Hamas.
Hamas’s military wing, the al-Qassam Brigades, took credit for the 2018 Ofra attack shortly after Saleh Barghouti was killed by IDF troops, praising it and saying that it proved that the resistance was alive in the West Bank.
[Fox News] From Skidmark's comment link President Trump said Wednesday that Iran is planning a "sneak attack" on U.S. troops or "assets" in Iraq, warning the country will pay a "heavy price" if this happens.
The president made the abrupt announcement in a tweet Wednesday afternoon, coming amid lingering tensions between the two countries over past confrontations as well as the coronavirus pandemic.
"Upon information and belief, Iran or its proxies are planning a sneak attack on U.S. troops and/or assets in Iraq. If this happens, Iran will pay a very heavy price, indeed!" Trump tweeted.
Trump's tweet came soon after he attended an intelligence briefing at noon at the White House.
Sources told Fox News that the U.S. believes Iranian-backed proxies were planning the sneak attack, and that Trump's tweet was a warning to the Iranian leadership to tell their proxies to back down or face consequences
In late March, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo stated that Iran had refused American aid for addressing the coronavirus pandemic.
Pompeo also condemned Iranian leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei for spreading conspiracy theories that the U.S. was responsible for the outbreak, and pointed out Iran's own misdeeds that exacerbated the spread of the virus.

To be reported in tonight's "news" as, "Trump Wants Another War to Cover His Failures!"
Iran sees our corona virus crisis here in the US as a time of great weakness. The MMs in Iran do not give a rat's behind about their people, so it's time to ratchet things up a bit. The MMs need to feel personal pain if they are stupid enough to try attacks on US forces.

Just watched a news conference where he basically said just that AP. Trump also mentioned that they should be helping their own people instead of looking to exploit the situation.

Observers believe Shayrat to used by Iran as a forward base for bringing weapons into the country. T-4 had been seen as a main base for housing Iran-linked fighters and arms and has been allegedly attacked by Israel several times.
After a very long time noticeable activity can be seen at Al-Shayrat Airbase, #Homs, #Syria in the last month, a new building was constructed just North of one of the runways. I wonder if this was the target this evening?
