Washington and Massachusetts to follow California's gas car sales ban
[FoxBusinessNews] States can opt into California Air Resources Board policies.

Washington Governor Jay Inslee announced on Thursday that the state would join California in phasing out new gas and diesel car sales by 2035.

The California Air Resources Board (CARB) that governs motor vehicle emissions for the state adopted new rules that will require 35% of the new cars sold in the state are electric or plug-in hybrids by 2026, with that percentage rising to 68% by 2030 and 100% by 2035.

California has a waiver from the federal government to set its own air quality rules, and other states are allowed to opt into its regulations, which are typically more stringent than the national standards.

Washington and Massachusetts have laws on the books that were written to trigger gas car sales bans if CARB passed one.

Washington has over 100,000 electric vehicles registered, giving it one of the highest per capita concentrations in the U.S., with EVs accounting for 8% of registrations in July.

Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Maryland, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Nevada, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Virginia, Vermont and Washington D.C., currently follow CARB rules on car emissions, but they have not yet officially announced electric car mandates.

CARB's rule still needs final federal government approval to go into effect, and Washington and Massachusetts will need to move forward with codifying the regulations before they can be enforced.

The sale of used gas and diesel cars will not be restricted and owners of non-EVs purchased out of state will still be allowed to register them.
For now, anyway. This is going to become another driver for conservative and working class flight from Blue states, no doubt to be followed by more factories moving to where workers can be found.

Paul Pelosi's lifetime membership in the California Highway Patrol association is REVOKED after DUI crash because he flashed CHP card at officers in 'doomed attempt to wriggle out of charges'
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] Paul Pelosi's has had his 'lifetime membership' of a California Highway Patrol supporters' association was revoked after he flashed his membership card to police officers during his DUI arrest in May in an attempt to curry favor with the officers.

The CHP 11-99 Foundation, which allows anyone to join at various tiers of membership from between $3,000 and $100,000, said they'd canceled Pelosi's membership after behavior they say 'reflected poorly' on the group.

Pelosi was informed of his termination from the group by letter on Wednesday, and will be refunded the undisclosed amount he paid to join.

The card Pelosi showed tells police officers that he was a life member of a charity that benefits the patrol.

With his membership terminated, he must also return all CHP 11-99 membership items that he currently possesses including the weighty metallic membership cars that he flashed to the arresting officer.

#9  When I consulted with various local governments in CA, it was common for LEO's to give out "courtesy cards". They had to be used with a particular formula (or incantation) when you handed the card over, something like "Please extend whatever courtesy is appropriate under the circumstances". The card was only good for one shot; it was always taken whether or not any courtesy was extended.

DHS Secretary Tours Border Patrol's Busiest Sector for Migrant Crossings in Texas
[Breitbart] DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas toured local facilities within the Border Patrol’s Del Rio Sector Thursday.

Mayorkas arrived in Del Rio on Thursday after completing a stop in San Antonio on Wednesday. In San Antonio, Mayorkas met with city leaders to discuss migrant housing and transit issues. As reported by Breitbart Texas, San Antonio leaders have asked for limitations on migrants sent from the border communities of Laredo, Del Rio, and Eagle Pass to be capped at 600 daily.

Economy
US economy shrank by 0.6 percent in second quarter — signaling recession
[NYPOST] The economy shrank by 0.6% in the second quarter compared to the same period last year — the second consecutive quarter that the nation’s gross domestic product contracted, thus signaling the onset of a recession, according to the latest data.

The US Commerce Department issued a revised reading of second-quarter figures on Thursday — nearly a month after its initial report measured a 0.9% contraction compared to the year prior, Fox Business reported.

In the first quarter of this year, GDP fell by 1.6% — the worst-performing quarter since the spring of 2020. At the time, much of the country was in lockdown due to the spread of the coronavirus (aka COVID19 or Chinese Plague)
...the twenty first century equivalent of bubonic plague, only instead of killing off a third of the population of Europe it kills 3.4 percent of those who notice they have it. It seems to be fond of the elderly, especially Iranian politicians and holy men...

Court Rejects Democrat Official's Attempt to Keep 26K Dead People on Michigan Voter Rolls
[Breitbart] The U.S. Western District Court of Michigan denied a plea by Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson (D) that sought to halt a lawsuit alleging she kept nearly 26,000 dead registrants on the state’s voter rolls.

In November 2021, as Breitbart News reported, the Public Interest Legal Foundation (PILF) filed suit against Benson accusing her of keeping nearly 26,000 dead registrants on Michigan voter rolls and thus violating the National Voter Registration Act (NVRA).

Benson, in response, sought to have the lawsuit thrown out. On Thursday, the district court denied Benson’s effort to dismiss the case.

“It is astonishing that Secretary Benson is so vigorously opposing effective list maintenance,” PILF President J. Christian Adams said in a statement.

“It’s remarkable that after sharing this data with the Secretary of State in 2020, dead registrants remained on the state’s voter rolls,” he continued. “This initial win is the first step to ensuring that deceased registrants are not receiving ballots and reducing the opportunity for fraud in Michigan’s elections.”

PILF’s lawsuit alleges that 25,975 dead registrants remain on Michigan’s voter rolls, including:

  • 23,663 registrants who have been dead for five years or more

  • 17,479 registrants who have been dead for at least a decade

  • 3,956 registrants who have been dead for at least 20 years

Democrat-Linked Group Claims 96,000 Extra Immigrant Voters in Georgia
[Breitbart] A Democrat-backed group claims to have naturalized almost 100,000 legal immigrants in Georgia before the November elections.

“Over 96,000 newly naturalized Americans in the state, who naturalized between 2016 and 2020, could significantly influence the outcome of the 2022 midterm elections,’ said the press statement by National Partnership for New Americans (NPNA), the SEIU union, and various Georgia-based, pro-migration groups. It added:

This number exceeds over eight times the state’s November 2020 presidential election margin of victory and the 2021 Senate runoff election margin of 93,272 votes.

“We’re knocking on doors, we’re having conversations with community members, we are registering people at festivals,” Jerry Gonzalez, the CEO of the Georgia Association of Latino Elected Officials (GALEO) told 11Alivecom. “So the Latino electorate in Georgia is truly powerful, and it’s also outperforming the national low voter participation rate,” he added.

The naturalization includes many Indians, who are one of the most pro-diversity, pro-Democratic immigrant blocs. “The number of newly naturalized citizens originally from India, 11,188, is nearly equal to the margin of victory during the November 2020 presidential election,” the statement said.

Georgia used to be a solidly red state. However, the growing number of legal and illegal migrants recruited by businesses has allowed the Democrats to gain state seats and to win a national Senate majority in 2021 when Georgians elected two Democrat Senators.

Nationwide, Democrats are hoping to naturalize two million legal immigrants in time for the November election. The NPNA website says:

Naturalize Now. Vote Tomorrow!

There are currently 9 million lawful permanent residents eligible to naturalize and become U.S. Citizens.”

Our campaign goal to Naturalize #2MillionBy2022 is a partnership among the country’s leading immigrant and refugee advocacy and service organizations, cities and counties and national advocacy organizations and unions.

In a July report, the group claimed the growing population of additional legal-immigrant voters:

By the time of the 2022 midterm elections, they can total an estimated 5.19 million … This multiracial, multi-generational, and majority women group of [legal immigrant] naturalized citizens represent a potential voting bloc that in 2022 can decide various political outcomes including who controls the U.S. Senate by voting in states like Georgia, Arizona, Nevada, Pennsylvania, and Florida

The mass inflow of Democratic-voting legal immigrants is protected by the Georgia business groups. The groups — including agriculture, construction, retail, and landlords — strongly favor the extraction of additional workers, consumers, and renters from foreign countries, by both legal and illegal migration. This political skew is reducing American employees’ wages, raising their housing costs, and diminishing their political and civic power.

The business lobby has huge sway over the state GOP, which has done very little to exclude a huge number of illegal migrants — perhaps 500,000 — from the state’s jobs, housing, and schools, said D.A. King, the founder of the Dustin Inman Society. which favors immigration reforms to benefit ordinary Americans.

For example, King is now trying to get the GOP governor of Georgia, Brian Kemp, to enforce a Georgia law that requires sheriffs to report jailed illegals to the federal government.

GOP leaders also downplay the data showing that legal migrants strongly favor Democratic legislators. For example, Kemp promoted voting by five pro-Democratic foreign-language populations when he served as Secretary of State from 2010 to 2018.

Kemp won his 2018 election by just 50,000 votes.

The state also automatically enrolls citizens for voting whenever they get a new driver’s license, said, King. Non-naturalized migrants need to actively opt out to avoid registering for voting, he said, adding “that is a huge part of how the Democrats have registered so many voters.”

Most immigrant populations tend to move toward the center only after 20 or 40 years. For example, a rising minority share of Latinos is now willing to vote GOP because of the Democrats’ bad management of the economy and the border.

#11  Biden has made the problem worse. At the same time "just pay it off" doesn't fix anything either. The kid with a $200k gender studies degree will never pay off that loan. He shouldn't have taken it, the school should not have charged so much, the loan should not have been offered, etc. But it did and the government guaranteed that loan. We were all on the hook the day it was made. It will never be paid back, and eventually that kid will die and we'll all still be on the hook. Unless we die first I guess. And all the while we are still making these loans and printing these degrees every single day.

#14  My parents worked their way through college, as did Mr. Wife and I, the trailing daughters started saving from their earnings as pre-teens in addition to parental savings, and both of my fosterlings who went worked and got scholarships...

But Mr. Wife and I also got took out small loans ($7,000 between us, as I recall). When we went to the bank to set up repayment, the loan officer tried to talk us into defaulting because, he said, the federal government would cover it so the bank would be fine — we had to fight him to get the paperwork set up. This was back in 1981, so the rot goes back long before the Obama federalization of college loan sourcing and the current Biden executive order.

Get the federal government out of student loans, starting with FAFSA applications for the parents of all students, even those who don’t want loans or merit scholarships

#15  Biden announced $10,000 in forgiveness for borrowers earning less than $125,000 and $20,000 for those who had Pell Grants

I keep seeing Pell Grants mentioned in this scheme. Pell Grants are grants, not loans. You do not need to repay a grant. No idea what is going on with that.

#20  I keep seeing Pell Grants mentioned in this scheme. Pell Grants are grants, not loans. You do not need to repay a grant. No idea what is going on with that.

The current wording is that if you received a Pell Grant ('exceptional' financial needs based), they'll write off $20G in your loan debt. Grant itself doesn't have to be repaid, just that since you were eligible for a Pell, you'll get a larger reduction of your existing student loan debt.

Notice I said 'existing'. If you've paid it off already, you're SOL.

#21  If you've paid it off already, you're SOL.

Yeah. Think about that. If you did the right thing, gummint policy is you are SOL.

#22  If you didn't take out a freaking loan in the first place - your also SOL!

#23  I've seen and heard about abuses of the student loan system. One kid bought a duplex with the money, another used the money to buy a new Audi, another racked up several hundred thousand getting two Phds, one here and one abroad. The last I heard, this student was paying the minimum amount each year. She won't live long enough to ever pay back her debt.

Biden calls Trump's philosophy 'semi-fascism'
[POLITICO] Exuberant over a string of recent legislative victories, and launching his midterm campaigning in earnest, President Joe The Big Guy Biden
...46th president of the U.S. We hold these truths to be self-evident. All men and women created ... by the — you know — you know, the thing...
swaggered into Maryland on Thursday and excoriated his predecessor’s philosophy as "semi-fascism
...a political system developed in Italy, symbolized by the Roman fasces -- thin reeds, each flimsy in itself but unbreakable when bound into a bundle. Its distinguishing philosophical feature is the Corporate State. The word is nowadays thrown around by all sorts of people who have no idea what they're talking about...
," in what constituted an unusually pointed and highly charged denunciation of Republicans.

"What we’re seeing now is either the beginning or the death knell of extreme MAGA philosophy," Biden told Democratic donors in the Washington suburb of Rockville. Calling out those he labeled as "extreme" Republicans, Biden said: "It’s not just Trump, it’s the entire philosophy that underpins the — I’m going to say something, it’s like semi-fascism."

Later, at a national Democratic Party
...every time you hear the phrase white people, white supremacy, white anything but paint, you're listening to a Democrat. Ask him/her/it to reimagine something for you; they do that a lot, though not well. They can hear a dog whistle a mile or two away. They invented the spoils system and Tammany Hall, and inspired the addition of the word (Thomas) Nasty to the English language. They want to stop continental drift and repeal the law of unintended side effects...
event before a few thousand people packed into a nearby high school gym, Biden added: "I respect conservative Republicans. I don’t respect these MAGA Republicans."

"There are not many real Republicans anymore," Biden added.

No president in recent memory has had a better month of August, lifting the mood inside the White House and injecting fresh hope across the party ahead of what long looked like a bleak midterm election. In recent weeks, Democrats have passed a slew of marquee bills filled with deliverables that Biden ticked through in his speeches. The president painted the last year-plus as something of an American comeback — and a recovery from the depths of the pandemic and economic turmoil: "We’ve come a long way," he said.

And after a recent stretch of self-isolation as he recovered from Covid, Biden appeared to relish the opportunity to close out the night by wading into the audience and spending several minutes grinning for selfies.

Republicans called the president’s comment about fascism "despicable," with a spokesperson for the GOP saying Americans are still "suffering" from high inflation.

For Biden, spending the evening in a blue state with few competitive elections pointed to the careful calculation the White House faces in deploying him over the next 75 days. While the president’s approval numbers have ticked up of late, he still hovers around the low- to mid-40s, and many Democrats remain reluctant to appear with him.

#1  The United States was founded as a Christian Nation. But it is rapidly falling into a dark abyse of hate and corruption. The institutions on the Federal level are joining in demonizing others. As a friendly reminder, this is the moral characteristic of a Christian nation.

Corinthians 13:4–8a (ESV)

Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends.

#3  Fascism, like its brethren on the Left, seeks centralization and concentration of power, that the citizenry exist for the programs and plans of the those who operate the state, the party and state are one. Summarized in "everything in the party, nothing outside the party, nothing against the party". Biden, like his fellow travelers, engages in gross Freudian Projection.

Trump demonstrated in his time proclivity towards decentralization, checks and balances, and that government fundamentally exists to serve the people (not the other way around). Anti-thesis of fascism.

The 7 behaviors, beliefs and tendencies of hypocrites that may reveal their true identity

7 behaviors, beliefs and tendencies of hypocrites that may reveal their true identity:
1. Attempting to punish someone for “pointing out” any wrongdoings.
2. Aura of condescension and superiority.
3. Rules don’t apply to them….
4. Excuses, lies, and more of the same.
5. “Do as I say, not as I do.”
6. Always playing the victim.
7. It’s not (and never is) their fault.

POP QUIZ: How many of these apply to Biden, the LSD Coup's members and their BL$M & ANTI-FArt SA's, subversive actions over the last 3 years.
