'I'm a high-profile person': Paul Pelosi DUI footage released after guilty plea

Two tiers of justice

[Washington Examiner] The California Highway Patrol released photos and videos from the night the husband of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.

In the newly unveiled footage, Paul Pelosi, 82, is heard slurring his words as police question him over his level of intoxication and direct him through sobriety tests. Pelosi pleaded guilty to one charge of DUI on Tuesday in exchange for a five-day prison sentence and additional penalties.

However, Pelosi has already served two days, received credit for two additional days, and will participate in a work program for the remaining time, Politico reported.

Dashcam footage obtained by the Washington Examiner showed Pelosi informing an officer on the scene that he drank a glass of champagne and a glass of wine that night. One of the officers noted that Pelosi was grasping the patrol vehicle to maintain his balance.
