[FoxNews] A city council in Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party, overwhelmingly voted to declare the city a "Constitutional Republic City" to protect its citizens’ rights in light of federal and state mandates.
"What we are doing is protecting our citizens' rights as much as we can on the local level," Oroville Vice Mayor Scott Thomson told Fox News Digital.
"In a way, we are acting as a sanctuary city for our citizens and their rights and freedoms protected by the U.S. and state constitutions," he added. "Gavin can't be Bee'd Newsom ...the Mitt Romneyesque mayor of San Francisco as it transformed itself into Poopville, currently governor of California as it transforms itself into Cinderland... modeled this type of declaration for us when he declared the Socialist paradise of San Francisco ...where God struck dead Anton LaVey, home of the Sydney Ducks, ruled by Vigilance Committee from 1859 through 1867, reliably and volubly Democrat since 1964... a sanctuary city for what he believed to be overreach by the federal government against his citizens."
Thomson requested the measure, which was passed 6-1 by the city council on Nov. 2. The resolution is intended to allow the city to opt out of enforcing "any executive orders issued by the state of California or by the United States federal government that are overreaching or clearly violate our constitutionally protected rights."
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] Former Trump strategist Steve Bannon lashed out at President Joe Biden and promised to go on offense after appearing before a judge on criminal contempt charges on Monday afternoon.
'I'm never gonna back down and they they took on the wrong guy this time,' he told a throng of waiting journalists.
Bannon, 67, is the first person to face criminal charges in the congressional probe into the role played by former President Trump and his aides in the runup to the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol as they sought to overturn election results.
He faces two misdemeanour charges of contempt of Congress for refusing to respond to a House subpoena.
'This is going to be the misdemeanour from hell for Merrick Garland, Nancy Pelosi and Joe Biden,' he said after his first court appearance.
'Joe Biden ordered Merrick Garland to prosecute me from the White House lawn when he got off Marine One, and we're going to go on the offence.
'We're tired of playing defense.'
As might be expected from one of Trump's top propagandists, he used the media attention to deliver his verdict on the case against him - after earlier livestreaming the moment he gave himself up to the FBI.
Bannon, 67, is one of more than 30 people close to the former president who have been ordered by the House select committee to testify about what happened in the run-up to the deadly attack.

Texas State Rep. Ryan Guillen, a longtime Democrat, is switching over to the Republican Party, announcing that “many of us are waking up to the fact that the values of those in Washington, DC, are not our values, not the values of most Texans.”

I would have showed up, make a long drawn out statement for the record. Then announce my Constitutional Right not answer questions.
Just like a bunch of Obama and Clinton staff pulled.
I am sure many feel it is clear that the goal of this Administration and too many members of this Congress is to negate Constitutional Rights as needed to accomplish their deeper hidden agenda goals.

Some of the party switching may be real changes, apparently quite a few of the democrats here in the state were unhappy that Biden basically allowed a massive flood of illegals in. Quite a few of the legal immigrants here are quite annoyed by that too. When it's you getting thrown to the wolves, sometimes you decide that maybe you have to grow up.

Bannon should watch his back, avoid Fort Marcy park and remember what they did to Breitbart. If this case ever goes to trial and it unravels like the case against Rittenhouse, Biden and Garland and Obama will not appreciate being embarrassed.

Guillan switch is what happens when you flood a border state with illegals, refuse to distribute Covid vaccines to anyone (Republican or Democrat) because it is Texas, and attack the oil industry which employs Republicans and Democrats, etc. etc. etc..
The FAA is set to complete the Environmental Assessment of Starbase by December 31st. Sadly, we will have to wait until 2022 to see another Starship launch. 🚀
Last year I projected the cost of SLS / Orion to be exactly $4.1B. And that is way too high for the 21st century. I wonder much longer before @NASA considers launching humans to LEO in a Dragon / F9, docking w/ Starship in LEO - going to the moon, then docking to HLS Starship? https://t.co/ERTw5ISPvc

Well, NASA was told it couldn't afford the Constellation project, so it cancelled it and built SLS instead.

...NASA has been pretty much hopeless for about four decades now. When my Dad went to work there just after the Challenger accident, he figured out PDQ that NASA's primary mission is transferring tax dollars to aerospace contractors - any science or tech they trip over along the way is a bonus, and hey, we still got Tang.
