Joe Biden's sexual assault problem gets worse, and he seems more senile than ever
[American Thinker] The news about Joe Biden has taken on a completely surreal quality. For a long time, the headlines were about his declining mental state, which is becoming hard to ignore. This was bizarre enough in a presumptive Democrat candidate for the presidency.

Then, Tara Reade dropped a bombshell, alleging that the same politician known for publicly groping and sniffing women and children had sexually assaulted her. The media assiduously ignored Reade's allegations as long as they could and eventually reported on them only to dismiss both Reade and the allegations.

The media’s worst nightmare came true, though, when corroborating evidence about Reade’s allegations started piling up. It was easy enough to downplay corroboration when it came from her brother and a friend. Of course they’d side with her. But when a phone call from Reade’s mother to the Larry King show in 1993 — a time contemporaneous with the event — popped up and Mom was talking about her daughter’s problems with a "prominent senator," things got dicey.

The nightmare reached Stephen King proportions yesterday, when two women who knew Reade in the mid-1990s, not long after the alleged assault, reported that Reade had told them about the assault. While the fact that she told them shortly after she left Biden’s office does not prove that he attacked her, it certainly proves that she’s not creating the story out of whole cloth today for some nefarious purpose. By contrast, Christine Blasey-Ford, a pro-abortion fanatic, first started telling the story about Kavanaugh when he was touted as a possible Supreme Court nominee during the Bush presidency, decades after the event allegedly happened.

Lynda LaCasse, who intends to vote for Biden no matter what he did, was Reade’s neighbor and friend in 1995 or 1996. She told Business Insider that she remembers Reade telling her about Biden’s conduct two or three years before:

#1  He's obviously too addled to stand trial or testify regarding his past proclivities, or the financial affairs of his son Hunter. Lots of opportunity to showcase his nutty side, running in a dead-end presidential race. Appears to be a good strategy,

#2  Touchy-feely Joe has some real sexual assault problems. Contrast that with Kavanaugh’s fabricated sexual assault problems designed to keep him off SCOTUS.

If the Dems and the left will do all of the things they have done to take down Trump, they will do anything for the sake of power--and yes, even staging the coronavirus and all the hoopla surrounding the coronavirus in an effort to destroy the economy.

-Short Attention Span Theater-
What Really Happened to the Crew of the H.L. Hunley?
[Garden & Gun] On February 17, 1864, eight sailors aboard the Confederate submarine H.L. Hunley detonated two hundred pounds of black powder against the hull of the USS Housatonic, sinking the Union warship in the waters off Charleston, South Carolina. The Hunley also sank, never seeing the surface again until she was raised in 2000, the remains of her crew still at their posts. Though she had finally returned to port, there was no indication of the cause of the Hunley’s demise.

Did her own torpedo sink the submarine along with the Housatonic? Was she doomed by an underwater collision or breach in her hull? Had mechanical failure led to slow suffocation for the eight men trapped beneath the waves? The mystery of the Hunley’s end persisted.

As a U.S. Marine with a love for military history, I followed the Hunley’s story closely. But in 2001 my own wars interrupted that and everything else. Four years after the submarine reappeared, on a cold night in Iraq, a truck carrying nine of my Marines struck an anti-tank mine filled with twelve pounds of high explosive. The explosion destroyed the truck, leaving all nine men injured. The most pernicious injuries were those caused by explosive shock waves, the signature wound of America’s post-9/11 wars. Those seemingly unrelated bits of history, 140 years apart, give me a more than passing interest in the forces central to both. They also give life to Dr. Rachel Lance’s important, timely, and deeply entertaining book, In the Waves.

Pelosi Says Trump Should Have ‘Shut The Door' To Americans, Stranding Them In Coronavirus Plagued China
[Summit News] Nancy Pelosi has to disagree with anything President Trump says or does, no matter how bat shit crazy she sounds doing it. That’s why Sunday she appeared on CNN and suggested that Trump should have not allowed Americans to return from China at the beginning of the coronavirus outbreak.

When asked by CNN host Jake Tapper if she thought Trump made the right move in January by closing the borders to people from coronavirus ravaged areas, she responded "Actually, tens of thousands of people were still allowed in from China, so it wasn’t, as it is described, as this great moment."

"There were Americans coming back or green card holders coming back, but there were tens of thousands," Pelosi continued, adding "So, if you’re going to shut the door because you have an evaluation of an epidemic, then shut the door."

Inspiring: Celebrities Spell Out 'We're All In This Together' With Their Yachts
[Babylon Bee] MALIBU, CA—Many described the scene as breathtaking or awe-inspiring. Others were so touched they couldn't find the words to communicate how they felt. Most simply wept.

No matter how they expressed their emotions, everyone agreed that the scene off the Malibu coast Monday morning was exactly what America needed to get through this pandemic. Celebrities gathered their multi-million-dollar yachts on the waters of the Pacific Ocean and spelled out "WE'RE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER."

"We're just like you," said Ellen DeGeneres on her Instagram as her servants sailed her yacht into position to form the apostrophe. "Yes, maybe I have a yacht and you've only ever been on the Storybook Canal boats at Disneyland, but still. It's pretty much the same thing."

"Stay home, save lives -- it's not that hard," said Patton Oswalt, whose fleet of yachts made up several of the letters. "Look, poor people, it's not worth risking your life just to go to Fuddruckers or work a job or whatever it is you peasants do all day."

After the stunt was over, Oswalt had his chauffeur drive him home in his hot tub limousine as he snorted several million dollars' worth of powdered caviar.

"All of humanity is fighting this together and we're all as one," said Lady Gaga, who was wearing a bathing suit made out of gold bricks. "Though, I mean, don't try to get on my yacht. My guards will literally shoot you. That's not a metaphor."

They might manage 'We're in" if they had a screenwriter telling them what to write and a director telling them where to dock but they'd probably still screwup the spelling of we're and manage where or wear instead.

East Texas Hog Hunting In The Time Of Coronavirus
[Federalist] Preparing for a hog hunt is like preparing for the end of the world. You need a reliable rifle and ammunition, of course, but you also need a bunch of other stuff—a sidearm, maps, binoculars, compass, flashlight, knife, raingear, boots, food and water, two-way radios. Once you’re all geared up, you can’t help but think that if the end came, you’d be ready.

The feeling is even more intense when you go hog hunting during a global pandemic. It might not be the apocalypse, but when it comes to buying guns and ammo—or toilet paper—it might as well be.

I know, because I recently went on a hog hunt in East Texas. Hunting feral hogs might not seem like an essential activity during coronavirus lockdowns, but here in Texas it is.

Or at least it isn’t banned. In his March 31 executive order, Gov. Greg Abbott made it clear that hunting and fishing are not prohibited so long as proper measures are taken to prevent the spread of the disease.

Some friends and I had been planning a hog hunt for months, long before the pandemic upended our lives, and as the appointed weekend neared, we decided that if the governor said we could go and the ranch owner still wanted us to come, then we’d throw some face masks and hand sanitizer in our packs and go kill some hogs. Even if we didn’t get any, it would at least get us out of the house to somewhere besides the grocery store and Home Depot.

#4  If you plan to eat what you kill, which I always do, a 165-pounder is about as large a one as you’d ever want to shoot. The big boars are simply too tough, the meat too gamey to be any good. Even the juveniles need to be slow-cooked, which is what we did with the small hog that very night back at camp.

We butchered the sow and split it three ways, and now my freezer is full of frozen pork. That’s the best possible ending to any hog hunting trip, but especially a hog hunting trip during a pandemic.

Australia to China: Don't Push Us on COVID-19, Mate
PJ via Instapundit
Okay, okay, fine. If you want to get all nitpicky, COVID-19 isn't the Chinese virus. It's merely the latest Chinese virus. Any number of deadly pandemics have emanated from China for thousands of years, and it will keep on happening as long as the Chinese allow it to happen. But you're not supposed to say that, because China is full of Chinese people and therefore criticizing them is racist. You're supposed to ignore facts. You mustn't tell the truth about why you're out of a job and worried about getting sick and dying. If you do, your moral, ethical, and intellectual betters will call you names, which they will also do for any other reason.

But not everyone is cowed by China. Not our friends down under, certainly.

Kirsty Needham, Reuters:

Australian Foreign Minister Marise Payne has cautioned China against attempts at "economic coercion" as Australia pushes for an investigation into the coronavirus pandemic that China opposes.

Chinese ambassador to Australia, Cheng Jingye, said in a newspaper interview on Monday the "Chinese public" could avoid Australian products and universities...

"We reject any suggestion that economic coercion is an appropriate response to a call for such an assessment, when what we need is global cooperation," Payne said.

China is pulling a neat trick here:

    1. Unleash deadly plague on the world
    2. Lie about it, destroy evidence, and silence whistleblowers
    3. Threaten to boycott anybody who correctly blames you for hundreds of thousands of deaths and global economic ruin.

...China did this. If you think that's racist, you're out of your damn mind and I don't care what you say about me. Glad the Aussies feel the same way. And the Brits aren't taking this lying down either. This Chinese virus almost killed Boris Johnson, and now he's very cross indeed. The only people who aren't glad he's okay are Chinese communists and Western leftists. But then, they're one and the same.

Cops Should Enforce the Law, Not the Whims of Politicians
"Jack Dunphy". Up there with VDH in my reads whenever they post. Trust lost is hard to regain
[PJ Media] On November 1, 2013, a gunman opened fire in Terminal 3 at Los Angeles International Airport. He was soon confronted and shot by airport police officers, but not before killing a TSA agent and wounding two others and a traveler.
That was Paul Ciancia, then aged 23, who objected to the TSA and the NWO. In retrospect, one suspects he was a nutter — 23 is the right age for that to bloom. The story first appears in our archives here and here.
I was still with the LAPD at the time and was among the hundreds of police officers and federal agents who responded to the shooting’s chaotic aftermath. I wrote about the incident two days later, offering my perspective on why the chaos was far worse than it need have been. In short, decisions were made based on inaccurate and speculative reports, this despite the fact that reliable information was readily at hand. These poorly informed decisions led to an unnecessarily prolonged shutdown of the airport, bringing undue misery to thousands of travelers and causing disruptions to air traffic that were felt all over the country and beyond.

I have been reminded of that day while watching the global upheaval wrought by the coronavirus pandemic. I will grant that the current situation is not entirely analogous to an isolated incident like the one at LAX, but certain comparisons are nonetheless instructive. Police officers everywhere know that when an incident achieves a certain level of public interest, higher-ranking personnel emerge from their offices to put their imprint on the course of events, most often with deleterious results. Such was the case at LAX that day, as command staff from the LAPD, Airport Police, L.A. County Sheriff’s Department, FBI, ATF, and a host of other agencies descended on the airport and began issuing nonsensical instructions, many of them conflicting with others issued moments earlier.

I don't want the damage "undone" if the price is going back to unthinking reverence for institutions and people who abuse their power.

If the trust is earned and not abused -- give trust(but always reassess).
