Hunter Biden Only Willing to Testify in Public Before House Committee
[Breitbart] Hunter Biden is willing to testify before the House Oversight Committee on December 13, his lawyer said Tuesday — but only in a public hearing.

Hunter Biden would be a key witness in the House’s impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden, pending the committee’s approval.

Abbe Lowell, Hunter Biden’s lawyer said his client would only be willing to testify in a public setting but not behind closed doors as the committee asked:

  • We have seen you use closed-door sessions to manipulate, even distort the facts and misinform the public.
  • We therefore propose opening the door. If, as you claim, your efforts are important and involve issues that Americans should know about, then let the light shine on these proceedings.
  • Mr. Biden will appear at such a public hearing on the date you noticed, December 13, or any date in December that we can arrange.

House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer (R-KY) replied to Lowell via X Tuesday morning:

  • Hunter Biden is trying to play by his own rules instead of following the rules required of everyone else. That won’t stand with House Republicans.
  • Our lawfully issued subpoena to Hunter Biden requires him to appear for a deposition on December 13.
  • We expect full cooperation with our subpoena for a deposition but also agree that Hunter Biden should have opportunity to testify in a public setting at a future date.

House Republicans subpoenaed both Hunter and James Biden in their probe of the president. James Biden is reportedly in communication with the committee about the subpoena.

#1  He will likely never be forced to testify. I suspect "National Defense Security" risks or reasons will eventually be sited.

#2  Problem with testimony before House Committee is that each Rep has only a specified time to ask questions. Each Democrat Rep will simply praise Biden or something for their 5 minutes and there will be no continuity.

Student, 15, killed by younger peer in caught-on-camera brawl at North Carolina high school
[NYPOST] A 15-year-old student was fatally knifed by a 14-year-old classmate on Monday during a wild, caught-on-camera brawl inside a North Carolina high school.

The melee inside the gym at Southeast Raleigh High School also landed a second student, 16, in the hospital with a non-life-threatening stab wound, according to local reports.

"Both victims were transported to an area hospital," Raleigh Police Chief Estella Patterson said during a presser. "Sadly, one victim departed this vale of tears."

"This is a very unfortunate incident that has occurred today," she added. "One that is very disturbing to us."

The teen accused of stabbing two of his peers was arrested and charged with murder on a juvenile petition, WRAL reported, citing authorities.

Part of the fight caught on camera shows two students face to face before a youngster in a black jacket throws a punch at a student in a red jacket, who responds with his own punch.

The fight spills into the gym as other students quickly follow the brawl.

During the escalating melee, one of the students appears to jab at two teens with a sharp object before fleeing, according to the footage obtained by WRAL and CBS 17.

The identities of the victims and suspect were not released.

Sherelle McLaughlin told WRAL that her son, who is the alleged stabber, was only defending himself.

She also said she doesn’t believe he took the knife to school, but got it from someone else in the building.

"The whole situation is terrible," McLaughlin said. "I feel bad for the other family but in return, I feel bad for my son because he was fighting for his life. It wasn’t a fair fight. I just don’t think it should have happened like that."

The school will be closed Tuesday as students come to grips with the death of a classmate and the district reviews safety protocols.

"Schools should be a safe haven for our students and staff," Wake County Superintendent Robert Taylor said. "What happened here today is unacceptable."

#1  This should be interesting. What TFA isn't saying is that the kid with the knife was jumped...and defended himself.

And what isn't in the article should tell you everything you need to know about the background of those involved.

Jimmy Carter, 99, Makes Rare Appearance at Late Wife Rosalynn Carter's Memorial Service
[AOL - People Magazine] The former president terminated medical intervention in February amid his own health challenges, and had been living privately in hospice care at home prior to Tuesday's ceremony

Jimmy Carter made a rare and poignant public appearance on Tuesday afternoon, attending his late wife Rosalynn Carter's memorial service in Atlanta.

The former president, 99, terminated medical intervention in February amid his own health challenges, and had been in hospice care at home prior to Tuesday's ceremony.

Rosalynn, meanwhile, was diagnosed with dementia in May, and entered hospice care just days ahead of her death on Nov. 19 at age 96. According to a news release from The Carter Center, she died "peacefully" at her longtime Plains, Georgia, home "with her family by her side."

In an accompanying statement, President Carter said, "Rosalynn was my equal partner in everything I ever accomplished. She gave me wise guidance and encouragement when I needed it. As long as Rosalynn was in the world, I always knew somebody loved and supported me."

Rosalynn was married to Jimmy, the 39th president of the United States, for 77 years, and served as the nation's barrier-breaking first lady during his tenure from 1977 to 1981. She is survived by their four children — Jack, Chip, Jeff, and Amy — and numerous grandchildren and great-children.Forever sweethearts who met when they were just babies, the former first lady and former president coined a sweet phrase they shared with each other: "ILYTG."

"'I love you the goodest.' That's what my mother and daddy used to say back and forth, and I picked it up with Rosa," the nation's 39th president told PEOPLE back in 2014. "Now all our children do the same thing — ILYTG on the phone or in emails. They generally just put the initials."The ceremonies for Rosalynn began on Monday with a wreath-laying at Georgia Southwestern State University's Rosalynn Carter Health and Human Sciences Complex. The motorcade accompanying Rosalynn made stops at at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center in Americus, Georgia, where past and current members of her Secret Service detail escorted the hearse.

The former first lady was then taken to the Jimmy Carter Presidential Library and Museum in Atlanta, where members of the public were invited to pay respects.

Tuesday's invitation-only ceremony was attended by Jimmy as well as current President Joe Biden, former President Bill Clinton, Vice President Kamala Harris and second gentleman Doug Emhoff.

Every living U.S. first lady — including Dr. Jill Biden, Melania Trump, Michelle Obama, Hillary Clinton, and Laura Bush — also attended Tuesday's tribute service for Rosalynn.

On Wednesday, Nov. 28, a formal funeral service for family and friends will take place at Maranatha Baptist Church in Plains.

Police release photos and names of 34 Sierra Leone fugitives
[AFRICANEWS] Sierra Leone police on Tuesday published the photos and identities of 34 men and women wanted in connection with the festivities that left around 20 people dead in the capital Freetown on Sunday.

The 32 men and two women listed as "runaways" include serving and retired soldiers, coppers and civilians.

The police statement posted on social networks promised a "handsome reward" to anyone providing information leading to their capture.

On Sunday, Freetown witnessed several hours of armed confrontation between the security forces and unknown assailants who tried to break into a military armoury. The central prison and other correctional facilities were stormed and dozens of inmates appear to have escaped.

The festivities left around twenty people dead, according to military and forensic sources. They were orchestrated by serving or retired soldiers, said the army front man.

13 Sierra Leone military officers are under arrest for trying to stage a coup
[AFRICANEWS] Attacks on Sierra Leone's main military barracks and prisons were a failed coup attempt and have resulted in the arrest of 13 military officers, the government's front man said Tuesday.

The attackers attempted to "overthrow the elected government of Sierra Leone," Information Minister Chernor Bah said at a briefing to news hounds about the early morning attacks that took security forces and residents by surprise in the usually peaceful capital city of Freetown on Sunday.

"Thirteen military officers are currently in jug and one other civilian ... in this incident we are now calling a failed coup," Bah said.

Coming months after Sierra Leone's President Julius Maada Bio was reelected for a second term in a disputed vote in June, a coup attempt in the West African nation further raises political tensions in West and Central Africa. Coups have surged in the region, with eight military takeovers since 2020, including in Niger and Gabon this year.

Residents in Freetown were awoken by sounds of heavy gunfire Sunday as button men broke into the key armory in the country's largest military barracks, located near the presidential villa in a heavily guarded part of the city.

The attackers — in their dozens — also targeted two prisons in the city, including the central prison where most of the more than 2,000 inmates were freed, according to Col. Sulaiman Massaquoi, acting head of the Sierra Leone Correctional Service.

A civilian was also arrested in connection with the attack and more than 100 of the freed inmates have reported back at the prisons amid a manhunt for fleeing suspects, the information minister said.

Gunshots were heard in the capital on Tuesday as security forces tried to arrest one of the fleeing suspects. "The person of interest has been arrested and is now in jug of the security forces," the information ministry said in a statement.

Many of the attackers were either hiding or still on the run across the country, the Chief of Defense Staff Lt. Gen. Peter Lavahun told the briefing.

He said the armory had no closed-circuit television (CCTV) but that officials were checking to confirm the number of weapons seized. "We were able to recover two vehicles containing arms and ammunition that were carted away," said Lavahun.

Many in Freetown and across the country remained indoors on Tuesday, more than a day after the government relaxed a 24-hour curfew to a night lockdown.

There have been political tensions in Sierra Leone since Bio's reelection in a vote that the opposition has said was rigged in his favour. Two months after he was reelected, police said they arrested several people, including senior military officers planning to use protests "to undermine peace."

US Spends Billions on Overseas Wars, But Who Really Benefits?
[ET] Concerns over incentivizing global conflicts are rising as the Biden administration requests more than $105 billion in supplemental security spending.

The administration says the money, primarily for Israel and Ukraine, will be good for the economy.

President Joe Biden has described the mammoth spending package as "a smart investment" that will "pay dividends" to U.S. security interests.

Likewise, Assistant Secretary of State James O’Brien described the supplemental as "a very good bargain."

Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said the money will "flow through our defense industrial base, creating American jobs in more than 30 states."

However, many are skeptical of the administration’s claims and believe that the massive investment in the defense industry will squander the nation’s ability to adequately address social and infrastructure needs.

Presidential hopeful Robert Kennedy Jr. is among them.

"Creating jobs is a poor excuse for a foreign policy that wreaks mayhem around the world," Mr. Kennedy told The Epoch Times in an email.

Three more suspects taken into custody in Kohistan girl murder case
[GEO.TV] The police on Tuesday claimed to have arrested three more suspects wanted in a murder case involving a Kohistan

girl, who was reportedly killed for honour on Jirga’s order a few days back.

The maiden of tender years was killed allegedly on the orders of a local jirga in the Kolai-Palas areas of Kohistan, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP). The slain girl was one of the two whose pictures and videos — apparently edited — dancing with local boys went viral on the social media platforms. The police rescued the second girl.

Those arrested include the victim’s uncle, cousin and her close relative, the police official said, adding that the suspects would be produced before the court tomorrow. Meanwhile,

the police have taken the boy — featured in the viral video with the girls — into protective custody, Daily Jang reported.

Later, the boy was arraigned before the court of a local magistrate where he expressed complete ignorance about the photos and the videos.

The other girl seen in the photos had been married to a youth — whom she was already engaged —, the police revealed.

The police would seek FIA cybercrimes help to trace the suspect who made the pictures viral on the internet, said the officials.

'PICTURES OF KOHISTAN GIRL WERE FAKE'
A day earlier, police revealed that the pictures of two maiden of tender yearss from Kohistan, including the one who was killed for honour, were doctored and posted on fake social media accounts, The News reported.

The issue came to light after the girl was allegedly killed by her father and other male family members for honour a few days after her fake pictures went viral on social media.

The police had arrested the father and recovered the weapon. Regional Police Officer of Hazara

    Men, check your junk
[MAIL] A simple, 10-second self-exam could make the difference between life and aggressive cancer leading to cannonball-shaped tumors in the lungs.

Testicular cancer is the leading cause of a condition doctors called 'cannonball lung' - where the disease spreads to the lungs and forms a splattering of rapidly-multiplying tumors.

The odds of survival worsen from about 96 percent when spotted early to as low as 73 percent once the cancer has spread beyond the testicles to the lungs.

Florida-based emergency department physician Dr Sam Ghali took to Twitter to warn people of the deadly risk, after seeing the scenario in a young patient.

In a voice recording posted to the social media site, he told of a man in his 20s who went to the hospital for a persistent cough - and was found to have advanced-stage testicular cancer that had spread to his lungs.

Multiple growths appeared as cloudy blobs on the chest x-ray - a classic case of 'cannonball metastases', Dr Ghali said.

If caught early, such as through a self-exam, testicular cancer is largely treatable.
