[FoxNews] A Los Angeles, California, Nordstrom store was ransacked by a mob of more than 30 people on Saturday, with the suspects getting away with nearly $100,000 worth of handbags and clothes.
The Los Angeles Police Department said at about 4 p.m. on Saturday, a mob of "criminals" stole items from the store.
Video captured from inside the store show a group of between 30 and 50 people wearing sweatshirt hoodies over their heads.
The suspects were seen inside the department store, running toward the front entrance and carrying bags, scooping up whatever merchandise they could and fighting off and tripping on racks that some items were still attached to.

This could be seen as a big win for Nordstrom's, given this problem location.
More than likely, they can justifiably break the store lease, based on safety and security concerns. Close this problem location since there are 87 other California locations.
As an added bonus.

[Townhall] While the entire United States was under authoritarian mandates, top so-called Covid-19 “experts” were making hundreds of millions of dollars on the pandemic that caused lifelong hurdles for many Americans.
According to records, the former NIH Director, Dr. Francis Collins, and former NIAID Director, Dr. Anthony Fauci, made huge profits from royalty checks during the Chinese virus-fueled pandemic. At the same time, thousands of people struggled to put food on the table.
OpenTheBooks, a transparency organization, recently released over 1,500 unredacted records revealing the leaders of the country’s National Institutes of Health and the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases profited off the virus that killed thousands of people.
On top of that, Fauci funded the Wuhan Institute of Virology to research the Coronavirus.
The records show Collins and Fauci got 58 royalty payments for allowing companies to use their COVID-19 vaccines, which in return was developed with funding from U.S. taxpayers by private pharmaceutical firms.
So, in other words, the Covid pandemic was one big ploy for the government to get massively wealthy.
Through the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), 56,000 transactions were recorded, totaling over $325 million banked by the “experts.”
“The NIH continues to refuse to voluntarily divulge the names of scientists who receive royalties and from which companies over the period of time from 2010 to 2016, 27,000 royalty payments were paid to 1800 NIH employees,” Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) said. “We know that. Not because you told us, but because we forced you to tell us through the Freedom of Information Act.”
Between 2010 and 2021, Fauci received 37 payments from three entities, including 15 from Santa Cruz Biotechnology— which ranks fifth in royalty payments. Fauci also received 14 from Ancell Corp. and eight from Chiron Corp., which was later bought by Novartis, allowing the company to obtain significant NIH funds.
According to OpenTheBooks, names, and license numbers for each payment is absent from the records— data that the NIH initially withheld but was later forced to release by a court. This information is essential to know if there were any potential conflicts of interest.
Records also show that Fauci, the highest-paid federal worker with a 2022 salary of $480,000, failed to donate his royalties to charity as promised.

FWIW, that $300M was not for Fauci. It was cumulative for many hundreds of employees over a number of years and for many products not just Covid related ones.
It may be excessive and corrupt but not what the title said.

The backlash ensued after Skittles’ parent company, the Wrigley Company, which in turn is owned by Mars Incorporated, swapped its rainbow-colored packaging for new LGBTQ-friendly illustrations and messages.
The new packages are predominantly black and white and include phrases like "Black Trans Lives Matter" and "Joy is Resistance®," Newsweek reported.
The new-look Skittles were designed in collaboration with the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation and is the fourth year the candymaker partnered with the organization to promote tolerance and inclusion.
Although many brands have promoted similar messages for years, conservatives have seized on it in recent months, most notably a widespread boycott of Bud Light over the beer company’s affiliation with Mulvaney.
This is what a tipping point looks like, guys. Just so you know for the next time you have a bright idea like this.
The boycott of the once-popular beer has seen Anheuser-Busch’s profits plummet by nearly 30%, with a loss in core value estimated as high as $4 billion.
Florida’s Disney World amusement park and Target stores have also faced anti-gay backlashes.

Taste the Rainbow must not have achieved a high enough DEI score. In 2005 or so I had a discussion with a friend about my concern that the culture wars were headed towards a bad outcome. My friend responded that he would worry about the gay agenda when they tried to make it mandatory. In some ways we have smashed through that wall like a giant rainbow flavored KoolAid mascot decked out like a dominatrix.

Worrick purchased the package of Earthbound Farms Organic Spinach at Meijer supermarket in Southfield — and didn’t notice anything unusual about it.
"I didn’t see anything, didn’t feel heavy," she said. "I didn’t feel anything wiggling."
After making the unexpected discovery, she returned the spinach to the store and received a refund — and also brought the frog, which was relocated to a new home by its employees.

[FoxNews] Five people are confirmed dead, including four adults and an adolescent, after an explosion in Plum, Pennsylvania, destroyed several homes Saturday.
Plum Police Chief Lanny Conley confirmed to reporters on Sunday that the number of people who died in the explosion had increased from four, saying five bodies had been recovered from the scene. Conley added that the medical examiner plans to release the identities of the victims.
Addressing reporters at the scene late Saturday, Plum Police Det. James Little said all activity at the site was suspended for the evening due to the weather, darkness and concern for responders. "At this point, we have confirmed four deceased and one person is still unaccounted for," he said.
Three additional individuals were transported to area hospitals. Two individuals were transported in stable condition and have since been released from the hospital. The third remained in critical condition as of Saturday night, officials said.
Investigators have yet to disclose the suspected cause of the explosion or other details.

[NYPOST] A devastating firestorm has reduced many homes to ashes in Lahaina, a popular island tourist destination in Hawaii.
On Tuesday, brushfires fueled by high winds quickly spread and engulfed Lahaina on Maui’s western side.
The wall of flames is to blame for the death of at least 80 individuals, with a significant number of those remains discovered in Lahaina, government officials said at last check.
It makes it one of the deadliest disasters in the US state’s history.
Lahaina residents have slowly been allowed to return but forced to wait hours in their vehicles parked on the main road into town before entering the fire zone due to a nightfall curfew.
Those who have come back, or even lucky to be alive, return to charred buildings and scorched cars in the wildfires’ wake, drone footage captured Thursday by Javier Cantellops shows.
One estimate from the property data aggregator CoreLogic puts the estimate of destroyed homes at more than 3,000.
Cantellops said he was flying his drone to help assess the damage to the town.
In a presser, Hawaii Governor Josh Green says the number of confirmed deaths from the Maui wildfires has risen to 89, making it the deadliest US wildfire in more than 100 years.
Maui County later raises the confirmed corpse count to 93.
There are 2,200 structures destroyed or damaged just in West Maui, and 86% of those are residential buildings, Green says.
"The losses approach $6 billion in estimate," Green says, adding that it will take "an incredible amount of time" to recover.

They're on Oahu, but Oprah lives here (along with quite a few celebrity types) on the eastern part of the island.
Lahaina iswas on the western coast, which is considered the driest part of Maui due to the prevailing winds. It gets wetter as you travel east (over the hills) and is pretty tropical by the time you get to Hana on the easternmost point.

Days after an Ecuadorian presidential candidate was assassinated, the backing party, on Sunday, has tapped a new candidate to take his place and the FBI is working with officials to find out who was behind the murder.
Fernando Villavicencio, 59, was killed in an armed attack after a rally in the country’s capital last Wednesday, and according to reports, he had received at least three death threats leading up to the fatal shooting.
The candidate’s murder sent shockwaves through the country, with a population of about 18 million, which has seen a sharp spike in transnational criminal gang crime over the past few years.
Villavicencio was a journalist who investigated corruption from previous governments before entering the ring as a politician and anti-graft campaigner who vowed he was not afraid of the gangs, even though he received threats.
Interior minister Juan Zapata told reporters on Sunday that local police leaders and the FBI had already met and planned to meet with prosecutors leading the investigation into Villavicencio’s death.
So far, six Colombian nationals accused of having ties to criminal groups, have been charged with the crime and remain in custody. A seventh suspect died shortly after the candidate’s murder in an exchange of gunfire.
Earlier in the day, leaders of the Build party, or Construye in Spanish, announced Christian Zurita would replace Villavicencio as the party’s top candidate.
The decision came a day after party leaders chose Andrea Gonzalez, the would-be vice-presidential candidate, to replace Villavicencio in the Aug. 20 vote.
Like Villavicencio, Zurita is a journalist who had collaborated with the slain candidate. Zurita’s candidacy must be approved by the national electoral council.
"We're going to try to emulate his abilities and we're going to try to emulate his name," Zurita, who was wearing a bulletproof vest, said at a press conference.

[Stars and Stripes] GRAFENWOEHR, Germany — Work is underway on an estimated $1.3 billion expansion at the Army’s sprawling training center in rural Bavaria in what U.S. military officials call a "transformational project."
Leaders of U.S. Army Garrison Bavaria and German counterparts broke ground Friday on the Operational Readiness Training Complex at the Grafenwoehr Training Area, kicking off what is expected to be 10 years of construction, according to an Army Corps of Engineers statement Tuesday.
The complex is designed to support an entire rotational brigade and is part of a larger construction plan aimed at replacing Camp Algiers and Camp Aachen.
When complete, the Operational Readiness Training Complex will include 50 buildings and have the capacity to house 5,000 U.S. and foreign soldiers while they train at Grafenwoehr.

[Regnum] In Antarctica, a new invertebrate was discovered, the description of which had never come across in the literature before. As FOX 13 Seattle reported on August 13 , the creature has 20 arms and a strawberry-shaped body.
It received the name Promachocrinus fragarius, which means "Antarctic strawberry feather star". Despite similarities to other invertebrates, this member of the species is vastly larger than them and has a truly otherworldly appearance.
The feather star has a bright color and long tentacles. She can live at a depth of 20 meters to two kilometers under the ocean surface.
