NYC school kids who misbehave to face ‘tangible consequences’ amid tension over Israel-Hamas conflict
[Yahoo] NYC school kids who misbehave will face “tangible consequences,” as part of a series of changes education officials are making in response to growing tensions in classrooms over the conflict between Israel and Hamas.

In a major speech teased for months at district town halls and education councils, Chancellor David Banks is planning to announce Monday his administration will retrain all principals on how to apply the discipline code, and strike a balance with chances for students to learn from their mistakes.

“These trainings are important because I’ve heard that some of our school principals feel disempowered from taking meaningful disciplinary action against egregious student behavior,” Banks was expected to say at department headquarters, “even in clear-cut, common sense cases.”

“From my years as a school safety agent, a teacher, a principal, and perhaps most importantly, a father of four, I know that it is possible — and critical — to find a balance when it comes to discipline, to provide both restorative conversations and tangible consequences,” he said.

“We cannot have schools where students feel like they can do whatever they want, without accountability for their actions.”

The chancellor’s remarks to a group of mostly parents and advocates were responding to heightened concerns as the war in Gaza and the Oct. 7 terror attacks in Israel have sent shockwaves through some local school communities.

While those concerns have touched neighborhoods across NYC, the Department of Education restricted media access to Bank’s remarks.

The Daily News, along with at least two other media outlets, was barred from attending the event and could not direct questions about retraining principals to the chancellor. A spokesperson for the public schools, citing limited space and a priority for “stakeholders,” would not explain how it decided which members of the local education press corps were permitted in person.

The speech follows a series of events at NYC public schools. This month at P.S. 261 in Boerum Hill, a social media post of a Middle Eastern map used in an Arab art class that omitted Israel, labeling the region Palestine, sparked outrage online 12 years after it was introduced to the classroom.
But no outrage that the classroom teacher a dozen years ago thought this was a good idea, and nobody questioned it until now?
In prepared comments, Banks called a protest at Hillcrest High School in Jamaica targeting a Jewish teacher, who attended a pro-Israel rally just days after Hamas’ terrorist attacks, “deeply concerning.”
Ya think??
It was not immediately clear what the updated trainings would entail. But the emphasis on consequences marked a clear departure from the more progressive approach of chancellors under former mayor Bill de Blasio, who pushed schools to reduce punitive and exclusionary school discipline policies in favor of dialogue, self-reflection and lessons in impulse-control.

The overhauled trainings will start in the “coming weeks,” the chancellor said.

Later this spring, all middle and high school principals will participate in workshops on “navigating difficult conversations,” and take those lessons back to train their entire staff. Education officials are also working with the teachers and principals unions to add specific antisemitism, Islamophobia, and nondiscrimination laws components to their diversity trainings and materials.

“While we can — and should — expose students to a variety of viewpoints, we must leave our personal viewpoints at home,” Banks said. “Our job is to educate, not indoctrinate.”

Parents, too, will be invited to a series of anti-discrimination workshops starting next month.

Alongside the various trainings, the school system has expanded instructional materials on antisemitism and Islamophobia for students.

“We need to point students to reliable and objective sources about the current crisis,” Banks prepared to say, “so they develop an informed, nuanced understanding that goes beyond inflammatory rhetoric. We cannot leave it to social media to educate our children.”

Banks announced he has fast-tracked investigations into allegations of antisemitism and Islamophobia, while meeting with several Jewish and Muslim nonprofits, and convening an interfaith advisory council, as reported by The News last month.

The group is still in formation but will be chaired by Reverend Jacques DeGraff, a minister in Banks’ neighborhood of Harlem who alongside the chancellor helped found the all-boys schools network Eagle Academy. DeGraff, a Fox News contributor, made national headlines in 2021 for likening an ablaze Christmas tree outside the conservative broadcaster’s offices to Pearl Harbor.

-Short Attention Span Theater-
'Doomsday Clock' remains at 90 seconds to midnight
[GEO.TV] The symbolic "Doomsday Clock" was reset to 90 seconds to midnight on Tuesday, reflecting existential threats to humanity posed by potential nuclear escalation from the Ukraine conflict and the multiplying impacts of the climate crisis following Earth's hottest recorded year.

The clock was originally set at seven minutes to midnight.

The furthest from midnight it has ever been is 17 minutes, following the end of the Cold War in 1991.
Set by top scientists and security experts, the timing of the clock remains the same as last year and the closest it has ever been to midnight in its more than 75-year-history.

"Trends continue to point ominously towards global catastrophe," said Rachel Bronson, president and CEO of the Bulletin of Atomic Scientists. "The war in Ukraine poses an ever present risk of nuclear escalation, and the October 7 attack in Israel and war in Gazoo

provides further illustration of the horrors of modern war, even without nuclear escalation.

Rather than abandoning nuclear weapons, countries that possess them are upgrading their arsenals and threatening to create a new arms race, while massive floods, fires and other disasters marked the hottest year on record by far, with little meaningful action on climate change.

"Biological research aimed at preventing future pandemics has proven useful, but also presents the risks of causing one," she said, while recent advances in artificial intelligence (AI) raise questions about how to control a technology "that could improve or threaten civilisation in countless ways."

Armed groups converge in Cairo to discuss ceasing hostilities in Darfur
[SUDANTRIBUNE] Armed movements that signed the Juba Peace Agreement are gathering in Cairo for a workshop to discuss the possibility of reaching a ceasefire in Darfur and reducing tensions in the region.

The workshop, organized by the French organization Premediation in collaboration with the French and Egyptian Ministries of Foreign Affairs, was initially scheduled to include representatives from the Sudan

Sources close to the workshop revealed that the Sudanese army had reservations about attending, while the RSF initially expressed their approval. However,
a hangover is the wrath of grapes...
as of late Monday evening, there was no confirmation of their representatives’ arrival in Cairo.

The RSF, a paramilitary group that controls four out of five states in Darfur, has been engaged in fierce festivities with the Sudanese army since October 2023.

The workshop will focus on two key topics: 1) achieving a ceasefire in Darfur and 2) establishing a joint committee between the military authorities in the region to reduce tensions and promote coordination.

Among the armed movements attending the workshop are the Secretary of Presidential Affairs of the Gathering of Sudan Liberation Forces, Brigadier General Mubarak Bakhit, and the Vice President of the Justice and Equality Movement (JEM) led by Suleiman Sandal, Gibril Adam Bilal. Additionally, Seif al-Din Issa, Advisor to the President of the Sudan Liberation Movement Transitional Council (SLM-TC, is also participating.

However,
a hangover is the wrath of grapes...
the participation of the Sudan Liberation Movement led by Minni Arko Minawi remains uncertain. While the Justice and Equality Movement led by Gibril Ibrahim decided to boycott the meeting.

Hassan Ibrahim Fadl, JEM Spokesman acknowledged their invitation to the workshop but expressed their regret for not attending. In a statement on Monday night, he explained that the JEM decided to withdraw after learning that the RSF was invited to participate in the meeting.

The groups said that the RSF should implement the Jeddah Declaration to Cessation of Hostilities, signed on May 11, 2023, which stipulates the withdrawal of the paramilitary group from civilian areas.

Iran-backed Houthis order all US, British staff of UN to leave Yemen

Its slogan is God is Great, Death to America™, Death to Israel, a curse on the Jews They like shooting off... ummm... missiles that they would have us believe they make at home in their basements. rebels have ordered all US and British staff of the United Nations
...the Oyster Bay money pit...
and its agencies to leave the country within a month, a UN official tells AFP.

In a letter dated January 20 and shared on social media, the authorities in the Houthi-controlled capital Sanaa told the UN resident coordinator that employees with British and US nationality had one month to "prepare to leave the country."

"They must be ready to leave as soon as the deadline expires," the document said, adding that 24 hours’ notice would be given by letter.

While they only control a fraction of Yemen’s territory, the Houthis hold sway over most of the country’s population centers.

A UN official confirmed to AFP that they had received the memo.

"The UN and its partners have taken note of this and are waiting to see what are the next steps," said the official, who asked to remain anonymous.

Peter Hawkins, the UN’s humanitarian coordinator in Yemen, is himself British.

The expulsion followed joint strikes by the United States and Britannia against the Houthis aimed at ending the group’s attacks on commercial shipping in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden, threatening global trade.

The United States has launched multiple further strikes and on Tuesday carried out a second set of joint strikes with Britannia.

Last week, Washington redesignated the Houthis a "global terrorist group," having lifted it in 2021 to ease aid delivery to the impoverished country.

History teaches us and the elite, National Socialism has never ended well for any citizenry or a nation. Usually costing MILLIONS OF LIVES.

QUESTION: Are the Elite seeing the 7.5+ Billion population as no longer unmanageable and a threat to their various controls. So are they are just picking a convenient low hanging fruit (Israel & Jewish persons vs. PLO/HAMAS/GAZA) to get started?

Given the WEF and LSD & RINO's speeches and comments about population, engery & food controls. It is like they have built and agenda around the 1972 research paper called "The Limits To Growth".

To NN2N1's point of are they are just picking a convenient low hanging fruit, Biden's open border initiative allows applying more servers to the increasing requests for service.

This addresses the question of "Why is my burger cold?" by instituting more delivery agents to minimize the order aging time between the fixed service time of order cooking and the random service time of lunch order delivery.

Europe
More than 100,000 protest across Germany over far-right AfD's mass deportation meetings
[TheGuardian] Protests held at about 100 locations over party’s meeting with neo-Nazis to discuss deporting those it deems have failed to integrate, including German citizens.

More than 100,000 people turned out across Germany on Saturday in protest against the far-right Alternative für Deutschland (AfD) party, which sparked an outcry after it emerged that the party’s members discussed mass deportation plans at a meeting of extremists.

In Frankfurt, about 35,000 people joined a call under the banner “Defend democracy – Frankfurt against the AfD”, marching in the financial heart of Germany. A similar number, some carrying posters like “Nazis out”, turned up in the northern city of Hanover.
Serious protests in Germany are usually much bigger.
The protests began after it emerged AfD party members had attended meetings with neo-Nazis and other extremists to discuss the mass deportation of migrants, asylum seekers and German citizens of foreign origin deemed to have failed to integrate.
How many AfD members? A few is very different than a substantial delegation.
Among the participants at the talks near the east German city of Potsdam was Martin Sellner, a leader of Austria’s Identitarian Movement, which subscribes to the “great replacement” conspiracy theory that claims there is a plot by non-white migrants to replace Europe’s “native” white population.
For a segment of the colonists from the Middle East that is a long-standing plan, not a plot — they’re making hegira to incorporate Europe into the Ummah. It’s a plan for a segment of Western Europe’s ruling elite, too, anxious to use immigrants to replace the falling native population. They mean well, but as Bat Ye’or documented, it’s been going in for decades.
News of the gathering sent shock waves across Germany at a time when the AfD is soaring in opinion polls, just months ahead of three major regional elections in eastern Germany where their support is strongest.

#5  I don't like the AfD but I didn't go. Main reason was because one of the organizers of the demonstration was the German section of "Fridays for Future" (who blame Israel for "genocide" in Gaza). Seriously.

Unfortunately Charlotte Knobloch, who has for many years been one of the primary leaders of the Jewish community in Munich, as President of the Israelitische Kultusgemeinde München und Oberbayern, did prominently attend.

The significance of that "secret meeting" is overblown. The media made people think that the AfD (who didn't organize the meeting) would deport German citizens they didn't like.

As a matter of fact, the German Basic Law allows the withdrawal of German citizenship if the person isn't becoming stateless. So only people with dual citizenship would have been affected and the idea was that people who want to create a sharia state in Germany should lose German citizenship.

New poll of US voters finds overwhelming support for Israel over Hamas in ongoing war
[IsraelTimes] A new Harvard CAPS-Harris poll published this week of over 2,300 registered US voters found overwhelming support for Israel over Hamas
...the braying voice of Islamic Resistance®,...
in the ongoing war, triggered by the terror group’s October 7 murderous rampage.
Harvard must be so disappointed in us deplorables.
In the poll, 83% of respondents said October 7 was a terror attack, while 17% said it was not. Broken down by age group, 94% of respondents aged over 65 said the attack — in which 1,200 people killed and 253 taken hostage — was terrorism, while 74% of those aged 18-24 said the same.

In addition, 74% of respondents said Hamas’s attack was genocidal and 75% of all respondents said the assault could not be justified by Paleostinian grievances. These answers varied widely by age group. Some 54% of respondents aged 18-24 said the attacks were not justified, compared to 78% among participants aged 45-54, 87% of those aged 54-65, and 92% of those aged over 65.

Eighty percent of all respondents also said they support Israel more over Hamas, including 57% among those aged 18-24, about 70% for those aged 25-44, 80% of 45-54 year olds, 90% of those 54-65, and 93% of those over 65.

Most respondents, 69%, said Israel was trying to avoid civilian casualties in Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. , and 66% said Israel was just trying to defend itself. Some 34% said they believe Israel was "committing genocide" in Gaza and not acting in self-defense.

Some 74% also said Hamas would like to commit genocide against Jews in Israel.

Overall, 67% of respondents said a ceasefire should only happen if the hostages are released and Hamas is removed from power in Gaza.

The poll was conducted among 2,346 registered US voters on January 17 and 18. The margin of error was not immediately available.

Yeah,self-defense does not mean making a territory uninhabitable and then removing the population. That's ethnic cleansing. And ethnic cleansing is a form of genocide.

2 Malaysian inmates at Guantanamo to be sentenced, possibly released
[BenarNews] A judge at a U.S. military court in Guantanamo Bay has recommended that two Malaysians who pleaded guilty to the 2002 Bali bombings serve 20 to 25 years in prison and be repatriated or released to a third country. The fate of Mohammad bin Lep,
...in our archives as Mohammed Nazir bin Lep and Mohammad Nazir Lep, he’s one of the two Malaysians arrested with Hambali back in 2003...
47, and Mohammad bin Amin,

48 — who have been incarcerated at the U.S. Naval Base in Cuba for 17 years — will be determined during a sentencing hearing scheduled to begin there next week. Their sentencing will mark only the second military trial to be completed at the controversial prison set up by the United States at Guantanamo in the wake of the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks.

Judge Wesley Braun, a U.S. Air Force officer hearing the case, noted on Wednesday that their plea agreements include a provision allowing live testimony or written statements from victims and relatives or people who were killed in the deadliest terror attack ever to hit Indonesia, which claimed 202 lives.

Punjab bans gun sex aerial firing, display of weapons amid security risks ahead of February 8 polls
[GEO.TV] The provincial government in Punjab

2.) A province of Pakistain ruled by one of the Sharif brothers
3.) A province of India. It is majority (60 percent) Sikh and Hindoo (37 percent), which means it has relatively few Moslem riots....

has imposed Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) across the province in the wake of security risks ahead of the February 8 general elections, which have gripped the entire country as the clock ticks towards the polls.

The provincial home department Tuesday evening notified of imposing Section 144, according to which there would be a complete ban on the exhibition of arms and gun sex in Punjab, which is the most populous province and the heartland of politics.

Moreover, the adherence to the Election Commission of Pakistain's (ECP) code of conduct for the upcoming polls also falls under the imposed law, the notification read.

It stated there are reports of security threats and the likelihood of "terrorism" and quarrels between election candidates during the ongoing electioneering.

According to the home department's notification, Section 144 has been imposed till February 12 and any violation would result in action by the authorities.

It may be noted that the ECP has sought 277,000 army personnel to be deployed across the country to maintain security, and law and order situation across the country during the upcoming polls, and the Ministry of Interior Tuesday has remitted its summary regarding the deployment of forces.

"Last week’s clear and repeated rejection of the two-state solution at the highest levels of the Israeli government is unacceptable," Guterres said in a speech to the Security Council.

"This refusal, and the denial of the right to statehood to the Paleostinian people, would indefinitely prolong a conflict that has become a major threat to global peace and security," Guterres told the meeting.

Guterres called for the universal recognition of "right of the Paleostinian people to build their own fully independent state."

CBI freezes assets of Fly Baghdad after U.S. sanctions: source
[Shafaq News] The Central Bank of Iraq (CBI) has blocked access to three accounts that belong to Fly Baghdad following the announcement of U.S. sanctions on the Baghdad-based no-frill carrier on Monday, a source revealed.

In a statement on Monday, the U.S. Treasury Department slapped sanctions on Fly Baghdad and its CEO, Basheer Abdulkadhim Alwan al-Shabbani, accusing them of "providing assistance to the Quds Force," the foreign operations arm of the Revolutionary Guards, "by delivering material and personnel throughout the region" including weapons.

Fly Baghdad condemned Washington's sanctions, saying the US Treasury provided no proof of its allegation the airline had assisted Iran's Revolutionary Guards.

The low-cost carrier, which offers flights to Aleppo, Beirut, Damascus, Dubai, Istanbul, Mumbai, and Tehran, said its services were "continuing as usual and have not been suspended."

On Monday, the Treasury also announced that it had imposed new sanctions against "three leaders and supporters" of Kataeb Hezbollah, a pro-Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. gang in Iraq.

It accused Kataeb Hezbollah of having "used Fly Baghdad flights on multiple occasions to transport bags of US currency and US-made weapons ... from Iraq to Leb
...an Iranian satrapy currently ruled by Hassan Nasrallah situated on the eastern Mediterranean, conveniently adjacent to Israel. Formerly inhabited by hardy Phoenecian traders, its official language is now Arabic, with the usual unpleasant side effects. The Leb civil war, between 1975 and 1990, lasted a little over 145 years and produced 120,000 fatalities. The average length of a ceasefire was measured in seconds. The Lebs maintain a precarious sectarian balance among Shiites, Sunnis, and about a dozen flavors of Christians, plus Armenians, Georgians, and who knows what else? It is the home of the original Hezbollah, which periodically starts a war with the Zionist Entity, gets Beirut pounded to rubble, and then declares victory and has a parade. The Lebs have the curious habit of periodically murdering their heads of state or prime ministers...
It also accused Fly Baghdad of having transferred "hundreds of Iraqi fighters" affiliated with pro-Iran groups "in support of the Iranian proxies' attacks on Israel."

U.S. Treasury imposes sanctions on an Iraqi lawmaker

The U.S. Department of the Treasury on Monday said it has officially sanctioned Hossein Moanes al-Ibudi, an Iraqi politician and senior member of the Iran-aligned Kata'ib Hezbollah group, for his alleged role in supporting the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and its proxy network.

Al-Ibudi, known as Hossein Moanes, is the leader of Huqouq movement, the political wing of Kata'ib Hezbollah and a member of the Iraqi parliament. Previously, he served as the chief of government relations in the movemet.

A blurb by the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) said that the Iraqi politician said that Moanes was involved in "gathering intelligence on, kidnapping, or even assassinating Iraqis identified as working with the United States as well as planning terrorist attacks on civilian targets with the help of the IRGC Quds Force."

According to the blurb, these sanctions are part of a broader U.S. effort to target individuals and entities supporting the IRGC-QF and its proxies.

Kata'ib Hezbollah has faced accusations of escalating drone and missile attacks against U.S. personnel in Iraq and Syria, with ties to recent actions following Hamas
...a contraction of the Arabic words for "frothing at the mouth",...
's attack on Israel.

Brian E. Nelson, Under Secretary for Terrorism and Financial Intelligence, emphasized, "Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan. The abbreviation IRGC is the same idea as Stürmabteilung (or SA). The term Supreme Guide is a the modern version form of either Duce or Führer or maybe both. They hate Jews Zionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol...
and its proxies have sought to abuse regional economies and use seemingly legitimate businesses as cover for funding and facilitating their attacks. The United States will continue to disrupt Iran's illicit activities aimed at undermining the stability of the region."

Sanctions against al-Ibudi are being imposed under Executive Order 13224, targeting Death Eaters and their supporters. Kata'ib Hezbollah was previously designated as a Specially Designated Global Terrorist (SDGT) and a Foreign Terrorist Organization (FTO) by the U.S. government.

Hossein Moanes al-Ibudi is also accused of materially assisting, sponsoring, or providing financial, material, or technological support to Kata'ib Hezbollah.

Top PA diplomat: Hamas can be incorporated into PLO if it recognizes Israel, drops military wing
And maybe the horse will learn to sing.
[IsraelTimes] Paleostinian Authority Foreign Minister Riyad al-Maliki says Hamas
...a regional Iranian catspaw,...
can join the Paleostine Liberation Organization if it recognizes Israel and drops its military wing.

"If they agree to our conditions that they have to... accept all international resolutions pertaining to Paleostine," Maliki begins saying in an interview with Euronews.

The PA foreign minister is then cut off by the interviewer who asks whether this also means Hamas would have to recognize Israel as the PLO has done.

"Yes, absolutely... We cannot just... ignore Israel’s existence while Israel is there already occupying the whole of Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
and continuing to occupy... the West Bank and East Jerusalem," Maliki responds.

"If Hamas comes to agree on all these terms, then we will do our utmost in order to incorporate them and to turn Hamas into a political party without any military wing," he adds.

While they are both headed by the ineffectual Mahmoud Abbas
...aka Abu Mazen, a graduate of the prestigious unaccredited Patrice Lumumba University in Moscow with a doctorate in Holocaust Denial. While no Yasser Arafat, he has his own brand of evil, just a little more lowercase....
, the PLO is supposed to be distinct from the PA, with the former serving as the umbrella political body representing Paleostinians worldwide and the latter acting as the governing entity in parts of the West Bank.

’s underground without being detected.

Citing sources close to the terror group’s leadership, the daily reports that Hamas and its military wing, the al-Qassam Brigades, have relied since 2009 on a terrestrial communications network that was initially developed by al-Qassam engineers and was upgraded over the years with technology smuggled in from abroad.

Switchboards were reportedly installed underground and connected to old landlines above the ground.

The sources add that Israel has been aware of the system for years, and has attempted to hack it or destroy it several times.

The network was reportedly still in function at the outbreak of the war, and was used to discuss the details of the November truce with Israel and the release of hostages, sources say. Some people were tasked with looping in the group’s leadership abroad, and relaying decisions made in Gaza through the use of encrypted software.

After the conclusion of the truce and in light of IDF advances on the ground inside Gaza, the Hamas leadership has been reportedly forced to resort to a more rudimentary method of communications — by exchanging written messages on pieces of paper carried by Hamas members and aides.

The same method is used to convey messages to those who are in contact with the leadership abroad. The latter, however, are not entitled to make decisions without the approval of the top level inside the Strip, particularly Yahya Sinwar, sources say.
