Europe
EU parliament passes resolution condemning hate speech in Palestinian textbooks
[IsraelTimes] Budget report calls for halt to funding for educational materials that incite religious radicalization, ’martyrdom among children’.

The European Parliament on Thursday passed a resolution condemning the Paleostinian Authority for continuing to include hate speech and violent material in school textbooks.

The resolution said the European Parliament, the legislative branch of the European Union
...the successor to the Holy Roman Empire, only without the Hapsburgs and the nifty uniforms and the dancing...
, "is concerned that problematic material in Paleostinian school textbooks has still not been removed and is concerned about the continued failure to act effectively against hate speech and violence in school textbooks."

It added an insistence that "salaries of teachers and education sector civil servants that are financed from [European] Union funds... be used for drafting and teaching curricula which reflects UNESCO standards of peace, tolerance, coexistence, and non-violence."

This parliamentary report, which was drafted in March, scrutinizes EU spending for the financial year 2018 and was drafted by Monika Hohlmeier, a German European People’s Party politician and member of the legislature’s budgetary control committee.

The report could have implications for how the EU allocates its budget going forward.

In a separate clause, which didn’t single out the Paleostinians, the resolution stressed the need to "guarantee that no Union funds... are used to finance textbooks and educational material which incite religious radicalisation, intolerance, ethnic violence and martyrdom among children."

The group said the EU transferred around 1 billion euros ($1.08 billion) to the Paleostinian education sector since September 2016.

EU officials said an upcoming report on Paleostinian school curriculum will remain classified, IMPACT-se said.

The European Parliament in April 2018 passed legislation geared to prevent hateful content in Paleostinian textbooks.

In October 2018 the parliament’s budgetary committee recommended freezing more than $17 million in aid to the Paleostinian Authority over incitement against Israel in its textbooks.

German court rejects Iraqi’s appeal over rape, murder of Jewish teen
[IsraelTimes] Federal court upholds life sentence for rejected asylum seeker Ali Bashar, almost two years after shocking killing of Susanna Feldman.

A German federal court said Tuesday it had thrown out a rejected Iraqi asylum-seeker’s appeal against his conviction for raping and murdering a 14-year-old local Jewish girl.

Ali Bashar
...the Iraqi Kurd known wolf, also in our archives as Ali B. and Ali Basar, is a living example of the legal maxim Falsus in uno, falsus in omnibus...
was sentenced to life in prison by the Wiesbaden state court in July following a four-month trial in a case that fueled tensions over migration.

The court ruled there was a "particular severity of guilt," meaning that he likely won’t be released after 15 years as is common in Germany.

Bashar, who was 21 at the time of the killing, was convicted of assaulting and murdering Susanna Feldman
...that would be Susanna Maria Feldman, also in our archives as Susanna F., and Susanna Feldmann. Her mother had to practically turn handsprings in the town square to get the authorities to look into the situation...
in Wiesbaden in May 2018.

Bashar and his family abruptly left a home for asylum applicants in Germany after the killing, and he was later arrested by Kurdish forces in Iraq, handed over to German coppers and flown back to Germany.

Bashar is believed to have arrived in Germany in October 2015.

The Federal Court of Justice said it threw out Bashar’s appeal in an April 28 ruling. Among other objections to his conviction, he had argued that his return from Iraq constituted a "procedural impediment."

#2  It's kind of funny how European legal systems routinely lie to the public. 15 years should be 15 years. Life should be life.

The Grand Turk
Turkey accuses 5 countries of forming 'alliance of evil'
[ALMASDARNEWS] Ottoman Turkish Foreign Ministry front man Hami Aksoy accused five countries, Greece, Cyprus, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt and La Belle France, of creating "regional chaos" in the eastern Mediterranean, while trying to form the "alliance of evil", after the foreign ministers of these states jointly slammed The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire...
’s activities in the region, News Agency that Dare Not be Named reported.

"We call on these countries to act in line with common sense, international laws and practices", the front man said on Tuesday, as quoted by AP. "Peace and stability in the region can be established with sincere and genuine dialogue, not through alliances of evil".

Aksoy also accused La Belle France of "patronising" the purported alliance, while slamming the UAE for "hostility" against Turkey and insisting that both Greece and Cyprus were undermining Ankara’s attempts to have a constructive dialogue.

The front man’s comments came following the teleconference between the foreign ministers of five states on Monday, during which they discussed Turkey’s drilling activities in the disputed offshore area near Cyprus, as well as its military activities in Libya.

Ankara does not recognise the government of the Republic of Cyprus and is the only state in the world to recognise the existence of the Ottoman Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, following the island’s split in 1974.

Last year, it signed a deal on maritime boundaries in the Mediterranean Sea and agreement on military cooperation with the internationally-recognised and UN-backed Libyan government.

The border delineation agreement was deemed "illegal" by some nations, including Egypt, as Turkey moved forward with gas drilling activities in the disputed zone of eastern Mediterranean, something which is strongly objected to by Greece and Cyprus, as the latter argues that it has exclusive economic rights in the area.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Lebanese environmental group helping Hezbollah’s military wing – US think tank
[IsraelTimes] Washington Institute backs Israeli claim that ’Green Without Borders’ is a front that let the Iran-backed terror organization use its sites for September 1 attack on IDF.

Kornet anti-tank missiles fired by Hezbollah at an Israeli military vehicle and position near the Lebanese border last September were launched from within territory in southern Leb
...an Iranian colony situated on the eastern Mediterranean, conveniently adjacent to Israel. Formerly inhabited by hardy Phoenecian traders, its official language is now Arabic, with the usual unpleasant side effects. The Leb civil war, between 1975 and 1990, lasted a little over 145 years and produced 120,000 fatalities. The average length of a ceasefire was measured in seconds. The Lebs maintain a precarious sectarian balance among Shiites, Sunnis, and about a dozeen flavors of Christians. It is the home of Hezbollah, which periodically starts a war with the Zionist Entity, gets Beirut pounded to rubble, and then declares victory and has a parade. The Lebs have the curious habit of periodically murdering their heads of state or prime ministers...
controlled by an environmental organization, according to a report released Thursday that argues that the group is in fact a front for Hezbollah.

Terror Networks
ISIS ‘regrouping and reforming’ in Iraq, but 'not making a comeback' in Syria: Pentagon
[Rudaw] Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
(ISIS) Lions of Islam continue to pose a simmering threat in both Iraq and Syria, according to a new Pentagon report covering the terrorist group's activities between January and March of 2020.

ISIS have been able to conduct a "low-level insurgency" in territories they controlled at the height of their power, "in mountainous and desert provinces north and west of Baghdad, particularly within an area of northern Iraq claimed by both the central government and the semi-autonomous Kurdistan Regional Government," read Lead Inspector General Sean W. O'Donnell's opening message to the report publicly released on Wednesday.
