Oklahoma drivers now have immunity from hitting rioters in streets under new law signed by Gov. Stitt
See here for more about the BLM response.
[AmMilitaryNews] Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt signed legislation Wednesday that will protect drivers who injure or kill demonstrators while attempting to escape a riot, in addition to increasing penalties for individuals who intentionally block roadways.

"We are sending a message today in Oklahoma that rioters who threaten law abiding citizens’ safety will not be tolerated. I remain unequivocally committed to protecting every Oklahoman’s First Amendment right to peacefully protest as well as their right to feel safe in their community," Stitt said, according to CNN
...formerly the Cable News Network, now who know what it might stand for...
Introduced by Republican state Rep. Kevin West, H.B. 1674 makes willfully blocking traffic a misdemeanor punishable by up to a year in jail and a $5,000 fine. Motorists will also be protected from criminal or civil charges if they hit a rioter while attempting to escape, and that rioter is injured or killed.

The bill passed the Oklahoma House last month by a vote of 79-18 and passed the Senate 38-10 on April 14.

"Every person who shall knowingly and willfully obstruct the normal use of any public street, highway or road within this state by impeding, hindering or restraining motor vehicle traffic or passage thereon, by standing or approaching motor vehicles thereon, or by endangering the safe movement of motor vehicles or pedestrians traveling thereon shall, upon conviction, be guilty of a misdemeanor," the legislation states.

Advocates of the bill said it targets violent mostly peaceful protesters while supporting peaceful protests.

"I fully agree that peaceful protests are a right of the people, and I condone anyone who wants to protest peacefully," said state Rep. Kevin McDugle, co-author of the bill. "Once anyone impedes on the freedoms of others, however, the protest is no longer peaceful."

A group of demonstrators briefly disrupted House proceedings Wednesday in protest of a number of bills awaiting the governor’s signature, including H.B. 1674, NBC 4 reported.

"There’s just so much going on in this session that’s wrong and it’s inherently hurtful to the people of Oklahoma and we’re not going to stand for it," said Adriana Laws, the president and founder of the Collegiate Freedom and Justice Coalition.

"You cannot just run somebody over and it be okay because your justification is you felt you were threatened," Laws continued. "I feel threatened everyday as a black woman in society."

The law comes less than a day after a Minneapolis jury found Derek Chauvin guilty of all three charges in the death of George Floyd, who died while in police custody last year, sparking months of protests, riots, and calls for police reforms.

-War on Police-
Derek Chauvin Being Kept in Solitary Confinement
Here’s hoping it goes better for him than for Jeffrey Epstein.
[EpochTimes] Former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin is being kept isolated in prison as he awaits sentencing following his conviction on three counts in the death of George Floyd.

Chauvin was booked into the Oak Park Heights prison in Stillwater on Tuesday at 4:55 p.m., about an hour after hearing the jury’s decision to convict him of second-degree murder, third-degree murder, and second-degree manslaughter charges in Floyd’s May 25, 2020, killing.

Chauvin is being kept on "administrative segregation" status for his own safety, Sarah Fitzgerald, a spokeswoman for the Minnesota Department of Corrections, told The Epoch Times in an email.

"Administrative segregation is used when someone’s presence in the general population is a safety concern. It’s unknown how long he will be there," she said.

As part of the effort to keep the former officer safe, he is being housed in the facility Administrative Control unit, the most secure unit inside the state’s only maximum-security prison.

There are 41 people in the unit and cells are monitored by cameras. Correctional officers do rounds at least every 30 minutes.

According to the Minnesota Department of Corrections website, the unit houses individuals for disciplinary reasons as well as concerns of an inmate’s safety.

It is used in some cases when an inmate’s presence in the jail’s general population "could pose a particular safety concern," it states.

Chauvin will have on average one hour for exercise out of his cell. Meals will be delivered and taken inside the cell.

"He is in a single cell and will not have contact with other incarcerated people," Fitzgerald said.

Chauvin was allowed to take items like clothing, writing paper, and toothpaste into the unit with him. Personal mail, legal materials, and an address book are also allowed, among other items. Certain reading materials like newspapers may be approved by officers.

Chauvin’s lawyer, Eric Nelson, has not responded to requests for comment, including inquiries regarding how Chauvin is doing in jail.

Chauvin is scheduled to remain at Oak Park Heights until he’s sentenced. The sentencing is reportedly set for June 16.

But I've heard that solitary is really like a form of torture because it messes with the mind. I dunno but, from the pictures I've seen of Chauvin, he looks like he could handle himself in the general population and then he'd have witnesses in case somebody tried to Epstein him.

Afghanistan
Afghanistan: Over 120 People Killed in Violence in 10 Days
[ToloNews] Data collected by TOLOnews show that 44 civilians and 81 security force members were killed in separate security incidents and Taliban
...Arabic for students...
attacks across Afghanistan since the start of the holy month of Ramadan on April 13.

The statistics show that 79 security members and 33 non-combatants were killed during this period.

The Ministry of Defense said that the Taliban also suffered "massive" casualties in their attacks during this period.

Watchdog organizations asked the warring parties to show restraint and stop further violence.

"There is a need for political ways for a lasting peace," said Laal Gul Laal, the head of the Human Rights Organization.

In Mohammad Agha district of Pashtun-infested Logar, residents claimed that a doctor and his son who was a recruit of police academy were killed during an operation by security forces on Thursday night.

Victims’ families called for punishment of the perpetrators.

"If actions not taken, we will go to the main road and will block it so that justice can prevail," said Adalat Abdul Rahimzai, a relative of the victim.

A source on condition of anonymity said that the two people were killed in an encounter with security forces during the operation."Casualties among civilians and military personnel are quite high," said MP Khan Agha Rezaee.

"The Taliban have not halted their destructive activities even during Ramadan and they have continued their attacks on the Afghan people," said Rohullah Ahmadzai, front man for the Ministry of Defense.

Kabul Car Sales Drop as Afghans Brace for Post-US Future
[ToloNews] Kabul car dealers interviewed by TOLOnews on Thursday said that business has significantly dropped after the announcement that foreign forces would withdraw, even as a peace settlement remains uncertain and violence in the country continues unabated.

Dealers said that the people prefer to keep their cash and not spend it on property or cars.

"Previously our youth were coming here with a lot of hope and enthusiasm to buy a car, but now the youth come and sell their cars at half price and they want to leave the country," said Qayoum, a car dealer in the Qasaba area of Kabul.

"The people do not discuss buying a car, many want to sell their cars," said Daud, a car dealer.

"There is no business, no one can buy or sell a house, the people consult and register their property for sale, but buyers don't have confidence," said Arif Ahmadi, a property dealer in Kabul.

"We appeal to the international community to pursue a clear policy toward our country, we call on the politicians and the government to give people hope," said a resident in Kabul named Hamid.

In the 20 years that the United States has been in Afghanistan, tens of thousands of Afghans have worked with the US military and non-military organizations, but many of them are facing an uncertain future.

[ENGLISH.AAWSAT] The al-Azhar Observatory for Combating Extremism has launched a campaign to raise awareness about extremism.

The campaign was announced on the occasion of the 10th of Ramadan victory that witnessed Israel’s defeat by Egypt and its reclamation of the Suez in 1973.
Only in the Ummah does saying it make it so.
The campaign includes messages of awareness to the youths about the value of the nation and their role in achieving development and prosperity amid the major challenges in the region and the threat of murderous Moslem groups.

In a statement, al-Azhar said the campaign was being launched at a time when terrorist organizations were escalating their hostile rhetoric against nations and undermining their values.

The Observatory was therefore prompted to respond to those claims.

It will release its messages in 13 languages. They will refute the claims of the murderous Moslem groups that contradict the values of religion and nations.

Europe
Denmark tells some Syrians to leave, separating families
When you’ve lost the Social Democrats on immigration...
[Rudaw] An email brought Faeza Satouf’s world to a standstill.

The 25-year-old Syrian refugee had fled the civil war with her family in an all-too-familiar journey across the sea to Europe, where they finally arrived in Denmark and were granted asylum in 2015. Yet six years later, she was being told she had to go back — alone, and soon.

The Danish government argues that it made clear to the Syrians from the beginning that they were being offered only temporary protection.
Ten years after the start of the uprising against Bashir al-Assad’s regime, Denmark has become the first European country to start revoking the residency permits of some Syrian refugees, arguing that the Syrian capital, Damascus, and neighboring regions are safe.

" during his term as the "white supremacist-in-chief." Despite all of the vitriolic scorn that the Black Lives Matter organization has launched at former President Trump, BLM recently went on the attack of Biden, and said he is "sending more military equipment to our neighborhoods than Trump did."

A post on the official Black Lives Matter website elaborated on the organization's stance on the militarized police, "The Law Enforcement Support Office, known as the 1033 Program, allows the transfer of surplus military-grade equipment to local law enforcement agencies across the country. It includes school and campus police, too."

"Over $7 billion has gone to the law enforcement agencies since its creation under the Clinton administration," BLM declared. "Disappointingly enough, the flow of military equipment to police under the 1033 Program has accelerated under the Biden administration — and based on recent reporting, police might just receive even more military equipment under the Biden administration than they did with the Trump administration."

The Grand Turk
Turkey's EU Candidacy Must Be Suspended if No Change, EU Lawmakers Say
[ENGLISH.AAWSAT] The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire...
's membership negotiations to join the European Union
...the successor to the Holy Roman Empire, only without the Hapsburgs and the nifty uniforms and the dancing...
should be formally suspended if Ankara continues on its autocratic track, EU politicians said on Friday, saying a decision was urgent as basic freedoms in the country are curtailed.

Lawmakers in the European Parliament's Foreign Affairs Committee voted 49 in favor, four against and with 14 abstentions on their report on Turkey's EU candidacy, which now goes to the full plenary next month and, if accepted, becomes the parliament's official position.

After years of stalemate on Turkey's bid to join the world's biggest trading bloc, negotiations launched in 2005 have come to a halt, although they are not officially suspended.

EU governments say President His Enormity, Sultan Recep Tayyip Erdogan the First
...Turkey's version of Mohammed Morsi but they voted him back in so they deserve him. It's a sin, a shame, and a felony to insult the president of Turkey. In Anatolia did Recep Bey a stately Presidential Palace decree, that has 1100 rooms. That's 968 more than in the White House, 400 more than in Versailles, and 325 more than Buckingham Palace, so you know who's really more important...
's crackdown on dissidents, and his increasingly autocratic rule with sweeping presidential powers lacking checks and balances, have taken the country on a path away from the bloc.

Turkey's hydrocarbon exploration of contested waters in the eastern Mediterranean has also angered EU leaders. Erdogan, whose government has launched what diplomats say is a charm offensive this year to seek better ties, has said he will walk away from EU membership talks if there is no progress.

"This report is probably the toughest ever in its criticism towards the situation in Turkey," said Nacho Sanchez, a center-left Spanish EU politician who led parliamentary discussions.

"It reflects all that has unfortunately happened in the country in the last two years, in particular in the fields of human rights
One man's rights are another man's existential threat.
and rule of law," he said.

In Erdogan's early days as prime minister in 2003, Turkey's EU candidacy gathered pace as his government brought stability, attracted foreign investment and outlawed the death penalty
in 2004, a central demand of EU foreign policy.

EU officials and diplomats now say that Turkey no longer meets the democratic criteria to be considered a candidate, let alone a full member, for the EU, a club of democratic countries who aim to coordinate policy focused on human rights.

In the Foreign Affairs Committee report, EU politicians said the formal suspension of EU membership talks should take place, followed by a review, in order to consider other ways to maintain close ties with Turkey.

The European Union is Turkey's biggest foreign investor and biggest trading partner, while Turkey shares a border with Iraq, Syria and with Russia in the Black Sea.

The EU politicians' vote took place on Thursday. The results were announced on Friday.

Biden Poised To Declare Turkish Genocide Against Armenians
[WSJ] WASHINGTON; President Biden is poised to formally declare that the massacres of Armenians in the early 20th century constituted genocide, U.S. officials said, a rare step that would further inflame ties with Turkey.

Mr. Biden is expected to describe as genocide the deportation, starvation and massacres of Armenians at the hands of the Ottoman Turks beginning in 1915, the officials said.
[Then there is the Turkish ethnic cleaning vs Syriac and Greek Christians and we could acknowledge that the Kurds helped in the Armenian Genocide and then there is the Soviet Genocide of Ukraine]
Turkey denies the killings constituted genocide, saying that Armenians rose up against the government. Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu told Haberturk television on Tuesday that a declaration by Mr. Biden would only harm ties. A spokesman for the Turkish embassy in Washington had no immediate comment.

Most historians recognize the Ottoman Empire’s treatment of Armenians and members of other ethnic and religious minorities from 1915 to 1923 as a genocide.

With Plugz, it might come out as "I declare as an executive order, effective immediately, that there be a genocide against the Armenians..."

Iraq
Iraqi markets on the brink of collapse after floating the Dinar
[SHAFAQ] Iraqi citizens are deeply concerned after many, including state officials, talked about the possibility of floating the local currency. It would be another blow to the Iraqi Dinar after the dollar was already raised in this year's budget.

According to specialists, the state's tendency to float the currency would raise the dollar again. That would decrease the confidence in Iraqi Dinar and increase prices in the markets, which will harm large segments of the people, especially the poor, who exceed 30% of the Iraqi population

However,
alcohol has never solved anybody's problems. But then, neither has milk...
other experts believe that the financial reality prevents the currency float due to the nature of the rentier economy, the lack of diversity of financing sources, as well as the Central Bank's active role in supporting the Iraqi Dinar.

Floating the currency is a complete liberalization of the currency exchange rate, with no interference by the Government or the Central Bank, but is automatically excreted in the currency market through the supply and mechanism's demand that allows the national currency' exchange rate to be determined against foreign currencies.

"The current price of Iraq's currency against the U.S. dollar after its devaluation will continue for a long time, and a full currency float may occur in the future", Finance Minister Ali Allawi stated.

"The Central Bank will work to maintain the current exchange rate level for as long as possible", he said.

The Central Bank is selling the dollar at its daily auction to finance foreign trade, which currently stands at about 200 million dollars, increasing or decreasing on demand.

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) reported that Iraq's economy contracted by 11% in 2020, reflecting a slowdown in economic activities.

The IMF expects Iraq's GDP to return to pre-COVID-19 pandemic level by 2024.

Iraq is OPEC's second-largest producer, after Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
, and oil revenues account for about 96% of the country's total public revenues.

"It is not permissible to float the currency in Iraq because the market will collapse in this case. The entry and exit of foreign currency are not only through the market - which is a way out for it - but the government is the one that brings this currency", Prime Minister's adviser, Mudhhir Mohammed Salih's told Shafaq News agency.

He also added, "If the government withdraws, supply will stop, and demand will increase, so the market will collapse. Currency floating is in economies where supply and demand come from the market, and the state intervenes to sell and buy to balance the price with its reserves".

Salih further elaborated, "The problem in Iraq is that the market is asking and that the state is offering. If the Central Bank does not sell the dollar, the whole supply stops, and there would be no other offer, and even if there is another offer, it will not be enough to meet the demand, so prices will rise because demand will be more than supply".

Iraq's Resurgent Paramilitaries use telegram in fostering new identities, Report
[SHAFAQ] Paramilitary surrogates are popping up in Iraq with strong links to existing murderous Moslem networks. The application Telegram has been crucial in fostering new paramilitary identities. Carnegie endowment for international peace reported.

The research center said "Iraqi paramilitary groups opposing U.S.-led coalition forces, including Iran-backed Kata’ib Hezbollah (KH) and Asa’ib Ahl al-Haq (AAH), use Telegram to create new groups that publicize their attacks. For prominent groups, this cultivation of new murderous Moslem identities taking credit for attacks on U.S.-led troops deflects attention from their responsibility, complicating U.S.-reprisals and deflecting domestic political pressures."

According to the research center, nearly two dozen new Telegram channels have materialized over the past year alone and claim to represent previously unknown paramilitary groups, roughly 75 percent of the emergent organizations are paramilitary, and 25 percent are armed vigilantes.

Al-Sadr condemns parties seeking to disturb security in Iraq to delay or cancel the elections
[SHAFAQ] The leader of the Sadrist movement, Moqtada Tater al-Sadr
...hereditary Iraqi holy man and leader of a political movement in Iraq. He had his hereditary rival al-Khoei assassinated shortly after the holy rival's appearance out of exile in 2003. Formerly an Iranian catspaw, lately he's gagged over some of their more outlandish antics, then went back to catspawry...
, stressed the need for Iraq to achieve peace, accusing parties of seeking to disturb security in Iraq to delay or cancel the elections.

Al-Sadr said in a tweet, "there are parties that want to disturb security in Iraq for many reasons, the most important of which is delaying or canceling the elections, through some unruly militias that target the occupying forces to dissuade them from withdrawing -as their presence means the survival of those militias- or through involving Iraq into an external conflict, and linking it to the Syrian-Israeli conflict."

He added, "had not we have enough for war, killing, displacement, and bombing ... So let us achieve peace away from weapons or violence, so that we can live in our homeland without foreign agendas and bowing."

He continued, "Iraq needs peace, without resurrection, destruction, terrorism, occupation, normalization, violence, fighting, bloodshed, liquidations, plunder, burning, military deployment, outlaws, armed militia, smuggling, arms trade, religious or ideological conflicts... We are all brothers in Iraq, and we all are our homeland's soldiers. We are all equal in Iraq."

Israel Labor Party Chief Proposes Forming Government with Arabs
This is why hardly anyone in Israel votes Labour.
[ENGLISH.AAWSAT] Head of Israel’s Labor Party Merav Michaeli has suggested forming a government, including both Arab lists and led by Yair Lapid.

In an unprecedented step, Michaeli submitted the proposal to her colleagues in the liberal right, centrist and left-wing parties.

The Labor party is considered the founder of the Zionist movement and the Jewish state,
...by some including themselves, certainly...
and it established the policy of casting Arabs aside and discriminating against them.

"Israel has been going through a historic change in its relations with Arabs," she said.

"They (Arabs) have been excluded from the partnership for decades, following the racist incitement campaign led by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu since 1993," she explained.

However,
a good lie finds more believers than a bad truth...
she affirmed that Jews have come to accept their presence.

Michaeli noted that Netanyahu has recently changed his rhetoric and now considers partnership with them legitimate and conducts a positive dialogue to form an alliance with the Islamic movement.

She recalled his fight against Arab presence in his alliance with Yitzhak Rabin, explicit warnings against the flow of Arabs to the ballot boxes and his bloody incitement that led to Rabin’s liquidation.

The Labor chief emphasized that a government including Arabs can be formed within days for having a majority of 61 deputies.

"Lapid’s centrist Yesh Atid party has 17 seats, Benny Gantz’s Blue and White has 8 seats, Labor Party and Avigdor Lieberman’s Yisrael Beiteinu party each has 7 seats, in addition to Ayman Ode’s Joint List, Gideon Saar’s New Hope Party and Nitzan Horowitz’s Meretz Party each has 6 seats and Mansour Abbas’s Islamic Movement has 4 seats," Michaeli explained.

And she can't count either.
Ever mind that Liberman & Sa'ar's parties will explode if they go with Arabs parties that deny the right of Israel to exists.

#2  I guess 'Labor party' spells the same nonsense everywhere. Also, how can an Arab lover have any zionist leanings? Do they mean an WAKF administered Zion?

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Russia Mediates between Syrian Regime, Kurds, US offers to help
[ENGLISH.AAWSAT] Pro-regime National Defense Forces and the Kurdish internal security services, aka Asayish, have reached a ceasefire in northeastern Syria’s Qamishli city as part of a Russian-sponsored mediation.

Russian military police succeeded in mediating the ceasefire agreement between the National Defense Forces and members of Arab tribes and Asayish fighters in Qamishli, sources told Sputnik News Agency.

The agreement reached on Wednesday night stipulated a complete ceasefire and the withdrawal of fighters from the streets along with Russian patrols in the city’s streets, the sources said.

"Kurdish elements tried to advance with an armored vehicle towards a neighborhood in the city and put concrete barriers before the arrival of Russian forces," said Mohammed al-Taei, a National Defense Forces member.

"Their attempts were thwarted and they were forced to return to their bases," he added.

We are committed to the agreement and did not shoot at their checkpoints "as they claim," he told dpa.

Meanwhile,
...back at the wreckage, Captain Poindexter wished he had a cup of coffee. Even instant would do...
a source close to the Kurdish units said elements from the National Defense Forces violated the ceasefire and targeted Asayish forces, adding that they fired mortar shells on a neighborhood mostly inhabited by Kurds.

Kurdish security forces said Wednesday that regime-allied fighters killed one of their personnel in an overnight attack on a checkpoint in Qamishli, of which both groups share control.

Qamishli clashes resume, US says ready to help de-escalate

[Rudaw] Clashes resumed between regime fighters and Asayish security forces of the Kurdish administration in Qamishli, northeast Syria on Friday morning, following the killing of a tribal leader the night before. A United States general said the US is ready to help de-escalate after a Russian attempt failed.

Sheikh Hayyes al-Jaryyan, a leader from the Bani Saba’a tribe, was killed late Thursday night. He was shot by a sniper after leaving a meeting seeking to find a solution to end days of festivities in Qamishli, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights. Jaryyan was reportedly close to the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and his death is being blamed on the pro-regime National Defence Forces (NDF).

Clashes broke out between the NDF and the Asayish on Tuesday night in Qamishli, which lies within areas administered by Kurdish forces, known as Rojava, but the regime maintains pockets of control in the city. Two children and a member of the Asayish have been killed.

Russia mediated a ceasefire on Wednesday that would see Russian troops deployed to areas where fighting took place, but it is not a permanent agreement. "This is merely a truce, not a lasting solution," said Basman al-Assaf, head of the United Syria Association, a political organization in Rojava.

Early Friday morning, NDF snipers began firing on civilian houses in central al-Tai neighbourhood, the North Press Agency reported. Clashes have also broken out on the western side of the same neighbourhood, according to ANHA news.

The Asayish had taken control of parts of al-Tai earlier this week, the Observatory reported, noting "the failure of the Russian-sponsored negotiations to reach a solution."

General Kenneth McKenzie, commander of US CENTCOM, said the US is ready to help. "We’ll do anything we can to help in de-escalating these festivities," he said in presser on Thursday, in answer to a question from Rudaw’s Roj Eli Zalla.

He added that he expects such festivities to continue. "I’m not sure that they’re going to go away, particularly as pro-regime forces continue to push to the east. I think they may even rise over the coming weeks and months. We’ll be prepared to deal with that at every level. You prefer to deal with it at the diplomatic level, if you can, or through talking. But we’ll be prepared to assist our SDF partners."

Kurdish and regime forces have largely avoided major confrontations during Syria’s decade of conflict. Syrian forces were deployed to areas along the border with The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire...
as part of a ceasefire to end a Ottoman Turkish military incursion in 2019. The Kurdish administration has tried to negotiate with Damascus to ensure the future of the autonomous region they carved out during the conflict, but talks have failed.
