What they expected before the election — article from Monday night.
[JustTheNews] According to the release, the soldiers will be based out of Carson City, the state capital, and Las Vegas, the state's largest city in the politically competitive Clark County.
Although they are presumably not going to be needed, Nevada is asking a 60 National Guard troops to be at the ready for Election Day.
“After consulting with stakeholders across the state, I have decided that a precautionary activation of the National Guard makes sense at this time. We do not expect that these personnel will need to be deployed,” Gov. Joe Lombardo said in a statement last week.
“As a first responder, I know first-hand the importance of being prepared, and this decision reflects my commitment to safety and preparedness on Election Day. As always, I am deeply grateful to the men and women of our National Guard, and I appreciate their service to our state and country," he added.
The decision is meant to supplement typical election security measures conducted by local and state authorities. Specifically, the news release from the governor's office cites any potential weather risks in the state could allow the guard to step in in order to help local law enforcement. In addition, they could help with other more immediate security concerns.
According to the release, the soldiers will be based out of Carson City, the state capital, and Las Vegas, the state's largest city in the politically competitive Clark County.
“I share Governor Lombardo’s commitment to safety, preparedness, and transparency,” Secretary of State Francisco Aguilar said in a statement. “This proactive decision helps ensure that we’ve made the most of our available resources across Nevada. Our election officials and law enforcement leaders have been preparing for the November 5 election for years. This frees up their resources on Election Day so they can focus on delivering a safe and secure election.”

[THEPOSTMILLENNIAL] Around 30,000 ballots are reportedly going to need to be recounted, city officials announced in Milwaukee, Wisconsin because of a tabulator issue.
According to Fox 6, city official Jeff Fleming said that the tabulators have been sealed, however, the doors on the machines did not close the right way. The problems impacted votes that were turned in early as well as absentee ballots. 106,750 absentee ballots from the 113,311 that were issued to voters had been sent to the polling locations by Tuesday morning.
City officials said that the recount will take hours and that 13 machines were impacted. Paulina Gutierrez, executive director of the Milwaukee Election Commission, instructed poll workers that each ballot will need to run through the systems again.
"We're seeing a lot of voter registration. Voter registrations are long. It's great to see that. I just want to remind voters that when you go to register to vote, you have to bring a valid photo ID and a proof of residence," Guti rrez said while speaking to reporters.
The polls are open from 7am to 8pm in the swing state of Wisconsin. The Badger State and six others, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Michigan, Nevada, Arizona, and Georgia are likely to be the states that decide the election results.

So far the worst thing about Election 2024 is the large percentage of the electorate who voted for Harris/Walz. Biden AFAICT never polled less than a 30% approval rate, very high considering his lousy performance. The results are a squeaker, not a landslide.

It's not over till the Donks are held to their own actions - National Popular Vote Interstate Compact (NPVIC). By their own creation, all those blue states said they're committed to give the electors of their states to the winner of the popular vote. It's put up or shut up time. If they 'put up' trying to legitimize the compact, then the EC vote is going to be a landslide.
may not be constitutional, doesn't seem to take effect until some threshold reached
I don't think this round of the electoral college vote will be affected

Assuming Trump actually gets inaugurated, are you all prepared for 4 years of incessant lawfare on every action he takes as well as totally unrelated nuisance suits?

Went to bed early last night and just woke up to the Trump victory. I turned on MSNBC and it was amazing. I thought I was watching FOX. No Nazi talk, no losing our Democracy talk. On the contrary, bad mouthing how the Dems failed America on the border, crime and economy. WTF!

their own actions - National Popular Vote Interstate Compact (NPVIC).
I was thinking about that in the middle of the night, Jains Elmusoth2776, but couldn’t remember what it was called. Thank you for asking for both of us.
We did warn them that it was a bad idea, back in the day.

"Not a Landslide.."
Or was it that the LSD's couldn't cast enough Fake ballots this time, to keep up with the REAL VOTER numbers?
Good question.
If Republicans control the White House and both houses of Congress the very first item on their agenda should be federal legislation to ban computerized voting machines and cheat-by-mail ballots throughout the United States.
Then get to the deportations.

I had to check myself in because I watched the PBS coverage.
Dollar Rapinoe, Skeleher, the three dudes for Kamala, 8 stone creepoes, by the time I had to go to the doctor they couldn't even form coherent sentences.

I'm tempted to tune in The View to see how Whoopi and them are doing. It'd only be the second time that I actually enjoyed watching that show. The first was in 2016.

I wanna know what the ratings were for the network election watch shows last night. I couldn't watch. I'm hoping the ratings were low enough to convince some of those media people that the jig is up.

The NPVIC probably wouldn't be unconstitutional unless invoked by the Republicans, Garth.

Anybody else hearing that Donald Trump is the new Hugo Chavez? And not for the police round-ups or the stolen elections, which were completely ignored, but for the financial ruination of a formerly prosperous nation. Tariffs instead of taxes turns out to be a trigger point — who knew?

#39 I was the local Atlanta affiliate for NBC last night for gnashing of teeth and enjoyment, about 9:45 the local came on live with press briefing by the infamous SoS Raffensberger and he said Trump’s lead was to big too overcome.
When I went to bed at 11, NBC still hadn’t called GA. I knew it was over and it was gonna be bad for Donks
Kamala Harris called President-elect Donald Trump on Wednesday to concede the election and congratulate him on his victory, according to a senior adviser to the vice president.
The aide, who declines to be identified discussing a private conversation, says Harris talked about the need for a peaceful transfer of power.
Harris, once viewed as a potential savior for the Democratic Party after Joe Biden’s reelection campaign stalled, is reckoning with a profound rejection by American voters in this year’s presidential election.
She trailed in every battleground state to Donald Trump, a man she described as an existential danger to the country’s foundational institutions. And Trump appeared on track to win the popular vote for the first time in his three campaigns for the White House — even after two impeachments, felony convictions and his attempt to overturn his previous election loss.
Harris planns to deliver a concession speech Wednesday at 4 p.m., her office announces. She’ll speak at Howard University, her alma mater in Washington, where her supporters watched returns Tuesday night before being sent home after midnight as Trump pulled ahead in battleground states.
In a bitter footnote for Harris, as the sitting vice president she is expected to oversee Congress’ ceremonial certification of the election.

Think about how hard it is for Biden and Harris to call and congratulate Hitler.
