In Ohio the campaigns are permitted to put lawn signs X’ from the polling place, with nothing allowed beyond that. At my polling place, the trailing daughters’ elementary school, we usually have a few people from each party standing on the sidewalk just beyond that limit, handing out sample ballots and answering any last questions voters might have about their candidates and ballot issues — very quiet and dignified. But given how fraught this election is, I can see more excitable voters getting together to chant at the opposition… or idiotic high school kids who can’t yet vote acting out. Machete Boy should be slapped down so he learns to think before acting.
