From Multiple terrorists disguised as army personnel cross into Israel from Jordan:
Hen Ginat, head of the Hevel Eilot Regional Council, said: "We are increasing the alert. We hope that this incident will encourage the IDF and the Defense Minsitry to complete the border fence.”
As soon as the war is over Israel needs to continue building the wall. A few strand fence to show where the border is drawn is simply not enough.
"A 2007 Reuters report revealed that there is no coast to coast wall located across the DMZ and that the pictures of a "wall" which have been used in North Korean propaganda have merely been pictures of concrete anti-tank barriers.[34] While 800,000 landmines were being removed in 2018, it was shown that the Joint Security Area along the Korean border was guarded by standard barbed wire."

oh Skidmark i went to korea, to the edge of the DMZ.... you can look through binoculars to where the Nork side is bare because they burnt all the trees for firewood... there are rare deer in between but sometimes they step on landmines and blow up.
It's the land mines.... and they try to tunnel underneath all the time also.
it's intense. The military there is intense.
yes it's barbed wire but not like a farm....
North Korea - South Korea fence, nothing gets through there

of Afghan citizens have been killed in a shooting at Kalagan, the center of Saravan in Sistan and Baluchestan.
Some eyewitnesses of the incident and an Iranian human rights ...which often include carefully measured allowances of freedom at the convenience of the state... organization have said that from a group of 300 Afghan migrants colonists, around 50 people have survived.
These migrants colonists, who were attempting to enter Iran ...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. In videos released from this event, it can be seen that the bodies of victims and the maimed lie on the ground in mountainous areas without any medical facilities.
"We were ambushed at the Kalagan border. There were 300 of us, and about 270 to 280 were killed. Maybe 50 to 60 people survived, and the rest were all martyred. Ten to twelve of my friends were also martyred," said an eyewitness of the incident.
The Iranian Human Rights Organization said that from the group of 300 Afghan migrants colonists, only 50 have survived. According to this organization, Iranian border guards had set up an ambush against the Afghan migrants colonists during the night and attacked them with light and heavy weapons, including RPG rockets.
"Iran, as a neighboring and fellow-language country, kills Afghans in this way, and it is truly unethical. All Moslems and the people of Herat ...a venerable old Persian-speaking city in western Afghanistan, populated mostly by Tadjiks, which is why it's not as blood-soaked as areas controlled by Pashtuns... condemn this incident," Jaber, a resident of Herat, told TOLOnews.
"This is a very cruel and wrongful act against Afghans. Afghans go to Iran as laborers," said Ramin, another resident of Herat.
According to some civil society activists, the attack on Afghan migrants colonists is a crime against humanity, and the perpetrators must be brought to justice.
"Shedding the blood of Afghan citizens, whose aim in migrating is to escape poverty and earn a piece of bread, is considered a crime against humanity and requires prosecution in international courts. A country does not have the right to treat migrants colonists as if they are invaders and to gun them down. Certainly, this action by Iranian border guards counts as a crime against humanity," Seyed Ashraf Sadat, a civil society activist, told TOLOnews.
This comes at a time when, in recent months, the expulsion of Afghan migrants colonists from Iran has intensified, and there have been frequent reports of police mistreatment of migrants colonists in that country.
The Iran Human Rights Organization (Halvash) reported that Iranian border guards shot at Afghan refugees attempting to enter the country, resulting in the deaths of 260 individuals.
According to Halvash, the report is based on accounts from two Afghan witnesses who saw their compatriots being killed.
The organization shared a video showing the bodies of the victims, stating that these individuals were killed last Sunday night in the border region of Kalgan Saravan.
Halvash cited sources who survived the incident, revealing that the group of migrants consisted of approximately 300 people. Out of this group, only 60 survived, while the rest were either killed or severely injured.
This report comes amid a growing number of news stories about the harassment, torture, and mistreatment of Afghan refugees by Iranian forces, which continue to surface in the media.
The plight of Afghan refugees in Iran is dire, as they face not only physical violence but also systemic violations of their human and basic rights. The Iranian government’s actions, including forced deportation and brutal treatment, have raised serious concerns from international human rights organizations.
The situation for these refugees is exacerbated by the lack of legal protection and the constant threat of abuse, leaving many vulnerable to torture, harassment, and even death. This ongoing crisis highlights the urgent need for global attention and intervention to safeguard the rights of Afghan refugees.
Mujahid said on X that after the matter is clarified, the necessary decision will be made regarding it.
The spokesperson for the Islamic Emirate wrote about this: "Today, rumors were spread in the media about the martyrdom and injury of several Afghan nationals at the Iran-Pakistan border. Various institutions of the Islamic Emirate are investigating and examining this incident. So far, no accurate information is available. Once the issue is clarified, the necessary decision will be made in this regard."
Meanwhile, Iran's ambassador and special representative to Afghanistan stated that, based on their assessments, the news of the shooting at migrants on the Iranian border is not true.
Hassan Kazemi Qomi, Iran's ambassador and special representative to Afghanistan, wrote on X: "As a result of direct follow-ups through reliable sources up to this moment, it has been confirmed that the news about the death of dozens of illegal immigrants at the Saravan border is not accurate."
According to an insider, Iranian officials not only fired upon the migrants with extreme brutality but also caused fatalities as landmine explosions killed several during their attempt to cross the border.
The source described the intensity of the shooting, comparing it to “a war between Iran and Israel.”
According to the information received, most of the migrants were from the provinces of Badghis and Ghor. They were attempting to travel from Nimroz to Pakistan and then to Iran.
The website “Hal Vash,” which covers news in Sistan and Baluchestan, was the first to break the story. Hal Vash reported that Iranian border forces opened fire on Afghan migrants on the evening of Sunday, October 13.
On Tuesday, Hal Vash, citing videos, images, and witness claims, reported that out of 300 Afghan migrants, about 60 to 70 survived, while the rest were either killed or injured.
Reports indicate that a group of over 300 migrants, guided by smugglers, was travelling from Kulgon to Saravan in Iran’s Sistan and Baluchestan provinces.
“The government has mined this route. It wasn’t mined before. Some were killed in the explosions, and Iranian officials shot those who survived,” according to the report.
The source added that when the border officials realized they had attacked civilians, they left the area. Many of the injured and survivors fled to the Mashkel area in Pakistan. Several bodies were left in Iranian territory.
[Garowe] The Somalia Civil Aviation Authority (SCAA) has banned drone flights within 9 kilometers of the Aden Adde International Airport (Mogadishu Airport) over safety concerns in the middle of frequent sporadic attacks by the al-Shabaab ... Somalia's version of the Taliban, functioning as an arm of al-Qaeda... The move is geared towards protecting the busy airport from possible al-Shabaab attacks which could target flights in the highly fortified facility within the country. Mogadishu Airport is the biggest in the Horn of Africa nation.
Some of the areas affected by this ban include Hodan, Hamar Weyne, Waberi, and parts of Madina and Boondheere which fall within this restricted zone, affecting densely populated districts and critical infrastructure like Mogadishu University and Banadir Hospital.
The directive has already been implemented and will remain in force until December when the aviation team will make assessments for further advice, an official notice to airmen read (NOTAM).
"UAS operations are prohibited within a 5 NM radius of HCMM ARP unless authorized by the Somali Civil Aviation Authority," the notice stated.
The aviation team emphasized the need to adhere to the directive, noting that those flaunting regulations would result in legal consequences. The ban aims to prevent potential threats posed by unmanned aerial systems (UAS), which could disrupt air traffic or be exploited for malicious activities, the team said.
"Compliance with these regulations is mandatory, and any violations will be met with legal action," said an SCAA spokesperson.
Besides the commercial planes, Aden Adde International Airport is frequently used by humanitarian teams and at times, the military. al-Shabaab has repeatedly tried to wage attacks on the critical government facility over the last decade.

The operation, which signifies ongoing efforts to dismantle al-Shabaab’s infrastructure, involved both ground troops and intelligence efforts to locate and strike at the heart of the terrorist group’s activities in the area. Following the initial engagement, SNA forces are now actively pursuing remaining hard boyz to prevent their regrouping or retreat to other safe havens.
[ShabelleMedia] In a pre-dawn assault, al-Shabaab ... the Islamic version of the old Somali warlord... gunnies targeted a military base located approximately 17 kilometers from Hudur, the capital of Somalia’s Bakol region, in the SouthWest state.
The attack, which occurred overnight, resulted in at least one soldier confirmed dead and several others maimed, according to local sources.
Army commanders in the region claim they successfully repelled the attackers, stating that they "neutralized several terrorists" and seized several two-wheeler cycle of violences utilized by the gunnies during the assault. The military’s prompt response and the recovery of equipment suggest an attempt to disrupt al-Shabaab’s operations in the area.
Security forces in the Hudur district in the Bakool region in southwestern Somalia foiled a massive terrorist attack Thursday morning. The Somali National Army (SNA) acting on intelligence, blocked a vehicle loaded with explosives while heading to Hudur town.
“The army received the information of the terrorist enemy in Lukugooraw area, which is about 20 km from the Hudur district, and destroyed the militia who intended to attack the people of the city with an explosive vehicle they were driving,” a statement from SNA read in part.
The military said the vehicle was set to blow up in the centre of town causing huge loss of lives.

Targetting is easy.
Targeting is easy and cheap and inflicts great monetary damage on the World economy, because these activities deter free commercial navigation.
Granted, the West has the capabilities to easily neutralize the Houthi piracy threat, but there's no political will.

That includes Iran, a U.S. State Department designated State Sponsor of Terrorism.
Texas DPS first sounded the alarm about increasing arrests of SIAs last month, The Center Square first reported.
In the past week, DPS troopers have arrested dozens of SIAs, Texas DPS Lt. Chris Olivarez said in a series of social media posts.
SIAs are noncitizens who, based "on an analysis of travel patterns," are "known or evaluated to possibly have a nexus to terrorism" who "potentially poses a national security risk to the United States," the U.S. Department of Homeland Security explains. Having an SIA designation does not necessarily mean the individual is a terrorist, but their travel pattern "indicates a possible nexus to nefarious activity (including terrorism) and, at a minimum, provides indicators that necessitate heightened screening and further investigation," DHS says.
On Oct. 11, DPS troopers apprehended 165 foreign nationals in Quemado, outside of Eagle Pass, after they illegally entered Texas from Mexico. Among them were 14 identified as SIAs — citizens of Iran, Egypt, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo ...formerly the Congo Free State, Belgian Congo, Zaire, and who knows what else, not to be confused with the Brazzaville Congo aka Republic of Congo, which is much smaller and much more (for Africa) stable. A significant proportion of the populace refugeed to Colombia and points south... , Brazil, the Dominican Republic, Honduras, Guatemala, and Ecuador, Olivarez said.
On Oct. 13, Texas DPS troopers recovered 29 "unaccompanied alien children" (UACs) between the ages of 10 and 17. They all claimed to already have sponsors in New York, Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party,, Colorado, Florida, Maine, and other states, he said.
On Oct. 14, Texas DPS troopers also recovered 23 UACs including 16 boys and seven girls, he said. Olivarez published a video of the UACs who stated their ages in Spanish.
All UACs are handed over to Border Patrol, which processes them and turns them over to the supervision of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Office of Refugee Resettlement. HHS ORR is rife with allegations of abuse, the non-vetting of sponsors, losing track of more than 100,000 UACs after they are released into the US, among other allegations prompting multiple congressional investigations. A House Committee also recently subpoenaed the head of HHS to provide information about UACs.

One Texas group, Alliance for a Safe Texas, has called for action in Texas since the majority of UACs are housed in HHS-contracted facilities in the state, The Center Square first reported.
So far, through OLS, Texas DPS troopers have rescued over 900 UACs, The Center Square reported. Border Patrol agents are also continuing to rescue drugged UACs believed to have been abused and smuggled into the country.
On Oct. 14, Texas DPS troopers also apprehended a large group of illegal border crossers on private property in Maverick County. They included family groups, the 23 UACs and 22 SIAs — citizens of Egypt and The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire... , Olivarez said.
Last month, troopers apprehended SIAs from Turkey, all single military age men, The Center Square reported.
Last month, U.S. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Georgia, filed a bill to require the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to publish data on SIAs who are apprehended illegally entering the U.S., The Center Square first reported.
SIA data collected by DHS has never been made public under any administration.
There have been at least 73,000 SIAs arrested under the Biden-Harris administration, Greene said at a congressional hearing. The number "does not include the potential special interest aliens among the 2 million known gotaways," she said.
She’s referring to illegal border crossers who intentionally evade capture, don’t return to Mexico or Canada, run when pursued by law enforcement and aren’t apprehended, or their tracks are found by law enforcement and reported, officials have explained to The Center Square. They now total over 2 million since fiscal 2021, the greatest number reported under any presidential administration, The Center Square first reported.
[KhaamaPress] Two U.S. officials told NBC News that an Afghan man accused of plotting a terrorist attack on U.S. election day has ties to ISIS-Khorasan.
Nasir Ahmad Tohidi
…previously encountered under the name Nasir Ahmad Tawhedi, age 27, resident with his wife and infant daughter in Oklahoma City in a house his father-in-law had bought them, had been a guard for the CIA in Afghanistan when we pulled out. He was admitted to America in September, 2021 on humanitarian parole, subsequently marrying into an Afghan family who’d arrived here in 2018. He and his underage brother-in-law planned on becoming martyrs for ISIS in an Election Day massacre of the Unbelievers, in aid of which Mr. Tawhedi sold the house and their possessions in order to buy some guns from their bestest friend, the FBI informant. He also got one-way airplane tickets back to Afghanistan for the wife and kidlet as well as the mother-in-law and siblings. They were so surprised when they were arrested after handing over the money for the guns and 500 rounds of ammunition, and were arrested instead…
admitted to the FBI that he was in contact with a member of the group named Malik.
He was previously named Abdul Malik in our archives.
Tohidi was arrested last week in Oklahoma. He had previously worked as a guard for the CIA in Afghanistan.
Court documents show that he entered the United States on a humanitarian visa in September 2021, a month after the fall of Afghanistan’s government.
A senior U.S. government official told NBC News that Tohidi had undergone two security checks before entering the country, and no suspicious information was found.
It appears that after arriving in the U.S., he became involved with ISIS supporters online and gradually aligned with the terrorist group.
Two U.S. officials also said that Tohidi’s mother, who resides in Afghanistan, is suspected of being an ISIS supporter.
Ah hah!
Last week, French counter-terrorism prosecutors announced the arrest of a member of Tohidi’s family on charges of plotting a terrorist attack at a football stadium or shopping center in La Belle France.
The only thing we know about him is that he’s 22.

(ISIS) suspects arrested in Nineveh province, the interior ministry said, the latest in a spate of executions by Baghdad against the jihadists.
"The judicial authorities issued severe sentences (execution and life imprisonment) against ten gunnies arrested by our agency in Nineveh province. This came after investigations and confronting them with solid evidence, which they confessed to their affiliation with terrorist ISIS gangs," said a statement by the interior ministry’s Federal Intelligence and Investigations Agency.
The agency said that the suspects were involved in "many terrorist attacks" during the rise of ISIS in 2014, "including carrying out killings of security forces members and innocent civilians."
Thousands of people have been detained across Iraq since 2014 for suspected links to terrorist groups, including ISIS, and hundreds have been executed. Human rights monitors have criticized the trials, saying they depend on confessions obtained through torture, they do not investigate specific charges such as genocide, and they exclude the victims, thereby denying them justice.
Iraq has also routinely been criticized for poor prison conditions and harsh treatment of detainees and suspects.
More than 8,000 are purportedly on death row in Iraq, and authorities have been repeatedly condemned for carrying out hasty trials.

Iraqi and Kurdish security forces have carried out numerous joint raids against ISIS in recent years, primarily in Sulaimani.
In a separate sting, the CTS apprehended another ISIS holy warrior in Iraq’s western Anbar province.

[Rudaw] At least 20 unidentified button men stormed a village in the disputed province of Kirkuk early Thursday, local sources said, suspecting the button men to be Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. "Around 20 unidentified button men, suspected by security forces to be ISIS members, stormed a house in the village, and there was gunfire that resulted in one person being injured," Hajar Tapakurayi, chieftain of the Tapa Kura village in Kirkuk’s Shwan district, told Rudaw.
The chieftain explained that the button men arrived at a villager’s house and demanded he open the door, but he escaped through the rear window alongside his wife and "fired at the button men" while fleeing.
"After the shooting, the villagers gathered at the house, and the button men fled," Tapakurayi said. "The homeowner was maimed in the arm while escaping."
Security forces arrived shortly afterward and launched a combing operation in the area in pursuit of the button men.
A high-ranking security official in Kirkuk provided a different account, saying that a person was injured after being shot in the arm by the assailants.
"Around 20 button men demanded food from the villagers, but when they were denied, they opened fire," the official said, speaking on the condition of anonymity.
While the button men were not readily identified, ISIS forces of Evil frequently roam the outskirts of disputed Kirkuk and launch attacks from rural areas.
ISIS seized control of large swathes of Iraqi territory in 2014. The group was declared territorially defeated in 2017 but continues to carry out bombings, hit-and-run attacks, and abductions.
The forces of Evil have taken shelter in a security vacuum in areas disputed between Erbil and Baghdad, stretching across the provinces of Salahaddin, Kirkuk, ... a thick stew of Arabs, Turkmen, Kurds, and probably Antarcticans, all of them mutually hostile most of the time... Nineveh, and Diyala.
Earlier this month, four Iraqi army soldiers were killed in an ISIS ambush in Kirkuk - an area infamous for being used as a hideout for ISIS fighters.

[GEO.TV] The Civil Defense says at least 10 Palestinians have been killed in the Israeli air raids on a house belonging to the Talibani family in the Maghazi camp in central Gaza, as per Al Jazeera.

The IDF named 12 snuffies who were present at the Abu Hassan School, adding that they were involved in launching rockets at Israel and attacks on troops.
The military said it took steps to limit harm to uninvolved citizens in the strike.
At least 19 Paleostinians including children were killed in the strike, an official from the Hamas-run Gaza health ministry told Rooters. The terror group’s figures could not be verified and do not differentiate between civilians and combatants.
Dozens were also injured in the strike, said the official, Medhat Abbas, adding: "There is no water to extinguish the fire. There is nothing."
Separately, the IDF said troops found a chalkboard with statements written by snuffies praising the October 7 massacre in a classroom during its ground incursion in northern Gaza’s Jabaliya.
Troops in the 401st Brigade have eliminated dozens of snuffies through airstrikes and close-quarters urban combat since the incursion began earlier this month, the military said, releasing footage of the strikes.
In the raid of the school, troops found dozens of weapons, explosives, mortars, and ammunition.

"At least 19 Paleostinians including children were killed in the strike..." A reward should go to the first person who finds a Palestinian action report that does not mention the death of children.
Israeli forces in Gaza killed Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar, the architect of the Oct. 7, 2023, terrorist attacks, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced.
In an address today, Vice President Kamala Harris said Sinwar's death "gives us an opportunity to finally end the war in Gaza."
Sinwar, who was born in a refugee camp and spent years in an Israeli prison before he rose to the top of the Iran-backed militant group, was described as a ''dead man walking'' by the Israeli military in the days after the Oct. 7 attacks.
After Sinwar's body was found and before he was definitively identified, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant wrote on X: "'You will pursue your enemies and they will fall before you by the sword.' — Leviticus 26. Our enemies cannot hide. We will pursue and eliminate them.''
Hostages' families have called on the Israeli government to use Sinwar's death to negotiate for their relatives' release, while Palestinians are voicing hope that it may bring an end to the war.
8:24 PM EDT A drone identified Sinwar, IDF says
Israeli forces identified three Hamas militants moving from house to house yesterday when Sinwar fled into a building on his own, IDF spokesperson Daniel Hagari said in a briefing today.
The military sent in a drone that identified a masked man with a wounded hand, who has since been identified as Sinwar, before he threw a wooden plank at the drone, Hagari said. A video from the drone released by the IDF shows a man sitting down in a destroyed building, but his face is entirely covered, and he does not turn his face to the camera.
“We found him wearing a vest, carrying a gun, and with 40,000 shekels,” Hagari said. “He was on the run, fleeing, and our forces eliminated him.”
7:43 PM EDT Death of Sinwar won't affect the conditions of Hamas' demands, Gazan says
While Sinwar's death may give Netanyahu a "bonus" in his political standing, Thabaat El-Moaar is unconvinced it will change Hamas' demands.
El-Mooar, a writer and political analyst who spoke to NBC News in Khan Younis, said Sinwar's is just one of a long list of assassinations that have not stopped the "resistance." El-Moaar does not believe that changes Hamas' standing or forces a surrender.
"According to Netanyahu, he has accomplished achievements on the ground," he said. "These achievements indeed satisfied Netanyahu, but it won’t stop the resistance."
With Sinwar dead, there is no more justification for the war, said El-Moaar, who called for a deal to end the war and release the hostages.
5:40 PM EDT Sinwar's killing could mark 'new phase' for Hamas, expert says
Sinwar's death is "significant for Israel's government ... at the very least in terms of it being a political win, with the commemoration of the Oct. 7 attack only having just passed," Mahdi Ghuloom, a regional security analyst at Le Beck International, told NBC News.
In an email before Israel confirmed it had killed Sinwar, Ghuloom said the development could "present a window of opportunity for cease-fire talks to resume," adding: "Sinwar was reportedly a big barrier to such talks from succeeding."
"We are already seeing statements by Israeli hostage families calling on PM Netanyahu to grasp such an opportunity and secure a hostage release deal. Whether the Israeli government does seize this opportunity remains to be seen, as well as who may replace Sinwar," he said.
He said Sinwar's death could also "mark a new phase for Hamas" in its approach to the fight against Israeli forces.
5:17 PM EDT Sinwar and two others opened fire on Israeli troops, IDF says
Intelligence tipped off the IDF that Hamas leadership was near the Rafah area, which led to weeks of operations in southern Gaza, IDF spokesperson Doron Spielman told MSNBC.
The area the leaders could move in was restricted, which Spielman said troops hoped would force them to make a mistake. Sinwar eventually fell into the trap when he and two others started firing on IDF soldiers, he said.
"The Israeli troops returned fire — also with a tank mortar shell — the mortar shell hit the building, killing Sinwar and the other terrorists," Spielman said.
4:09 PM EDT Israel dealt a 'lethal blow' to Hamas by killing Sinwar, researcher says
Hamas may be forced to accept defeat now that Israel has dealt it a "lethal blow" in killing Sinwar, researcher Burcu Ozcelik told NBC News.
Ozcelik, who worked at the Royal United Services Institute think tank in London, described Sinwar as a "cult of personality" leader whom his followers regarded as “near invincible.”
"With Sinwar, an intractable and non-compromising Hamas leader, now gone, it may be possible for Israel and the Palestinian National Authority, alongside regional states, to begin planning for the ‘day after’ scenario in Gaza," Ozcelik said.
The remaining question is whether that will mean an end to the military campaign in Gaza, which will have to consider Hamas' remaining power and the status of the remaining hostages.
"If the hostages can be returned safely, this will undoubtedly be a major victory for the IDF and Netanyahu, whose legacy will now include the killing of the architect of the October 7th attack," Ozcelik said.
1:20 PM EDT Sinwar's death a message to others to 'surrender,' defense minister says
Israel has brought justice to its citizens by killing Sinwar, the man who orchestrated the Oct. 7 terror attack that killed 1,200 people last year, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant said in an address today.
“Sinwar died while beaten, persecuted and on the run — he didn’t die as a commander, but as someone who only cared for himself," Gallant said.
The defense minister noted that Sinwar is the latest in a string of assassinations of both Hamas and Hezbollah leadership in recent months. He called it a "clear message" to the residents of Gaza and the rest of Hamas' militants.
"Go out with the hostages, free them, and surrender," Gallant said.
Shocking footage shows the moment a drone is deployed to check a building in Rafah that a group of IDF soldiers hit on Thursday.
An injured Sinwar, who had his face covered, could be seen sitting alone on a couch in the destroyed building, with the IDF soldiers unaware that they were seeing the very man they had been hunting for since he ordered the Oct. 7, 2023 terrorist attack on the Jewish state.
When Sinwar finally notices the drone hovering just a few feet from him, he struggles to fling an object at the UAV in a last ditch effort to keep his whereabouts hidden.
The soldiers then ordered a second strike on the building, killing Sinwar and two other Hamas terrorists who were traveling with him.

Was he really the bodyguard, or was Mr. Yahya just carrying the ID card in a clever but vain attempt to fool the IDF hunters? More from the Times of Israel:
On Thursday morning, troops searching the building looked at the face of the slain terrorist whom the drone had spotted, and noticed that he resembled Sinwar. The Shin Bet took DNA and part of his finger to verify his identity. No hostages were with Sinwar at the time.
The IDF said the firefight on Wednesday took place in the same area as the six hostages were held and killed.
It also said that the IDF had checked when the six hostages’ bodies were recovered whether terrorists killed in the area had included Sinwar. This was found not to be the case, but indications, including DNA evidence, were found at the time that Sinwar had been in the area.
Channel 12 said the body suspected to be that of Sinwar was not immediately brought back to Israel because the area where it was found was heavily booby-trapped. The body also had a military vest carrying grenades.
I had no idea UNIFIL allowed itself to actually act.

A German warship operating as part of the United Nations ...a formerly good idea gone bad... ’ UNIFIL mission brought down an unmanned flying object off the coast of Lebanon on Thursday, a spokesperson for the German defense ministry said.
“The corvette brought an unidentified unmanned aerial vehicle into the water in a controlled crash,” the spokesperson told Reuters, adding that there was no damage or injuries to the German vessel or its crew.
The corvette Ludwigshafen am Rhein is continuing its duties, the spokesperson added. There were no further details given.
The drone interception comes amid tensions between Israel and UNIFIL, with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu angering European allies in recent days by insisting that the international peacekeeping force leave its posts in southern Lebanon to avoid getting caught in the crossfire between Israel and Hezbollah. The Lebs have the curious habit of periodically murdering their heads of state or prime ministers... have targeted Hezbollah posts, but their proximity to UN peacekeepers and members of the Lebanese army has led to several accidental strikes on the latter two groups. Netanyahu has accused Hezbollah of using UNIFIL positions as cover while it attacks Israel.
Meanwhile,
...back at the wine tasting, Vince was about to start on his third quart... Netanyahu told a French newspaper in an interview published Thursday that Israeli forces had found "state-of-the-art" Russian weapons in searches of Hezbollah bases in south Lebanon. Netanyahu highlighted to Le Figaro newspaper that under a 2006 UN Security Council resolution only the Lebanesearmy was allowed to have weapons south of the country’s key Litani River. That resolution tasked UNIFIL with helping ensure Israel was not threatened by Hezbollah from south Lebanon.
“However, in this area, Hezbollah has dug hundreds of tunnels and caches, where we have just found a quantity of state-of-the-art Russian weapons," the French article quoted Netanyahu as saying.
"A new civil war in Lebanon would be a tragedy. It is certainly not our aim to provoke one. Israel does not intend to interfere in Lebanon’s internal affairs,” Netanyahu told Le Figaro. “Our only aim is to allow our citizens living along the Lebanon frontier to go home and feel safe.”
As the IDF’s ground operation widens, the military said Thursday that it killed a Hezbollah battalion commander in the southern Lebanese Bint Jbeil district. The military said Hussein Muhammed Auda was responsible for rocket fire on Israel originating from several towns in the district, a Hezbollah stronghold.
Additionally, airstrikes killed 45 terrorists and destroyed 150 Hezbollah sites over the past day, including weapons stores, rocket launchers and buildings used for military purposes, according to the army.
Explosions were heard in east Lebanon’s Beqaa Valley on Thursday shortly after the military’s Arabic spokesperson Avichay Adraee called on residents of the village of Tamnine El Tahta to evacuate. Adraee said the military would strike strategic facilities and interests belonging to Hezbollah located in the area, and that residents nearby should evacuate for their own safety. A map of the area to be targeted was posted on X and a short time later, explosions were heard in the area.
Meanwhile terrorists in Lebanon continued to fire rockets at northern Israel overnight and into Thursday morning, with multiple projectiles intercepted.
A barrage of some 30 rockets was fired at the Upper Galilee. Some were intercepted, while others landed in open areas. A short time later, two more rockets were fired from Lebanon, triggering sirens across northern Israel, including towns in the Haifa area. Air defenses shot down one rocket while the other fell in an open area, the military said. No injuries were reported in the attack.
There was also rocket fire at multiple communities closer to the northern border. In the early hours of the morning, a rocket fired by Hezbollah struck a building in the northern city of Kiryat Shmona. There were no injuries.

[IsraelTimes] Slain troops were members of Golani Brigade’s reconnaissance unit; IDF spokesman says terror operatives captured during same battle; Hezbollah declares new ‘escalatory phase’
Five soldiers from the Golani Brigade’s reconnaissance unit were killed amid the ground offensive in southern Leb ...an Iranian satrapy until recently ruled by Hassan Nasrallah situated on the eastern Mediterranean, conveniently adjacent to Israel. Formerly inhabited by hardy Phoenecian traders, its official language is now Arabic, with the usual unpleasant side effects. The Lebs have the curious habit of periodically murdering their heads of state or prime ministers... , the military announced Thursday, as Hezbollah threatened to escalate attacks against Israel.
The soldiers were named as company commander Maj. Ofek Bachar, 24, from Nes Ziona; team commander Capt. Elad Siman Tov, 23, from Tzofim; squad leader Staff Sgt. Elyashiv Eitan Wieder, 22, from Jerusalem; Staff Sgt. Yakov Hillel, 21, from Jerusalem; and Staff Sgt. Yehudah Dror Yahalom, 21, from Hebron.
Another officer and two soldiers were seriously injured in the incident. A number of other soldiers were seriously hurt during separate battles in southern Lebanon.
In one incident, an officer and two combat engineers from the Etzioni Brigade’s 8173rd Battalion were seriously injured, as was another soldier from the battalion’s logistical unit. The injuries came from an anti-tank missile attack.
A soldier from the 12th Battalion of the Golani Brigade was also seriously hurt in a firefight with Hezbollah fighters.

Strip, a soldier from the 450th Battalion of the Bislamach Brigade, the same battalion that killed Hamas ..the braying voice of Islamic Resistance®,... leader Yahya Sinwar on Wednesday, was also seriously injured in a battle with terrorists.
The injured were brought to hospitals, and the families of the killed and injured were all notified, said the IDF.
During a presser Thursday night, IDF Spokesman Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari said Golani soldiers captured Hezbollah operatives during the battle in which the five troops were killed.
Hezbollah meanwhile declared that it was launching a new phase in its war against Israel, saying it was using precision-guided missiles to target troops.
In a statement, the Iran-backed group "announces a transition to a new and escalatory phase in the confrontation with the Israeli enemy, which will be reflected in the developments and events of the coming days."
The statement was issued after Israel said troops killed Sinwar, but made no mention of the Hamas chief.
Hezbollah said "hundreds of fighters...are fully prepared to counter any Israeli ground incursion into southern Lebanese villages," noting that attacks against Israel have increased in recent days.
It also said its rocket strikes continue "to escalate day by day," with "precision-guided ones...being deployed for the first time."
Earlier, politician Hassan Fadlallah said the aim of the terror organization’s military command is to keep fighting "with all available means" to prevent Israel from achieving its goals and to eventually agree on a ceasefire.
"Our goal today is to end the aggression. We will not go into any detail related to the mechanism or solutions," he told news hounds, when asked whether Hezbollah still insists that it will only stop fighting once the Israel-Hamas war in Gaza stops.
Fadlallah also asserted Israel has not been able to push deeper into Lebanon, stop Hezbollah rocket fire or create the conditions for its citizens to return to communities in the north near the border, which Israel last month made an official war aim.
"Until now, the enemy has been unable to take full control of any village," Fadlallah told the presser at Lebanon’s parliament.
Israeli forces just "destroy, shoot and run," he went on, saying Hezbollah fighters are battling troops who have invaded Lebanese territory by only a few "meters."
Hezbollah had said it was engaged in close combat with Israeli forces near the border as videos circulating on social media purported to show Israeli flags raised in Lebanese frontier towns.
AFP could not independently verify the authenticity of the footage.
The Lebanese government has said that Israeli strikes have killed over 2,400 people in Lebanon over the last year, mainly in the last few weeks. According to the IDF, the toll includes at least 960 Hezbollah operatives.
