[IsraelTimes] Jerusalem reportedly tipped off Ottoman Turkish authorities, who foiled the attack at the last moment; officials reportedly weigh upgrading travel warning to The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...the decaying remnant of the Ottoman Empire...
Israeli and Ottoman Turkish security agencies last month uncovered an Iranian plot to kidnap Israeli tourists in Turkey and foiled it in the nick of time, according to Hebrew media reports Sunday.
Israeli security officials tipped off their Ottoman Turkish counterparts about the plan and asked that they take action to thwart the attack, according to the reports.
The reports, citing unnamed senior Israeli sources, did not specify what nationality the alleged Iranian agents were, how many were involved, or if any arrests were made.
After preventing the kidnapping, Israel asked Turkey to act against the Iranian network that planned it, the Kan public broadcaster reported.
Israeli diplomatic missions have been on alert, expecting Iran ...Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979... to seek Dire Revenge for the liquidation last month of a senior officer in the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. However, facts are stubborn; statistics are more pliable... Kan reported that the attempted kidnapping happened before the officer’s killing.
The National Security Council in recent days has considered issuing a top-level travel warning, explicitly telling Israelis not to travel to Turkey at all in the coming period. It has already advised against making non-essential trips to the country.
Israeli security officials believe there are still Iranian terror units operating in Turkey aiming to carry out kidnappings or shooting attacks, the Ynet news site reported, and intelligence services are working to counter those threats.
A source familiar with the developments told the outlet: "In light of the existing intelligence, it would be best for Israelis to not fly there during this period. It is worth considering canceling vacations in Turkey at this time."
A senior Israeli official was quoted by Ynet as saying there has been an uptick in Iranian attempts to carry out attacks.

[Rudaw] At least four Ottoman Turkish soldiers were killed during intense fighting in the mountains of Duhok province, the Ottoman Turkish Ministry of Defense announced early Sunday morning, raising the corpse count among Ottoman Turkish soldiers to over 26 since April 18 when Ankara launched its new offensive deep inside Iraqi territory.
The soldiers were killed in the Zap Mountain, east of Duhok city, where intense fighting has been ongoing between the guerrillas of the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) and Ottoman Turkish soldiers who have set up dozens of outposts inside Iraqi territory.
The Ottoman Turkish Defense Ministry did not provide any details of how the soldiers were killed except for stating that they were killed on June 11. They were identified as Fuat Ozer, Gokhan Demir, Omer Yildirim, and Mehmet Ali CAP.
Media outlets affiliated with the PKK said that the fighting took place on top of Black Mountain in Shif Valley, resulting in three Ottoman Turkish soldiers being killed and one maimed, adding that "intense fighting was ongoing."
The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...the decaying remnant of the Ottoman Empire... launched its latest operation dubbed Operation Claw-Clock on April 18 to eradicate the PKK threat, with President His Enormity, Sultan Recep Tayyip Erdogan the First ...Turkey's version of Mohammed Morsi but they voted him back in so they deserve him. It's a sin, a shame, and a felony to insult the president of Turkey. In Anatolia did Recep Bey a stately Presidential Palace decree, that has 1100 rooms. That's 968 more than there are in the White House, 400 more than in Versailles, and 325 more than Buckingham Palace, so you know who's really most important... warning "soon there will not be a place called Qandil."
The rugged mountain range which stretches across the Iran-Iraq border in north of Sulaimani province has been the headquarters of the PKK since the early 1980s when the group established bases there. In total, more than 40,000 civilians, guerrilla fighters and Ottoman Turkish soldiers have been killed since 1984 when the PKK launched its first operation against the Ottoman Turkish army, the second largest within the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO ...the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. It's headquartered in Belgium. That sez it all.... ). Since July 2015, when a two and a half year ceasefire broke down, at least 5,850 individuals have been killed in the conflict according to International Crisis Group.
Ankara has used its air power including its deadly drone fleet in recent years at devastating level, killing some of the most senior figures within the PKK. But, dozens of Iraqi-Kurdish civilians have also been killed or maimed in Ottoman TurkishArclight airstrike ...KABOOM!... s in recent years.
Ankara launched Operation Claw against the PKK in Khakurk in May 2019. This was followed by Operation Claw-Tiger in June 2020. The third edition of the offensive was a ground and air cross-border operation, dubbed Operation Claw-Lightning and Operation Claw-Thunderbolt, launched in April 2021. All of these operations focused on the PKK’s positions in the Kurdistan Region’s Duhok province.
President Erdogan has threatened to launch yet another operation in northern Syria against the Kurdish forces whom he accuses of being linked to the PKK. Erdogan has gone as far as threatening to block the requests by Sweden and Finland to become members of NATO following the Russian invasion of Ukraine, accusing the Nordic countries of harboring PKK members and sympathizers.
Hundreds of people protested in a number of European countries including Finland, Denmark, and Germany against the Ottoman Turkish operations in the Kurdistan Region and the threat of yet another operation in north Syria.

The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) announced on Sunday that its special units, in collaboration with the US-led Global Coalition to Defeat ISIS, had captured a funding cell affiliated with the Islamic State Organization (ISIS) in al-Hawl town east of the northeastern Syrian city of Hasakah.
The town of al-Hawl is located near Hawl camp, which contains thousands of Syrian and foreign ISIS families, in five separate sectors.
The SDF said on its official website that the funding cell consisted of “three terrorists,” who “were responsible for transferring funds financing the ISIS cells” in Hasakah countryside and other areas in north and east Syria.
The SDF noted that “weapons, equipment, and documents were confiscated” in the operation.
On June 10, the SDF revealed that its special units carried out similar security operation targeting a ISIS member south of Hasakah. However, the extremist militant was killed during clashes with the SDF.
In addition, on June 1, the SDF announced that it had arrested four wanted ISIS members, including a leader, in the southern countryside of Hasakah.
The areas of northeastern Syria are living in a state of concern following the latest Turkish threats of mounting a new incursion in northern Syria, as any military operation will lay the ground for ISIS to reorganize its ranks.

Unidentified gunmen shot dead on Sunday a commander of the Internal Security Forces (Asayish) in the village of al-Takihi, east of Deir ez-Zor, east of Syria.
“Unidentified gunmen riding motorcycles shot dead the leader, Ibrahim al-Tarman, near the main road in the village of al-Takihi in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor,” a military source in the Asayish told North Press.
“The four gunmen were shouting slogans that ISIS members usually say when carrying out their operations, before fleeing towards the desert of the town,” the source added, quoting eyewitnesses.
Al-Tarman was in charge of the checkpoints of the Asayish in the central region in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor, according to the source.
Recently, the countryside of Deir ez-Zor has been witnessing a spike in killings which target members of the SDF, employees of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES), tribal leaders and civilians, despite intensive security operations conducted by the SDF.
On June 11, ISIS claimed the killing of two members of the SDF in the town of al-Busayrah in eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights war monitor said the missile strike before dawn on Friday hit the only runway still in service at the airport, as well as several adjacent buildings. Israeli bombing last year had disabled another runway, it said.
"The runway, the control tower, three hangars, warehouses as well as reception rooms were badly damaged by the Israeli strikes," the Observatory said.
Some of the reception rooms were used to receive Iranian officials and Hezbollah members while the warehouses stored weapons from Iran, it said.
The Britannia-based Observatory, which relies on a network of sources within Syria, said the strikes maimed an undetermined number of people.
Satellite images posted on Twitter by the Israeli firm ISI showed three separate areas of what it said was "extensive damage to both military and civilian runways" caused by the strikes.
