Someone called into Howie Carr's show today and said he ran the numbers on the first flight - it would supply the US with baby formula... for 40 minutes.

That first shipment is a specialized variety for non-standard needs. That won’t impact the rest of the bottle-fed population, and those babies weren’t competing for the regular stuff anyway.
#5
According to the article, these shipments are for babies with cow’s milk protein allergies, and will supply 15% of that specific need — normal babies are out of luck. Abbott said they’ll be restarting production at the Michigan factory at the beginning of June, and in the meantime have been shipping in product from their facilities in Ireland, which were already FDA approved.
I imagine lots of babies are being started on solid food earlier than originally intended.
[NYPOST] Proving that what’s old is new again, here is how the late William Safire began his New York Times
...which still proudly displays Walter Duranty's Pulitzer prize... column of Jan. 8, 1996:
"Americans of all political persuasions are coming to the sad realization that our First Lady — a woman of undoubted talents who was a role model for many in her generation — is a congenital liar.
"Drip by drip, like Whitewater torture, the case is being made that she is compelled to mislead, and to ensnare her subordinates and friends in a web of deceit."
Safire detailed a series of situations where Crooked Hillary Clinton ...former first lady, former secretary of state, former presidential candidate, Conqueror of Benghazi, Heroine of Tuzla, formerly described by her supporters as the smartest woman in the world, usually described by the rest of us as The Thing That Wouldn't Go Away. Politix is not one of her talents, but it's something she keeps trying to do... was caught in obvious lies, and there is a straight line to the Hillary Clinton whose shadow hangs over the Michael Sussmann trial in Washington. Once again, Clinton is being exposed as "compelled to mislead" and ensnaring "her subordinates and friends in a web of deceit."
And to think she almost got away with stealing the presidency.
It is in keeping with her history that she is portrayed as the off-stage chief conniver at a trial that is, like her, something of a throwback. Coming six years after the 2016 presidential campaign, the Sussmann trial inevitably carries an air of anti-climax.
After all, we have known since the Robert Mueller report in 2019 that the charge that Donald Trump ...The tack in the backside of the Democratic Party... colluded with Russia was fake news. And we have known for almost as long that Clinton’s campaign secretly funded the smear merchants at Fusion GPS who hired Remington Christopher Steele who fabricated a "dossier" that was long on lies and gossip and short on facts.

It is said that men use power to get sex, and women use sex to get power. In Hillary's case, I'm having lots of trouble figuring out which men thought she was really worth banging, despite Safire's claim of her possessing 'undoubted talent'. It might mean code for 'chrome off a trailer hitch', but I'm just a half redneck; what do I know?

I think she's more an Eleanor Shaw type. She not only wore the pants in the Clinton household, but she knew how to keep them on. Her daughter's resemblance to Webb Hubbell suggests that despite it all, she had needs just like the rest of us.

Our Theodoraof Byzantium . As for me, I agree with the adage that the royal purple is the noblest shroud.

So it took the press 50 years to realize, or admit, what us Minyons knew since Watergate! She has always been corrupt, always believed in feeding America lies, and power is the priority over the well being of our nation.

Most of us didn't need a 6 year long Durham investigation to recognize these people as worthless pieces of kak.
[Red State] Joe Biden is in South Korea to talk about strengthening economic ties. But Joe being Joe, the visit has had its confusing moments. Indeed, the confusion started from the moment Joe touched down. He got off Air Force One wearing a mask, walking down the steps by himself with it on. But then, just as he got close to another person to greet him, he ripped it off. Someone is going to have to explain this to me because I look at it and all I think is his brain is no longer there. Either that or someone told him you can catch COVID from walking down airplane steps by yourself outside. Peak absurdity.

Joe's foreign policy is in flames. By the way, what happened to Ukraine? It's almost completely disappeared from US and British news coverage.
Looks like the combined weight of ceasefire calls by the Democrats (via the New York Times Editorial Board), Lloyd Austin, Macron, Schulz and Draghi are having their effect on the press.
Poor Ukrainians... the Telegraph editors quote the Times editors and write, "'a decisive military victory for Ukraine over Russia, in which Ukraine regains all the territory Russia has seized since 2014, is not a realistic goal,' the newspaper wrote.
"Ultimately, it said: 'It will be Ukrainian leaders who will have to make the painful territorial decisions that any compromise will demand.' Officials in Kyiv reacted with unconcealed fury.
What's prompting the 180 degree turnaround? The stock market crash?

Did they just figure out that there was no way to win this without going to open war? It's know as 'put up or shut up'.

Politicians in the West are seeing that this pointless war is putting everything at risk. Not just the nuclear threat but the entire economic stability of the Western world. France, Italy and Germany see the U.K. suffocating from high fuel and food costs and want to prevent the same thing happening in their countries.
Also, Macron and Scholz are alarmed at the possibility that two large East European countries in the EU (Poland and Ukraine) could shift the EU Center of gravity away from Paris and Berlin. Macron and Scholz want to stifle any kind of Warsaw-Kyiv axis before it is born.
Everyone except Zelensky wants the war to end quickly, with a pragmatic trade of land for peace.

They figured that out long ago. Lloyd Raytheon Austin & Co. waited until the MIC porkfest bill was passed, and then they promptly pivoted and shafted Biden (and Ukraine). The goal was never to "win." The goal is to line their pockets while they can, then bug out.

Come November, the Republicans will look at the electoral success of JD ("I don't really care what happens to Ukraine") Vance -- and recognize that, as Americans' wealth dissipates and gas reaches $10 for unleaded, the winning platform is to cut Ukraine loose and stop shoveling our shrinking resources into that money pit.

Exactly so. Beltway and MSM reactions prior to Vamce's decisive victory in the primary election:
"JD Vance's repulsive spin"
"JD Vance is as vile as it gets..."
"General McCaffery Calls Vance 'Russian Stooge'"
"Vance Scrambles to Prove He's Not a Russian Stooge"
"JD Vance's Apathy toward Ukraine is Backfiring"
'Backfiring,' LOL. He just won the primary by more than a ten-point margin in a crowded field. (No, Trump didn't help him much -- Trump botched his name and called him "JD Mandel.")

Make hay while the sun shines. And the sun is always shining somewhere for the MIC and Raytheon-Austin.
When the sun sets on Iraq, it shines on Syria, Libya and Afghanistan. When it sets on Syria-Libya, it keeps shining on Afghanistan. When it sets on Afghanistan, it shines on Ukraine. When it sets on Ukraine, it shines on Somalia...

Third time in nine months that the maundering meathead misspoke about the #1 flashpoint with our global adversary.
August 2021: Biden says US will come to Taiwan's aid if Taiwan's attacked. Jen Psaki jumps in, emphasizes that there “has been no shift” in US policy toward Taiwan.
October 2021: Biden says US will come to Taiwan's aid if Taiwan's attacked. A 'senior Biden administration official' immediately clarifies that US “policy with regard to Chinese-claimed Taiwan has not changed.”
Why does anyone still listen to this clown?

A multi-volume chronology and reference guide set detailing three years of the Mexican Drug War between 2010 and 2012.
Rantburg.com and borderlandbeat.com correspondent and author Chris Covert presents his first non-fiction work detailing
the drug and gang related violence in Mexico.
Chris gives us Mexican press dispatches of drug and gang war violence
over three years, presented in a multi volume set intended to chronicle the death, violence and mayhem which has
dominated Mexico for six years.
Rantburg was assembled from recycled algorithms in the United States of America. No
trees were destroyed in the production of this weblog. We did hurt some, though. Sorry.
