Biden's Confusion Hits Absurd Peak in South Korea
2022-05-23
[Red State] Joe Biden is in South Korea to talk about strengthening economic ties. But Joe being Joe, the visit has had its confusing moments. Indeed, the confusion started from the moment Joe touched down. He got off Air Force One wearing a mask, walking down the steps by himself with it on. But then, just as he got close to another person to greet him, he ripped it off. Someone is going to have to explain this to me because I look at it and all I think is his brain is no longer there. Either that or someone told him you can catch COVID from walking down airplane steps by yourself outside. Peak absurdity.

#14  ...because its way too obvious if they all show up at Obama's house.

#13  Third time in nine months that the maundering meathead misspoke about the #1 flashpoint with our global adversary.

August 2021: Biden says US will come to Taiwan's aid if Taiwan's attacked. Jen Psaki jumps in, emphasizes that there “has been no shift” in US policy toward Taiwan.

October 2021: Biden says US will come to Taiwan's aid if Taiwan's attacked. A 'senior Biden administration official' immediately clarifies that US “policy with regard to Chinese-claimed Taiwan has not changed.”

Why does anyone still listen to this clown?

#11  Don't forget les Européens. Ukraine is the biggest hayfield we've ever seen. So many ponies to feed... share the riches, spread it around

#10  #5 /\ The goal was never to "win." The goal is to line their pockets while they can, then bug out.

"Hay is mowed, allowing multiple crops. It is not harvested like potatoes."

Make hay while the sun shines. And the sun is always shining somewhere for the MIC and Raytheon-Austin.

When the sun sets on Iraq, it shines on Syria, Libya and Afghanistan. When it sets on Syria-Libya, it keeps shining on Afghanistan. When it sets on Afghanistan, it shines on Ukraine. When it sets on Ukraine, it shines on Somalia...

#9  #7 The more apparent it becomes that the average US citizen is not interested in the beltway's machinations in Ukraine, the harder that crowd will dig their heels in.

Exactly so. Beltway and MSM reactions prior to Vamce's decisive victory in the primary election:

"JD Vance's repulsive spin"
"JD Vance is as vile as it gets..."
"General McCaffery Calls Vance 'Russian Stooge'"
"Vance Scrambles to Prove He's Not a Russian Stooge"
"JD Vance's Apathy toward Ukraine is Backfiring"

'Backfiring,' LOL. He just won the primary by more than a ten-point margin in a crowded field. (No, Trump didn't help him much -- Trump botched his name and called him "JD Mandel.")

#6  Come November, the Republicans will look at the electoral success of JD ("I don't really care what happens to Ukraine") Vance -- and recognize that, as Americans' wealth dissipates and gas reaches $10 for unleaded, the winning platform is to cut Ukraine loose and stop shoveling our shrinking resources into that money pit.

#4  #2 Did they just figure out that there was no way to win this without going to open war?

They figured that out long ago. Lloyd Raytheon Austin & Co. waited until the MIC porkfest bill was passed, and then they promptly pivoted and shafted Biden (and Ukraine). The goal was never to "win." The goal is to line their pockets while they can, then bug out.

#3  Looks like the combined weight of ceasefire calls by the Democrats (via the New York Times Editorial Board), Lloyd Austin, Macron, Schulz and Draghi are having their effect on the press.

Politicians in the West are seeing that this pointless war is putting everything at risk. Not just the nuclear threat but the entire economic stability of the Western world. France, Italy and Germany see the U.K. suffocating from high fuel and food costs and want to prevent the same thing happening in their countries.

Also, Macron and Scholz are alarmed at the possibility that two large East European countries in the EU (Poland and Ukraine) could shift the EU Center of gravity away from Paris and Berlin. Macron and Scholz want to stifle any kind of Warsaw-Kyiv axis before it is born.

Everyone except Zelensky wants the war to end quickly, with a pragmatic trade of land for peace.

#1  Joe's foreign policy is in flames. By the way, what happened to Ukraine? It's almost completely disappeared from US and British news coverage.

Looks like the combined weight of ceasefire calls by the Democrats (via the New York Times Editorial Board), Lloyd Austin, Macron, Schulz and Draghi are having their effect on the press.

Poor Ukrainians... the Telegraph editors quote the Times editors and write, "'a decisive military victory for Ukraine over Russia, in which Ukraine regains all the territory Russia has seized since 2014, is not a realistic goal,' the newspaper wrote.

"Ultimately, it said: 'It will be Ukrainian leaders who will have to make the painful territorial decisions that any compromise will demand.' Officials in Kyiv reacted with unconcealed fury.

What's prompting the 180 degree turnaround? The stock market crash?
