[PJMedia] Ahmed Binyamin Alasiri, formerly known as Kevin Lamar James,
...also in our archives as Kevin James and Shakyh Shahaab Murshid, he converted to Islam while in Folsom prison for a previous robbery. To boost his jihadi credentials, he claimed to be the son of a Sudanese high government official, which must have been adorable...
had a new lease on life. According to the Department of Justice, he had served sixteen years in prison for plotting jihad attacks against "U.S. military operations and Israeli and Jewish facilities in Southern Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party,." But now he was out, and it was time to turn his life around and make something of himself, right? Not quite: on Monday, Alasiri was sentenced to fifteen and a half years in prison for selling meth while he was on supervised release.
The Justice Department noted that Alasiri "pleaded guilty in October 2021 to one count of distribution of methamphetamine." This plea stemmed from the fact that "about one year after being released from prison and while serving a term of federal supervised release, Alasiri sold methamphetamine to a buyer on three occasions."
[Garowe] The Somali National Army [SNA] and partner troops intensified operations against al-Shabaab ...... the Islamic version of the old Somali warlord... Death Eaters over the last two weeks, a report compiled by Armed Conflict Location and Event Data Project indicates, amid ongoing elections in the country.
According to the report, special focus was put on the Banadir region which hosts the capital Mogadishu and the Lower Jubba regions. The Death Eaters control large swathes of rural central and southern Somalia according to the US Africa Command.
Intensive fighting was reported in the two regions between the military and the bully boys, resulting in fatalities. "The festivities resulted in many fatalities among both military forces and bully boys," reads part of the report.
Furthermore, in the Galgaduud region, a joint U.S. Africa Command forces and Somali security forces [SNA] Arclight airstrike ...KABOOM!... on an Al-Shabaab stronghold in Hareeri-gubadle village killed dozens. Moreover, Death Eaters carried out a series of deadly IED attacks on security forces and civilians across the country, including foreign workers.
But the bully boys, the report adds, were able to increase raids in neighboring Kenya by attacking various bases along the border and deeper into the country. The attacks occurred in Mandera and Wajir counties.
"Al-Shabaab Death Eaters also carried out remote attacks across the border into Kenya within the Banissa and Wajir counties. Towards Giriley village, Al-Shabaab claimed that festivities with military forces led to the killing of many soldiers transporting supplies."
Despite suffering huge setbacks in Somalia, al-Shabaab managed to carry out at least four attacks in the country, killing over 60 people. The majority of the victims were residents of Beletwyene where twin blasts killed over 50 people according to official reports.
Somalia is battling instability for the last three decades but close cooperation between security forces has significantly degraded the bully boys. Somalia hosts close to 22,000 foreign troops who have managed to liberate several strategic towns from al-Shabaab.
[THEPOSTMILLENNIAL] An Indianapolis, Indiana, man pleaded guilty in federal court Monday after "repeatedly and intentionally jeopardizing the lives of coppers, destroying public property, and encouraging others to commit violence" during the 2020 Black lives Matter riots in Portland, Oregon, according to the Justice Department.
According to court documents, Malik Fard Muhammad, 25 was charged with possession of unregistered destructive devices, engaging in civil disorder and obstructing law enforcement, and using explosives to commit a federal felony.
On Monday, the defendant pleaded guilty to two counts of possessing unregistered destructive devices, the Department of Justice blurb reads.
A grand jury in Multnomah County had indicted Muhammad last year on allegations that he attempted to murder two coppers during separate riots in Portland by using bombs. The 28-count indictment included first and second-degree attempted murder, attempted aggravated murder, unlawful manufacture of a destructive device, and unlawful use of a weapon.
Multnomah County District Attorney Mike Schmidt announced Tuesday that Muhammad pled guilty to 14 felony charges and received a 10-year prison sentence. In addition, the court imposed over $200,000 in restitution.
Federal prosecutor Adam Delph previously argued in court that "Mr. Muhammad is not some peaceful protester who just got carried away. He was an instigator. He put a community, not his own, in serious danger," The Oregonian reported.
Muhammad traveled to Portland with his girlfriend from their home in Indianapolis to participate in area riots, according to court documents.
According to the DOJ, on Sept. 5, 2020, Muhammad was present during a large civil disturbance in east Portland where demonstrators threw dangerous objects at police, including commercial-grade fireworks, Molotov cocktails, and bottles. One demonstrator was seriously burned by a Molotov cocktail thrown toward police and Muhammad provided baseball bats to rioters, court documents said.
Following Muhammad's arrest in October that year, law enforcement officials confiscated his cell phone and found messages in which he bragged about giving the bats to rioters. Additionally, the phone contained a shopping list of supplies used to make Molotov cocktails, the DOJ statement details.
After the massive protest, police found a discarded bat with a Goodwill price tag near the scene, traced the item to the specific Goodwill store where the bat was purchased, and authorities obtained surveillance footage showing Muhammad and his girlfriend buying bats and "growler" bottles.

[OneIndia] Two Lashkar-e-Taiba ...the Army of the Pure, an Ahl-e-Hadith terror organization founded by Hafiz Saeed. LeT masquerades behind the Jamaat-ud-Dawa facade within Pakistain and periodically blows things up and kills people in India. (LeT) Death Eaters were killed in an encounter with security forces in Rainawari area of the city on Wednesday, police said.
An encounter broke out between Death Eaters and security forces in Rainawari area of Jammu and Kashmir ...a disputed territory lying between India and Pakistain. After partition, the Paks grabbed half of it and call it Azad (Free) Kashmir. The remainder they refer to as "Indian Occupied Kashmir". They have fought four wars with India over it, the score currently 4-0 in New Delhi's favor. After 72 years of this nonsense, India cut the Gordian knot in 2019, removing the area's special status, breaking off Ladakh as a separate state, and allowing people from other areas to settle (or in the case of the Pandits, to resettle) there.... Inspector General of Police Kashmir zone Vijay Kumar said one of the slain Death Eaters was carrying a 'press card'.

According to the card, Rayees Ahmad Bhat, the slain ultra, was editor in chief of Valley Media Service, an unknown news gathering agency.

[Dawn] Eight security personnel, including an army captain, were martyred and seven terrorists were killed in clashes between security forces and members of the proscribed Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Tank district and adjacent South Waziristan tribal district on Wednesday.
The ISPR said the terrorists launched a pre-dawn attack on a military compound in Tank, but security forces foiled their attempt to enter the complex. “During an intense exchange of fire, six soldiers, having fought gallantly, embraced shahadat (martyrdom),” it said..
In a statement, TTP spokesperson Mohammad Khorasani claimed responsibility for the attack on the FC fort in Tank.
Tank’s District Police Officer Waqar Ahmed told the media in Dera Ismail Khan that the militants attacked Frontier Constabulary (FC) Qila Tank. He said 22 FC and army personnel were also injured in the gunfight. The injured were shifted to the Tank district hospital. Those in critical condition were later referred to Combined Military Hospital in Dera Ismail Khan.
The exchange of fire continued for several hours. Police officials said the terrorists attacked the compound, where FC and army troops were stationed, at around 3am on Wednesday.
According to reports, terrorists attempted to sneak into the compound from behind a wall where concertina wire was not installed and the area was surrounded by bushes and hedges. Officials said the terrorists used ladders to climb the wall.
CLASHES IN MAKIN
Clashes also took place between security forces and terrorists in the Makin area of South Waziristan. During an intense exchange of fire, Captain Saad Bin Amir, 25, of Rawalpindi, and Lance Naik Mohammad Irfan, 37, of Tank were martyred, the ISPR said.
However, troops responded in a befitting manner, killing four terrorists. Security forces later combed the area for other terrorists.
The Pakistani #Taliban announce they would launch a #Ramadan offensive against security forces, after claiming an attack which the military said has killed at least six of its soldiers.https://t.co/52pCD8CjaD
The Pak Taliban ...Arabic for students... on Wednesday announced they would launch a Ramadan offensive against security forces, after claiming an attack which the military said killed at least six of its soldiers.
The Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistain (TTP), a separate movement that shares common roots with the faceless myrmidons that took power in Afghanistan last year,
...the Afghan Taiban are primarily Pashtun, the TTP are primarily Punjabi, but they seem to exchange personnel readily...
have stepped up attacks in recent months.
The government held a series of talks with the faceless myrmidons late last year before an agreed truce collapsed.
The spring offensive will begin on the first day of the Moslem holy month of Ramadan, starting on Sunday or Monday, and will target security forces and their collaborators, Mohammad Khorasani, front man for TTP Death Eater group said in a statement.
"This operation will include martyrdom [suicide] operations, ambush attacks, mine operations, counter-attacks, target attacks, laser and sniper operations," he added.
The TTP are pressuring the government to allow faceless myrmidons to return to their hometowns with impunity after imported muscle were told by the Afghan Taliban to leave Afghanistan.
A spring offensive is a rare move by the TTP.
It comes after the country’s armed forces said faceless myrmidons attempted to storm a compound in the border region near Afghanistan, killing at least six Pak troops.
The attack was claimed by TTP, who said they had killed or maimed more than 30 soldiers.
The faceless myrmidons often exaggerate their gains, while the military’s public relations department also plays down losses or delays reporting them.
The announcement came as Prime Minister Imran Khan ...aka The Great Khan, who who convinced himself that playing cricket qualified him to lead a nuclear-armed nation with severe personality disorders... was facing a no-confidence vote - the biggest challenge to his power since becoming leader in 2018.
Pakistain’s restive border region has long been a stronghold for groups such as the TTP, which operates across the porous boundary with Afghanistan.
The group plunged the country into a period of horrific violence after forming in 2007, before a major crackdown in 2014 forced them into hiding across the border.
But since the Taliban’s takeover of Kabul, the local group has become emboldened and carried out dozens of such attacks on Pakistain’s soil.
The TTP and Islamabad agreed to a truce in November.
But it failed on December 10, with the hardliners accusing the government of violating the terms of the truce.
On Wednesday, an Iraqi military commander revealed that armed groups are following a new method to target convoys carrying logistical support equipment for the US-led Coalition while passing through the southern governorates.
"The armed groups were adopting a classic plan in targeting the Global Coalition, which is to plant explosive devices on both sides of the international highway from the farthest of Basra to Baghdad." The Commander told Shafaq News Agency.
"The new tactic is to target the convoy directly by throwing the explosive device from a vehicle, or planting the device inside the convoy, whether in Baghdad or Basra."
The Iraqi authorities issued several warnings of repeated targeting of foreign forces and diplomatic missions in the country.
Washington accuses armed Iraqi factions linked to Iran of being behind the attacks.
On Wednesday, the US-led Coalition denied what Iraqi factions claimed that an army convoy had been targeted in Syria.
Earlier today, a little-known Iraqi Shi'ite militia group named Ashab al-Kahf had said that it destroyed a US military convoy on the Syrian territory.
In brief, the Global Coalition said, "information claimed by militias that they are adopting the operation of targeting an American military convoy in Syria do not reflect reality."
