[NYPOST] At least half a dozen people were shot across the Big Apple overnight, police said Thursday — as the surging gun violence shows no signs of slowing.
One of the incidents was fatal — and allegedly involved the gang member accused of opening fire on NYPD officers in Brooklyn around 11:15 p.m.
Sources said Boyce Hayward is suspected in a shooting just minutes earlier in Bushwick that left a 28-year-old man dead and a 21-year-old man hospitalized.
Both victims — who sources said were members of the Crips gang — were shot multiple times in the torso inside a white BMW SUV before the suspect fled.
The fatal encounter adds to the soaring number of shootings so far this year, which has seen more than 450 shooting incidents with over 500 victims of gunplay.

[Breitbart] U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris told Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador during a recent virtual meeting on border security that the U.S. would send surplus coronavirus vaccines to Mexico once health officials approve them for use.
Harris “told us they are very willing to deliver to countries that don’t have vaccines what they’ve accumulated from the AstraZeneca vaccine,” the Mexican president, known as AMLO, told reporters Tuesday.
“But before making those shipments, they are carrying out tests on the vaccines because they don’t want to send something that’s not in good condition, that they’re not vaccines which have expired,” he said.
VP Harris, tapped by President Joe Biden to lead the White House response to the crisis at the U.S. southern border by addressing the root causes of migration, offered the vaccines during a virtual meeting with the Mexican president last Friday. The White House readout of the conversation suggested was primarily focused on immigration.
The Biden administration’s vaccine gift could be seen as a quid pro quo — a means to motivate Mexico to intensify immigration enforcement.
So far, the Mexican immigration authorities appear to be primarily targeting illegal migrants from Central America.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) data for April shows arrests of single adults from Mexico increased to levels not seen since the 2000s.
The number of Mexican nationals apprehended by CBP in April was nearly three times higher than in May 2019, a hectic month during the last migration surge.
Overall, the number of migrants encountered by CBP agents reached record levels in April, suggesting Mexico is not doing much to secure its southern border and stem the migrant surge at the U.S. southern border.

Tanden will now be a senior advisor to Biden, the White House said Friday. She will launch a review of the US Digital Service and begin planning for possible policy changes that could result from the forthcoming Supreme Court decision on GOP legal challenges to the Affordable Care Act.

Any agreement that does not receive the broad and bipartisan support of Congress will not survive if a Republican is elected president in 2024. "Any sanctions relief will also be severely limited if Republicans win back majorities in Congress in 2022," the group stressed.

Jimmy Carter used the misery index in his 1976 presidential campaign against incumbent Gerald Ford since at the time there was no FISA court to authorize illegal spying on presidential candidates. In January 1975, almost two years before the election, the misery index was a whopping 19.9%.
It dropped below 15% ahead of the election, but still made for a great campaign issue for Carter to use against Ford. Carter won the election and instead of lowering the misery index, he allowed karma to bite him hard. Ford almost hit 20% during his administration, but Carter said, "Hold my beer" and jacked it up to almost 22% in June 1980, just months before Ronald Reagan sent Carter back to Georgia.

Once he received approval — it’s not clear why he needed approval — he then bit into the burger while still speaking.
"I want you to look at this and think about — again, some people love hamburgers, some don’t, I really want to respect all ways of life — but if this is appealing to you, just think of this when you think of vaccination," he said.

President Joe Biden has a short temper and sometimes unloads outbursts of profanity on his aides, the New York Times reported Friday.
The report notes Biden holds lengthy deliberation meetings and demands obsessive details from his advisors. When advisors get too technical or obscure about an issue, Biden responds with "an outburst of frustration, often laced with profanity."
"On policy issues, Mr. Biden, 78, takes days or weeks to make up his mind as he examines and second-guesses himself and others," the Times report continues.
The report also reveals Biden will hang up the phone on people who he feels are wasting his time.
The president leans heavily on his inner circle for governing — chief of staff Ron Klain, deputy chief of staff Bruce Reed, senior adviser Mike Donilon, and Counselor to the President Steve Ricchetti.
Biden stalls and deliberates intently on issues such as his tone toward Vladimir Putin, the report noted, appointing ambassadors, and his recent flip-flop on refugee caps.
Other details in the Times story include Biden’s love of pasta with red sauce, vanilla chocolate chip ice cream, and Special K cereal. His drink of choice? Orange Gatorade. Biden also "eschews alcohol," according to the report that adds First Lady Jill Biden is considered a connoisseur of wines.
