[AlAhram] The UN said Thursday it will maintain its political and humanitarian mission to Afghanistan despite the departure of US and NATO ...the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. A cautionary tale of cost-benefit analysis.... troops later this year.
Stephane Dujarric, front man to the UN secretary-general, said it was "clear and obvious" that the troops' departure "will have an impact on the country as a whole," in response to questions about the mission's future.
"We will continue to study the situation, but our work in Afghanistan will continue," he said.
"The UN has been present on the humanitarian development end in Afghanistan for a long, long time, and we will continue to be there to help the Afghan people," he said, adding that the organization would "adapt to the situation on the ground."
The United Nations ...an idea whose time has gone... Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) is a small political operation comprised of approximately 1,200 employees, the vast majority of whom are Afghan nationals, and does not include peacekeepers.
And with all UN agencies included, the organization's total presence in Afghanistan amounts to approximately 4,000 people, some 75 percent of whom are Afghan.
There are two UN envoys to Afghanistan: Canada's Deborah Lyons who is the head of UNAMA and veteran French diplomat Jean Arnault who was appointed in March to "assist in the achievement of a political solution to the conflict."
US President Joe The Big Guy Biden ...46th president of the U.S. The very model of probity.... announced Wednesday the unconditional withdrawal of US troops from Afghanistan, naming September 11 as the deadline by which the last soldiers will have finally departed. The pullout will begin on May 1.
The Pentagon has around 2,500 troops in Afghanistan, down from a high of more than 100,000. Thousands more serve as part of a 9,600-strong NATO force, which will also withdraw at the same time.
[LIBYAREVIEW] Libya’s Burkan al-Ghadab military force posted pictures on its Twitter account showing the training of personnel, under the supervision of Ottoman Turkish forces in western Libya. It said that the exercises come "within the framework of the military cooperation agreement concluded between the two countries," which was previously signed by the Tripoli ...a confusing city, one end of which is located in Lebanon and the other end of which is the capital of Libya. Its chief distinction is being mentioned in the Marine Hymn... -based Government of National Accord (GNA) and Ankara.
These exercises come despite the ceasefire agreement signed by the 5+5 Joint Military Committee (JMC), in Geneva on 23 October 2020. This called for the cessation of military operations, and the complete withdrawal of foreign forces and mercenaries from Libya. The agreement was met with great support from the international community, and the United Nations ...a formerly good idea gone bad... In December 2019, The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire... signed two MoUs on defence and gas drilling in the Mediterranean with the GNA. Ankara has provided weapons, military training, and foreign mercenaries to the GNA, with reports indicating that Turkey has also transferred more than 18,000 mercenaries from Syria to western Libya.

[ENGLISH.AAWSAT] Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry has reiterated his country’s firm support for Morocco’s territorial integrity and serious efforts to resolve the Western Sahara region’s dispute.
Shoukry and his Moroccan counterpart Nasser Bourita held talks via videoconference on Thursday, during which they discussed bilateral relations and developments in regional issues of common interest.
Both ministers stressed the importance of bolstering the economic and investment relations to serve their people’s interests.
They pointed to the two countries’ ability to improve cooperation in various fields, given their strategic location, economic capabilities and human competencies.
They further expressed hope the health conditions in light of the coronavirus pandemic would improve to set a date for the fourth round of the Coordination and Political Consultation Mechanism in Cairo, as soon as possible.
This mechanism is institutional and enables the two countries to exchange visions and enhance coordination on various regional issues.
The FMs also agreed that the situation in the Arab world requires intensifying bilateral consultation and coordination, stressing the reinforcement of solidarity to address the complex challenges faced by the region’s states.
Bourita and Shoukry also stressed their countries’ adherence to the security and stability of the Arab region, their rejection of foreign interventions in its affairs and the importance of respecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of states.

[ENGLISH.AAWSAT] Relations between Algiers and Ankara have reportedly become strained against the backdrop of meetings between representatives of the Ottoman Turkish authorities and members of the Rachad Movement.
The Algerian authorities classify the Rachad movement as an murderous Moslem group that threatens national security.
Informed sources told Algerian newspaper el-Khabar that the meetings were held on two occasions in Istanbul and Antalya during which the two sides discussed means of supporting the organization to empower it in Algeria.
The newspaper reported that Algerian authorities became aware of the meeting, which is expected to lead to tensions between the two countries.
The sources also indicated that the Ottoman Turkish regime, under President His Enormity, Sultan Recep Tayyip Erdogan the First ...Turkey's version of Mohammed Morsi but they voted him back in so they deserve him. It's a sin, a shame, and a felony to insult the president of Turkey. In Anatolia did Recep Bey a stately Presidential Palace decree, that has 1100 rooms. That's 968 more than in the White House, 400 more than in Versailles, and 325 more than Buckingham Palace, so you know who's really more important... , might have decided to add Algeria to its list as a new target in North Africa, and wants to mobilize the sleeper cells of this organization.
The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...the decaying remnant of the Ottoman Empire... is trying to remotely intervene in the internal affairs of Algeria and destabilize the nation, according to the sources.
The sources said the hosting of Rachad members is a provocation, which will suspend the relations between the two countries, especially at a time when leaks indicate Algeria is trying to put the movement on its list of terrorist organizations.
However, you can observe a lot just by watching... all indications suggest that bilateral relations between Algeria and Ankara have become exemplary in political consultation, security coordination, and cooperation, which includes several strategic fields.
Earlier this month, the High-Security Council, chaired by President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, warned of "subversive activities" by "illegal movements close to terrorism ... exploiting weekly [Hirak] marches."
The Council condemned "separatist circles" in reference to the Rachad movement and another group seeking independence for the Kabyle region.
Tebboune stressed that the state will not tolerate these deviations, which are not linked to democracy and human rights One man's rights are another man's existential threat. in any way, demanding the "immediate and rigorous application of the law" to end such activities.
"The state will be intransigent," warned Tebboune.

[DAILYWIRE] The national Black Lives Matter (BLM) organization sent legal threats to a prominent New York BLM activist for using the Black Lives Matter name, according to both parties.
BLM Global Network Foundation, cofounded by Patrisse Cullors, sent cease-and-desist letters to BLM Greater New York leader Hank Newsome claiming Newsome’s group is illegally uses the Black Lives Matter name, according to The Daily Caller News Foundation (DCNF). Newsome earlier this week called for an independent investigation into Cullors’ finances after she reportedly spent millions on new properties.
BLM Greater New York is unaffiliated with the national BLM group and is illegally operating under the BLM name, the foundation argued in its letters to Newsome.
Newsome "is not and has never been a part of the official Black Lives Matter organization, but continues to use BLM’s name even after sending him multiple cease and desist letters. Therefore, any mention of him as a leader is not factual," and outside front man for the BLM Global Network Foundation said. "Only BLM chapters who adhere to BLM’s principles and code of ethics are permitted to use the BLM name."
The national BLM group does not have legal rights over the Black Lives Matter name. The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office rejected six applications from the group to trademark the phrase.

Whatever preparations local authorities in the Minneapolis area have been up to will most likely turn out to be a joke. About the only appropriate preparation would be to call up the National Guard prior to the announcement of a verdict, imposing an around the clock curfew with only essential travel allowed, and arrest of violators, with particular attention given to new arrivals from out of the area. Not that any of this will happen.

The moment the verdict is announced, the entire NYPD goes on Vacation to disneyworld!
[DAWN] The Beautiful Downtown Peshawar ...capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, administrative and economic hub for the Federally Administered Tribal Areas of Pakistan. Peshawar is situated near the eastern end of the Khyber Pass, convenient to the Pak-Afghan border. Peshawar has evolved into one of Pakistain's most ethnically and linguistically diverse cities, which means lots of gunfire... police on Thursday booked organisers and participants of the Aurat March in Islamabad on the orders of a local court on the charge of committing blasphemy ...the act of insulting or showing contempt or lack of reverence to a deity, or sacred objects, or toward something considered sacred or inviolable. Some religions consider it to be a crime. In Pakistain you can commit blasphemy by looking cross-eyed at a Koran... They, however, made no arrests immediately.
The FIR was registered at the East Cantonment cop shoppe, under sections 295-A and C of the Pakistain Penal Code, which deals with ’malicious acts intended to outrage religious feelings of any class by insulting its religion and use of derogatory remarks in respect of Holy Prophet Mohammad (PTUI!)’.
Five Peshawar-based lawyers led by Ibrar Hussain had filed a petition with the court of additional district and sessions judge Syed Shaukat Ali Shah last month seeking the registration of a case against the organisers and participants of the Aurat March in Islamabad under Section 22-A of the Code of Criminal Procedure over an alleged blasphemy.
On March 24, the court hearing the said petition had ordered the officials of East Cant cop shoppe to register the FIR against the March’s organisers.
In the FIR, the complainants said the Aurat March was held in Islamabad and other cities of the country on the occasion of the International Women’s Day on March 8.
They alleged that during the Islamabad event, the participants had uttered derogatory remarks against the Holy Prophet Mohammad (PTUI!) and other sacred personalities of Moslems, and displayed un-Islamic and obscene posters on the instructions of organisers hurting the feelings and sentiments of Moslems, including theirs.
The complainants also filed a contempt petition against the police for delaying the FIR registration.
On Thursday, station house officer of East Cantonment cop shoppe Imran Alam appeared before the additional district and session judge and presented a copy of the FIR before the court.
The court disposed of the contempt petition following the FIR’s production of FIR by the police.
The petitioners through their counsels Gohar Saleem and Ajmal Mohmand had submitted to the court that the East Cantonment cop shoppe was deliberately delaying registration of FIR despite court orders and flouting court’s orders.
Earlier, petitioners Ibrar Hussain, Israr Hussain and three other lawyers had approached the court under Section 22-A of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC), which empowers the court to act as ’Justice of Peace’ and issue an appropriate order in case of non-registration of a criminal case by the police.
The petitioners had claimed that they had approached the cop shoppe but the staff members were reluctant to register the case.
Following the proceedings, the court had ruled that the contents of the petition constitute a cognisable offence and the local police was under legal obligation to register FIR of the occurrence as per the version of the petitioners.
The court had directed the station house officer (SHO) of East Cantonment cop shoppe of Peshawar to register an FIR of the march as reported by the petitioners under the relevant law.
The Aurat March’s organisers have already filed a petition with the Peshawar High Court against the order of the additional district judge on multiple grounds.
They questioned the allegations levelled by the complainant and said no objectionable thing had happened during their event in Islamabad.
The organisers also wondered how an FIR could be registered in Peshawar when the event was held in Islamabad.
Few days ago, a high court bench had sought comments from the government and local police on that petition.
Earlier, the KP Bar Council passed two resolutions in its meeting on March 15 urging the government to take action against the organisers and different NGOs for holding the Aurat March in different cities of the country.

[DAWN] The Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (Pemra) has banned the television and radio coverage of the Tehreek-i-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) after it was declared a proscribed entity by the government, it emerged on Friday.
In a communique sent to all satellite TV channels and FM radio stations, a copy of which is available with Dawn.com, the authority referred to the Ministry of Interior's notification in which it said the government "has declared Tehreek Labbaik Pakistan as a proscribed organisation for being engaged in act of terrorism, [and] acting in a manner prejudicial to the peace and security of the country".
It noted that the Pemra (Television Broadcast Station Operation) Regulation, 2012, and the Electronic Media Code of Conduct, 2015, required that programmes "shall conform to the laws of the country". Additionally, Clause 3(3) of the Electronic Media Code of Conduct, 2015, "prohibits media coverage to proscribed organisations".

[Rudaw] The Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems.... group (ISIS) on Friday grabbed credit for a boom-mobileing in Baghdad on Thursday that killed one person and injured 12 others.
In a statement carried on Telegram channels linked to the group, ISIS claimed they carried out a boom-mobileing in Baghdad’s Sadr City, killing and injuring 20 people and destroying five vehicles.
The blast, in the al-Habibiya neighbourhood of the Sadr City suburb, killed the driver of the car instantly and set on fire another five vehicles, according to Iraq’s Security Media Cell.
[Rudaw] Nineveh police found more than $ 1.5 million in cash and gold bars hidden by the Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. (ISIS) in a house in djinn-infested Mosul ... the home of a particularly ferocious and hairy djinn... , the Ministry of Interior announced on Thursday.
In an official statement, the ministry said that Nineveh police found cash and bars of gold and silver belonging to the "Diwan of Finance" — or ISIS financial department - in a home in the Old City.
Police also seized 17 million Iraqi dinars and 15 kilograms of shredded silver bars for the purpose of printing ISIS coins, according to the statement.
The stash was found buried three meters underground, uncovered by excavators removing rubble from the Old City, according to a statement from the Supreme Judicial Council. So it was probably 15 Mil before they "found it...."
ISIS seized vast swathes northern Iraq in the summer of 2014, including Mosul — Iraq’s second largest city. Although the Iraqi government announced the territorial defeat of ISIS in December 2017, remnants of the group have returned to earlier insurgency tactics, ambushing security forces, kidnapping and executing suspected informants, extorting money from vulnerable rural populations, and carrying out kabooms.
Large parts of Mosul are still destroyed, with the bodies of people killed in the war against ISIS still lying under the rubble.
[ENGLISH.AAWSAT] Western governments condemned violence in northern Iraq and said on Friday that attacks on foreign troops should not be tolerated, after US and Ottoman Turkish forces were targeted in two separate incidents on April 14.
"We, the governments of La Belle France, Germany, Italia, the United Kingdom, and the United States of America condemn in the strongest terms the April 14 attacks in the Iraqi Kurdistan Region," the statement from Britannia's foreign ministry said.
"Attacks on US and Coalition personnel and facilities will not be tolerated and reiterate our steadfast commitment to the fight against ISIS," the statement added.
Wednesday's attack on US forces at Erbil International Airport was the first time an explosives-laden drone was used against a US target in Erbil, an Iraqi security official said.
A Ottoman Turkish soldier was also killed in a rocket attack on Ottoman Turkish troops stationed in northern Iraq - a separate attack to Erbil but at around the same time.

As if the New York Times would run a leak from Israel without confirmation from their friends in the American government. But in any case, their story was that American officials said it was Israel, American officials who subsequently said America hadn’t done it, and only then did Israel give the Harris-Biden administration cover by saying they hadn’t informed the U.S. until afterward.

will there still be any Iranians then?
There will still be descendants of Persian Jews in Israel, a large portion of them still keeping records of their lineal descent from the House of David, But the Iranians themselves will have died out some time in the 22nd century after having failed to produce enough descendants of their own. No doubt the land will be filled with a combination of Kurds, Hazara Afghans, and Arabs.
[AnNahar] Iran ...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan. The abbreviation IRGC is the same idea as Stürmabteilung (or SA). The term Supreme Guide is a the modern version form of either Duce or Führer or maybe both. They hate JewsZionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol... began enriching uranium up to 60% purity Friday, its highest level ever, after an attack targeted its Natanz nuclear site, the country's parliament speaker said.
The comment by Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf, quoted by state television ... and if you can't believe state television who can you believe?
, did not elaborate on the amount Iran planned to enrich. However, corruption finds a dozen alibis for its evil deeds... it is likely to raise tensions even as Iran negotiates with world powers in Vienna over a way to allow the U.S. back into the agreement and lift the crushing economic sanctions it faces.
The announcement also marks a significant escalation after the sabotage that damaged centrifuges, an attack this past weekend suspected of having been carried out by Israel. While Israel has yet to claim it, the country is widely suspected of having carried out the still-unexplained sabotage at Natanz, Iran's main enrichment site.
"The will of the land of the Medes and the Persians is a miracle-maker and it will defuse any conspiracy," state television ... and if you can't believe state television who can you believe?
quoted Qalibaf as saying. He said the enrichment began just after midnight Friday.
The move could inspire a further response from Israel amid a long-running shadow war between the nations.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has vowed never to allow Tehran to obtain a nuclear weapon and his country has twice preemptively bombed Mideast nations to stop their atomic programs.
