[IsraelTmes] The Canadian government designates the Proud Boys group as a terrorist entity, noting they played a pivotal role in the insurrection at the US Capitol on Jan. 6.
The Proud Boys have faced increased scrutiny after seizing on the former Trump administration’s policies and was a major agitator during earlier protests and the Capitol riot on Jan. 6. The Proud Boys is a far-right, male chauvinist murderous Moslem group known for engaging in violent mostly peacefulfestivities at political rallies.
And they’re icky. Of course Justin Trudeau’s Canada did this.
Canada is the first country to designate them as a terrorist entity.
During a September presidential debate, Donald Trump ...His ancestors didn't own any slaves... had urged them to "stand back and stand by" when asked to condemn them by a moderator.
A Canadian government bigwig says the Jan. 6 insurrection at the US Capitol contributed to the designation.
The terrorist designation means the group may have assets seized and face harsher terrorism-related criminal penalties. A government official says just because they are a member doesn’t mean they will be charged with a crime, but if they do engage in violent mostly peaceful acts they could be charged with terrorist crimes.
Sending money to the organization or buying Proud Boys paraphernalia would also be a crime.
"The group and its members have openly encouraged, planned, and conducted violent mostly peaceful activities against those they perceive to be opposed to their ideology and political beliefs," the Canadian government says in briefing materials.
"The group regularly attends Black Lives Matter (BLM) protests as counter-protesters, often engaging in violence targeting BLM supporters. On January 6, 2021, the Proud Boys played a pivotal role in the insurrection at the US Capitol."
The government calls the Proud Boys a neo-fascist ...anybody you disagree with, damn them... organization with semiautonomous chapters located in the United States, Canada, and internationally. It said it engages in political violence and that members espouse misogynistic, Islamophobic, anti-Semitic, anti-immigrant, and white supremacist ideologies.
[Just the News] Rep. Adam Schiff is lobbying fellow Democrat Gov. Gavin Newsom to appoint him as the state's next attorney general, according to a news report.
Schiff's purported effort to become the state's top law enforcement official was reported Axios.
The job was recently left open after President Biden selected then-Attorney General Xavier Becerra to be his Health and Human Services secretary.
Schiff, chairman the House Intelligence Committee and one of the most power Democrats on Capitol Hill, has support for his effort from House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, according to the report.
However, the departure of Schiff would further diminish Pelosi's narrow Democratic majority, because House seats are filled only by election, not by appointment. It would take about six months for a special election to replace Schiff.
The effort is being consider by some an attempt by Schiff, whose congressional district is in Los Angeles County, to better position himself to run for California Sen. Dianne Feinstein's seat should the 87-year-old lawmaker not seek reelection in 2024.
Newsom has yet publicly say who he plans to choose for the attorney general post.

However, the departure of Schiff would further diminish Pelosi's narrow Democratic majority,
...which means I fully support it.
His long-range goal is the governorship.
I didn't consider that angle at first but (Spock voice) the cadet's logic is sound. Do you think Newsom would do it? The potential for Schiff to stab Newsom in the back is incredibly high, especially if Newsom has plans on running again in 2023.
Now there's two reasons to support the move - book it, done.

This guy shouldn't be anywhere near the wheels of government--A more-than-a-few screws loose and an inveterate liar make for a dangerous combination.

the departure of Schiff would further diminish Pelosi's narrow Democratic majority,
He’ll be replaced by another Democrat, but at least it will be one without any seniority, who therefore won’t have any power. And, very likely, will want to be another member of The Squad of the Vicious Stupids.
[National Pulse] President Biden’s Treasury Secretary — Janet Yellen — signed an ethics agreement on December 29, 2020. By the end of January, she had already broken it.
The agreement, addressed to the U.S. Treasury’s ethics official Brian Sonlon, states:
"The purpose of this letter is to describe the steps that I will take to avoid any actual or apparent conflict of interest in the event that I am confirmed for the position of Secretary, Department of the Treasury. It is my responsibility to understand and comply with commitments outlined in this agreement."
Within two weeks of the Biden regime taking power, however, Yellen was embroiled in an ongoing scandal surrounding GameStop shares and the companies who sought to profit by billions by first short-selling the stock, then attempting to lock retail users out of apps like Robinhood.
Yellen, 74, was described by Press Secretary Jen Psaki as, "monitoring the situation." Psaki actually said:
"Well, I’m also happy to repeat that we have the first female Treasury Secretary and a team that’s surrounding her. And, often, questions about market we’ll send to them. But our team is, of course — our economic team, including Secretary Yellen and others, are monitoring the situation."
But Yellen took hundreds of thousands of dollars in speaking fees from entities such as Citadel, one of the hedge funds seeking to benefit from manipulating the market while others are locked out.
In fact Yellen’s ethics agreement specifically mentions Citadel, which she took nearly a million dollars from in recent years.
Section 6 of her ethics agreement states that Yellen must receive a written authorization to participate personally and substantially in any particular matter involving parties such as Citadel. But Psaki insists Yellen is already dealing with the matter, and "monitoring the situation." This falls under the description of "actual or apparent conflict of interest."
[California Globe] Pelosi-backed Schiff, Sacramento-backed Bonta lobbying Newsom heavily for AG position
On Wednesday, reports came out that Congressman Adam Schiff (D-CA) is heavily lobbying Governor Gavin Newsom to be appointed the state’s next Attorney General.
In December, then-President-elect Joe Biden chose California Attorney General Xavier Becerra to become the next Department of Health and Human Services Secretary. While Becerra has yet to leave the AG post, he is expected to resign following a an almost-assured Congressional approval. While the Governor is confirmed to have people in mind, Newsom has said that he will not announce his pick until after Becerra is confirmed.
For the last two months, many have lobbied to become the next California AG.
Schiff, a Harvard graduate who was a state Senator for 4 years before becoming a Los Angeles-districted Congressman in 2001, was revealed to have the support of many top Democrats on Wednesday, including Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), who has been lobbying for Schiff’s installment in recent weeks. Pelosi, along with other supporters of Schiff, are hoping to give him more of an in-state presence for a possible Senate or Gubernatorial run in the coming years, while also giving Governor Newsom a nationally known figure to help his own stature, especially in light of a growing recall movement against him.
However, many of Governor Newsom’s advisors are pushing towards other candidates despite top California Democrats urging Schiff. Assemblyman Rob Bonta (D-Oakland) is seen as the most likely challenger for the spot, with many around Newsom urging him to pick him as the first Filipino AG in state history. As he was a former city attorney of San Francisco, the local connection to Newsom may make him more favored for the spot.
WASHINGTON-BACKED SCHIFF, SACRAMENTO-BACKED BONTA
"Schiff ran the Russia investigation against Trump awhile back and was Chairman of the committee over his impeachment," explained Washington-based political researcher Matt Thomas. "To Democrats, he’s the guy to go to for important matters, and having him as the Attorney General in California would make him be instantly credible to over half the state. The problem is is that he hasn’t really spent that much time in California since being elected in two decades ago, so becoming Attorney General would help entrench him back in the state, probably long enough to get Senator Feinstein's seat or maybe take over after Newsom."
"I don't know too much about Bonta, but considering he's from Newsom's neck of the woods, is a minority, and has a good background, he may get it from him."
"We also have to entertain the idea that Newsom may just pick a third person no one is really looking into, which is kind of his style. He doesn’t have the best reputation right now though, with the national party distancing themselves a little from him now due to that impeachment movement and his declining popularity. But adding Schiff to the mix would frustrate Republicans there and would reenergize Newsom a bit. But until Becerra is in, we won’t really know. Pelosi doesn't want to lose another Democrat seat in the narrow House majority, but in this case, it would be done to protect a Governor seat. Pelosi is playing the odds in backing him."
Governor Newsom is due to make his Attorney General selection sometime this month after the confirmation of Xavier Becerra.
[Breitbart] House Republican Conference chair Liz Cheney (R-WY) survived a leadership challenge Wednesday night after most Republicans voted to keep her as the third-ranking House Republican.
The House Republican Conference held a secret ballot on whether the House GOP should oust Cheney.
Sixty-one House Republicans voted to oust her, 145 Republicans voted to keep her, and one Republican voted present.
The vote came after House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) spoke in defense of Cheney.
The House GOP Conference ballot was held because many House conservatives led a movement to remove Cheney as the third-ranking Republican after she announced that she would vote to impeach President Donald Trump.
"I won’t apologize for the vote," Cheney told the House Republican Conference.
