They are supposedly going to get compensatory time off instead of overtime pay.
This is unusual but not unprecedented. It happens a lot in the military manufacturing biz. Some people like this since time off is not taxed but overtime is.

...yes, but they say that up front, not after the work has been done.
[FoxNews] Protests and destruction erupted in Atlanta on Saturday night in response to the police-involved shooting death of a 27-year-old man outside a Wendy’s fast-food restaurant.
Television images showed the restaurant on fire around 9:30 p.m. ET as rioters filled the parking lot where Brooks was shot in the back by police after allegedly grabbing a stun gun away from an officer during a struggle.
Smaller fires were also seen in the area.
Nearby, protesters were gathering along University Avenue, with Atlanta police blocking access ramps to Interstate 85, apparently to keep the protesters off the roadway, FOX 5 of Atlanta reported.

Yeah, burn the restaurant down that had nothing to do with the shooting. That'll teach them. Idiots.
And if you watch the footage, the guy had been drinking, was passed out in his car, and the police were polite and even gentle with him at the start of the incident. Then the guy was resisting arrest with force, battery on a law officer, and evading arrest for a DUI, stole the taser from the police officer, and then shot the taser at the officer. He was no hero, no matter how much BLM wants to use him as such.
The City of Atlanta are going to lose the case - they fired the cop and he will win his lawsuit. Union will get him back. And any "murder" chage will not fly, not even manslaughter can be held. Guy has been drinking, resisted arrest, took a weapon from an officer, ran and fired it striking the officer and putting him out of the chase - so the pursuing office can assume the suspect is hostile, has shown willingness to engage the police with force, is suspected of a felony (DUI), and the officer believed that he was a threat and might have a weapon. Case closed, you'll never get a conviction if the guy has competent representation and gets a change of venue.
And why the hell burn the Wendys down? They had nothing to do with it, and now you've just destroyed a business and jobs in the neighborhood. Damned fools.

Burnt the Wendy's down?!? You gotta be kidding me. Oh, well, just another example of the lack of rational thought and intelligence on the part of the mob.

Face it: if the dead guy had been using an AK-47, the results would have been the same - cop fired, police chief resigned, riots.
People are just looking for an excuse at this point.

What is the dynamic behind the police chief resigning? Given that affirmative action hires are generally useless to mediocre at best, I can see the mayor may have "suggested" it. Or maybe she just decided to exist stage left to avoid the coming shit show. Not familiar with the internals of Atlanta politics.

Shields was a good police chief, if she is smart it was to avoid the shit show to come. She also still holds a position in the police epartment .

The "person" that set fire to the Wendy's was a white college student.
Yeah, the shooting was just an excuse.
Time to use an axehandle across the nose on these people. Two or three times.

This sh*t has to stop! If it goes on much farther there will be bloodshed, and those of us who remember how revolutions were grown in the 50's see signs that this could escalate into real civil war, which is exactly what these Marxists want. The perfect storm of lockdown, a generation of college minds bent to socialism and ignorance, and blacks who are too ignorant to know the lies they have been led to believe as they see liberal programs that spend 22 trillion dollars end in abysml poverty, social wastelands, ruined families, hopeless young black men taught that racism explains their dismal futures, and a cowardly white middle class terrified and feeling powerless. This is not going to end well, but it needs to end now, by force, before it gets far more tragic and far more bloody. And above all, we must silence and prosecute the organizers and enthusiastic supports of this mess who see national chaos as a tool to limp SloJoe into the White House and power to return to the progressive, socialist agenda. Some are public officials, some are working this from their seats in China and Moscow.
[BREITBART] Police have been unable to respond to “rapes, robberies, and all sorts of violent acts” occurring in Seattle’s East Precinct, which authorities abandoned on Monday, leaving the area in the hands of activists who set up their own police-free “Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone” (CHAZ), Seattle Police Chief Carmen Best said Thursday. [PJMedia] The Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone (CHAZ), the antifa/anarchist movement that illegally seized control of six city blocks in Seattle, Wash., appears to have changed its name after less than a week. Some CHAZzies have already started removing CHAZ signs and replacing them with signs reading the “Capitol Hill Occupied Protest.”
Some have said they are “not seceding from the United States,” despite clear signs of an attempt at secession. They are now insisting that the original CHAZ signs were placed by “detractors.” Color me skeptical. While Mayor Jenny Durkan and Gov. Jay Inslee (D-Wash.) appear utterly feckless and unwilling to act, perhaps President Donald Trump’s warnings that he will restore order have driven the fear of God into these lawless rebels.
“There is a growing consensus to rename the area from the ‘Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone’ to the ‘Capitol Hill Occupied Protest.’ An occupier is trying to remove one of the CHAZ street signs,” Townhall’s Julio Rosas tweeted.
There is a growing consensus to rename the area from the “Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone” to the “Capitol Hill Occupied Protest.” An occupier is trying to remove one of the CHAZ street signs. pic.twitter.com/xgv7oiFsOF
It seems no one is quite sure who exactly is in charge of CHAZ. In a scuffle Friday night involving whether or not to remove the signs reading “Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone,” one woman asked, “Is anyone in charge here?” A man appears to have responded with something like, “This ain’t a damn democracy here!”
A Twitter account claiming to represent the Capitol Hill Occupied Protest gave a rationale for the change from CHAZ to CHOP. “Black Leadership has requested to stop calling it CHAZ as ‘Autonomous’ has specific implications and it is reported that Durkan and the media labeled it as such…Capitol Hill Occupied Protest = #CHOP.”
“That name CHAZ, we didn’t actually come up with. We’re not sure if it was detractors or people who tried to push a false narrative, but they definitely came in with that name, came in with signs, and they had nothing to do with that movement so far,” one black man in the movement said. “The conditions of us making a clear statement that we are CHOP is in order to push the narrative that this is not an autonomous zone. We are not trying to secede from the United States.”
Whatever name CHAZ settles on, its signs reading “You are now leaving the U.S.A.” could not be clearer in stating that the instigators were launching a rebellion. Local residents are insisting that their rights have been violated. Rebels appear to have engaged in a form of taxation without representation, using a shakedown racket to force local businesses to provide supplies. The rapper Raz Simone has reportedly installed himself as warlord because as one rebel of CHAZ put it, “he has all the guns.” Simone is reportedly attempting to enforce borders and prevent people from entering CHAZ without identification, although Simone himself disputes the “warlord” designation.
These are not the actions of a protest — they are the actions of a rogue state.
CHAZ is, to some degree, a rebellion aspiring to be a protest. The rebels seem more intent on changing American society than they are on setting up an autonomous state that will exist in perpetuity, but by declaring themselves outside the purview of the United States they are legally rebels.
In fact, Townhall’s Julio Rosas reported that a packet circulating in CHAZ presented suggestions about the way forward: “Permanently taking over the East Precinct, move the zone to another location, or to dissolve the zone completely.”
CHAZ can’t even decide whether or not it should exist.

☺ Aah. Yes, very beautiful. And way smarter than most actresses, Grom. Smart enough to settle down with a most decent young fellow at least.
Terrible time the poor kid went through before she got married. Pakistani dons and what not. My friend, who retired from the IB in 2009, had something to with bailing her out of it. He even wrote a book. She asked to leave her name out of it.
Here's a laugh riot, which you'll dig. I shook her hand once. All these actresses had come out to tie raakhis on our hands just after the Kargil War. It's a colored string sisters tie on a brother's wrist.
Some men were actually upset they were going to have to play brothers to Ash and Preity and Mahima and what have you. I remember the actual letter to Northern Command brass. It went something like this.
Sir,
The men of XV CORPS are indeed happy to welcome the performers and celebrities for the occasion of Rakshabandhan. This cantonement humbly requests you to reconsider the rakhi tying ceremony though, as it may not be good for the morale of the troops. Operational contingencies enable us to only allow for a brief exchange, and we wish each soldier can interact with the VIPs without taking away from...
Something like that. In fact I helped write the bloody thing. I remember the grunts eventually standing in line, putting their hands out obediently, trying to smile, and swearing to protect their new sisters. Sob.

What a sweet story, Dron. Surely some of the men thought to give their actress a sisterly teddy bear or something to remember him by. Or a challenge coin... Mr. Wife still has the one given to him years ago at the end of a training seminar by one of his fellow students, at the time the officer in charge of Lebanon for (reading from the thing) SOCCENT, US Central Command. It sits on the dresser alongside watches, cufflinks, and the rest of the masculine paraphernalia.
[ABC6] One of the suspects involved in vandalism at the Christopher Columbus statue in Elmwood Avenue is a teacher at Pawtucket Public Schools who is now out on leave pending an investigation, according to the superintendent. Derrick Garforth, 34, was charged with desecration of grave/monument, which is a felony.
Around 1:30 a.m., on Saturday morning detectives noticed a man and woman getting out of a car and running across Elmwood Avenue towards Columbus square. The two began to splatter paint on the boarded up monument, according to police.
Both then fled across Elmwood Avenue towards Lexington Avenue.
Detectives saw both suspects enter the rear lot of the Feinstein School heading towards Ontario St. Detectives quickly drove to Ontario Street and were able to catch up to both suspects as they exited the lot.
Derrick Garforth, 34, and Charlotte Whittingham, 28, were both arrested. Police said Mackenzie Innis, 26, who was driving the car the suspects were in, was arrested also.

Ref #3: That would end most of the BS, if done swiftly, and televised.
[KOMONews] As protesters continue to gather outside of the East Precinct in what’s now being called the "Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone," there’s concern among some who have visited that the message behind Black Lives Matter has been hijacked.
The African American Community Advisory Council, which works with Seattle Police to facilitate discussion with officers and those they serve, came out to "CHAZ" Thursday evening in support of Chief Carmen Best. Multiple women spoke from the group, saying African Americans helped to build the precinct.
"Black lives do matter but there are also black lives that are police lives," one of the woman said at the intersection of 12th and E Pine. "They feel the same way that you do."
Throughout their attempts to convey their opinion to the crowd, they were met with boos and others grabbing microphones, talking over them.
"You guys need to sit down and have a conversation with the Seattle Police Department. They want to talk to you."
Those women also stated that protest’s core belief has been lost.
"The thing is, you have hijacked this! You have taken the meaning away!"
Tempers flared for a few minutes before things came to an end.
"Not everybody is going to have the same opinion!"
KOMO News spoke with the AACAC Chair, Victoria Beach, afterwards.
"We support our chief of police," said Beach. "We feel she’s been thrown under the bus. It was a cowardly move for the mayor to open up that street to all of the mayhem."
Beach compared what she’s seen at "CHAZ" to that of a festival, name dropping Burning Man, rather than a movement aimed for police reform.
"We’re going to keep our voices loud and clear. We’re going to be heard," said Beach. "How are we going to be heard if that’s happening? How are we going to come to the table and talk?"
Not long after they spoke, a rolling garage door at the East Precinct rolled up and nearly two dozen officers on bikes pedaled out. They were met by chants and expletives from protesters. The remaining officers inside eventually closed the door and protesters then went to the corner of 12th and E Pike to setup an enhanced barricade to keep them out.
For much of the night, the entirety of the gathering remained peaceful.
KOMO News reached out to Seattle Police to see why those officers were at the precinct but we have not heard back.

Wait.. the Seattle PD has a way to sneak into the East Precinct without anyone knowing about it?
[ConservativeTreehouse] Things are slowly devolving into violent confrontation in the nation of CHAZ Seattle. However, the violence is not with law enforcement; the violence is internal as Antifa factions within the occupy movement begin doing what they are famous for, being violent.
An openly christian man walks into the occupied zone within Seattle, the Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone or CHAZ, to share the message of Jesus Christ. The Antifa elements immediately confronted the man, threw him to the ground and began choking him.
The Christian Preacher professed his own humanity and proclaimed he was a "free man", but the rulers within the CHAZ community would not accept his cries for freedom.
The Chazukstan mob surround the preacher, shouting at him, berating him, and eventually trying to beat him into submission. At one point they sat atop the preacher in the same choking position that killed George Floyd. No-one noticed the irony.
Key bits. More links, quotes, and tweets at the link. Just click on the headline and enjoy.
[PJMedia] The Department of Justice has filed what looks to be the first tranche of charges against violent antifa protesters from coast-to-coast following weeks of rioting following the killing of George Floyd by police. As Antifa itself would say, “it’s going down.”
From La Mesa, Calif., Minneapolis, Austin, and Dallas to Baton Rouge, Philly, St. Paul, and Tacoma, Wash., more than 50 people have been indicted on various charges.
“The #FirstAmendment does not permit people to use a protest as cover to commit arson, destroy property or incite violence. Any protestors who cross this line should know that we will use every tool at our disposal to find you and prosecute you.” @USAttyBradyhttps://t.co/BemGXgxIXa
Conspicuously absent in this wave of indictments is anyone from Portland, Ore., arguably the area most seeded with members of the group designated as domestic terrorists by the Trump Administration. Rioters there attacked the Justice Center. They were back Saturday night to finish the job.
No one from Seattle’s black bloc-outfitted terrorists or the Republic of CHAZ was named in these indictments, either.

About 3 and a half years late. What did you do to all the rioters at the Inauguration in 2017? Charged them and then released them. That certainly taught them. One of the reasons you send people up to the big house is 'pour les encourager les autres'. Now we inherit the consequences of your failure.

Also, it's not clear to me that anyone actually in Auntie Fay was indicted, so the headline seems misleading.
[NYPOST] A protester in the police-free district set up by demonstrators in Seattle demanded that white demonstrators fork over $10 to their black counterparts.
A video, uploaded to Twitter Saturday, shows a man inside the city’s Capital Hill Autonomous Zone, or CHAZ, urging protesters to donate the cash.
"I want you to find by the time you leave this autonomous zone, I want you to ... to give $10 to one African American person from this autonomous zone," said the unidentified protestor speaking to dozens inside the area near the city’s East Precinct that was abandoned by police last week following two weeks of festivities after the death of George Floyd in police custody in Minneapolis last month.
"If you have a hard time giving $10 you got to think are you really down with this struggle, are you really down with the movement," he said. "If that is a challenge for you, I’m not sure you are in the right place."
The demand was met with cheers and applause from a crowd that had gathered at what appeared to be a baseball field.

[DAILYTIMES.PK] Indian troops in their fresh acts of state terrorism ... any action taken by a non-Moslem state that constrains the violent impulses of Moslems or their allies ... on Saturday martyred four more youth in occupied Kashmir ...a disputed territory lying between India and Pakistain. After partition, the Paks grabbed half of it and call it Azad (Free) Kashmir. The remainder they refer to as "Indian Occupied Kashmir". They have fought four wars with India over it, the score currently 4-0 in New Delhi's favor. After 72 years of this nonsense, India cut the Gordian knot in 2019, removing the area's special status, breaking off Ladakh as a separate state, and allowing people from other areas to settle (or in the case of the Pandits, to resettle) there.... The troops martyred two youth each in South Kashmir’s Kulgam and during cordon and search operations. Indian police and troops sealed all entry and exit points of the areas and conducted an operation in the area. The authorities also suspended internet service in the districts.
There have been protests demonstrations in the restive region as Indian troops continued acts of state terrorism and have martyred 23 Kashmiri youth, including young boys, during cordon and search operations since June 1.
Indian police and troops have sealed all entry and exit points of the areas.
The occupation authorities have suspended internet service in the districts.

[ALMASDARNEWS] A Syrian Arab Army (SAA) scout unit monitored the movements of a group of jihadists moving towards the front-lines in southern Idlib last night, resulting in a powerful attack by the military.
According to a field report from Idlib, the Syrian Arab Army witnessed around midnight, a number of jihadists from the Hurras al-Deen group gathering along the front-lines in al-Bara, as they prepared to launch a new attack on the military’s positions in the Jabal al-Zawiya region.
However, the man who has no enemies isn't anybody and has never done anything... before they could launch this attack, the Syrian Arab Army unleashed a heavy attack on the jihadists, killing and wounding several of these murderous Moslems.
The report said the jihadists quickly dispersed after this attack and were forced to abandon their planned raid on the Syrian Arab Army’s positions near the town of Kafr Nabl.
A source said recently that the Syrian Army units operating on the axes of Sahl al-Ghab and the Idlib countryside are in full readiness in anticipation of any emergency that these fronts may witness.
