[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] ...because they want to protect their PRIVACY after 1,000 inmates were freed from Cook County jail to stop the spread of coronavirus.
NEW YORK (AP) — Democratic lawmakers on Tuesday introduced legislation to compel federal health officials to post data daily that breaks down COVID-19 cases and deaths by race and ethnicity.
The lawmakers say the demographic data is needed to address any disparities in the national response to the coronavirus outbreak, which is taking a disproportionate toll on African Americans and other nonwhite populations.
"Because of government-sponsored discrimination and systemic racism, communities of color are on the frontlines of this pandemic," Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren, one of several sponsors of the legislation in the Senate, said in a statement. "To effectively slow the spread of the virus and ensure our response is robust and equitable, we need comprehensive national data on who is getting infected, who is getting treatment, and who is dying."
The latest Associated Press analysis of available state and local data shows that more than 30% of those who have died from COVID-19 are African American, although blacks make up roughly 13% of the population in the areas covered in the analysis.
The Democratic lawmakers sent a letter March 28 to Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar urging federal release of the demographic data. The data has not been released.
If passed, the legislation introduced in the House and Senate on Tuesday would require HHS to collect data on race, ethnicity, sex, age and socioeconomic status, among other demographic information on those tested and treated for COVID-19. The information would be posted to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention website.

^Well, if acknowledging genetic differences between human populations is the biggest, blackest sin in your faith system - you have to invoke structural racism to explain the differences in outcomes among these populations.

[RCI] Ever since a "senior official in the Trump administration" penned an anonymous 2018 New York Times column attacking President Trump as unfit for office, Washington has been engrossed in a high-stakes whodunit. After an exhaustive investigation, the White House believes it’s cracked the case, identifying Trump's turncoat as his former deputy national security adviser, Victoria Coates, according to people familiar with the internal probe.
Rather than fire Coates, the White House has quietly transferred her to the Department of Energy, where she awaits special assignment in Saudi Arabia -- far from the president.
Trump effectively demoted Coates just four months after promoting her last fall to the No. 2 spot on his National Security Council. The move was made amid a whisper campaign, started in January, that identified Coates as "Anonymous," the person who wrote the Times Op-Ed and a subsequent book, "A Warning," claiming to be part of a cabal of "fellow Republicans" resisting Trump and his policies from inside the administration.
The Washington press corps has for the most part been uninterested in learning the author’s identity. But the sources said the identification of Coates was based on circumstantial evidence generated from a months-long White House investigation led by sleuths within the NSC. Top White House adviser Peter Navarro, who works with the NSC on trade and other issues, also was heavily involved in the probe of Coates.
She declined to discuss the matter on the record with RealClearInvestigations and has retained an attorney, friends say, although several colleagues have rushed to her defense, insisting the White House has the wrong person. But a source involved in the NSC probe who asked not to be identified said there was little doubt. "It’s her," the source said of Coates. "That’s why she was shown the door."

Cruz needs to have a special meeting with DJT as he was a major patron of this creature. Also time for K. T. McFarland to be completely scrubbed of any remaining clearances.
[Washington Examiner, via Bongino] Those receiving coronavirus relief checks will now reportedly see the words, "President Donald J. Trump" printed on their checks. This may not be his smartest play, unless his intent is to troll the media.
The Treasury Department finalized the decision late Monday, with some senior officials who cannot be named because they'd be identified as leakers saying that the move may slow delivery of the checks, the Washington Post reported Tuesday. It will be the first time that a president's name has appeared on an IRS disbursement.
The coronavirus relief payments started landing in bank accounts last week and will continue to be directly deposited this week. The addition of the president's name only affects the approximately 70 million who will receive physical checks in the mail.
Despite some officials saying that there might be a delay in when the checks arrive, a Treasury Department spokeswoman said the plan is proceeding as scheduled. "Economic Impact Payment checks are scheduled to go out on time and exactly as planned ‐ there is absolutely no delay whatsoever," she said.

I like the story about the guy who got his stimulus check and found his bank account $8 mil richer instead of only $1200 (He couldn't keep it).

Definitely a bit tacky (imagine if Obama had done such a thing). But, you know what? So, what?! TDS is already red-lined. What President Trump does or doesn't do makes little to no difference to the TDS'ers. But, by golly, you know his name on the checks is driving them bat-egesta crazy!

No doubt. All of the proceeds from her legislation went to her hubby. And I'm sure she still has a little stash from her daddy's mob connections in Baltimore.
This Deep state POS is sooo dirty
[Propublica] The chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, Richard Burr, has come under fire in recent weeks for unloading stock holdings right before the market crashed on fears of coronavirus and for a timely sale of shares in an obscure Dutch fertilizer company.
Now the North Carolina Republican's 2017 sale of his Washington, D.C., home to a group led by a donor and powerful lobbyist who had business before Burr's committee is raising additional ethical questions.
Burr sold the small townhouse, in the Capitol Hill neighborhood, for what, by some estimates, was an above market price ‐ $900,000 ‐ to a team led by lobbyist John Green. That is tens of thousands of dollars above some estimates of the property's value by tax assessors, a real estate website and a local real estate agent. The sale was done off-market, without the home being listed for sale publicly.
Green is a longtime donor to Burr's political campaigns and has co-hosted at least one fundraiser for him. In 2017, the year of the sale, Green lobbied on behalf of a stream of clients with business before Burr's committees.

I'm inclined to think that Green (the lobbyist) would get the house at a discount, as a 'reward' for all those years of soft bribes donations. Looks like this one went into Burr's pocket directly. He really is a piece of shit.

If you live in flyover country, $900,000 might sound like a lot of money. Dunno about real estate in DC but in San Diego it sounds like a paltry sum for a townhouse. I can imagine folks in San Francisco or Manhattan thinking it must be a cracker box located in a slum.

[PBS] - Republican lawmakers in Kentucky swept aside the Democratic governor’s veto of a bill to require the state’s residents to show a government-issued photo ID in order to vote.
Votes to override Gov. Andy Beshear’s veto easily cleared the GOP-led Senate and House as lawmakers reconvened Tuesday for a wrap-up session amid the coronavirus outbreak.
The American Civil Liberties Union of Kentucky promptly said it will consider filing legal action to try to halt the measure.
The measure would require Kentucky residents to produce a photo ID when voting, with limited exceptions, starting with the November election. Depriving dead Americans of their right to vote?

People in the U.S. have to show ID for nearly everything else and there's been little pushback from the Dems and the American Civil Liberties Union. Dems don't mind trying to make you wear some identification about being positive or negative for the coronavirus.
The conclusion: These groups don't like the doors being closed on the opportunities for election rigging and voter fraud.

That has always been a key plank in the Democrat Party platform.

In Oklahoma you need a photo ID to buy over-the-counter antihistamines because of meth makers... Cash a check. Buy beer. Color me unimpressed by their rhetoric.
[AtlantaJournalConstitution] State Rep. Vernon Jones bucked his party Tuesday and endorsed President Donald Trump, making him the first state elected Democratic official in Georgia to back the Republican’s bid for a second term.
The lawmaker drew a backlash from Democrats who accused him of betrayal at a time when state and national figures were rallying around former Vice President Joe Biden. Top House Democrats responded by endorsing Jones’ primary challenger, while others cast him as a narcissist.
Long a polarizing figure in Georgia politics, Jones told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution that he views Trump as a transformative president whose policies have helped African American voters, military veterans and farmers.
“It’s very simple to me. President Trump’s handling of the economy, his support for historically black colleges and his criminal justice initiatives drew me to endorse his campaign,” said Jones, who added that he had no immediate plans to switch parties.

Lately it seems like even Cuomo and Newsom have been toning it down. Maybe they figure the Orange Man is gonna be around for another four years and they want those federal goodies to keep coming.

..not to mention Trunk control of the House and Senate.
Listen to Baltimore Sun media reporter David Zurawik [Washington Examiner] "Health workers are risking their lives daily. And to see him come out there and for 90 minutes, and two hours, sometimes, doing exactly what you said — he’s spinning a narrative. And the narrative is, ’I didn’t do anything wrong. I was ahead of everybody. I was great! The federal government’s doing great work.’ And it’s an outrageous lie. But what’s worse is every minute he spends doing that, he is not getting respirators to hospitals, he’s not helping the states out with the kind of PPEs they need. People are dying because of his foolishness. It’s really foolishness at this point.
"You know, America — you know, folks who loved him, fine. You voted for him. You stuck it to the elites for three years. But now your loved ones can die. The game’s over. This isn’t reality TV anymore. People are dying and this guy is acting a fool." Sad thing is, I suspect my kids believe this loon, along with the rest of the media.

They can't stand that Trump is on the job, looking presidential, while Slow Joe is holed up in his basement stammering and still trying to figure out how to do live streaming.
I'd tell Mr. Zurawik that, if he feels so bad about it, he could go to work in a mask factory himself but he's never held a real job so he'd probably screw it up.

[BREITBART] Michigan citizens have been flooding a petition at Change.org calling for the removal of Governor Gretchen Whitmer, accusing her of gross negligence and failures in handling the coronavirus (aka COVID19 or Chinese Plague) ...the twenty first century equivalent of bubonic plague, only instead of killing off a third of the population of Europe it kills 3.4 percent of those who notice they have it. It seems to be fond of the elderly, especially Iranian politicians and holy men... pandemic.
The "Recall Governor Whitmer" petition alleges the governor’s measures, such as "closing and banning various non essential business’s [sic] and activities while leaving others open," are actually "causing more Michiganders to get sick."
Launched three weeks ago by John Powell, the petition has picked up steam in past days following the governor’s extension of a stay-at-home order and raising penalties for non-compliance to a $1,000 fine and/or six months in jail.
In just the 24-hour period between Monday and Tuesday, the petition garnered more than 50,000 new signatures as citizens rush to express their displeasure with the governor, bringing the total number of signatories past the 200,000 mark.
Along with an extension on the statewide lockdown, Whitmer issued new restrictions on stores limiting the number of people in the store at one time to no more than four customers for every 1,000 square feet of customer floor space. Stores must also cordon off areas dedicated to carpeting, flooring, furniture, garden centers, plant nurseries, or paint.
Commenters wondered aloud what possible health concern could motivate the governor to keep people from planting seeds or repainting parts of their homes.

[THEGATEWAYPUNDIT] Joe Foreign Policy Whiz Kid Biden ...The former Senator-for-Life from Delaware, an example of the kind of top-notch Washington intellect to be found in the World's Greatest Deliberative Body... on Monday said he if he were to win the White House, his administration would "finally achieve general amnesty."
Because after nearly 50 years in government, including 8 years as US Vice President, Biden just hasn’t had enough to achieve anything.
"We’re finally gonna achieve general amnesty as well, putting millions of citizens on a pathway to citizenship," said Biden.

I believe Trumps recent comments regarding Obama not supporting Biden and such were intended to bring Democrats behind this terrible candidate rather than replacing him at their convention.

My gawwwwd, talk of Stacey Abrams being Biden's running mate. LOL. Yeah, the Dems are throwing in the towel (if Joey makes it that far in the process).
[CNSNEWS] Gov. Ralph Coonman Northam ...Governor of Virginia, another Dem Great White Hope. He has a fondness for wearing blackface. He won election by calling his Publican opponent Ed Gillespie a racist, but then, don't they all?... of Virginia, a Democrat, signed a law on Good Friday prohibiting "all places or businesses offering or holding out to the general public goods, services, privileges, facilities, advantages, or accommodations" from denying access to those things to people 18 years and older based on what the law calls "gender identity."
The law goes on to define "gender identity" as follows: "The term ’gender identity,’ when used in reference to discrimination in the Code and acts of the General Assembly, means the gender-related identity, appearance, or other gender-related characteristics of an individual with or without regard to the individual’s designated sex at birth."
In effect, the new law that Northam signed prohibits businesses and other private organizations from denying the use of their ladies’ rooms—or locker rooms, or dressing rooms--to adult biological males.
The law includes a narrow exemption for "religious organizations" that are "not in fact open to the public."
The exemption says: "The provisions of this section shall not apply to a private club, a place of accommodation owned by or operated on behalf of a religious corporation, association, or society that is not in fact open to the public, or any other establishment that is not in fact open to the public."
