Afghanistan
83 Afghan Civilians Killed Since US-Taliban Deal: Watchdog
[ToloNews] The Afghan government and the Afghanistan Independent Human Rights Commission (AIHRC) on Tuesday raised serious concerns over what they described as a significant surge in the number of Taliban
...mindless ferocity in a turban...
attacks in the country, even after the group signed a peace agreement with the United States on February 29 in Doha.

According to AIHRC, at least 83 Afghan non-combatants were killed, 35 civilians were taken hostage and 119 others were maimed in different parts of the country following the US-Taliban peace agreement.

The human rights
...which often include carefully measured allowances of freedom at the convenience of the state...
commission holds the Taliban responsible for 50 percent of the civilian casualties.

The AIHRC blamed other holy warrior groups such as ISIS for the remaining 50 percent of casualties.

"83 were killed and 119 others were maimed--there were eight women and eight children among those killed. There were another 15 women and 16 children maimed during the violence, and another 35 people taken hostage by the Taliban during this period," said Naeem Nazari, the deputy head of the AIHRC.

The human rights commission holds the Taliban responsible for 50 percent of the civilian casualties, blaming other insurgent groups such as Daesh for the remaining 50 percent of casualties.
"The government of the Islamic Theocratic Republic of Afghanistan made extensive efforts for peace, but the Taliban instead increased violence against the Afghan people. The Taliban need to stop killing Afghans to have a successful grinding of the peace processor and they need to agree on a lasting and nationwide ceasefire," said Jawed Faisal, a front man for the Office of National Security Council.

But the Taliban in response to these allegations said that the group had no agreement with the government in Kabul about the reduction in violence. The Taliban have in the past said that they will discuss the issue of reducing violence in the intra-Afghan talks.

"We have no agreement with the (Afghan government) about halting our operations, and also this issue has not been discussed in the peace agreement with the Americans (US-Taliban peace agreement), we do not have any commitment with anyone about reducing the operations and this issue will be discussed in the intra-Afghan talks," said Taliban’s front man Zabihullah Mujahid.

On the US-Taliban deal, the Taliban’s front man Zabihullah Mujahid said: "We have not done anything against the provisions of the agreement (US-Taliban agreement), no attack has been launched against the peace agreement. We are undertaking efforts for talks to reach peace, we have reduced our attacks from 100 percent to 40 percent which demonstrates our desire for peace."

TOLOnews findings show that the Taliban has carried out 2,162 attacks against government forces following the one-week reduction in violence (RIV) that started on February 22 and led to the signing of a peace agreement between the US and the Taliban.

The findings show that the Afghan forces — who now claim to be in an active but defensive mode against the Taliban — have conducted 302 operations in response to the Taliban during this period — March 3 to April 7.

29 Taliban militants killed, wounded in separate incidents in Badghis province
[KhaamaPress] At least 29 Talibs were killed or maimed in separate incidents in the North-western Badghis province of Afghanistan, the Ministry of Defense (MoD) said.

According to a statement released by MoD, the security forces conducted an operation against the Talibs who had blocked the Qads-Qala-e Naw highway.

The statement further added that the security forces killed 7 Talibs and maimed 11 others during the operation.

In a separate incident, at least 5 Talibs were killed and 6 others were maimed after an improvised bomb went off prematurely in this province, the defense ministry added.

The Taliban

Egyptian police kill 7 terrorists in raid in Cairo’s El-Amiriya ahead of Easter
[AlAhram] Egyptian security forces killed seven murderous Moslems in a raid on a hideout in El-Amiriya neighbourhood in eastern Cairo on Tuesday evening.

The cell was planning to carry out terrorist operations during the Easter holiday, according to a statement by the interior ministry on Tuesday.

"The National Security Agency received information about a terrorist cell using shelters in east and south Cairo to launch terrorist operations in conjunction with the Easter holidays," the ministry said.

Police found six automatic rifles, four cartridge weapons and a large amount of ammunition in the terrorists’ possession.

A police officer from the National Security Agency was killed during the raid, while one other officer and two security personnel were maimed, the ministry added.

Police forces also raided a warehouse in El-Matariya neighbourhood where the terrorist cell had hid its weapons and explosives, and they found a number of automatic rifles and some ammunition.

Egyptian television displayed footage of the shooting during the hours-long operation in El-Amiriya.

The neighbourhood was in complete darkness during the operation, in what appeared to be a power cut.

The neighbourhood, like all of Egypt, is under a night-time curfew that begins at 8pm and lifts at 6am.

The prosecutor-general has ordered an urgent investigation into the incident, and an inspection team from the state security prosecution office was dispatched to the scene.

The cabinet issued a statement on Tuesday mourning the death of Lieutenant-colonel Mohammed El-Houfy, the officer who was killed during the incident.

The cabinet also conveyed their condolences to the family of the dear departed and to the interior ministry, and wished those injured a speedy recovery.

Sarraj Welcomes the ‘Liberation’ of Sabratha and Surman
[ALMARSAD.CO] On Monday the President of the Presidential Council, Fayez al-Sarraj, blessed the victories of his militias in Surman, Sabratha, and the regions of the West Coast. They had taken over the Criminal Investigation Service, Western Branch, and the Army Room, or what was known as the Anti-ISIS Operations Room, which Sarraj himself established and promoted its commander, Brigadier Omar Abdul-Jalil on 17 February 2018, for his efforts against the "gangs". Ironically enough, these same "gangs" are today announced as "liberators" by Sarraj.

Germany Arrests 4 Islamic State Suspects Planning Attack on US Bases
[Military.com] German authorities say police have arrested four suspected members of the Islamic State group alleged to be planning an attack on American military facilities.

Federal prosecutors said the suspects were arrested by tactical police units early Wednesday at various locations in the western state of North Rhine-Westphalia.

They identified the men as Azizjon B., Muhammadali G., Farhodshoh K. and Sunatullokh K. -- all citizens of Tajikistan. The suspects' surnames weren't released for privacy reasons.

The men's alleged leader, a 30-year-old Tajik man identified only as Ravsan B., has been in jail since March 2019 on unspecified charges.

All suspects will be charged with membership in a terrorist organization.

Prosecutors said the men joined ISIS in January 2019 and were instructed to form a cell in Germany. They reportedly first planned to carry out an attack in Tajikistan but later shifted their target to Germany, including U.S. Air Force bases in the country and a person they deemed critical of Islam.

Throughout, they are alleged to have been in contact with two high-ranking ISIS figures in Syria and Afghanistan.

Prosecutors said the group had already obtained firearms and ammunition to carry out their attacks, while Ravsan B. had ordered materials to build an explosive device.

In order to pay for their plans, Ravsan B. allegedly accepted a $40,000 contract to assassinate someone in Albania, but the contract slaying failed.

Man Indicted in Switzerland for Plotting Attacks in Lebanon
[AnNahar] An Iraqi citizen suspected of being a "high-ranking" member of the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
group has been indicted for allegedly violating a Swiss ban on murderous Moslem groups and accused of plotting attacks in Switzerland
...home of the Helvetians, famous for cheese, watches, yodeling, and William Tell...
and Leb
...an Iranian colony situated on the eastern Mediterranean, conveniently adjacent to Israel. Formerly inhabited by hardy Phoenecian traders, its official language is now Arabic, with the usual unpleasant side effects. The Leb civil war, between 1975 and 1990, lasted a little over 145 years and produced 120,000 fatalities. The average length of a ceasefire was measured in seconds. The Lebs maintain a precarious sectarian balance among Shiites, Sunnis, and about a dozeen flavors of Christians. It is the home of Hezbollah, which periodically starts a war with the Zionist Entity, gets Beirut pounded to rubble, and then declares victory and has a parade. The Lebs have the curious habit of periodically murdering their heads of state or prime ministers...
, federal prosecutors said Tuesday.

The Swiss attorney general's office said the suspect allegedly served as a recruiter, trafficker and "cash-provider" for IS. It did not name him, but said he has been in jug since his arrest in May 2017.

The man is accused of attempting to incite a fellow IS member the month before to carry out a suicide kaboom in Lebanon that "was prevented in time," the attorney general's office said.

He also allegedly received instructions to carry out an attack in Switzerland, sent financial support to the Islamic State group, and "instructed an IS member living in Syria to set up IS sleeper cells," the attorney general's office said. An attack in Switzerland was never imminent, the office said.

The indictment charges him with violating the ban on murderous Moslem groups, membership in IS as a criminal enterprise, and producing and stockpiling images of violent acts.

Prosecutors further accused the indicted man of providing false information about his financial situation more than a dozen times, enabling him to receive social assistance benefits in Switzerland "to which he was not entitled," the office said.

Switzerland largely avoided the wave of deadly terror attacks that targeted cities in Europa
...the land mass occupying the space between the English Channel and the Urals, also known as Moslem Lebensraum...
and the Middle East in the last decade. Federal police have broadened their authority to monitor communications and potential suspects for possible threats.

An alleged Israeli aircraft struck a vehicle on Lebanon's border with Syria, reports from Lebanon said Wednesday afternoon.

According to reports, the strike by an unmanned combat aircraft targeted a Jeep Cherokee traveling from Syria into Lebanon despite the border between the two countries being closed both ways except for trade since mid-March due to the continued spread of the deadly coronavirus.
