[KhaamaPress] The Afghan forces killed 9 Talibs by conducting preemptive strikes in northern Balkh province of Afghanistan, the Afghan military said.
The 209th Shaheen Corps in a statement said a group of Talibs were looking to carry out attacks against the Afghan forces in Temorak Village of Chahar Bolak district.
The statement further added that the Afghan force conducted preemptive strikes with the support of the Air forces, killing at least 9 Talibs.
The security forces also maimed 5 other Talibs during the same operation, the 209th Shaheen Corps added.
The Taliban ...Arabic for students... group has not commented in this regard so far.

The Special Operations Corps in a statement said the Talibs attacked the security posts in Greshk district of Helmand on Saturday.
The statement further added that the security forces responded to the attack while reacting in self-defense, killing 3 forces of Evil and wounding 5 others.
The security forces also arrested a Taliban murderous Moslem and confiscated a cycle of violence following the clash, the Special Operations Corps added.
The Taliban group has not commented in this regard so far.
[ToloNews] TOLOnews findings show that the Taliban ...mindless ferocity in a turban... has carried out 2,162 attacks against government forces following the one-week reduction in violence (RIV) that started on February 22 and led to the signing of a peace agreement between the US and the Taliban.
The findings show that the Afghan forces — who now claim to be in an active but defensive mode against the Taliban — have conducted 302 operations in response to the Taliban during this period — March 3 to April 7.
Before the RIV week, the Taliban conducted over 70 attacks a day, according to sources, while TOLOnews findings show that during the reduction in violence period, the security incidents dropped to as low as 12 to 15 per day. But the findings also show that after the RIV period, the Taliban conducted 31 to 96 attacks on Afghan forces per day while government forces responded with between 1 to 17 operations a day.
"They (the Taliban) do not have full control over their fighters for two reasons: First, some of their fighters are foreign nationals, and, second, they are faced with an internal rift," said Zahir Azimi, a retired Army general.
TOLOnews findings show that the Taliban conducted 195 attacks on an Afghan forces outpost and their convoys from February 22 to March 11, a time period that includes the reduction in violence week and another 10 days in which the group pledged to keep its attacks low. During this period, the group conducted 11 to 27 attacks on Afghan forces in a day.
During the RIV week, Afghan forces conducted 74 attacks — 1 to 20 attacks a day, the findings show.
The findings also reveal that the Taliban conducted 45 attacks on the first day after the end of the RIV week — on March 1 — a day after the signing of the US-Taliban agreement.
"Taliban attacks have dramatically increased after the reduction in violence week, and it still continues," Defense Ministry front man Fawad Aman said. "The security and defense forces thwarted Taliban attacks within the framework of the defensive status," said Aman.
The Taliban has said that some of their attacks in some provinces have been in response to night raids and operations by Afghan forces.
Analysts question the independence of the Taliban’s leadership to make own their decisions, and they also doubt their control over their fighters on the battlefields
"They (the Taliban) are not independent in their decisions," said Mirza Mohammad Yarmand, former deputy minister of interior affairs, who called the US-Taliban agreement incomplete.
"They (the Taliban) do not have full control over their fighters for two reasons: First, some of their fighters are foreign nationals, and, second, they are faced with an internal rift," said Zahir Azimi, a retired Army general.
Then there is no point in negotiating peace with them. Even if they intended to abide by anything they signed, their people can be trusted to break it.

This week the government closed ports to charity boats for the entire duration of the national health emergency over the coronavirus, a ban due to remain in effect until July 31.
The transport ministry statement said allowing the migrants colonists to disembark would put too much pressure on already stretched health services in Sicily. It gave no details on the planned transfer, its timing or location.

(ISIS) turbans killed an Iraqi federal police officer at a checkpoint in Hawija, western Kirkuk late on Sunday, according to defense officials.
The unnamed officer was killed by an ISIS sniper at a checkpoint in Mansourieh al-Jabal, 45 km west of Kirkuk city.
"A member of the Iraqi federal police was martyred after the snipers of ISIS terrorist gangs shot up one of the checkpoints belonging to the first regiment of the 12th brigade in the third division of the Federal Police in the Mansourieh al-Jabal region in the Hawija district of the Kirkuk province," the Iraqi Security Media Cell said in a tweet.
This is the third deadly attack on Iraqi and Kurdish security forces in the disputed territories in the past week, indicating a rise in ISIS activity.
Two Peshmerga fighters were killed and another maimed in an ISIS attack on Kolajo on Tuesday night.
The turbans launched another strike on Thursday, killing two Hashd al-Shaabi fighters near al-Sadeq (Haliwa) military airport in Tuz Khurmatu.
Iraq’s disputed territories, which Erbil and Baghdad have long contested, and some western Sunni-majority regions including Anbar, have seen a recent uptick in bad boy activities, including bombings, ambushes, kidnappings, extortion, and arson.
Jabar Yawar, chief of staff at the Ministry of Peshmerga Affairs, says the ISIS resurgence has been underway for some time.
"According to our data, the group increased its activities in 2018 and 2019, especially in Kurdistani areas outside of the Kurdistan Region administration, including Diyala, Hamrin, Kirkuk, ... a thick stew of Arabs, Turkmen, Kurds, and probably Antarcticans, all of them mutually hostile most of the time... Tuz Khurmatu, and Qarachogh. In Qarachogh, they even established bases," Yawar told Rudew on Thursday.

It's well past time to use ARCLIGHT as a weapon of "mass persuasion" against these groups. Maybe start with the Baghdad government. I'm sure intel can find a decent target. Needs to be massive -- about a dozen aircraft, either B-52s or B-1s, even a mix of the two. They don't respect us. It's time they learned to fear us.

The Iraqi Security Media Cell announced on Monday, the liquidation of a number of ISIS militants in a violent clash in the northern part of the Kirkuk Governorate.
They said in a statement, “The security forces, within the advanced headquarters of the Joint Operations Command in Kirkuk Governorate, were able to destroy a terrorist den, including a number of the organization’s elements in Wadi al-Shay.”
The statement added: “A joint force with air support began to besiege Al-Wakr and engage the elements inside it and killed a number of them.”
According to one source, the Iraqi security forces managed to kill seven Islamic State terrorist during the brief operation on Monday.
On Sunday, an affiliate of the Federal Police was killed and two others were wounded, after an ISIS attack on the Mansuriyah village, south of Kirkuk.

[IsraelTimes] A soldier was lightly injured Monday after he was attacked by a man who broke into an army base in southern Israel, the military said.
According to an army spokesperson, the soldier and his partner were patrolling when they spotted the suspect inside their base. They attempted to arrest the man, but he struck out at them, cutting the soldier’s arm lightly, and then ran back out of the base.
The Israel Defense Forces and police launched a manhunt for the suspect and an investigation into the incident, the army said.
The injured soldier received medical treatment at the scene, the spokesperson said.
The military said it was not yet clear why the man attempted to sneak into the base, though it appeared to have been an attempted robbery.
Military bases, particularly those in the deserts of southern Israel, are frequently robbed — of equipment and weapons — by criminals from nearby Bedouin communities.
Israel Fires Flare Bombs over Shebaa Outskirts
[AnNahar] The Israeli army launched eight photoflash bombs overnight over al-Shahal area on the outskirts of the town of Shebaa in the district of Hasbaya, the National News Agency reported on Monday.
Moreover, an Israeli spy plane conducted intensive overflights over Beirut and its southern suburbs all day on Sunday, NNA said.
The agency said the overflights have recurred much in the past days.
