More than 600 police departments are said to be using the Clearview AI app
The app reportedly uses facial recognition AI to match uploaded photos to the three billion images it has in its database
The database contains images gathered from all over the internet and can include identifying details, such as names and addresses
Police have said that they were able to solve cases by using Clearview AI
Clearview AI is currently available only to law enforcement agencies and is said to be used by local police departments and is being tested by the FBI and Department of Homeland Security

Looks like a good reason to start painting your face like a Juggalo.
One of the items on my Interesting Things to Mess With list is the use of old-skool dazzle camouflage for disrupting facial recognition algorithms. Maybe I need to bump it up higher...

Together providing an alternative to Pakistan, and one that America can better influence, per Dron66046. Especially after the Mullahcracy collapses.
[KhaamaPress] Mohammad Javad Zarif, Iran’s Foreign Minister on Friday, said India and Iran ...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan, the abbreviation IRGC is a cognate form of Stürmabteilung (or SA), the term Supreme Guide is a cognate form of either Shah or Führer or maybe both, and they hate JewsZionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol... need to work together to accelerate rail connectivity to Afghanistan and the procurement of equipment for the development of Chabahar Port. He added that India’s good relations with Iran, Afghanistan, and the US could play a promising role in bringing sustainable stability and economic and trade connectivity in the region.
Following Afghanistan’s efforts to find out alternative trade routes to access global markets other than Bloody Karachi ...formerly the capital of Pakistain, now merely its most important port and financial center. It is among the largest cities in the world, with a population of 18 million, most of whom hate each other and many of whom are armed and dangerous... Port, Chabahar Port was considered a suitable option, and the port is considered significantly crucial for Afghanistan and Central Asia. Fortunately, enough, Iran’s parliament recently approved the expansion of the free zone, which can further regional trade among countries.
"One of the problems in the progress of the Chabahar Port project is that India has found difficulty in procuring the necessary equipment for the port despite the exemption." Said Zarif.
"Connecting Chabahar to Afghanistan and Central Asia through rail is another issue. To complete the Chabahar-Zahedan rail network, Iran needs more rails for which we will negotiate with India to provide us rails. Therefore, by cooperating, Iran and India can procure the equipment for the port and finishing the rail link," Zarif added.
According to economic experts, the completion of Chabahar Port will play a significant role in trade connectivity between India and Afghanistan as well as the wider region.
Due to the deteriorating relations between Iran and the US, only a part of the project has been implemented thus far. The re-imposition of economic sanctions on Iran by the US in 2018 further escalated the situation, and the project progress is getting delayed.

[AnNahar] Human Rights Watch on Friday accused Morocco of holding a dual Belgian-Moroccan citizen in "inhuman" and "abusive solitary detention" for more than three years following his 2009 life sentence on terrorism charges.
Abdelkader Belliraj
...age 60, and member of the Algerian jihadi group Salafist Group for Preaching and Combat (GSPC) since at least the 1980s, for which he murdered six Jews and an imam in Belgium. GSPC pledged to Al Qaeda in 2007, while Mr. Belliraj rose to lead a 35-man cell, which plotted assassinations of senior officials and strikes against Jewish targets in Morocco while merrily robbing in Europe. Mr. Belliraj was granted Belgian citizenship in 2000, the same year the blissfully unaware Belgian intelligence service recruited him as a paid informant...
was the alleged criminal mastermind of a terrorist network of 35 people dismantled by Moroccan authorities in 2008, and was convicted in a trial criticized for rights violations.
His wife told Human Rights Watch (HRW) that since 2016 Belliraj had been confined to a cell for 23 hours a day and deprived of contact with other inmates, which the watchdog said would contravene United Nations ...where theory meets practice and practice loses... standards on the treatment of prisoners.
Moroccan prison authorities did not respond to AFP's request for comment.
The New York-based rights group said it contacted Morocco's Inter-Ministerial Delegation for Human Rights in November but received no substantive response from it or prison authorities.
Belliraj, whose sentence was confirmed on appeal in 2010, was also accused of committing six murders in Belgium in the 1980s and 1990s, which he denied. His wife Rachida Hatti lives in Belgium and is allowed to speak to him regularly on the phone.
He was arrested in February 2008 with a number of other people, allegedly in possession of a large arsenal of firearms.
Despite protestations of innocence, Belliraj was convicted in a mass trial alongside 34 co-accused, among them politicians of moderate Islamist parties.
Some of their sentences were later reduced on appeal and eight -- including six moderate Islamists -- were later pardoned by the king.
HRW said eight of the convicted men are still serving their sentences.
The 2009 trial was criticized for violating the rights of the accused. According to HRW, Belliraj's conviction was based on confessions which he and his co-defendants said were obtained under torture.
"It is bad enough when a man gets a life sentence as the result of a miscarriage of justice, but keeping him in inhuman prison conditions for years is like twisting the knife," said HRW's acting Middle East and North Africa director Eric Goldstein.
"Belliraj and all prisoners in Morocco should be treated humanely, and that includes having daily contact with other human beings."

By the headline, I thought this post may have been about "The Meg" and Prince Harry.
Either way, like he blue-highlighted comment says.....
[DW] The European Union has decreased its Mediterranean rescue efforts, while Greece and Italy are struggling to deal with displaced people who have already arrived. German cities are demanding permission to take action.
French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife were rushed from a Paris theater after protesters tried to burst in and disrupt the performance, a presidential staff says.https://t.co/cgrQmu1xnY
[DW] In a letter seen by German media, the EU has unveiled cuts in aid to The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire... over illegal gas drilling off Cyprus' coast and military operations in Syria. But Brussels stopped short of ending democracy promotion projects.
The EU has cut pre-accession aid to Turkey by 75%, according to a letter sent to the Europe ...the land mass occupying the space between the English Channel and the Urals, also known as Moslem Lebensraum... an Parliament by EU foreign affairs commissioner Josep Borrell and seen by the Essen-based Funke Mediengruppe.
Turkey will now only receive €168 million ($186 million) of which €150 million will be spent on strengthening democracy and rule of law. The rest is earmarked for rural development.
Borrell justified the cut by saying it was in response to Turkey's decision to stage a military operation in northeastern Syria and conduct unauthorized gas drilling off the coast of Cyprus.
STALLED ACCESSION
Comprising part of a controversial multi-billion-euro package to block refugees from seeking sanctuary in Europe, Brussels agreed to fast-track accession talks for Turkey in 2016.
However, it was a brave man who first ate an oyster... the accession process has stalled due to Turkey's growing authoritarianism spearheaded by President His Enormity, Sultan Recep Tayyip Erdogan the First ...Turkey's version of Mohammed Morsi but they voted him back in so they deserve him. It's a sin, a shame, and a felony to insult the president of Turkey. In Anatolia did Recep Bey a stately Presidential Palace decree, that has 1100 rooms. That's 968 more than in the White House, 400 more than in Versailles, and 325 more than Buckingham Palace, so you know who's really more important... The cut in aid, however, doesn't affect the €3.5 billion euros offered to Turkey as part of a larger EU deal to prevent refugees from reaching European shores.
'UNAUTHORIZED DRILLING'
The EU has already warned Turkey of possible repercussions over illegal gas drilling off the coast of Cyprus.
In November, the European Commission unveiled a sanctions regime to target "individuals or entities responsible for, or involved in, unauthorized drilling activities of hydrocarbons in the Eastern Mediterranean."
Turkey, however, argues that it is drilling within its territorial rights ‐ or those of Ottoman Turkish Cypriots.

A secret document from the Iranian government reveals that the Iranian regime's efforts to build nuclear weapons go back until at least 2002, the Daily Mail reported.
The document, which was one of several taken by a Mossad raid on Tehran in 2018, outlines the proposals of several scientists for a nuclear warhead, which were approved by the Iranian regime's top nuclear official, Moshen Fakhrizadeh.
The document and blueprints ‐ which will be the focus of a new report by the Friends of Israel Initiative (FOII), an NGO of several foreign policy experts and former presidents and prime ministers, currently chaired by former Canadian prime minister Stephen Harper ‐ prove the military ambitions of Iran's nuclear studies, despite official regime statements to the contrary.
"Iran intended to become a fully operational nuclear state," the report states, according to the Daily Mail.
These documents, if true, undermine the basis of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), also known as the Iran deal, signed in 2015 by the US, Iran, La Belle France, the UK, Germany, China and Russia.
Before the deal was signed, the ineffective International Atomic Energy Agency stated they found zero evidence "of the diversion of nuclear material in connection with the possible military dimensions" of Iran's nuclear program.
However, the hip bone's connected to the leg bone... the 2018 Mossad raid on Tehran produced several classified documents that at best, threw all of these claims into question.

...Wellll.....no. The Iranian nuclear program actually goes back to the Shah, though they didn't have a lot of it up and running when he had to leave town. The basic framework, however, was in place when the Ayatollahs took over.
