The Taliban really want a big win to open this year’s fighting season, but thus far it seems to have elided them.
[KhaamaPress] The Talibs suffered heavy casualties after their third attack was repulsed on Dawlatabad district in northern Faryab province.
The 209th Shaheen Corps in a statement said festivities took place between security forces and Talibs in various areas of Dawlabad district on Tuesday.
The statement further added that 11 Talibs including their two commanders identified as Omari and Mawlavi Naeem were killed during the festivities and 21 others were maimed.

Mawlavi Tahir and his fighters had travelled to Dawlatabad district to support the bully boyz who had attacked the security outposts in the district, the 209th Shaheen Corps added.
The anti-government armed bully boyz including Taliban have not commented regarding the festivities so far.

The 201st Silab Corps said at least 12 Taliban and 6 ISIS Khurasan gunnies were killed during the infighting which erupted on Monday.
The 201st Silab Corps of the Afghan Military in a statement said Tuesday that the clash broke out in Haidar Keli, Asman Kala, Ibrahim Khel, and Wadi Sar areas of Khogyani district on Monday.
It had earlier said that eight gunnies of the Red Unit of Taliban and four ISIS Khurasan gunnies were killed during the clash.

In one post, a gang member shared a photo of himself posing with others from the gang while brandishing an AK47 semi-automatic rifle, before later deleting it. The image had already been shared across social media, and each person pictured was summarily executed one by one. The group photo then reappeared online several times, each time with one more face struck off.

Sicilian prosecutors who ordered the arrests Wednesday said Sherlocks had identified the Italian suspect, 25-year-old Giuseppe Frittatta, from social media posts. Federal prosecutors said the 28-year-old German national, identified only as Volkan L. in line with German privacy rules, was arrested in Hamburg on Wednesday. He is suspected of membership in a foreign terrorist organization.
Prosecutors say that he traveled to Syria in November 2013 to join IS and underwent military training. They say he returned to Germany in March 2014 and turned his attention to finding new recruits.
He is accused of helping organize travel to Syria for one such person in summer 2014, acting as a go-between between the recruit and an IS member in Syria.

In a video that began circulating online on Sunday, an officer in the Department of Drugs and Psychotropic Substances branch in Basra is seen searching the Shiite holy man, who is believed to be Iranian, asking what he has brought into Iraq, while others film the scene.
In the video, the officer finds 10 Kuwaiti dinars ($33) and then claims that the currency is used to buy drugs, mainly "red mercury," an apparent reference to Mercurous chloride (mercury salts).
