[Breitbart] Appearing Friday on the Fox News Channel’s The Five, guest panelist Geraldo Rivera defended Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) for downplaying the terror attacks of September 11th, 2001, claiming the freshman congresswoman doesn’t have the "language" to adequately express herself about the tragedy.

Bullshit, pure and unadulterated. The honourable Congresswoman was born in 1981, making her twenty bloody years old on the day in question. So her life paused that day, along with the rest of us across the planet, while she waited to see if we were about to have war in the streets. And as a Muslim, she was no doubt aware that many Muslims in the country illegally — mostly overstayed student and visitor visas — suddenly left the country with their families and whatever easily portable wealth they could gather on short notice.
Though given the community she came from, she is probably also aware that on certain streets there was dancing that day, and candy given to children, just as my darling mother-in-law witnessed in the Yemeni neighbourhood of Lackawanna, NY.

she went to Thomas edison HS in Minneapolis, then ND State and was a fellow at the U of MN Humphrey institute for public policy
I'm sure she knows enough 'language'.
Geraldo, however, should known enough to call 9-11 an atrocity, not a tragedy

People who at the drop of the hat demand America apologize for 'its' terrible moments in history have no problem turning a blind eye to Islam's. Makes it clear that they're fundamentally anti-American.

Her education notwithstanding, knowing the Muslim view on assimilation, my guess is that it's highly unlikely that Ms. Omar will ever acquire proper English language skills. It might be interesting to have a good translation of what she'd say about it in her native tongue.

She established a position of rhetorical dominance by thuggishly mocking the West for falling victim to 9/11.
This assumption of a dominant position is seen as legitimate by pretty much the entire political class except for Trump who pushed back a bit.
Her overall success proves that her 'language skills' are adequate at least.
The Western political classes' reaction to this kind of provocation proves that the West has lost the 9/11 war.

She downplayed 9/11 and up-played the 'discrimination' afterwards. Discrimination that fell upon one poor Sikh in Arizona if I remember correctly. The rest were busy looking for discrimination while the US bent over backwards to avoid offending.

The local Minneapolis is blaming Trump of course.

[PJ] WASHINGTON ‐ Marianne Williamson, a 2020 Democratic presidential candidate, argued that reparations for descendants of slaves are a "debt we owe" as a society.
Williamson has suggested allocating $100 billion to a council that would spend the money on programs that benefit African-American ancestors of slaves as a form reparations.
Williamson was asked how she would pay for reparations, specifically where she would allocate the money from in the federal budget. In response, Williamson said that "nobody" asks that same question when tax cuts are passed or when wars are waged.
"This is not a debt we can afford to delay any longer. The economic restitution for two and a half centuries of slavery followed by 100 years of domestic terrorism. Germany has paid $89 billion to Jewish organizations since World War II," Williamson said during a CNN town hall on Sunday evening.
"It's simply a debt we owe. This country will not heal until we take a serious moral inventory. A nation must undergo the same level of deep moral inventory [and] admission of our character defects. Racism is a character defect. Let's end this. Let's fix this. Let's solve this. Reparations won't end everything but it will be a profound gift. It implies a mea culpa. It implies a recognition of a debt owed and therefore, it carries not only economic power but spiritual force -- whatever it costs, it's time to do this," she added.

I am "debt" free, even got a little back on my 2018 Federal tax return. I would strongly encourage Ms. Williamson to seize the moment and pay as much reparation as she can afford.
Hitching a ride on the Holocaust express, very tiring. Very tiring indeed.

Descendants of Union Civil War troops would be exempt? And people like Obama wouldn't qualify. We'd need to calculate the percent of slave ancestry, or go with the 'one drop black is black' rule, or to be non-racist, the 'one drop white is white' variant.
#8
That would be slavery and segregation maintained and supported by the Democratic Party. Why should America pay for the crimes of one party when the other party freed the slaves at tremendous human cost? It's your sin not ours.

Look toots, none of my ancestors were here back then and we don't owe you jack.
Reparations embodies both sides of the lefty "by association" coin. All whites are guilty by association, even if it can be conclusively proved none of their ancestors were in any way involved in slavery. All blacks are victims, even if they were slavers themselves. And don't even start to try to figure out where muzz slavers fit in then or now.

How many whites came in the waves of immigrants after the civil war? How many whites came from Northern states and never had slaves. How many blacks came to the US after slavery was abolished. How many blacks owned slaves. How do you handle folks that fit multiple categories. Why should Asian and latino americans have their tax dollars used for this?
Lots of issues with no answers beyond the idea is stupid.

I lost 4 ancestors at Gettysburg (3 Infantry and 1 Calvary) and 2 at Antietam (both Infantry). Also eight more in other lesser battles during the Civil War.
Scottish/Welsh and New Yorkers all.

The primary reason I have always been against the whole reparations is 15 to 20 years down the road we'll have a whole new generation screaming "where be my 'perations"
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President Donald Trump may have threatened to transport illegal immigrants to so-called sanctuary cities to "make everybody crazy" and generate media attention, Republican U.S. Senator Rick Scott said on Sunday.
Trump said on Friday he was considering sending illegal immigrants to sanctuary cities, prompting U.S. mayors to accept such an offer as the battle over border security rages.
Sanctuary cities are local jurisdictions that generally give undocumented immigrants safe harbor by refusing to use their resources to help enforce federal immigration laws that could lead to deportations.
Since many such jurisdictions are Democratic strongholds, the proposal was seen by critics of Trump as an attempt by the president to punish Democrats for refusing to support funding for the construction of a wall on the southern U.S. border.
It would, however, likely encounter a slew of logistical and legal obstacles, with some legal experts and advocacy groups saying the proposal could violate federal laws, including those barring the use of government funds for political purposes.

Would it be more kosher if funds were laundered through Catholic, Lutheran, Methodist, etc Charities (as currently done with refugees) to move southern border refugees into sanctuary cities?

Think about it: 100,000 illegal aliens camped in San Francisco's Cow Palace and city officials pleading with Gov. Newsom for help, Newsom calling for federal funding that Congress will not authorize, MSM harping on violent incidents, rapes, child abuse, unsanitary conditions, lack of food and shelter. Hey, Nancy, you got what you wanted. Deal with it.
