[AlAhram] The Egyptian Armed Forces announced on Monday that it has killed 52 "dangerous takfiri
...an adherent of takfir wal hijra, an offshoot of Salafism that regards everybody who doesn't agree with them as apostates who most be killed...
s" as well as the death of three army personnel.

The Armed Forces made the announcement in its 28th communiqué on developments in the anti-terrorism Operation Sinai 2018.

The Armed Forces launched Operation Sinai 2018 in February to target terrorist and criminal organizations in north and central Sinai, parts of the Nile Delta and the Western Desert.

The operation involves the army, navy, border patrol, air force and police.

The 28th communiqué stated that the Armed Forces has made several accomplishments as part of the operation in recent days.

Egypt's air force destroyed seven terrorist hideouts as well as two vehicles that were going to be used to attack a number of security checkpoints in North Sinai.

Security forces have also destroyed 28 vehicles that were attempting to cross the country’s western border.

The statement has also said that security forces killed 26 extremely dangerous takfiris who were in possession of automatic rifles, ammunition, grenades and boom belts.

The Arabic word "takfiri" refers to holy warrior Sunni Moslems who accuse other Moslems of being infidels, often as a justification for using violence against them.

Security forces have also seized two communication devices and military uniforms, as well as an unmanned aircraft used to monitor the activities of the Armed Forces.

A pre-emptive strike in El Arish, police national security forces killed 26 other extremely dangerous tafkiris and seized 10 rifles, four pistols and two bombs.

The statement said that security forces destroyed 26 cars and 52 cycle of violences without licence plates that were used by snuffies to carry out their operations.

The forces have also destroyed a number of hideouts containing large amounts of TNT and ammunition.

Naval forces are continuing to secure the country's territorial waters and cut off terrorists’ supply lines.

The statement added that border guards are securing the country’s western and southern border areas to counter infiltrations and the smuggling of weapons and drugs that threaten the security and stability of the land.

As a result of those hostile operations, an officer, a non-commissioned officer and a soldier has been killed, the statement read.

On the western border, security forces seized three automatic rifles, five sniper rifles, large quantities of various ammunition, 1,000 kg of cannabis, and 3 million tablets of anesthetic.

The communiqué also highlighted the arrest of 2,227 individuals attempting illegal migration.

On the southern border, 102 illegal immigrants colonists have been incarcerated
Please don't kill me!
and 31 vehicles were seized, as well as two communication devices and seven tons of rock ore.
Rock ore? That’s a new one, I think.
The Times of Israel summarizes as follows:
On Monday, the military says that 52 "takfiri
...an adherent of takfir wal hijra, an offshoot of Salafism that regards everybody who doesn't agree with them as apostates who most be killed...
s" or Sunni Moslem bandidos bandidos murderous Moslems were killed in two separate operations by security forces in the restive peninsula. Three members of the armed forces were also killed in these operations, it says in a statement, without stating when they took place.

According to official figures, a total of more than 350 suspected jihadists and at least 30 soldiers have been killed in the "Sinai 2018" campaign.

Egyptian officials confirm arrest of terrorist Hisham El-Ashmawi in Libya
[AlAhram] An Egyptian military source has confirmed to Ahram Online that Egyptian Special forces officer-turned-terrorist Hisham El-Ashmawi, one of Egypt's most wanted runaways, has been captured in Libya's eastern city of Derna.

Earlier on Monday, Ahmed Mismari, front man of the Libyan National Army (LNA), which controls eastern Libya, said that El-Ashmawi was apprehended in Derna, where eastern Libyan forces are fighting terrorist groups. A picture of El-Ashmawi with blood on his face has been published by the LNA.

It is not clear when El-Ashmawi, who has been sentenced to death in Egypt, will be handed over to the Egyptian authorities, but "an official statement will be released concerning the arrest later today," the source said.

El-Ashmawi was born in 1978, and graduated in 2000 from the military academy.

El-Ashmawi, also known as Abu Omar El-Mohager (the immigrant), is considered among the most dangerous gunnies linked to many attacks in Egypt.

In July 2015, El-Ashmawi announced the establishment of the Mourabitoun organization in Libya,
...also spelt al-Morabetoun, for some reason...
which is loyal to the al-Qaeda terrorist organization.

In Derna, he broke away from Ansar Beit al-Maqdis after the group swore allegiance to ISIS, and formed the al-Qaeda affiliated al-Mourabitoun.
El-Ashmawi is believed to have been involved in an liquidation attempt on former Egyptian Interior Minister Mohammed Ibrahim and the murder of top prosecutor Hisham Barakat, as well as plotting an attack on Egyptian border guards in February 2015, which resulted in the death of 29 Armed Forces personnel.

He is also believed to be behind a deadly attack on Christian pilgrims in Upper Egypt's Minya governorate in May 2017, which killed 29 people.

In January 2015, his group was suspected of staging a multi-pronged attack on the headquarters of the Army Battalion 101 Headquarters in El-Arish in North Sinai, which killed 30 soldiers and officers.

An Egyptian military court sentenced him in absentia, along with 13 other terrorists, to death over the New Valley massacre in Farafra on 19 July 2014, where 22 border guards were killed.

In 2007, a military court transferred El-Ashmawi to an administrative post before his dismissal from the army in 2011. He later joined the Sinai-based Ansar Beit al-Maqdis terrorist group.

El-Ashmawi received training on the manufacture of kabooms and combat operations. In April 2016 he traveled to Syria to join Islamist holy warriors fighting aganist Alasad's regime, yet a few months later he returned to Egypt where he participated in a sit-in supporting the outlawed Moslem Brüderbund group in Cairo's Rabaa El-Adaweya.

After the sit-in, El-Ashmawi escaped to Libya. In Derna, he broke away from Ansar Beit al-Maqdis after the group swore allegiance to ISIS, and formed the al-Qaeda affiliated al-Mourabitoun.

El-Ashmawi fled Sirte to Derna under pressure from the Libya National Army operations.

El-Ashmawi planned to regroup in the Western Desert of Egypt but failed due to Egyptian security operations.

El-Ashmawi also collaborated with the Moslem Brüderbund in Libya, led by Ahmed Abdul Jalil al-Hasnawi, who leads the al-Qaeda branch in southern Libya, as well as Ismail al-Salabi and Abdul Hakim Belhaj.

Before his capture on Monday, El-Ashmawi was spotted between the Maghara and al-Qalaa areas in Derna. The Libyan National Army discovered a tunnel network extending under the city which the LNA believes was being used by El-Ashmawi and other members of his group to move between cities.

Saudi airstrikes leave five more civilians dead in southern Yemen
[PRESSTV] At least five civilians have been killed when Saudi military aircraft carried out Arclight airstrikes against a residential area in Yemen’s strategic western province of Hudaydah as the Riyadh regime presses ahead with its atrocious bombardment campaign against its southern neighbor.

Saudi fighter jets conducted aerial assaults against bee farms in Jobaneh area of the al-Hali district on Monday morning, an unnamed local source told Yemen’s Arabic-language al-Masirah television network.

Later in the day, Yemeni army soldiers and allied fighters from Popular Committees targeted and destroyed a military vehicle belonging to Saudi troops in the Hawamra area of Yemen's southwestern province of Lahij, leaving a number of them dead and injured.

Elsewhere in the northern Yemeni province of Jawf, army soldiers and their allies lobbed a salvo of artillery rounds at the positions of Saudi-backed snuffies loyal to Yemen's former president Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi in the al-Ghayl district, killing and injured some of them.

Moreover, a civilian suffered injuries and a car went up in flames when Saudi border guards fired shots at al-Raqou area in the Monabbih district of Yemen’s mountainous northwestern province of Sa’ada.

Belgium arrests gang smuggling migrants to Britain
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Belgian police have dismantled a network of people traffickers accused of smuggling Sudanese and Eritrea

n migrants colonists to Britannia, the Brussels prosecutor said Monday.

On Sunday morning, around 50 Sherlocks raided several addresses in Brussels and detained 10 people, of whom seven have now been formally locked away
Youse'll never take me alive coppers!... [BANG!]... Ow!... I quit!
pending charges.

At two of the addresses a total of eight undocumented migrants colonists were found and have been handed over to immigration authorities, the prosecutor said.

The gang is alleged to have recruited vulnerable would-be migrants colonists in Parc Maximilien, an open area in Brussels that has become notorious as a transit point.

Around 20 migrants colonists per day paid between 500 and 2,500 euros ($575 and $2,870) for onward travel to Britannia, "often in unpleasant or even dangerous conditions in lorries, even freezer trucks".

According to the statement, the victims were instructed the take a train from Brussels to Rochefort-Jemelle, 120 kilometers (75 miles) southeast of the city.

From there, the North Africans walked another 15 kilometers along abandoned tracks to a truck stop at Wanlin and boarded trucks bound for Britannia.

The arrests came after an investigation that began in July and police are continuing the hunt for accomplices, including the "citizens" they presume helped the gang.

The Belgian authorities did not give any details about the identity of the seven suspects, who face charges of "human trafficking as part of a criminal organization."

Baghdad bombs & bullets bulletin: car kaboom gets 4, good guys kaboom 3 jacket wallahs, “extremists” murdered model, sez minister

Four people injured as bomb blast rocks Iraqi capital

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – A car bomb attack rocked the Iraqi capital Baghdad on Sunday, leaving four civilians wounded, according to a security source.

Speaking to the privately-owned Baghdad Today website, the source said that an explosive charge hidden inside a car went off in al-Rashid district in southern Baghdad.

“The blast left four people injured,” the source said, adding that the wounded were moved to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Iraqi security thwart terrorist attack against Shiite visitors in Baghdad

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – Iraqi security forces thwarted on Sunday a terrorist attack that was planned to target Shiite visitors in Baghdad.

“Security forces received reports about the presence of three suicide bombers in al-Radwaniyah district in southern Baghdad,” Mawazin News website quoted the Baghdad Operations Command as saying in a statement.

The terrorists, according to the statement, “were planning to target Shiite visitors taking part in Arbaeen rituals.”

“The troops managed to kill the three suicide bombers and seized light weapons and three explosive belts at the scene,” the statement read.

Arbaeen is a Shiite ritual marking the end of a 40-day mourning period for the 7th century death of Imam Hussein, grandson of the Prophet Mohammad.

Former Iraqi president Saddam Hussein banned Shiite gatherings for religious events for decades.

Pilgrims have gathered in sacred Shiite cities including Kerbala and Najaf for religious duties since a U.S.-led invasion toppled him in 2003.

But those gatherings were marred by suicide bombings carried out by Sunni militants, notably from al Qaeda and Islamic State, who regard Iraq’s majority Shi’ites as infidels.

Now that those groups have largely been defeated by U.S.-backed Iraqi security forces, Shiite pilgrims may have more peace of mind during this year’s Arbaeen, though security remains tight across the country.

Extremist group involved in murder of model Tara Fares: Interior Minister

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – Iraqi Interior Minister Qasim al-Araji has published a video on his Facebook page, revealing the outcome of an investigation into the killing of Iraqi model and fashion blogger Tara Fares.

In his online massage, Araji said that an extremist group, which he declined to name, is behind the murder of the 22-year-old Instagram starlet.

“A security team was formed to arrest those involved in Fares’ murder,” Araji told his Facebook followers. He further vowed to “bring perpetrators of Fares’ murder to justice to be tried in front of the Iraqi people.”

The 2015 Miss Baghdad was shot dead last month while driving her Porsche in a Baghdad street. She was one of Iraq’s best known social media figures.

Fares was killed two days after a women’s rights activist was shot dead in the southern city of Basra.

Fares lived in Erbil, the capital of Iraqi Kurdistan, but recently spent an increasing amount of time in Baghdad as her career progressed.

Fares had 2.7 million followers on Instagram and uploaded occasional vlogs to her YouTube channel.

A photo uploaded to her account after her death showed her with angel wings made of light.

“Sleep well princess, we will miss you,” the caption said, in English and Arabic

Sappers neutralize incendiary balloon found in settlement north of Jerusalem
[IsraelTimes] Device comes to ground in the courtyard of house in the West Bank settlement of Givat Ze’ev; no damage reported

Israel Police said sappers neutralized an incendiary device attached to a balloon that was discovered Monday in the courtyard of a home in the West Bank settlement of Givat Ze’ev, just north of Jerusalem.

An investigation into the incident has been opened, the force said in a statement.

Police sappers arrived at the scene and after checking the device, took it away for further examination.

There was no damage reported in the incident.

Givat Ze’ev is located about five kilometers north of the capital.

The tactic of sending airborne incendiary devices into Israeli territory has been used almost daily by Paleostinians in the Gazoo Strip since the start of weekly border protests there in March, but it is unlikely this balloon device was launched from the coastal enclave.

There have been a number of incidents in which West Bank Paleostinians appear to have copied the tactic, sending devices into Israeli settlements.

Last week a suspected incendiary balloon was discovered on a highway close to the Modiin industrial zone in the center of the country.

Arab Israeli man given 3.5 years for conveying Hamas funds from Turkey
[IsraelTimes] Under cover of Ottoman Turkish business trips, Dara’am Jabarin brought cash totaling €300,000 into Israel on behalf of Paleostinian terror groupv

An Arab Israeli man was sentenced to three and a half years in prison for helping the Hamas, always the voice of sweet reason, terror group to transfer hundreds of thousands of euros from The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
into Israel to fund its operations, the Justice Ministry said in a statement Monday.

In a plea bargain, the Jerusalem District Court convicted Dara’am Jabarin, a resident of the northern Arab town of Umm al-Fahm, of contact with a foreign agent, providing services to a terror organization, prohibited use of property for terrorist purposes, and prohibited transactions, as well as other offenses.

The case led to the Shin Bet security service earlier this year accusing Turkey of aiding the Gazoo-based Hamas organization raise and launder funds for its military activities against Israel.

Prosecutors said that in total Jabarin brought €300,000 ($344,000) to Israel on behalf of Hamas during business trips he made to and from Turkey over the past two years.

He was also given a suspended sentence and a fine of NIS 20,000 ($5,500). NIS 560,000 ($154,00) were forfeited for the state, the statement said.

According to the conviction, Jabarin has business operations in Turkey. In 2016 he met with two senior Hamas activists, Zaher Jabarin and Salamah Marahei, who sought to use his frequent journeys from Israel to Turkey to transfer money from Qatar
...an emirate on the east coast of the Arabian Peninsula. It sits on some really productive gas and oil deposits, which produces the highest per capita income in the world. They piss it all away on religion, financing the Moslem Brotherhood and several al-Qaeda affiliates. Home of nutbag holy manYusuf al-Qaradawi...
to Israeli territory, and from there to local Hamas operatives.

(Zaher and Dara’am do not appear to be related. Jabarin is a common last name.)

Dara’am Jabarin would bring the cash to Israel and leave it at drop-off points. He would take photos of the locations and send them to Hamas members in Turkey who would then arrange for local operators to pick up the money and transfer it to the West Bank.

On four occasions he brought between 50,000 and 100,000 euros, for a total of €300,000 until his arrest in January 2018 along with Ottoman Turkish national Cemil Tekeli.

When Jabarin was jugged
Drop the heater, Studs, or you're hist'try!
on January 21, security forces found €91,000 in his home, which the Shin Bet later said was due to be transferred to the West Bank.

Zaher Jabarin, a senior figure in Hamas responsible for its finances, was one of over a thousand convicted Paleostinian gunnies released from Israeli prisons as part of a 2011 deal to secure the return of captured soldier Gilad Shalit. Along with several other Shalit releasees, he later resettled in Turkey.

In February the Shin Bet said in a statement that during its investigation of the case "it became clear that Hamas is in direct contact with Ottoman Turkish authorities."

The security service said at the time that Ottoman Turkish citizen Tekeli revealed in his interrogation that money and materiel was given to Hamas through the SADAT company, which was established by Adnan Basha, who is closely connected to Ottoman Turkish administration officials.

According to the Shin Bet statement, the aforementioned activities "took place unhindered as Ottoman Turkish officials turn a blind eye and ‐ on occasion ‐ encourage it, and with the assistance of Ottoman Turkish nationals, some of whom are close to the government."

Tekeli is suspected of helping Hamas members set up businesses in Turkey, obtain visas to stay in the country, and acquire commercial properties, houses and cars.

Thousands riot at Gaza border, as Navy clashes with Palestinian flotilla
[IsraelTimes] Rioters attack troops with grenades, bombs, rocks and burning tires; dozens of protesters said hurt; Hamas, a regional Iranian catspaw, official calls for armed uprising in West Bank

Thousands of Paleostinians were demonstrating along the Gazoo Strip’s border with Israel Monday, with the Hamas-run health ministry saying some 30 people were maimed in riots in several locations.

Protesters threw grenades, bombs and rocks and rolled burning tires toward the troops on the other side of the security fence, the army said.

Thousands of rioters clashed with Israeli troops along the northern Gazoo border near Zikim beach, south of Ashkelon, the military said, and some managed to sabotage and remove a part of the fence.

Israeli soldiers responded with live fire in certain cases, as well as with less-lethal means, the military said.

Meanwhile,
...back at the alley, Bugs Moroni was holding Slats from behind while his brother Greasy Thumb was pounding his face into paste ...
dozens of boats challenged the Israeli blockade and were intercepted by Israeli Navy boats.

Fathi Hamad, the Hamas terror group’s former interior minister in the Strip, spoke to protesters near the flotilla and called, "To all those who hesitate, take up arms and fight Israel in the West Bank," Channel 10 news reported.

The flotilla marked 11 years since Israel imposed a blockade on the Paleostinian enclave in 2007, after Hamas came to power there. Both Israel and Egypt enforce a number of restrictions on the movement of people and goods into and out of Gazoo. Israel says the blockade is necessary to keep Hamas and other terror groups in the Strip from arming or building military infrastructure.

Meanwhile Israeli Fire and Rescue Services said Monday evening that they had far been called to extinguish one fire caused by an incendiary balloon flown into Israel from Gazoo.

11 Palestinians wounded during Gaza fishing boat protest

[PRESSTV] Eleven Palestinian protesters were wounded by Israeli fire during a protest along Gaza's coast on Monday, according to the Gaza Health Ministry.

Protesters were marking the 12 years since Israel imposed a blocked on the Gaza Strip. Several boats joined the protest, as those on land burned tires and threw stones over the border with Israel. Israeli forces responded with teargas and live fire.

According to the military report from Sweida, at least 15 soldiers from the Syrian Arab Army and National Defense Forces (NDF) were ambushed while traveling through a rocky area in the al-Safa region.

The Islamic State released gruesome photos showing the aftermath of the ambush; they show at least ten soldiers killed in the attack.

Due to the rough terrain of the al-Safa region, the Syrian Arab Army has been forced to advance at a slow pace against the Islamic State terrorists.

As long as the Islamic State holds the highest peak in the al-Safa region, the Syrian Arab Army will at the mercy of the terrorist snipers that are hidden throughout this vast volcanic area.

Turkish-backed rebels withdraw all heavy weapons in Idlib buffer zone
[ALMASDARNEWS] The Ottoman Turkish-backed rebels fully removed their heavy weapons from the Idlib buffer zone on Monday, the Syrian military reported.

According to the Syrian military, the Ottoman Turkish-backed National Liberation Front (NLF) withdrew all of their heavy weapons from the northern Hama part of the Idlib buffer zone.

Among the heavy weapons withdrawn on Monday was the National Liberation Front’s plethora of tanks that were positioned near the Syrian Arab Army’s (SAA) front-lines in northern Hama.

While the Ottoman Turkish-backed rebels have honored the Idlib buffer zone agreement, the jihadist groups have not.

The jihadist rebels have continued to use the Idlib buffer zone to attack the Syrian Arab Army and their allies in the Hama and Latakia governorates.
An Nahar adds:
Turkey-backed Syrian opposition forces as well as anti-regime armed groups pulled out heavy weapons, including rocket launchers, mortars and medium-range missiles, Anadolu added.

Heavy Arms Go, but Syria Rebels Alert on Dusty Frontline

[AnNahar] The young dust-covered rebel looked out warily from a dirt trench facing opposing regime forces as his unit pulled heavy weapons from a planned buffer zone in northern Syria. Squinting in the sun, he watched over the vast agricultural fields and web of dirt roads straddling opposition and government territory.

In the coming days, this area will see the establishment of a demilitarized zone meant to avert a massive regime assault on the Idlib region, the last major rebel bastion in Syria.

Under a deal reached last month by rebel backer The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...Qatar's colony in Asia Minor....
and regime ally Russia, the U-shaped zone ringing Idlib would be free of heavy weapons and jihadists by October 15.

No tanks or rocket launchers could be seen at the NLF's position on the al-Eis hilltop, in the westernmost part of Aleppo province near Idlib.

An older, bearded NLF commander walked through the maze of trenches in plastic sandals, a mustard-colored scarf wrapping his head and a Kalashnikov swung across his back.

Rusted barrels and loose cinderblocks littered the upper lip of the trenches, providing added protection.

Another younger fighter scrambled into a tunnel dug into the hilltop and reinforced with sandbags and corrugated metal.

"Pulling the heavy weapons will not affect our positions. We are continuing to reinforce and bolster them," NLF commander Abu Walid told AFP. "Our instructions are to remain in these areas and not retreat until the last drop of blood."

- TURKISH CONVOYS -
Government forces are stationed just five kilometers (three miles) away in the town of al-Hader, but the front is calm.

The two areas are connected by a trade checkpoint, and trucks of goods can be seen moving back and forth on the dusty road.

As the deadline to establish the buffer zone nears, rebel ally Turkey has dispatched convoys of personnel carriers and troops into Syria on a near-weekly basis.

It already operates more than a dozen monitoring posts around Idlib and Aleppo, and analysts expect the new deliveries to be distributed along what would become a "first line of defense" for opposition areas.

"The entry of Ottoman Turkish forces to these well-known positions is strengthening day after day," said Abu Walid.

He said "soldiers, tanks, and heavy weapons" were being brought into the monitoring posts.

But establishing the buffer still faces a major stumbling block: the jihadists who hold around two-thirds of the planned zone have yet to come on board.

Current al-Qaeda affiliate Hurras al-Deen has rejected the deal outright, while Hayat Tahrir al-Sham
, an alliance led by former al-Qaeda members, has not yet taken a stance.

Some analysts say that could indicate room for negotiation leading to an eventual approval from HTS. But the group itself has slammed any deals with the regime.

Even rebels who have signed up to the accord have raised some objections.

They say the deal demands too much of them, and fear that it could eventually pave the way for a regime takeover of their main remaining stronghold.

Their wariness may be justified. On Sunday, Syrian Hereditary President-for-Life Bashir Pencilneck al-Assad
Horror of Homs...
said the deal is just a "temporary measure" to halt bloodshed and that Idlib would eventually inevitably return to state control.
