SANTA ROSA, Ca. (CBS12) ‐ Old Glory and Coors Beer. Fashion and beverage of choice respectively for a 46-year-old homeless man in California who is accused of stealing a beer truck.
According to Santa Rosa Police, a beer delivery driver pulled up to the MD Liquor store to make a delivery on Thursday morning.

Authorities had no problem finding the truck. It had a GPS locator.
Note to self: Don't steal a beer truck with GPS locators. American flag shorts are pretty cool though. Maybe after getting out of jail the homeless guy could get some entrepreneur interested in American flag shorts.
[MAIL] A rowdy passenger aboard a Delta Airlines flight from London to Salt Lake City has been arrested for allegedly assaulting a US Air Marshal and throwing coffee on passengers.
Sarah Maria Beach, 45, an American expat living in London, faces misdemeanor assault charges which were filed in US district court in Utah on Thursday.
News of Beach’s arrest was reported by KSL.com.
Prosecutors have alleged that Beach threw coffee on passengers during the flight, overturned a drink cart, and ran up and down the aisle of the plane.
Flight attendants asked air marshals who were sitting in the back of the plane to help subdue Beach, according to the criminal complaint.
After Beach calmed down, she was seated next to one of the air marshals, who escorted her to the bathroom three times.
After she came out the third time, she allegedly jumped on the air marshal’s back and grabbed his head, neck, and jaw.
[Jerusalem Post] Sources are reporting that a naked gunman killed three diners at a Waffle House restaurant in Nashville, Tennessee on Sunday. The shooting took place around 3:30 a.m., and the shooter is said to have fled the scene on foot.

If he was naked where did he keep the AR-15? I wouldn't think he would get too far before E911 was lighting up. The local TV is reporting 4 dead this a.m.

OK so, some fact's from DailyMail article on this:
- Suspect is 29-year-old Travis Reinking, White male from Morton, Illinois
- Reinking was on the radar of both the FBI and law enforcement out of state 'due to previous interactions'
- He got out of his car, naked, with nothing but a green jacket on, opened fire, then ran to nearby apartment complex where he lived. Then proceeded to put pants on, take off the green jacket, and walk into nearby woods. So only pants on...
- Rampage stopped by James Shaw Jr. who doesn't think himself hero, just saw opportunity to save himself and wrestled the AR-15 from Reinking, then threw over counter. Was treated for graze and minor bullet wound on elbow
- Still two people in Critical condition, one stable, so death toll may rise
Anyone else think this is the 'Authorities' screwing up again?

FBI probably a little gun shy about potential central Illinois perps. Steven Hatfill was from Mattoon, IL. Cost them (taxpayers) a bundle when charges were dropped on Hatfill.

"Awesome, Dad"
Police identified the gunman as 29-year-old Travis Reinking from Illinois. It’s believed he moved here in the fall of 2017.
Here’s what we know about him so far:
1. He is from Morton, Illinois, but is currently living at an apartment complex called The Discovery at Mountain View near the Antioch Waffle House.
Driver’s license issued in Morton, Illinois
The truck he was driving is registered to him out of Morton, Illinois
2. Metro Nashville Police officials reported that he has had interactions with Morton Illinois Police Department and with the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
Reinking was arrested by the Secret Service after he was found in a restricted area near the White House in July 2017. He was released.
3. Authorities previously took his guns.
He was later interviewed by Tazewell County, Illinois authorities and the FBI, and his Illinois firearms authorization was revoked. Four weapons were seized by authorities, including the AR-15 used in the Waffle House shooting.
Police received information that the guns were returned to Reinking’s father.
Reinking’s father has acknowledged giving them back to his son.
Two of the four guns remain unaccounted for. (One was found at the scene, and a second was found during a search of his apartment.

No problem, so his father goes to jail for life without parole as an accomplice to murder.

James Shaw - Hero. Completely unarmed, goes hand to hand with the guy and takes the rifle getting shot at and grazed in the process.
His quote? "If he's going to kill me I'm going to make him work for it".
Apparently the hero jammed him up when he came into a doorway, where the rifle was unwieldy and got into a rassling contest, which the hero won, tossing the rifle and then getting the hell out of the AO. Went to Church the next morning - and the police did a news conference where they asked him to tell his story.
Here it is:
Good man.
Lessons:
Sometimes a good man WITHOUT a gun is enough.
Criminals are going to get guns no matter how many laws are passed that say they cannot - even if we come and take the guns, they are going to end up with one or more because they don't care about the laws.
Tactically speaking: Don't go into Close Quarters Battle with a Rifle - a pistol is the better weapon. Thankfully the assailant was not well versed in the art of CQB.
[Wash Times] An overwhelming majority of board members in Effingham County, Illinois, decided to "flip the script" this week and declare itself a "sanctuary" for gun owners.
Effingham County State’s Attorney Bryan Kibler and board member David Campbell called a barrage of gun-control bills working their way through the Illinois House and Senate a clear signal that it’s time to "take a stand."
The men joined "Fox & Friends First" on Thursday to discuss a new Second Amendment resolution that passed along an 8-1 vote.
We "decided it’s time for someone to take a hard stand," Mr. Campbell told the network.
The resolution reads: "If the Government of the State of Illinois shall infringe upon the inalienable rights granted by the Second Amendment, Effingham County shall become a ’sanctuary county’ for all firearms."

[DAWN] Green lipstick, blue lipstick and 40 shades of foundation to choose from are just some of the reasons why 18-year-old Shahad al-Qahtani is excited about superstar Rihanna’s make-up line debut in Soddy Arabia ...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face... Rihanna, known worldwide for her chart-topping songs and daring, provocative style, is wildly popular among the Saudi women coveting her new make-up line called "Fenty". Rihanna and other celebrities like Kim Kardashian who experiment boldly with their hair colour, make-up and clothes have become household names in Saudi Arabia, where fans can follow their every move on social media sites like Instagram and Snapchat.
Their styles, however, stand in stark contrast to how most Saudi women dress in public. Many cover their faces and hair with black veils. Women in Saudi Arabia must also wear long, loose black robes, known as abayas, over their clothes in public.
"I’ve tried her brand in Dubai and I came here to buy the things that were sold out there," al-Qahtani said as she selected products to put in her shopping basket from Rihanna’s Fenty line that launched on Thursday in Sephora make-up stores across the kingdom.
Al-Qahtani said she likes to experiment with her style and bold make-up choices at parties and weddings where women are segregated from men.
Even though most women will cover their face and hair in public, make-up sales are one of the biggest spends among Saudi women. This is in part because of the increasing number of Saudi women joining the workforce who now have their own salaries to spend from.

[PJMedia] As Venezuela suffers through the end stages of socialism, it seems that its government would rather its people starve than give up on its utopian dreams. "Take one for the team!"
CNBC reports: "Venezuelan Sebin intelligence agents burst into the Petropiar (PDVSA) joint venture's office in the coastal city of Puerto La Cruz on Monday and arrested ... two Venezuelan [Chevron] employees for alleged wrongdoing."
What was the crime? "The executives were arrested after disagreements with their PDVSA counterparts over procurement processes, two of the sources said."
A spokesperson for Chevron acknowledged the arrests, and said the company is working to make sure the employees are safe and to get them released in a timely manner. She declined to comment further.
Business disagreements are not grounds for arrest -- unless you're in a socialist hellhole like Venezuela, where disagreeing with the government makes you an enemy of the people.
Raul Gallegos, associate director with consultancy Control Risks, argued that this will remind companies to never "assume that good relations with PDVSA can last forever due to a common interest in pumping oil."
"The level of corruption in PDVSA, especially under a military administration, can and will trump production logic."

[Breitbart] Cartel violence in Tijuana continues with no end in sight as 11 killings were registered in a 24-hour period earlier this week. The deaths brought the number of homicides to 650 in 2018, according to government statistics as reported by local media. Authorities reported more than 100 homicides during the month of April.
Breitbart Texas previously reported that according to the attorney general’s office of Baja California, most homicides are going unsolved. This has contributed substantially to the current drug cartel violence. Of 132 registered homicides to start 2018, only five resulted in arrests with a total of 11 suspects detained.
This week’s violence began during the early morning hours of Monday, April 16 in the colonia Reforma neighborhood, local news outlets reported. Officials discovered the decapitated corpse of an unknown male, 30-35 years of age.

[DAWN] Police on Friday claimed to have tossed in the calaboose Please don't kill me! another man nominated in a case pertaining to the rape and murder of a minor girl in the Manghopir area.
DIG West Amir Farooqi confirmed the arrest of the suspect and said that he along with his detained accomplice "have given all details about the incident and the motive behind it".
"We are waiting for [the results of the] DNA tests before we can officially confirm the involvement of the said persons in the case," said the DIG.
Two other coppers familiar with the case told Dawn that during initial investigations the held suspects identified the place and the police also recovered some missing belongings of the victim girl from there.
They said that the family of the dear departed girl had nominated three suspects and it was believed earlier that they did so over some enmity.
On April 14, the nominated suspects stormed a house in Baloch Para of Orangi Town and beat residents over some matrimonial dispute.
They said that a woman, Nawabzadi, was married to the brother of one of the suspects and she was also a cousin of the victim girl’s father.

[DAWN] An 11-year-old girl was strangled to death on Friday night, allegedly by two neighbours, in Sardar Khan Pitafi village of Sindh's Ghotki district, DawnNews TV reported.
According to the victim's father, the girl was killed by neighbours while the family had gone to visit a shrine in the area.
Police have tossed in the calaboose Drop the rod and step away witcher hands up! both suspects named by the father in the first information report lodged earlier today.
The father's claims that the victim was raped before being killed were dismissed by Station House Officer Imamuddin, who said that the suspects had murdered the child because she saw them in a "compromising position".
Police said that both suspects had confessed to the crime and were under arrest. The body of the child was handed over to the family after a post-mortem examination.

[DAWN] The Supreme Court of Pakistain ‐ acting on a suo motu ...a legal term, from the Latin. Roughly translated it means I saw what you did, you bastard... notice ‐ on Friday reconsidered the death sentences handed to Kaniz Fatima and Imdad Ali, both death row convicts who suffer from mental disabilities.
A two-member bench comprising Justice Ijazul Ahsan and the chief justice took up the matter, with the latter asking how the state can execute mentally ill persons.
"Neither reason nor sensibility allow me to believe that we can execute a mentally ill or disabled person," Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar stated during proceedings, recalling that international legal systems have unequivocally forbidden the execution of mentally ill persons.
The court subsequently formed a five-member bench to examine the matter and rule on it.
It is worth recalling that the Supreme Court had cleared the way for Imdad Ali's execution in October 2016 after ruling that schizophrenia ‐ which Ali suffers from ‐ was a "curable disease".
However, there's no worse danger than telling a mother her baby is ugly... the warrant for his execution was never issued because of severe criticism over the ruling, a new petition from Ali's lawyers and a request for review from the Punjab 1.) Little Orphan Annie's bodyguard

[DAWN] The Indian government signed off on an emergency executive order in a cabinet meeting to introduce capital punishment for child rapists, NDTV reported on Saturday.
The ordinance, proposed by the Indian Home Ministry, was signed by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi at a Union Cabinet meeting held hours after he returned from a five-day international tour.
The move comes in the wake of massive outcry over the government's inaction against the rising number of rape cases, the most recent of which receiving international condemnation, was the gang rape and murder of an eight-year-old girl in Kathua city of Indian-held Kashmire.
According to NDTV, the government also signed an order allowing the assets of economic offenders fleeing the country to be confiscated.

[DAWN] In a bid to not let the province's set security protocols be affected by the Supreme Court's orders, the Sindh government on Saturday added several new categories to the list of personnel entitled to police security. You ain't a big shot unless you're followed around by a squad of muscle paid by The Little People.
Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar on Thursday had directed the inspectors general of police of the four provinces and Islamabad to immediately withdraw security provided to unauthorised persons.
Subsequently, Sindh Inspector General Police A.D Khowaja had ordered the immediate withdrawal of security protocol provided to influential individuals not entitled to official security.
Police sources told Dawn that more than 5,000 police guards had been withdrawn when the home department on Saturday issued a new notification, adding at least 10 more categories to the list of personnel entitled to security, effectively countering the chief justice's orders.

[DAWN] Iran's state TV is reporting that the country's president has criticized the morality police's use of violence against women failing to observe the national Islamic dress code.
Hassan Rouhani's condemnation came after such an incident in Tehran was caught on video and went viral on social media channels.
Rouhani said Saturday that "promoting virtue and preventing vice" the morality police's stated mandate through violence is impractical.
"Grabbing people's collars (to) promote virtue will not work," he said.
Iran's interior minister, Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli, had ordered authorities on Thursday to investigate the incident.
Lawmaker Tayebeh Siavoshi said Saturday that the female agent involved has been suspended from her job.
In December, Tehran's police said they will no longer arrest women not observing the Islamic dress code imposed in 1979.

[WattsUpWithThat] In the May 2000 issue of Reason Magazine, award-winning science correspondent Ronald Bailey wrote an excellent article titled "Earth Day, Then and Now" to provide some historical perspective on the 30th anniversary of Earth Day. In that article, Bailey noted that around the time of the first Earth Day in 1970, and in the years following, there was a "torrent of apocalyptic predictions" and many of those predictions were featured in his Reason article. Well, it’s now the 48th anniversary of Earth Day, and a good time to ask the question again that Bailey asked 18 years ago: How accurate were the predictions made around the time of the first Earth Day in 1970? The answer: "The prophets of doom were not simply wrong, but spectacularly wrong," according to Bailey.
Here are 18 examples of the spectacularly wrong predictions made around 1970 when the "green holy day" (aka Earth Day) started:

Semi-related - I spotted some TV series (may have been our local communist channel, WGBH (think local PBS)) featuring one of our favorite Alarmists, Bill Nye, the 'Science Guy'. I think he was taking on 'climate deniers' in that episode, and he looks like a dork, so I changed the channel pretty quickly.

Many of the predictions were about famine, especially in India. Norman Borlaug changed all that. He won the Nobel Peace Prize for it. Look him up on Wikipedia.
I also found it amusing that they were predicting an ice age by 2000.

A clean environment is a luxury good. It's something wealthy nations obsess with and poor nations couldn't care less bout. They are just trying to feed everyone. So you need a relatively free, market based economy before the environment ever even enters the picture. How ironic that environmentalists are so keen on destroying the very thing that makes them possible.
