-War on Police-
102 US police officers killed, 715 people killed by police in 2016
[SA Today] The number of deaths of police officers in the United States was 102 to date in 2016, according to the latest data from the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund.

The data showed that the number of the police officers shot and killed so far this year is up more than 40 percent from last year.

The deaths included two police officers who were killed Saturday in Palm Springs, 170 km east to Los Angeles.

Californian authorities early Sunday arrested the suspect gunman, John Felix, a 26-year-old resident of Palm Springs, who had a history of violence in police records. He also wounded a third police officer.

The Obama administration's two pronged attack on the 'Rule of Law.' At the National level, through DoJ and the courts. At the local level, anarchy in the streets against our brave Law Enforcement community.

#1  More on the shooter and his criminal record from the Desert Sun.

Felix, 26, was previously sentenced to four years in prison in an attempted gangland assassination. He was also the subject of a forceful arrest three years ago on the same doorstep where the Saturday shooting occurred. Investigators would not speak about Felix's criminal history during a news conference on Sunday, but confirmed he was "no stranger to the justice system."

#2  based on the NLEOMF website,

the 102 number includes officers killed in vehicle collisions, officers killed while outside their vehicle while struck by a vehicle, officers dead from job related illnesses,.etc. Number shot is about 30% of that 102 and includes officers killed accidentally.

Afghanistan
Petraeus: Next President Must Make ‘Enduring Commitment' to Afghanistan Security
[PJ] WASHINGTON - Gen. David Petraeus, former CIA director and former commander of U.S. Central Command, said the situation in Afghanistan is "deteriorating" and encouraged the next administration to make an "enduring commitment" to security in the country.

"The situation as we describe is fraught and it is concerning, and the bottom line is we believe the next administration should make an enduring commitment to Afghanistan and our partners there -- that is the real bottom line and, if you will, the headline -- that we should not have to go through the annual reviews to see where you are and how you are going to draw down or what have you, that we should use the assets we have there as effectively as we possibly can to support our Afghan security force counterparts," Petraeus said during a discussion on Afghanistan security last week at the Brookings Institution.

"As many of you know, our air power was restricted for quite some time. We think it warrants further examination to determine how we can indeed help individuals for whom we provided close air support when we were fighting shoulder to shoulder with them and then we did not do that for some period of time until more recently. Those are the kinds of initiatives that should be pursued," he added.

Petraeus said U.S. involvement within Afghanistan, which began after the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks and surged during President Obama’s first term, is not a blank check and has to be a commitment from both sides.

14 die in Taliban assault in Helmand
[AlManar] Taliban insurgents trying to seize a southern Afghan city killed 14 people including 10 policemen in a coordinated attack which started with a car bombing Monday, officials said.

The assault was the militants’ latest attempt to capture the besieged Helmand provincial capital of Lashkar Gah after they gradually expanded their foothold across the opium-rich province.

“The enemy attacked to breach the security belt in Lashkar Gah this morning, but the attack was repelled by Afghan security forces,” said interior ministry spokesman Sediq Sediqqi.

He said seven militants were killed but did not give a figure for other deaths.

An official source told AFP on condition of anonymity that, apart from the insurgents, 14 people including 10 police were killed and 10 wounded.

The early-morning attack began with a car bombing in an attempt to break through the security belt, a security source and local residents told AFP.

“They seized a check post for an hour before they were pushed back by Afghan special forces,” said a local elder, Maulawi Hanafi.

Libyan forces push into last ISIS area in Sirte
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Libyan pro-government forces are advancing into the last area controlled by ISIS in the coastal city of Sirte, surrounding the snuffies after a five-month campaign backed by US air strikes, military officials say.

At least eight pro-government fighters were killed over the weekend as their forces pushed into the 600 block, an area in central Sirte, with snipers and boobytraps posing the main obstacles to their advance, the officials said.

A Rooters news hound on the ground said forces advanced across two streets on Sunday, but were facing resistance and discovering bombs in many buildings.

ISIS took over Sirte a year ago, exploiting the chaos and violence that have dogged Libya since the overthrow of leader Muammar Qadaffy
...who single-handedly turned a moderately prosperous kingdom into a dictator's fantasyland and was then murdered by his indignant subjects 42 years later...
in 2011 in order to carve out a new base, far from its main territory in Iraq and Syria.

Losing the city would be a major blow to the group, but officials believe some of its fighters and commanders escaped before Sirte was surrounded, and may continue to wage guerrilla-style attacks even after it falls.

The advance is being led by the Bonyan Marsous forces, mainly fighters from the city of Misrata, who are supporting a United Nations
...an organization originally established to war on dictatorships which was promptly infiltrated by dictatorships and is now held in thrall to dictatorships...
-backed unity government in Tripoli
...a confusing city, one end of which is located in Lebanon and the other end of which is the capital of Libya. Its chief distinction is being mentioned in the Marine Hymn...
that is trying to bring together rival factions.

"The forces of Bonyan Marsous made some advances and completely trapped the 600 block area in Sirte," Misrata forces media official Ali Almabrouk said.

Mohammed Ghasri, a front man for pro-government forces, said two female snuffies had escaped with their three children and surrendered. They told Misrata forces they did not want to be used in suicide kabooms, Ghasri said.

The fall of a major city to one of the country’s most powerful factions is rekindling tensions with rival brigades in the east, led by Khalifa Haftar
... served in the Libyan army under Muammar Qadaffy, and took part in the coup that brought Qadaffy to power in 1969. He became a prisoner of war in Chad in 1987. While held prisoner, he and his fellow officers formed a group hoping to overthrow Qadaffy. He was released around 1990 in a deal with the United States government and spent nearly two decades in the United States, gaining US citizenship. In 1993, while living in the United States, he was convicted in absentia of crimes against the Jamahiriya and sentenced to death. Haftar held a senior position in the anti-Qadaffy forces in the 2011 Libyan Civil War. In 2014 he was commander of the Libyan Army when the General National Congress (GNC) refused to give up power in accordance with its term of office. Haftar launched a campaign against the GNC and its Islamic fundamentalist allies. His campaign allowed elections to take place to replace the GNC, but then developed into a civil war. Guess you can't win them all...
, who has rejected the authority of the UN-backed government in Tripoli.

In a major advance, Haftar has taken control of eastern oil ports and his troops have advanced close to Sirte. Many in the west of Libya believe Haftar is planning to establish himself as a military strongman like Qadaffy. His backers in the east see him as the only one who has fought for their interests, especially against Islamist bad boys.

Arab coalition operations kill 50 Houthis in Yemen
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Saudi special forces along with the Arab coalition carried out a military operation in Yemen’s mountain tops to combat Houthi
...a Zaidi Shia insurgent group operating in Yemen. They have also been referred to as the Believing Youth. Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi is said to be the spiritual leader of the group and most of the military leaders are his relatives. The Yemeni government has accused the Houthis of having ties to the Iranian government, which wouldn't suprise most of us. The group has managed to gain control over all of Saada Governorate and parts of Amran, Al Jawf and Hajjah Governorates. Its slogan is God is Great, Death to America™, Death to Israel, a curse on the Jews ...
militias near the Saudi border, Al Arabiya correspondent reported on Monday.

Sources said that the assassinations on the mountain tops resulted in the death of at least 50 Houthi militias, and destroyed several of their artillery store of ammunition and weapons.

Soddys intercept 2 Houthi missiles
[Al Arabiya] Saudi Arabia has intercepted two ballistic missiles fired by Houthi militias from Yemen, according to the Saudi Press Agency.

The Saudi military said early on Monday that it stopped one missile fired toward Marib in Yemen and a second targeting the Saudi city of Taif.

Saudi state television aired a brief clip of what appeared to be a projectile landing in Taif and the flash of an explosion, following by images of emergency vehicles. The military said the missiles caused no damage.

A Saudi-led Arab coalition has been battling Shiite Houthi militias in Yemen since March 2015.

Houthi militias, as well as their allies are known to have a stockpile of Soviet-era Scud missiles and locally designed variants.

How the British Government Tries to Stop Youth From Becoming Terrorists
[Daily Signal] Rashad Ali once belonged to an Islamic extremist group, but he now spends his days helping the British government prevent others from becoming radicalized.

His position makes him an easy target of criticism, from multiple angles.

"On the one hand, I get criticized from people in the Muslim community who see me as acting on behalf of the state and the authorities, and on the other hand I am criticized by those who are genuinely anti-Islam and see what I am doing--helping British Muslims reconcile their identity--as some kind of secret to plot to spread Islam," Ali says.

As a Muslim growing up in Sheffield, an industrial city that carries what he calls an "anti-establishment" mentality, Ali says, he struggled finding his way. At 15 years old, he decided to join Hizb ut-Tahrir, a nonviolent Islamic political organization.

German Police Arrest Syrian Refugee Suspected of Plotting Attack
[Free Beacon] German authorities arrested a Syrian refugee on Monday who was suspected of plotting a bomb attack on behalf of the Islamic State.

Jaber Albakr, 22, was detained in eastern Germany after a two-day manhunt stemmed from a tip-off that he may be attempting to recruit conspirators.

Authorities found explosives while searching for Albakr on Saturday during a raid on an apartment in Chemnitz, located roughly 160 miles south of Berlin. German Interior Minister Thomas de Maiziere said in a statement the evidence suggested "the preparations in Chemnitz are similar to the preparations for the attacks in Paris and Brussels."

Albakr arrived in Germany last year along with the nearly 900,000 other migrants who poured into the nation in 2015. He was granted asylum in June of last year.

Authorities captured Albakr after three other Syrian migrants recognized him from police photos and tied him up in their apartment. The president of the Saxony state police said Albakr’s behavior suggested he was likely inspired by ISIS.

"Tired but overjoyed: we captured the terror suspect last night in Leipzig," the Saxony police tweeted Monday.

Police arrested a second suspect from Syria at Chemnitz station on Saturday. The federal interior ministry said it was too soon to determine whether Albakr was connected to a larger terrorist network.

Italy expels Tunisian accused of supporting Islamic State group

[AlAhram] Italy says it has expelled a Tunisian man who pledged support to the Islamic State group on his Facebook page and was allegedly planning to go to the Syrian-Iraqi region to fight. Monday's expulsion marked the 122nd person Italy has kicked out since January 2015 on security grounds related to Islamic extremism.

Interior Minister Angelino Alfano said the investigation was conducted alongside French authorities because the Tunisian, who came to Italy in 2003, was in touch with an underage Frenchwoman of Italian origin. Alfano said that French authorities had identified him from his activity on a jihadi chat board, adding that he "clearly intended to reach the Syrian-Iraqi theater."

Greek police escort refugee children to school

[AlAhram] Police in a northern Greek village escorted refugee children to school Monday, as local parents protested the launch of a national programme to educate migrant youngsters, an AFP reporter saw. Around 100 police formed a corridor to enable some 40 puzzled-looking children from Syria and Afghanistan to enter the school at Profitis, a village a few kilometres (miles) north of Thessaloniki.

A similar number of parents -- who had earlier padlocked the school gate -- waved Greek flags and hurled insults at local education authorities.

"Our children will be raped and then, who will take responsibility?" one parent shouted.

"We are told these children have been vaccinated but we don't believe them," another said.

Some 1,500 refugee children attended classes in some 20 schools nationwide Monday, the first day of an education initiative set to include thousands of minors from war-torn regions. Eventually over 10,000 children are to be part of the programme by the end of the month, according to the education ministry.

Over 60,000 refugees and migrants are currently stuck in Greece after several European states further north shut their borders earlier this year.

France: UK has "moral duty" to take Calais migrant children

[Ynet] France's interior minister says Britain has a "moral duty" to take in all children with family links to the UK who are living in a border refugee camp on the French side of the English Channel.

Bernard Cazeneuve made the comments on RTL radio Monday, ahead of a London meeting with his counterpart, Amber Rudd. Cazeneuve said he is "solemnly asking the UK to fulfill its moral duty" to take in "several hundred isolated minors with family in Britain."

The London meeting will address the closure of the slum-like camp in Calais that's become a flashpoint in Europe's migrant crisis. Thousands of migrants fleeing war and hardship from countries such as Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan have reached the port town in the hope of making it to Britain.

3 Syrians aid German police in alleged bomb plot suspect
Continuing to develop the story from yesterday.
A summary of what we learnt yesterday:
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] A Syrian man wanted for allegedly preparing a bombing attack was apprehended by three of his countrymen, who overpowered him, tied him up in their apartment, and then alerted police, authorities said Monday.

The overnight arrest of Jaber Albakr ended a nearly two-day nationwide search for the 22-year-old that German authorities launched after finding several pounds of explosives and components hidden inside an apartment in the eastern city of Chemnitz on Saturday.

Albakr arrived in Germany amid a flood of 890,000 asylum seekers last year. Saxony criminal police chief Joerg Michaelis said that the three Syrians who captured him recognized the suspect from wanted posters police posted online as part of the manhunt.

After taking him to their apartment late Sunday night, two of the Syrians bound and held Albakr while the third brought a mobile phone photo of Albakr to a local cop shoppe, leading to the arrest early Monday, Michaelis said.

Prosecutors and police said Monday that they considered Albakr an myrmidon with likely links to the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
group. Germany's domestic intelligence agency had been watching him since September and alerted Saxony authorities about his alleged possible plot on Friday, authorities said.

When police raided the apartment in the city of Chemnitz where he was thought to be staying on Saturday, Albakr was able to flee. Inside the apartment they found 1.5 kilograms (3.3 pounds) of "extremely dangerous explosives" and components, according to federal prosecutors.

Criminal police chief Michaelis said that, at this stage of the investigation, "the behavior and actions of the suspect currently speak for an IS context." He didn't elaborate.

A security official said there was no indication yet that Albakr was being directed by the Islamic State group, but that Sherlocks still were combing through seized evidence. The official wasn't authorized to discuss the investigation publicly and so spoke on condition of anonymity.
New information starts here:
Police said it was not clear when and how the suspect met up with his three countrymen in Leipzig, about 80 kilometers (50 miles) from Chemnitz, or if they already knew him.

They would not release any further information about the three Syrians who apprehended Albakr. If the signs of his having an myrmidon background were substantiated, "the people who gave the tip are of course in danger," the police chief said.

Federal prosecutors, who handle terrorism investigations in Germany, said in a statement Monday they currently have no indications that a target already had been chosen for an attack.

A 33-year-old Syrian at whose Chemnitz apartment police found the hidden explosives was locked away
Please don't kill me!
over the weekend and is considered a co-conspirator in the alleged bomb plot, prosecutors said.

He was identified only as Khalil A. in keeping with German privacy laws. Albakr's full identity and photograph had been released while he was on the run and being sought.

The explosives were described as similar to the ones used in the deadly Nov. 13 attacks in Gay Paree and the March 22 attacks in Brussels. Known as TATP, or triacetone triperoxide, it is fairly easy to make and detonate, police said.

"According to everything we know today, the preparations in Chemnitz are similar to the preparations for the attacks in Gay Paree and Brussels," German Interior Minister Thomas de Maiziere said.

IS bomb suspect planned to target Berlin airport: official

[DeutscheWelle] The 22-year old Jaber A., who was placed in durance vile
You have the right to remain silent...
in Leipzig on Sunday night, apparently intended to bomb an airport in the name of the so-called "Islamic State" (IS) terrorist group, the head of German domestic intelligence said.

"We received intelligence that he initially planned to attack trains in Germany." Hans-Georg Maaßen told the German public broadcaster ARD on Monday. "Later, the plans became more specific and directed at airports in Berlin."

The police were tracking Jaber A. and decided to raid his Chemnitz apartment on Friday, when the suspect was seen buying glue in a one-euro-store.

"We have assumed that this might be the last chemical ingredient he needed to make a bomb," Maaßen said.

In the apartment, the police found a highly violatile substance, likely identical with the explosives used by 'IS' for attacks in Gay Paree and Brussels. The explosives were "almost ready, or even ready for use", state police chief Joerg Michaelis said at a Dresden presser.

"From everything we know today, the preparations in Chemnitz are similar to the preparations for the attacks in Gay Paree and Brussels," German Interior Minister Thomas de Maiziere said.

According to the Bild newspaper, Jaber A. had met with three other Syrians while looking for urgent accommodation in Leipzig, after fleeing the police in Chemnitz. His new roommates eventually recognized him and managed to constrain him in their apartment.

Jaber A. had tried to bribe his captors, one of the Syrians who overpowered him told the German RTL broadcaster.

"We told him: You can give us as much as you like, but we are not letting you go," Mohammed A. told the TV station.

The Syrians tried calling the police, but the officials could not understand them. This prompted Mohammed to go to the station and lead the authorities to the suspect.

"I was so angry at him. I won't accept such a thing ‐ especially here in Germany, the country that opened its door to us," he added.

Political fallout
The Christian Social Union (CSU), the Bavarian wing of Merkel's center-right government coalition, said that Germany's Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF) needed to introduce a "total revision" of the registration of asylum seekers.

CSU General Secretary Andreas Scheuer said the BAMF needed to conduct individual interviews with all refugees, "because we must know who is coming to us, and who is staying with us."

In fact, a BAMF spokeswoman told DW that although individual interviews had been replaced with multiple-choice questionnaires during the height of the bureaucratic crisis caused by last year's influx of refugees, the authority currently carries out interviews with anyone applying for asylum in Germany. Even during the crisis, she added, individual interviews were carried out in all cases where a refugee's identity could not be established.

The BAMF said on Monday that it would report all forged passports directly to the police in the future. Up until now, it had merely reported the matter to the relevant regional authority.

Brother of local political leader shot dead by burqa-clad men
This is why even ISIS now disallows such things.
KARACHI: Brother of a local leader of Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) was shot dead in the Orangi Town area of the metropolis, according to police officials.

"Kashif Sagheer, 25, was sitting along with some other men in sector 12-C of Orangi Town when four suspects riding on two motorcycles opened fire on him and fled," said Pakistan Bazaar Station House Officer, Imtiaz Mirjat.

The police official added the backseat riders were wearing burqas to avoid the pillion ban imposed recently.

Mirjat also said the victim’s elder brother, Asif, was a local leader of PSP in Orangi Town.

Police officials have started an investigation into the incident.

"The assailants specifically targeted Sagheer," added the police official.

The deceased sustained critical bullet wounds and was transported to a hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

The Sindh government on Friday imposed ban on pillion riding in Karachi in line with the security arrangements made for Muharram.

Air raids in Tirah valley kill 7 suspected militants
PESHAWAR: Pakistan Air Force jets on Monday targeted hideouts of banned outfits, killing seven suspected militants in the airstrikes, security officials said.

"Pakistan Air Force jets targeted militant hideouts in the Kokikhel area of Tirah valley, and at least seven militants were killed and several hideouts destroyed," said security officials.

The details of the strikes could not be independently verified as access of media personnel is restricted in the region.

Thai police warn of Bangkok bomb plot, step up security
[Channel NewsAsia] BANGKOK: Police in Thailand on Tuesday said they have increased security at major landmarks in the capital Bangkok, at airports and in surrounding provinces following reports of bomb plots just weeks after deadly attacks rocked the country's south.

An armed group was plotting car bomb attacks in a province near Bangkok, Thailand's national security head said.

"The deputy prime minister instructed security agencies closely track and monitor anything unusual including things used to prepare bombs and cars," Thawip Netniyom, chief of Thailand's National Security Council, told reporters.

"Why target Bangkok? They probably want to make an impact," he said, without giving details on which groups could be behind the plot.

Popular tourist destination Thailand has seen a series of bomb attacks in the country's south over the past few weeks, including a wave of bombs in tourist towns between Aug. 11-12 that killed four Thai people and injured dozens, including foreigners.

Police have linked the attacks to Muslim separatists operating in Thailand's far south. Security chief Thawip said he was not sure whether the planned car bombs and the August attacks were related.

Thailand's tourism industry, which accounts for 10 percent of gross domestic product, has weathered more than a decade of unrest including two military coups and the recent bombings.

Britain's Foreign Office advised travellers to exercise caution following the August bombings.

"You should exercise caution, particularly in public places ... Further incidents are possible in these and other areas of Thailand," the Foreign Office said.

In August 2015, a bomb ripped through a religious shrine in Bangkok killing 20 people, most of them tourists. But the attack failed to dent tourist arrivals to any discernable degree. Two ethnic Uighur Muslims from China are on trial in Thailand accused of carrying out the attack.

Analysts and diplomats suspected the attack was linked to Uighur sympathizers angered by Thailand's deportation of more than 100 Uighurs to China the previous month. Bangkok is currently playing host to a regional meeting attended by some world and business leaders.

Police said they were on high alert. "I have ordered all police under my supervision in the area around Bangkok to monitor news, investigate and gather intelligence on groups who could come in and cause trouble," said Police Lieutenant General Charnthep Sesawet, acting chief of Provincial Police Region 1, which oversees areas around the capital.

Syrian army steps up Aleppo assault
BEIRUT, Lebanon: Syrian government forces Sunday kept up their blistering assault on rebel-held eastern Aleppo after a divided UN Security Council failed to agree on a truce to “save” the war-battered city.

Regime forces and their allies were advancing street by street in the eastern sector which has been out of government hands since 2012.

“Clashes on the ground as well as fierce air strikes went on all night and are continuing Sunday, especially in the Sheikh Said district” of eastern Aleppo, said Rami Abdel Rahman, head of the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

It said regime forces took control of the Jandul crossroads in the northeast of the city.

The latest advances aim to clear the way for “a crucial and decisive land offensive,” said the Damascus daily Al-Watan which is close to the government.

The army launched its assault on the besieged sector of Aleppo more than two weeks ago with the backing of Russian air strikes, aiming to reunite the city which was Syria’s economic hub before its conflict erupted in 2011.

According to the Observatory, air strikes by the regime and its Russian ally have claimed 273 lives, mostly civilians and including 53 children, since the September 22 launch of operations to reunite the government-held west and the east of Aleppo.

Another 17 civilians have died in artillery bombardment of eastern districts, says the Britain-based monitoring group.

The Observatory, which compiles its information from sources on the ground, said 50 civilians, including nine children, have also died in rebel bombardment of regime-controlled western districts.

Turkish artillery hits ISIS positions in Dwibik
[ARA News] Aleppo – At least ten civilians were killed and others wounded after the Turkish army and allied rebels bombed the countryside of Azaz in Syria’s northern Aleppo Governorate, activists and eyewitnesses reported on Monday.

The Turkish army and rebel fighters of the Euphrates Shield hit the town of Dwebik in Azaz District with heavy artillery.

The targeted town and other areas in Azaz District are held by the Islamic State’s (ISIS) militants.

Turkey’s military said in a statement that its forces supported the Euphrates Shield rebels in bombing ISIS headquarters in the area. However, local sources said that most of the casualties were civilians.

“The Turkish shelling hit a populated neighbourhood in Dwebik, killing 11 civilians and injuring 15 others,” local media activist Alwan al-Halabi told ARA News.

The bombardment also caused a mass destruction to residential buildings in the town.

“Local rescue teams are still searching for victims under the ruble,” Dr Hassan Othman, a member of the medical team in Dwebik, told ARA News.

“Some of the injured who have been pulled from under the ruins were seriously injured. We appeal to the United Nations and NGOs to provide assistance. A medical support is urgently needed,” Dr Othman said.

Ahmed Arraj, a member of the Syrian Democratic Coalition in Afrin, told ARA News that Turkey and allied Islamist groups have been “purposively bombing civilians”.

“We all know that Turkey has a broad network of informers in the region, especially in ISIS-held areas. Thus, it’s not possible that they haven’t known about the presence of dozens of civilians in the targeted neighbourhood. There have been no injuries in ISIS’ ranks. All casualties were civilians,” Arraj said.

ISIS eases up on prayer requirements in Ninevah

(IraqiNews.com) Nineveh – Al Sumaria News reported on Sunday, that the Islamic State group (ISIS) decided to decrease Islamic ‘Salah’ (Obligatory Muslim ritual prayers) from five to three times per day, and threatened to flog anyone who violate the group’s terms and instructions.

The media outlet stated, “The ISIS issued a decree in Nineveh to lessen Muslim ritual prayers from five to three times per day, due to what it called a state of war, so prayers might be shortened or combined, and then informed all preachers and Imams to abide by this decree that covers all ISIS-controlled areas in Nineveh.”

“The ISIS threatened to flog the violators of the decree with 30 lashes,” Al Sumaria News added. “The terror group is issuing weird and unreasonable decrees due to its vulnerable state,” Al sumaria explained.

“This decree is considered the second of its type; ISIS issued a decree earlier to change Adhan time (call to prayer) because it considered these times as set by the government and do not represent Muslim countries,” Al Sumaria News stated.

Salah is one of the five pillars of Islam, and an obligatory religious duty and worship for every Muslim that is observed five times every day at prescribed times.

ISIS confiscates Iraqi currency

(IraqiNews.com) Nineveh – Iraqi media outlets reported on Monday that the Islamic State prohibited Iraqi Dinar currency from Mosul in order compel its people to adopt ISIS currency.

Al Sumaria News stated, “ISIS confiscated large quantities of the Iraqi Dinar currency from the people of Mosul, forcing them to exchange it with ISIS currency. ISIS gave the residents receipts with the amounts taken from them.”

“The so-called ISIS Sharia Court issued a fatwa prohibiting the Iraqi Dinar currency in markets in the city of Mosul,” Al Sumaria added.

The coffers of ISIS were adversely affected after Iraqi security forces liberated many areas and cities in Iraq.

ISIS executes 5 for desertion

[ARA News] Duhok – The Islamic State (ISIS) radical group has executed a number of its own militants on Monday for fleeing the battlefield in Iraq’s Anbar Governorate.

ISIS has executed at least five of its militant fighters In the Hīt city of Anbar, after accusing them of committing “high treason” for evacuating their positions during clashes with Iraqi army forces.

Raafat al-Zarari, head of the Nineveh media centre, told ARA News that the executed fighters had fled the battlefield in the western suburb of Ramadi.

“The militants were executed by firing squad at the hands of their fellow fighters,” al-Zarari reported. “The decision has been made by the ISIS leadership, and anyone violating the orders is being executed on charges of high treason.”

Dozens of ISIS members were demanded to witness the executions on Monday.

“More than 150 people watched the public executions, most of them were ISIS fighters and military leaders, as if the group wanted to warn its members that anyone who would escape the fighting would face a similar punishment,” Iraqi journalist Adeeb al-Jadi told ARA News.

Last Thursday, the Islamic State (ISIS) executed two other militants on charges of “high treason.” Activists and eyewitnesses reported that the executions took place on Thursday in Syria’s eastern Deir ez-Zor city.

ISIS detained two members of its Islamic Police, also known as Diwan al-Hisba, after they left their post without permission. Firas al-Ahmed, a local media activist, told ARA News: “They tried to escape Deir ez-Zor, but the group was able to arrest them near the southern exit of the city.”

An ISIS-controlled Sharia court decided to execute them. “The two Hisba members were executed by firing squad in the Sabha District,” al-Ahmed reported. He added that hundreds of people witnessed the execution.

In July, ISIS executed six of its own militants on charges of “treason,” after accusing them of leaking security information to the US-led coalition. Local sources told ARA News at the time that the executed men were members of the al-Hisba police in the city of Mosul, in Iraq’s northwestern Nineveh Governorate.

Abdullah al-Malla, a media activist, told ARA News in Mosul: “The ISIS leadership suspected that the al-Hisba members were leaking confidential information to the western coalition–whose airstrikes have recently killed top jihadi officials.”

“After interrogation, the Mosul Sharia Court issued a decision to publicly execute the six suspects,” al-Malla reported. “The six jihadists were beheaded in front of dozens of ISIS officials in central Mosul.”
