| Air raids in Tirah valley kill 7 suspected militants |

| PESHAWAR: Pakistan Air Force jets on Monday targeted hideouts of banned outfits, killing seven suspected militants in the airstrikes, security officials said. "Pakistan Air Force jets targeted militant hideouts in the Kokikhel area of Tirah valley, and at least seven militants were killed and several hideouts destroyed," said security officials. The details of the strikes could not be independently verified as access of media personnel is restricted in the region. Khyber Agency and North Waziristan are among Pakistan’s seven semi-autonomous tribal districts near the Afghan border, rife with homegrown insurgents and foreign militants. These areas have also been considered home to religious extremist organisations, including Al Qaeda and the Taliban. |
