Plenty of idiots out there for sure. Couple things:
Access - can people who should not be handling firearms able to get into your bag? And if so, is the firearm secured? Shifting is where my 10th glo-stick and 19th & 20th water pouch went to, and neither were against points or edges.
The Law - Your route may take you into another state, especially if you are a somewhat border town. At least be familiar with the laws of potential destinations and the route(s) there. You may find yourself in a situation where you could, justifiably, give a shit what the law is. As your situation stabilizes, you may find yourself in a situation the law gives a shit about you. Know so to make an informed decision.
Storage - make sure the firearm is kept in a way it does not load and/or fire on account of contents shifting around.
[SultanKnish] Tonight the celebration of the holiday of Purim begins. Purim is a Jewish holiday often neglected outside the more religious communities in America and the State of Israel because it commemorates an attempt to exterminate the Jews. And we all know that stopped being a problem long ago.
If Purim had culminated with some smart power diplomacy and a lesson on tolerance, liberal Jews might be more inclined to celebrate it. Unfortunately it ends with a genocidal madman being hung from a tree and the Jews fighting for their lives, winning and slaughtering their enemies.
And instead of feeling guilty about it, their descendants eat pastries, dress up in costumes and get drunk. At least those of their descendants who believe in survival instead of surrender.
Liberal Jews complain about the difference of values they have with Israeli Jews who insist on survival instead of surrender. They have an even bigger difference of values with the Jews of the Bible. And with Jews throughout history. Not to mention with the religion of the Jewish people.

Purim started the evening of March 23rd. (All Jewish holidays start at sunset, in line with Genesis, which says, "It was evening and it was morning, the first day."

[ARABNEWS] We are at war! This is how French Premier Manuel Valls described his feelings after the terrorist attacks in Brussels last week. By noontime it seemed that most European leaders and commentators had adopted his analysis by sticking the war label on the tragic event. However, some people cause happiness wherever they go; others whenever they go... saying that Europe is at war unleashes many questions. What kind of war and against whom?

If they answer the question, the immigrant thing would come to a halt and there would be MASS deportations...of course the empty suit would volunteer to take a few hundred thousand off their hands.

[NY Post] As New York moves to decriminalize low-level offenses, arguing enforcement is "rigged against communities of color," other large cities are coming under pressure from the Justice Department to do the same thing.
Attorney General Loretta Lynch has issued a warning to municipal and state judges across the country that their courts could lose federal funding if they don’t ease up on fines and arrest warrants for minor crimes involving poor offenders, indigent minorities in particular.
In lieu of fines and jail time, Lynch urges the nation’s 6,500 municipal courts to provide an avenue for offenders to perform "community service" or take advantage of "amnesty days," whereby outstanding arrest warrants are cleared for nominal fees.
Failure to comply with these policies could trigger a Ferguson-style discrimination investigation. Already, Lynch says she’s "evaluating discrimination complaints against several court systems."

Although it totally contradicts the Broken Windows policing model that turned New York from one giant crime scene into a livable city, I propose a Federal Crime Stamps program to help our poor offenders and indigent minorities cope with the criminal justice system.
In addition to allowing them to escape the consequences of their actions, this program would teach them about future time and delayed gratification as they decide whether to spend their monthly allotment on a bunch of pissant misdemeanors or save up for a big juicy felony.

The Left's version of justice is that everything is against the law. Whether or not you are prosecuted depends on how well you pay obeisance to the system and the ruling party.
In this way, your rights matter for nothing. Anyone and everyone can be prosecuted at any time, just for pissing off the wrong people.

Isn't that what we have now, #5 Iblis? :-(

I'm all for having people do work for the state instead of jail time for misdemeanors as punishment. Having to clean up a road in hot pink suits all day in the sun is a good way to work off an infraction.
[Telegraph] In an exclusive article for The Telegraph, the top US general and former CIA chief David Petraeus urges voters to stay in the European Union in the referendum"
"For the past century, British and American forces have fought together on numerous occasions in defense of our shared security and freedom. Together, our men and women in uniform turned back the tide of Nazi fascism that threatened human civilization and then stood united as allies in the long twilight struggle against the Soviet Union and communism. Today, British and American forces are once again together on the frontlines, this time in the fight against ISIS and al Qaeda, working to stop terrorists before they can strike us at home."
"I had the privilege of serving in uniform with British forces in Cold War Europe, Bosnia, Iraq, Afghanistan, and the greater Middle East. I considered our British comrades to rank with the finest men and women of any armed service in the world. And I know that my fellow American soldiers -- and those of the other coalition countries under my command -- valued very highly the professional expertise, capability, courage, and determination of our British partners on the battlefield."

Them thralls need to be kept in line. Hey David, the American colonies leaving the Commonwealth would weaken the United Kingdom too (see - ship supplies, vital to Royal Navy, fighting piracy, el al).

A most interesting question, tw. One can only speculate that someone very important to GenPet's future suggested he do it.
For Britain, leaving the EU would mean they can act in their national interest in matters like border controls, instead of suffering the mush-headed whims of their Continental betters.

UK should be leading the Commonwealth. Let Germ/France lead Europe.
All should push for Eastern Block to form their own Alliance/Union. One that won't provoke the Russians by its existences in the way NATO expansion did.
