Muslim Brotherhood Leaders Jailed For Insulting Court A Day After Mubarak Verdict
[Ynet] An Egyptian judge sentenced the leader of the outlawed Moslem Brüderbund and 25 others on Sunday to three years in jail for insulting the court, a day after charges were dropped against ousted president Hosni Mubarak
...The former President-for-Life of Egypt, dumped by popular demand in early 2011...
over the killing of protesters.

The Brotherhood's general guide, Mohammed Badie, is among hundreds of the group's members who have already received death sentences and lengthy jail terms in mass trials criticized by Western governments and human rights
...which are usually open to widely divergent definitions...
groups.

Coming on top of those verdicts, Sunday's ruling was made during the trial of more than 100 Brotherhood supporters on charges related to the storming of prisons during the popular uprising that ousted Mubarak in 2011.

The judge, Shaaban al-Shamy, decided to punish the defendants after a number of them began chanting "void, void" in response to some of his remarks.

One Person Killed as Egypt Police and Anti-Mubarak Protesters Clash
[AnNahar] One person was killed in festivities between Egyptian police and protesters in central Cairo on Saturday after a court dropped a murder case against ousted strongman Hosni Mubarak
...The former President-for-Life of Egypt, dumped by popular demand in early 2011...
, officials said.

More than 1,000 protesters had converged on Tahrir Square in Cairo after the verdict earlier in the day. Police initially fired tear gas and water cannon to disperse them.

The dead man had been shot, either with live ammunition or birdshot. "He had been maimed in the festivities," a health ministry official told Agence La Belle France Presse.

Earlier in the day, a court had thrown out murder charges against Mubarak and acquitted his police commanders of involvement in the deaths of protesters during the early 2011 revolt that unseated the veteran strongman.

French Commando Dies in Helicopter Accident in Burkina Faso
[AnNahar] A French special forces commando has died in Burkina Faso
...The country in west Africa that they put where Upper Volta used to be. Its capital is Oogadooga, or something like that. Its president is currently Blaise Compaoré, who took office in 1987 and will leave office feet first, one way or the other...
during what the French defense ministry said was a training flight in the politically volatile African nation.

The ministry identified the man as a 38-year-old army master sergeant, Samir Bajja, and said he was on board a Caracal tactical troop transport helicopter that crashed Saturday night. Two members of the crew were seriously hurt.

La Belle France has played a role in calming a political crisis that erupted late October in Burkina Faso -- a former French colony -- when mass street demonstrations toppled president Blaise Compaore.

French President Francois Hollande

has acknowledged that his country ensured Compaore's evacuation to neighboring Ivory Coast.

French forces are also conducting an "anti-terrorist" operation in the region, based out of Chad.

5 Wounded in South Yemen Independence Protest
[AnNahar] Five protesters were maimed as Yemeni police stopped southern separatists from marching towards the governorate building in the south's main city of Aden on Sunday, activists and medics said.

The clash came as tens of thousands of people rallied to demand independence at a time when Shiite bully boyz from the north are expanding their control over the impoverished country.

The southerners were marking the 47th anniversary of the end of British colonial rule in 1967, which created an independent state that lasted until union with the north in 1990.

"Police opened heavy fire with live rounds and tear gas to disperse us as we tried to advance towards the governorate building to raise the flag of (the former) South Yemen," an activist of the separatist Southern Movement said.

He revised an earlier casualty toll of one dead and four maimed, saying one demonstrator was badly hurt among the five maimed. Hospital sources confirmed the figures.

Many others suffered breathing difficulties after inhaling tear gas, said Radfan al-Dubais, a front man for the protesters.

The Southern Movement which called the protest is campaigning for autonomy or outright secession for the previously independent south.

Waving the flag of what used to be South Yemen, protesters who poured into Aden from neighboring southern provinces vowed not to let up until they achieve independence.

"We will not back down until we achieve victory -- liberation and independence," read banners at a square in Aden, where secessionists have been camped out since October 14.

Sunday's rally showed the "rejection of the people of the south of all projects and initiatives that do not fulfil their legitimate right to freedom, illusory sovereignty, and independence," a hardline Southern Movement leader, Hassan Baum, told supporters.

Yemen is reeling under the impact of expansion by Shiite bully boyz who overran the capital in September and seized a major port unopposed, before clashing with Sunni tribes and Al-Qaeda snuffies south of Sanaa.

The southern separatists, as well as the Shiites from the north, have rejected plans unveiled in February for Yemen to become a six-region federation, including two in the south.

Qaida Rocket Attack Kills 3 Yemeni Troops
[AnNahar] Al-Qaeda Lions of Islam have killed three soldiers with a rocket in Yemen's eastern province of Hadramawt, a security official said on Sunday.

Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula
...the latest incarnation of various Qaeda and Qaeda-allied groups, including the now-defunct Aden-Abyan Islamic Army that boomed the USS Cole in 2000...
(AQAP) confirmed on Twitter it "targeted an army vehicle... heading from Shibam to Seyun in Hadramawt, destroying it and killing the three soldiers on board".

The attack using rocket-propelled grenades took place late on Saturday, the security official said.

Al-Qaeda is active in southern and eastern Yemen, especially in Hadramawt where the authority of the central government is weak.

AQAP, seen by the United States as the Lion of Islam network's deadliest branch, killed 20 soldiers in an attack in Hadramawt last month.

Yemen is a key U.S. ally in the fight against Al-Qaeda, allowing Washington to conduct a longstanding drone war against the group on its territory.

AQAP was born out of a 2009 merger between its franchises in Al-Qaeda founder the late Osama bin Laden
... who is now among the dear departed, though not among the dearest...
's native Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
and his ancestral homeland in Yemen.

The group has exploited instability in the impoverished country since a 2011 uprising forced president President-for-Life Ali Abdullah Saleh

The clock 23:23 on Sunday evening was alerted police to the judicial center in Malmö. Witnesses had seen unknown perpetrators place anything at the district court's entry.

- A witness saw two people standing at the entrance and get involved with something, says Mats Thimgren, internal command Malmö police.

Minutes later exploded entrance.

- It is a powerful explosion with considerable material damage, says Stephan Söderholm, information officer at Skåne police.
"The house damaged"

On the site lies shattered glass scattered over 100 meters from the detonation. The blast shattered glass and pressed glass in buildings at several locations in the neighborhood. Witnesses tell us that the bang heard several kilometers away.

A witness who lives two blocks from the explosion said that the explosion had the house to vibrate.

- The whole house shook. Although I have done shabby and exploded grenades, I'm way too overexcited, said the witness told Aftonbladet.

Elina Lindholm, 24, lives in the house right next to the district court. Where have all the windows facing the explosion broke.
Got cuts

- The bang was very high and the first thing we did was to run out to see what had happened. Then we see lot of cops everywhere, she says.

- It is very scary that it happens so close to where we live. Someone could easily have been injured or die.

During the night the police were working to get an overview of the effects of detonation.

At least one person got cut injuries when a balcony door was pressed into the apartment, but otherwise there are no known injuries.
Police hunting in the night

The material damage is all the more.

- Blast wave caused the windows in private homes pushed inwards, says Stephan Söderholm.

A large area was cordoned off by the powerful explosion and police bomb technicians searched the outset of the area in search of more explosive. Accommodation in the area were invited through local radio to stay indoors during the work.

At 1:30 in the night police said that they have not found more dangerous objects.
Previous attacks

During the night, the police chased the unknown perpetrators, but they are still at large.

Police say they have no knowledge of any threat towards the district court that may be linked to the bombing.

Rättscentrum subjected to a bombing also the night of February 3 this year. Neither the time were injured someone, but the explosion caused material damage to the facade at the entrance to the district court, writes TT.

Lars Performed Tell, Information Officer at Skåne police say it is clear that the target of the bombing was the district court.

Police believe that the act may be an act of revenge by criminal groups.

- We can not rule it out. When we are offensive against the criminal world, we have seen that it can provide this type of reactions. We have successes in terms of the work, it like they do not, says Lars Performed Tell.

Man killed in 'sectarian' attack
[DAWN] KARACHI: A young man was shot dead in Korangi in a suspected sectarian attack that left his friend wounded on Saturday, police and party sources said.

They added armed motorcyclists gunned down 35-year-old Kamran Zaidi when he was busy in regular business at his mobile accessories shop in Korangi 3½.

âIt is a busy area called Furniture Market,â said SHO of Korangi police station Inspector Zahid Soomro.

âWitnesses said that they saw two men pull up outside the shop, one of them got off the two-wheeler and fired shots at Kamran.â

The firing left him and another young man identified as 27-year-old Zeeshan Shakir wounded. They were taken to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC), but Kamran died on the way to hospital. Zeeshan was being treated at the hospital and said to be out of danger, the police added.

âThe victim was a resident of the same area and was not associated with any political party, but his killing seemed to be linked with the recent wave of armed attacks on sectarian grounds,â said the Korangi SHO.

A spokesman for the Majlis Wahdat-i-Muslimeen (MWM) condemned the killing of Kamran and described it as a failure on the part of the government to provide security to people despite assurances to them.

Woman found dead in apartment

In Korangi Industrial Area, a woman was found strangled to death in an apartment, the police said.

They added that the woman appeared to have died at least three days ago.

An official said the body was recovered after neighbours contacted the police complaining of a strong smell coming from the apartment.

The police broke the door open of the apartment and found the womanâs body, whose hands and legs were tied with ropes.

âThe residential building is called Usman Heights,â he said.

âThe victim has been identified as 55-year-old Bint-i-Zahra. She lived alone and was not in contact with any of her neighbours. The evidence suggests that it was not an act of suicide. The semi-decomposed body led us to conclude that she had been strangled to death at least three days ago. So far no one has approached the police as a relative or a family member of the victim.â

Al-Arsali added, "It is the first time for such acts to occur in the party's ranks, which sparked concern and surprise among its leaders," adding that there is information confirming that the returnees from Hezbollah fighters were among the forces deployed in the rural areas of Damascus--and, there are now other fighters prepared to leave after being fed up with the party's failure to meet its commitments.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
Cabinet Authorizes Purchase Of 14 F-35 Fighter Jets
[IsraelTimes] The Israeli cabinet authorized on Sunday the immediate purchase of 14 F-35A Lightning II fighter jets with the option of ordering 17 more in 2017.

The deal, which will cost upwards of $3 billion, was agreed by the US and Israel defense chiefs in late October, but required the ministers' approval.

Sunday's decision approves the purchase of 14 additional aircraft, with an option for 17, and will see a total of up to 50 F-35 warplanes procured by the IDF in the coming years.

Israel already ordered a first squadron of 19 F-35s in 2010 with a price-tag of $2.7 billion, funded by American military aid rebates.

The first planes are expected to arrive in Israel in December 2016.

Of the 14 aircraft whose purchase was approved Sunday, 13 are slated to become operational and one will be utilized for experimental purposes.

A decision to purchase the final 17 planes will require further rounds of cabinet debate.

Sunday's decision overcame stiff opposition from Strategic Affairs Minister Yuval Steinitz, who claimed that the money could be put to better use and questioned the reliability of the F-35 weapons program, which has been bogged down by manufacturing glitches and other setbacks.

"Billions of shekels are being spent on this plane. It will impede and prevent us from strengthening our [overall defense capabilities] in the coming years," Steinitz told the website Israel Defense on Sunday.

"It will leave little room for us to purchase [other military equipment] such as APCs and more" he said, alluding to widespread criticism after seven Golani soldiers were killed when their outmoded APC was hit by an anti-tank missile in Gazoo during Operation Cast Lead in July.

Steinitz was not alone in casting doubt on the deal, which would consume nearly all of Israel's $3 billion annual US aid package. Agriculture Minister Yair Shamir, a former junior general in the air force, and Finance Minister Yair Lapid also reportedly spoke out against deal.

Lapid has called in the past for belt-tightening in the military as part of larger national austerity measures.

Among the arguments against the deal is that a multitude of enemy rockets that could target Israel's airfields means the country shouldn't rely too heavily on its combat aircraft.

Although the deal was lauded by Israel's Air Force, officials in the Defense Ministry argued that 33 F-35 aircraft alone will not suffice to enable Israel to maintain air superiority across the Middle East and face the growing challenges entailed in a nuclear Iran, Yedioth Ahronoth reported.

Defense minister Moshe Ya'alon and Israeli Air Force Commander Amir Eshel both pushed for a contract to purchase the full set of 50 aircraft, enabling the IAF to field two operational F-35 squadrons of 24 planes apiece.

A senior officer in the IDF ground forces told Channel 2 in 2013 that with the money slated for the F-35s, the Defense Ministry could have bought 600 new tanks or hundreds of Iron Dome and Arrow interceptors, or generally used the funds to upgrade the entire ground force.

, who plans to visit Leb on Saturday.

The lawyer in his complaint requested to arrest al-Maliki on charges of participating in the bombing of Iraq's embassy in Beirut in 1981.

The news agency 'Anatolia' quoted the source, who requested anonymity, "Today, before the Discriminatory Public Prosecutor in Beirut, the lawyer Tariq Handb filed a criminal complaint against al-Maliki, calling the Lebanese authorities to arrest him."

The source explained that the complaint came after accusing al-Maliki of participating in the bombing of the Iraqi Embassy in Beirut in 1981, which led to 60 deaths. It also included a claim for his detention.

Last August, the families of the Iraqi victims demanded the Lebanese authorities to investigate the incident.

In December 15, 1981, the Iraqi Embassy in Beirut was blown up by a jacket wallah that broke in, resulting in more than 60 deaths to and dozens maimed.

At least 50 ISIS fighters killed in Syria's Kobane
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] At least 50 Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) group jihadists have been killed in the past 24 hours in festivities, suicide kabooms and U.S.-led air strikes in Syria's Kobane, Agence La Belle France-Presse reported a monitor as saying Sunday.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights described number of deaths as one of the highest daily tolls for the Sunni Moslem Death Eater group since it launched an assault on the strategic town on the Turkish border in September.

Meanwhile,
...back at the revival hall, Buford bit the snake and Eloise began speaking in tongues...
a U.S.-led coalition on Saturday carried out at least 30 air strikes in Syria against ISIS in the northern province of Raqqa, the Observatory reported.

The air strikes hit ISIS positions in the northern outskirts of Raqqa city, a major stronghold of the hardline Islamist murderous Moslems.

The areas hit by the strikes included the 17th Division, a Syrian army base that ISIS seized in July, the Observatory said.

Fighting in Aleppo
In a related story, fighting between rebels and government's forces continued in Aleppo, Syria's second city and former industrial powerhouse.

A Syrian woman and her three sons were killed overnight by rebel fire in the government-held side of Aleppo, the Observatory reported.

The woman and her children were killed when a homemade rocket fired from the rebel-held east of the city hit their home around midnight in the Ashrafiyeh district.

The Britannia-based monitor said rebels were firing homemade bombs often using gas canisters that were even more damaging than regular mortar fire.

Aleppo has been divided between rebel control in the east and regime control in the west since shortly after fighting began there in mid-2012.

Since the end of 2013, the Syrian air force has regularly dropped explosive-packed "barrel bombs," which rights groups criticize as particularly indiscriminate, on the rebel east and surrounding province.

The barrel kabooms have killed several thousand people in Aleppo province, according to the Observatory.

In recent months, rebels have intensified their mortar attacks on the government-held west of the city, killing nearly 300 people in four months, the group said.

Canada, Israel Studying Reports Dual Citizen Held By Islamic State
[IsraelTimes] Canada and Israel said Sunday that they were aware of reports that a Canadian-Israeli woman may have been kidnapped in Syria, amid suggestions it could be Gill Rosenberg, who traveled to Iran and Syria to fight the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. group.

The US-based monitoring group SITE said Islamic State jihadists claimed a woman described as a "female Zionist soldier" had been captured in the embattled Syrian border town.

Some jihadists said the woman might be Rosenberg, a Canadian-Israeli dual national who had served in the Israel Defense Forces and volunteered to fight with the Kurds, the monitoring group said.

"The Government of Canada is aware of reports that a Canadian citizen was kidnapped in Syria," a Foreign Ministry statement said. "Canada is pursuing all appropriate channels to seek further information and officials are in close contact with local authorities."

The ministry added that it would not "comment or release any information which may compromise ongoing efforts and risks endangering the safety of Canadian citizens abroad."

Israeli Foreign Ministry front man Emmanuel Nachshon said that the ministry was "watching with interest the various reports about the abduction of an Israeli woman by the Islamic State, and is try to obtain more information on the matter."

SITE said jihadists were discussing on the Internet whether the woman should be executed or traded for Moslem prisoners.

Hebrew media reported Sunday that the Israeli woman, who traveled to fight alongside the Kurds in Iraq and Syria earlier this month, may have been kidnapped by Islamic State fighters, citing Syrian jihadist-linked media.

Rosenberg, 31, was captured by jihadists near the flashpoint city of Kobani in the past few days, reports said. The Canada native was taken after the jihadists launched three suicide kabooms in the area, and her condition is unknown.

The reports, which were not initially confirmed by the Islamic State group, were published on the Samoach al-Islam blog, which largely operates as a mouthpiece for the terror group, as well as by Islamic State activists on Twitter.

Two Kurdish fighters quoted by Israel Radio cast doubt on the reports. One, an American fighter, said Rosenberg was never in Kobani. Another soldier on the ground said that he had heard nothing of her alleged abduction.

In her last Facebook post to date, Rosenberg wrote on November 20 that someone would be managing her profile for two weeks, and asked that people not message her "as this is not me."

IS launched an attack Saturday on the Syrian border town of Kobani from Turkey, a Kurdish official and activists said, although Turkey denied that the fighters had used its territory for the raid.

The assault began when a jacket wallah driving an armored vehicle detonated an bomb on the border crossing between Kobani and Turkey, said the Britannia-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights and Nawaf Khalil, a front man for Syria's powerful Kurdish Democratic Union Party.

The Islamic State group "used to attack the town from three sides," Khalil said. "Today, they are attacking from four sides."

The Islamic State group claimed three suicide kabooms in Kobani's border crossing point, the SITE Intelligence Group reported. The group, quoting Twitter accounts linked to the myrmidons, said the suicide attacks were carried out by a Saudi and a Turkmen, adding that one of them was driving a Humvee.

The first foreign woman to join the Kurdish forces, Rosenberg set out from her home in Tel Aviv on November 2, stopping in Amman before flying to Erbil, the capital of the autonomous Kurdistan Region of Iraq.

Rosenberg told Israel Radio that she wanted to do her part for the Kurdish national struggle, and that she was hopeful her experience in the Israel Defense Forces would be useful to the Kurds.

According to Rosenberg's Facebook page, she served in the IDF's Home Front Command.

Rosenberg has posted pictures of herself in mountains of Iraq and Syrian Kurdistan.

"In the IDF, we say Aharai ‐ After Me. Let's show ISIS what that means," she wrote, using an alternate acronym for Islamic State.

In 2009, Rosenberg was incarcerated
I ain't sayin' nuttin' widdout me mout'piece!
in a joint Israeli police and FBI operation on suspicion that she had been part of a ring that cheated elderly American citizens out of their money by posing as lottery officials and convincing the unsuspecting seniors to pay for fictive services, according to the Walla news site. The members of the ring, which included 11 other Israeli citizens aside from Rosenberg, were said to have stolen up to $25 million.

Rosenberg was later convicted of the crime and sentenced to four years in a US prison, though her term was eventually shortened and she was deported to Israel instead, Channel 10 reported.

The Islamic State group began its Kobani offensive in mid-September, capturing parts of the town as well as dozens of nearby villages. The town later became the focus of Arclight airstrikes by the US-led coalition against the myrmidons.

Kurdish fighters slowly have been advancing in Kobani since late October, when dozens of well-armed Iraqi peshmerga fighters joined fellow Syrian Kurds in the battles. The fighting has killed hundreds of fighters on both sides over the past two months.

If confirmed, Rosenberg would be the second Israeli captive held by the jihadist group. Israeli-American journalist Steven Sotloff was beheaded by the Islamic State group in early September. Sotloff went missing in Syria in August 2013, and the jihadists were reportedly unaware of his Jewish heritage and Israeli citizenship until after his death.
Update from The Times of Israel at 3:50 a.m. ET:
Doubts surfaced Monday over reports that a Canadian-Israeli woman had been kidnapped by the Islamic State terrorist group near the Syrian-Turkish border.

Kurdish sources told the NRG news site that they were aware of the "wave of rumors" that IS had captured an Israeli citizen in Kobani, presumably Gill Rosenberg, an IDF veteran who had traveled to Iraq to fight for the Kurdish YPG militia.

"This is false propaganda by IS," the Kurdish sources said. "We can say with a high level of certainty that no Israeli volunteer, or any international volunteer for that matter, arrived to fight in the city of Kobani in Syria."

They said she is meant to be training in the Kandil mountains in Iraqi Kurdistan, along with other international volunteers.

In addition, they said, international volunteers are not placed in combat roles, but instead support the front-line fighters.

Assailants throw acid in face of Iranian hospital manager
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Two attackers on a cycle of violence threw acid in the face of a Tehran hospital manager, police said Sunday, the latest in a string of such attacks that have mostly targeted women.

In a statement posted on its website, the police said Dr. Siamand Anvari, head of Ziaian hospital, was attacked late Saturday while on his way back home and was later rushed to a hospital. Mahmoud Jabbarvand, one of the medics who treated him, was quoted by the semiofficial ISNA news agency as saying he would not lose his vision and would be discharged in the coming days.

At least four women were attacked with acid in the central city of Isfahan in October, prompting protests. It was not immediately clear if the attack in Tehran was related to those in Isfahan.

An ongoing investigation into the Isfahan attacks suggests the attacks were carried out by the same individual. Police have placed in durance vile
Please don't kill me!
four suspects in the case but say the attacker has not yet been identified.

Local media have suggested the women were targeted because they failed to adhere to the country's conservative dress code. Iranian women must cover themselves in public and wear headscarves. But Iran's police chief Gen. Ismail Ahmadi Moghaddam has dismissed the idea that the women were attacked because of the way they dressed.

Iran's judiciary has vowed an "exemplary punishment" once the attacker is convicted. Gholamhossein Mohseni Ejehei, Iran's deputy judiciary chief, has said the culprits should receive the "most serious punishment" ‐ apparently referring to the death penalty.

U.S.-Led Strikes Hit Islamic State 'Capital'
[AnNahar] A wave of U.S.-led air strikes have struck at least 30 targets around the Syrian city of Raqa, the self-proclaimed capital of the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. group, a monitor said Sunday.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said the strikes took place before midnight Saturday and hit 30 targets on the northern outskirts of Raqa.

They also hit Division 17, a Syrian army base the jihadist group captured earlier this year.

Observatory director Rami Abdel Rahman said the strikes had caused casualties but there was no immediate toll.

"The strikes hit IS positions, and there are certainly casualties among their forces," he said.

The waves of hits was one of the larger actions carried out by the coalition, Abdel Rahman added.

"We can't say it's the largest set of raids they have carried out, but it's been a long time since we've seen this number of targets hit," he said.

The U.S.-led coalition began carrying out air strikes against the Islamic State group on September 23.

The strikes have killed at least 963 people, including 838 IS jihadists and 72 members of al-Qaeda's Syrian affiliate Al-Nusra
...the current nom de guerre of al-Qaeda in the Levant, which isn't to be confused with al-Qaeda in Iraq and the Levant...
Front.

Another 52 civilians have also been killed, along with one Islamist rebel, according to the Observatory.

Syria's regime has also continued to hit IS in Raqa, though its raids have regularly killed large numbers of civilians.

The Observatory said regime planes carried out one strike in Raqa on Saturday that killed at least seven civilians.

And on Wednesday, regime raids on Raqa killed at least 95 people, over half of them civilians, the monitoring group said.

Army Dismantles Explosive on Outskirts of Arsal
[AnNahar] The army dismantled on Saturday an bomb and an anti-tank mine on the outskirts of the northeastern border town of Arsal, it announced in a statement.

The bomb was placed on the side of a dirt road that the army frequently uses in its patrols, reported LBCI television.

The device contained 20 kilograms of explosives, added the army communique.

It was discovered as the military was searching a number of roads on the outskirts of Arsal.

The army also unearthed an anti-tank mine in the area.

The bomb and the mine were both prepared to be remotely detonated.

In March, the army was the victim of a suicide kaboom that targeted its checkpoint in Arsal.

Three troops were martyred and four others were maimed in the attack.

In August, the army engaged in festivities in Arsal with Islamist gunnies from Syria who had overran the town.
