[BALTIMORE.CBSLOCAL] As Marylanders go to the polls, there are concerns that the vote you cast may not be for the candidate you want.
âWeâve heard from scores of citizens in our district and around the state who have had this problem where they hit one button to vote for one person, and when they go to the summary they see that the other person was checked,â said Del Nik Kipke, (R) Anne Arundel County.
Republicans say theyâve received several dozen reports of Republican votes being changed to Democrat.
Del. Kathy Szeliga says it happened to her.
âI kept pushing the Republican guyâs name and the machine kept going beep, beep, beep,â said Szeliga, (R) Baltimore & Harford Co.
Now GOP leaders are calling for an investigation.
But the State Board of Elections tells WJZ they received less than 20 reports of calibration issues with machines.
Twelve have been thoroughly testedâ and the problem could not be replicated.
The others are out of service.
Democratic candidate Anthony Brown says heâs confident the board will address all issues.
âI think we should always be vigilant to make sure that voters can cast a ballot and that itâs accurately recorded,â said Lt. Gov. Anthony Brown, (D) Maryland.
In a statement to WJZ, board officials say âelection officials receive similar reports in every election. Post-election analysis has shown that this is caused by voter error. Voters with large fingers or long nails or voters who hold the touchscreen with their palm resting on the screen seem to report this issue more frequently.â
The State Board of Election advises voters to find an election judge immediately if they have any problem with the machines.
Members of the state Republican Party are calling for the state Democratic Party to join them in calling for an investigation into the machines.

I guess the 'calibration error' only moves to the left....
[Breitbart] Tuesday on "CBS This Morning," Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) blamed Republicans for the Ebola outbreak in West Africa by suggesting funding cuts to certain programs were the culprit.
"Instead of making those investments up front, we wait until people die," Warren said. "Of course I'm worried, but part of this reminds me -- this is why elections matter and why they matter over time. you know, Ebola is not new. We've known about it for a long time. We were putting money into funding Ebola many years ago and the republicans have cut funding overall for medical research, for the National Institute of Health, and Ebola has not been a priority. So now we're in a position where instead of making those investments up front, we wait until people die. Now we're going to spend billions of dollars. and some real risk to our country. We can't just run this country one crisis to another. What congress is supposed to do is help us make the investments early and make sure that it keeps us all safe."

-- What a crock of BS.
-- I was intrigued when I learned that a Canadian manufacturer of a possible Ebola vaccine asked, back in March, about doing vaccine testing in the Hot Zone, and was turned down by whatever competent authority it was dealing with. Said competent authority responded by saying the outbreak would be over before anything much could be learned about the usefulness of the proposed vaccine. Now they're getting ready to test it. Six months wasted due to professional over-confidence.

NIH’s overall budget grew modestly over the first half of the last decade -- from $28 billion in 2004 to about $30.5 billion in 2009. Then, it slipped down to about $29.3 billion in 2013.
The portion of that funding that goes toward the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, which researches Ebola vaccines, followed a similar pattern -- from $4.3 billion in 2004, to $4.7 billion in 2009, and then back down to $4.3 billion in 2013.
These numbers do not take into account inflation, or rising costs and needs. The NIH budget grew nearly every year up until to 2009. (Between 1994 and 2004, there were some years the budget grew by almost $3 billion.)
Remind me again how long it's been that the Democrats have been in control. what is it, 8 1/2 years now? So funding grew under Bush, then started down during Obama's watch. Yup, it's the Republicans fault.

Lookee who's been on the TV warpath a whole lot recently!
It's got nothing to do with her 2016 ambitions, does it?

Elizabeth Warren neglected to thank Vice President Dick Cheney for appropriating funds, inatiating research and pushing through legislation that led to development of vaccines we use today to fight Ebola.
In FY 2000, the USG sponsored $840,000 in research to fight Ebola. By 2013 these supporting grants totaled $42.5M. That would be an increase of 4,959% over 13 years for an average increase of 135% or so per Fiscal Year. When the legislation authorizing this expanded effort was signed, then-President George W. Bush had the following to say.
"I want to thank the vice president for his hard work," Bush said during remarks in the Rose Garden. "He was the point man in the White House on this piece of legislation and did excellent work."
1. The Republicans are responsible for ebola? As you recall, Reagan was accused of promoting AIDS.
2. State Senator Vincent Shaheen, told cheering fans of his opponent, sitting Republican governor Nikki Haley, "We are going to escort whore out the door." That is a new low.
What else can be expected from blue state candidates? These two items seem like the most egregious in campaigns where there is much egregiousness.

Republicans responsible for Ebola is all about making sure people don't mentally remember the Democrats blew this one. Similar to blaming Reagan in the 80s left a lot of people certain he was injecting Aids into gay folks in his spare time.
You know that this crowd can't hold a candle to what previous administrations have done. Remember GWB's remarkable efforts to battle AIDS in Africa? I wonder what the current administration has done in that regard.
As far as Warren goes, she just says whatever would get her current audience going. Neither facts nor consistency have anything to do with it. She's a cynical opportunist, in it for herself alone.
"Like rabid dogs in a butcher shop, Republicans have indiscriminately shredded everything in their path, including critical programs that could have dealt with the Ebola crisis before it reached our country."
Mexican authorities in the troubled southern state of Guerrero are searching yet another mass grave in the hope of finding out what happened to the 43 college students who have been missing since late September. Based on statements from four people arrested Monday, authorities came upon the new location in Cocula, a town about 10 miles from where the students last were seen.
Testing still needs to be done to determine if the new site has the missing students' remains.
The discovery of the latest mass grave brings the total number of clandestine burial sites up to 12 around the hills of Pueblo Viejo in the municipality of Iguala, leading many observers to reflect on the long history of institutional violence and corruption that has plagued Guerrero.
For decades, Guerrero has served as a main conduit for drugs moving north into the United States – thanks in part to its access to the Pacific Coast and its overall sparse population – and with it a deep-seated culture of corruption has emerged in the state’s local political offices and police forces. Arrest warrants have been issued for the missing Iguala Mayor José Luís Abarca and his wife, María de los Angeles Piñeda.
Protesters last week burned down Iguala’s city hall and Guerrero Gov. Angel Aguirre stepped down under heavy criticism of the state's handling of the case and its political support of Abarca.
“These people were middle class, they were educated kids and people in Mexico City can relate to them,” said Adam Isacson, a senior associate for Regional Security Policy at the Washington Office on Latin America. “When two drug gangs kill each other, sometimes with dozens of people dead, nobody, not even government officials, care because they say they’re criminals.”
Upon further review and in light of new evidence we find it funny, however sick. An obscure law on migratory duck hunting with nerf guns applies: no blood, no fowl.

Lemme' see - the Dems loose in '14, the 'Pubs totally "screw the pooch" for 2 years (mostly lousy PR), and the Dems take the whole veggie burger in '16.
Then, as so recently said by a Marine General, "Katie bar the door."

[Iran Press TV] Texas Governor Rick Perry, a potential Republican candidate for president in 2016, says the United States wants a "clean break" from incumbent President Barack Obama My friends, we live in the greatest nation in the history of the world. I hope you'll join with me as we try to change it... "Thinking on the next two years, I doubt very much that after this season of disappointment, mediocrity, decline, a slow correction in course is what voters are going to be looking for," Perry said in Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party, on Monday, Politico reported.
"I believe that come 2016, if the American people are given the choice, they will be ready for a clean break from the Obama agenda or anything like it," he claimed.

More a break from OWG-NWO "Globalism" than the Bammer.
As said before, mainstream Americans = Amerikans should expect the drive to [forcibly?] organize + suborn the US-World to OWG-NWO + [Continent-based] Global Fed Unions to continue even after the Bammer leaves office in Jan 2017.
Thus far on the problematic EU + African Union has been set up - iff the Bammer's POTUS successor come Jan 2017 is another GLOBALIST, then expect the US to suffer more, + WORSE/DEEPER, Foreign Policy + Econ failures + National morass, UNITL SUCH TIME OWG-NWO + GLOBAL UNION IS POTENTLY + IRREVOCABLY IN PLACE.
"GLOBAL SOCIALISM" IS A GIVEN - THE REAL QUESTION IS WHETHER SAIDSAME GLOBAL SOCIALISM WILL BE SECULAR OR NON-SECULAR, DEMOCRATIC OR NON-DEMOCRATIC.
SECULAR SOCIALIST, VERSUS GLOBAL ISLAMIST???
Lest we fergit, the US-Western Lefts + Globies, etc. are wilfully helping the Islamic World to MODERNIZE-N-NUCLEARIZE in the name of empowering + entrenching OWG Global Socialism + Global Socialist Order, I.E. HELPING TO MAKE MILPOL + ECON STRONGER THAT WHICH COULD POTENTIALLY ONE DAY TURN ON THE US-WEST + DESTROY IT.
The rise to Power, Control or Dominance, can make very-strange-n-very-dangerous bedfellows.
OWG-NWO or no OWG-NWO, Globalism or no Globalism, etc. the "Great Game" never ends.

[WWW3.BLOGS.ROLLCALL] Harry Reid's ... the charismatic senator-for-life from Nevada, currently majority leader ... caucus is running from him on the campaign trail, but that doesn't mean a revolt is in the works -- yet. Not until they don't have to worry about choosing a majority leader.
The majority leader has twisted the Senate into a pretzel all year to protect his vulnerable members, but the Nevada Democrat is now facing skepticism on the campaign trail from some of those same Democrats, as well as from some would-be newcomers.

There is a fair or greater chance he will be knocked out of the Senate Majority Leader position soon. That will be a great day for the U.S.--a great day for freedom from another political hack and detriment to the freedom of this great country. He is the worst and corrupt Senate Majority Leader in my recollection.
[CNN] Ann Romney, the wife of former GOP presidential nominee Willard Mitt Romney ...former governor of Massachussetts, the Publican nominee for president in 2012. He is the son of the former governor of Michigan, George Romney, who himself ran for president after saving American Motors from failure, though not permanently. Romney has a record as a successful businessman, heading Bain Capital, and he rescued the 2002 Winter Olympics from the midst of bribery and mismanagement scandals.... , condemned South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley ...first woman to serve as Governor of South Carolina, and the second Indian-American governor in the country, after Bobby Jindal of Louisiana. At the age of 39, Haley is the youngest current governor in the U.S., a distinction formerly held by Jindal. She is a Republican, which really grates on the Dems... 's Democratic challenger after he mistakenly called her a "whore" -- and then chuckled.

It's been a bad week for Democrats. With many close races seemingly slipping from their grasp, many have become desperate. Disparaging comments about their opponents have become increasingly rampant.
The MSM in the meantime has been doing it's best to tamp down or simply ignore the most flagrant offenses.
The so-called "inadvertent" (Freudian?) slip of the tongue by Vincent Sheheen, that Mrs. Romney was upset about, to seems to have mysteriously evaporated from CNN's web page.
I believe this is the incident Mrs. Romney was referring to:
[POLITICO] The political environment continues to deteriorate for House Democrats ahead of a midterm election thatâs certain to diminish their ranks. With President Barack Obamaâs unpopularity hindering their candidates and Republican cash flooding into races across the country, Democrats are increasingly worried that the election will push them deep into the minority and diminish their hopes of winning back the majority in 2016 or beyond. And the solution isn't to change what they're doing. Instead they'll keep saying the same things, only louder.

Wouldn't it be nice if all the Democratic incumbents were defeated?

We are largely a Republican part of the country. We had two Democratic county judges who had been office for many years and by all accounts did a good job. Anti-Obama fever is high and these two judges got tossed by the voters in an August election.
[BREITBART] USA Today Washington Bureau Chief Susan Page offered some of the sharpest criticism yet of the B.O. regime's violation of the freedom of the press, saying Obama is "more restrictive" and "more dangerous" than any president in history.
Page delivered these comments at a White House Correspondents' Association (WHCA) seminar on October 25.
This is nothing new, of course. Obama has been on the receiving end of heavy criticism over his treatment of the press.
In 2013, for instance, Fox News chief Roger Ailes released a scathing letter criticizing Obama for investigating Fox News news hound James Rosen. Ailes said that Obama and his politicized Department of Justice is "criminalizing the pursuit of investigative journalism."
Ailes is not Obama's only critic. Many voices in the media have criticized Obama's approach to the Bill of Rights.
In 2013, the News Agency that Dare Not be Named said Obama's crackdown on freedom of the press was having a "chilling effect" on journalism. This after Obama's Justice Department secretly obtained the phone records of 100 AP news hounds.
Even the Huffington Post complained that Obama's treatment of the press was a "dictator's dream."
Congratulations, guys! You wanted him. And you got exactly what you wanted, good and hard. It's a sucker bet that you'll learn from it, though.

Anyone can tell me which candidate was supported by USA Today in the last two Presidentail elections. If they supported Obama, well you reap wjhat you sow.

The MSM’s Stockholm syndrome occasionally displays symptoms of intermittent remission. Unfortunately the affliction is quite acute with no apparent cure. And their collective infatuation with HRC may be an indication of mutation.

Personally I'm starting to think articles like this are more wargame prep for Hillary 2016. Remember how open and friendly the White House was to the media back then...

So it only took 6 years of the administration attacking the constitution for USA today to get the scoop on Obama? Wow! These guys are real pro's!!!

A multi-volume chronology and reference guide set detailing three years of the Mexican Drug War between 2010 and 2012.
Rantburg.com and borderlandbeat.com correspondent and author Chris Covert presents his first non-fiction work detailing
the drug and gang related violence in Mexico.
Chris gives us Mexican press dispatches of drug and gang war violence
over three years, presented in a multi volume set intended to chronicle the death, violence and mayhem which has
dominated Mexico for six years.
Rantburg was assembled from recycled algorithms in the United States of America. No
trees were destroyed in the production of this weblog. We did hurt some, though. Sorry.
