The New York Post reports that the Staten Island Zoo "went to great lengths to ... keep secret" the fact that a groundhog New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio dropped during a Groundhog Day ceremony, died of internal injuries a week later.
Staten Island Zoo officials went to great lengths to hide the death from the public -- and keep secret the fact that "Chuck" was actually "Charlotte," a female impostor, sources said Wednesday.
The stand-in was found dead in her enclosure at the Staten Island Zoo on Feb. 9 -- and a necropsy determined she died from "acute internal injuries," sources said.
Instead of revealing the sad loss, the zoo -- which gets nearly half of its $3.5 million in annual funding from the city -- told the staff to keep the mayor's office in the dark about the animal's fate.
The accident occurred February 2nd during a ceremony familiar to anyone who has seen the movie "Groundhog Day" Wearing protective gloves in front of a gathered crowd and news photographers, New York's very tall mayor couldn't keep hold of the nervous animal. According to reports at the time, Staten Island Chuck "squirmed right out of the mayor's hands and fell on his noggin."
Editors from Politico and The New York Times mocked the Post's investigation into the Staten Island Zoo's cover-up because de Blasio is a Democrat and Democrats sure got it good.

As per #6, by extension "Communism" = Legal Sharia.
The Left's priority = mania? is the protection of Socialism + the Welfare-Nanny Super-State, even iff it means putting all at existential threat.
Every alternatist agenda that is empowered in Amerika devols into legalist andor moralist justification ["fairness'] for Legal Sharia.
THE LEFTIES MAY INDEED SUCCEED IN FORCING SOCIALISM=GOVTISM UPON AMERICA, BUT THE JURY IS STILL OUT IFF SAIDSAME SOCIALISM-GOVTISM WILL BE WESTERN SECULAR, ETC. ... OR ISLAMIC.
[EAGNEWS.ORG] GREEN LAKE, Wis. -- The Green Lake School District is the latest the join a number of schools reevaluating their participation in the National School Lunch Program.
The Ripon Press reports the district is dissatisfied with the new school lunch and snack rules championed by First Lady Michelle Obama.
"When I walk through the school cafeteria, I see multi-colored fruits and vegetables and whole-grain pasta or wraps on the trays of our students. The food looks really good, but the students aren't eating it," principal Mary Allen says, according to the paper.
"... The limited salt, whole-grains, vegetable substitutes for meat, and unfamiliar foods such as 'quinoa' and 'jicama' are not being embraced. Although the food looks good and is undeniably healthy, it is unflavored and tasteless."

I have to say I will at least give credit for trying. But it is not her job in the first place

That salad of Besoeker's sure looks good to me - lots better than any of the unhealty foods they offered (and I didn't eat) when I was in school. And I'm not even much into health foods...

My kids schiol lunches never look like what besoeker posted
Most lunches don't. Check an advertising pic of a Big Mac™ versus what the real thing looks like when you unwrap it.

that will generate some clean, dependable, natural gas.
OMG! Moochelle's lunch menu is contributing to global warming. Oh, the huge manatees!
As a side note, demand for quinoa by trendy food hipsters has driven up the price per kilo by roughly an order of magnitude since 1980, making what once was a staple food item in Andean countries too expensive for the poor.
As for the salad pic, that would go nice with a big juicy cheeseburger.

May I suggest the "Bad Columbus! Bad!" salad, with a handful of cilantro, contraband hotsauce, and a furtive but unassertive skim en cardboard?
Well, hallelu, all hail the jicama!
It's every kid's favorite root newcomer:
It's crunchy! It's bland!
And it's much in demand
For folks to whom paint drying's great drama.
Kids, please eat your whatchamacallit!
When stunned and prepared with a mallet,
Its flavors can rage
From gray over to beige
On the milquetoast's adventurous palette.
Ever wonder why Olmecs would worship
What we know as the Mexican turnip?
It resembled their heads,
So they'd nibble some shreds
And the rest, as a sacrifice, burn up.
[DAILYSIGNAL] With its quick swipe capability and ultimate portability, the high-tech Square Reader credit-card processor has become an invaluable tool in today's economy.
How high-tech credit card vendors and customers get their Second Amendment rights infringed.
Taxi drivers use it--as do trade-show vendors, online retailers and home contractors.
It is, as the company's slogan says, a "small credit card reader" that offers "big possibilities." But some of those big possibilities are apparently being foreclosed by the Obama administration.
Last summer, around the same time the U.S. Department of Justice's Operation Choke Point began pressuring banks to drop customers who buy or sell firearms, tobacco and other goods considered "not acceptable" by the Obama administration, Square quietly changed its terms of agreement.
In an alert regarding a change of terms, Square notified vendors:
...you will not accept payments in connection with the following businesses or business activities: ...sales of (i) firearms, firearm parts or hardware, and ammunition; or (ii) weapons and other devices designed to cause physical injury.
The new terms differ from Square's original terms of agreement, which banned only the "online" sales of firearms, a practice for which sites such as the popular eBay have long been criticized. (Square's terms, by the way, also prohibit the online sale of cigarettes and other tobacco products--goods that also are targeted by Operation Choke Point.) Goodbye, Square. Maybe you can process the lunch bill when Eric Holder and Lois Lerner get together.
Today, the Square's terms prohibit gun-shop owners from using the credit-card processor not only when they are conducting gun sales at their brick-and-mortar stores but even more so when they are offsite, representing their stores at gun shows where they often need the wireless Square Reader to ring up sales on smartphones or tablets. Gun show have been a target of anti-gun activists for nearly 20 years.

This is what Obama meant when he told supporters at a fundraiser he was working on gun control "behind the scenes".

Sort of like obstructing guns purchases by Blacks in the south for most the time from the end of the occupation reconstruction till the 60's. Remember, it's not suppressing civil rights when they do it.

Another processor is going to move fast into the niche. One thing that the processors do is happily steal customers from each other. Bone headed stunts like this will cost square customers, not just in the gun industry but others.

..yes. Understand Jefferson's admonition - power is derived from the consent of the governed. The people do not consent to Big Brother. Law enforcement exists to serve the people. The people do not exist to serve law enforcement. Prisons, which are the ultimate example of a police state, are still plagued by murder, assault, and rape for all the control of those running it.
[WASHINGTONTIMES] The contempt of Congress case against Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. -- the first sitting Cabinet member ever to face such a congressional rebuke -- will continue even after his resignation takes effect, but it's unlikely he will ever face personal punishment, legal analysts said Thursday.
Mr. Holder, is expected to announce his resignation later Thursday, and Tom Fitton, president of Judicial Watch, said the timing is not accidental: A federal judge earlier this week ruled that the Justice Department will have to begin submitting documents next month related to the botched Fast and Furious gun operation in a case brought by Judicial Watch.
"I don't think it's any coincidence he's resigning as the courts are ruling the Fast and Furious information has to be released," Mr. Fitton told The Washington Times.

Better to voluntarily resign now with accolades than wait for the chorus of rabid calls for his resignation later.

Regarding the hard drives, what is it with totalitarian folks with keeping such detailed records of their wrongdoing? It really shows they have no shame and believe they are above the law, until its too late.
