AMISOM, Somali Army convoy attacked in Lower Shabelle
Another round of confrontations erupted last night near Wanlaweyn between the Somali National Army & African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) on one side, against the Al-Shabaab Islamist militants.

The battle was provoked as the Al-Qaeda affiliated Al-Shabaab insurgents ambushed the convoy driven by the AMISOM and Army troops as they were passing by the road leading from Leego to Wanlaweyn. Although casualties and losses have been reported, the precise numbers are still unclear. Witnesses report that the wounded were rushed to hospitals immediately after the clashes halted.

The latest violence between the terrorist insurgents and the AMISOM backed Somali National Army follows on from an increase in conflict that occurs in the Lower Shabelle region.

AMISOM troops reinforcement to Bulla Burde
In a bid to improve the security in Bulla Burde town, AMISOM forces from the Djiboutian contingent have deployed reinforcement troops to the town.

This follows the unfortunate attack that occurred on the 18th of March when a vehicle filled with explosives rammed into one of the gates leading to a house accommodating Somali National Aarmy and African Union Afric soldiers in Bulla Burde town located 125 kilometres from Beledweyne in Sout Central Somalia killing AMISOM and SNA troops and injuring others.

Speaking about the reinforcement of troop’s deployment, Major Abdourashid Ismail Djiboutian Operations and Planning Officer of Sector 4 said the deployment is meant to boost the morale and motivation for the troops that are on the ground.

“The additional troops will play a vital role in ensuring the security of the population” said Major Ismail adding that AMISOM objective in Bulla Burde is to flush out AL Shabaab and to hold on the recovered position as the joint forces extend their perimeters of control by operating and clearance missions to Aborey, Yasoman, Douhoul and Bereyabal.

Somali National Army supported by AMISOM troops have been conducting cordon and search operations to flush out any elements of al Shabaab that might be still hiding within the community. The Bulla Burde residents celebrated following the capture, which they say will save them from the diabolical regime of the al Shabaab group which terrorized them for many years.

Bulla Burde is isolated and it is therefore paramount for AMISOM to extend control of Jalalaqsi and Tieglo to prevent Al Shabaab insurgents any chance of making use of this window of opportunity which could give them motivation for existence.

Bulla Burde has been the nerve Centre of Al-Shabaab insurgents before its liberation on the 13th of March 2014. Its capture was a major victory for the troops fighting the insurgents.

The Al Shabaab fighters had fled the town without putting up much resistance but regrouped and launched attacks during nightfall. Although they were constantly repelled by SNA and AMISOM forces and suffered significant losses during the assaults.

30 MB members sentenced to 3.5 years in prison over High Court riots
[Egypt Independent] The Azbakeya Misdemeanor Court sentenced 30 Moslem Brüderbund members to three and a half years in prison over riots that took place at the High Court in November 2013.

Supporters of toppled President Mohammed Morsy staged a protest at the High Court in November 2013 to denounce his trial, during which festivities erupted between protesters and the security forces.

The prosecutor charged the defendants with assembling, resisting authorities, the deliberate destruction of public and private properties, blocking Ramses Street and joining a terrorist group.

Boko Haram: Another attempt to attack Chibok fails as locals flee their villages
If the villagers fled, the attack worked.
[DAILYPOST.NG] Residents of Chibok in Borno State are fleeing their homes over fear of Boko Haram
... not to be confused with Procol Harum, Harum Scarum, possibly to be confused with Helter Skelter. The Nigerian version of al-Qaeda and the Taliban rolled together and flavored with a smigeon of distinctly Subsaharan ignorance and brutality...
attack.

The sect members, who were reported to have stormed the area with vehicles and cycle of violences, reportedly had a change of mind and returned to the bush.

Bukar Saleh, a resident of Chibok told DailyPost that a lot of their people are now fleeing to Askira/Uba and Maiduguri, noting that Chibok is now deserted.

"One of my uncles, who called this morning told me that last night the people (Boko Haram) came around. They beamed their lights on the village.

"He told me that they came with several vehicles and cycle of violences, but that they did not know what actually made them to change their minds", he said.

Speaking on the kidnapped school girls, Bukar told DailyPost that parents of the kidnapped girls claimed to have sighted them in the turbans camp.

He added that when they returned to inform security operatives, they were told that plans were ongoing to free the girls.

He, however, wondered how the turbans who are supposed to be on the run could come back to some villages trying to launch another attack.

He said, "it is not clear to me yet, the type of operation the security operatives are carrying out in our area.

"We were told that they are in pursuit of the Death Eaters, but last night, our people said the Boko Haram members have returned.

"They may come back to attack the village since they succeeded the first time, that has been their mode of operation from several attacks they carried around villages in Borno State.

"We want government and the security operatives to take with all seriousness their operations around these key areas from Damboa to Chibok and Gwoza and part of Askira/Uba from the southern part of this state and the whole of the northern part, even if it means declaring total war in these areas".

Arabia
30 'Qaida' Suspects Killed in Yemen Drone Strike
[An Nahar] Weekend drone strikes in Yemen killed more than 40 suspected al-Qaeda krazed killers, including 30 on Sunday, days after the jihadist network's Arabian Peninsula offshoot vowed to fight against Western "crusaders."

The United States is the only country that operates drones in Yemen, and President Abdrabuh Mansur Hadi has defended their use, despite criticism from rights groups who deplore civilian casualties.

On Sunday U.S. drones fired "several missiles" into a training camp run by al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) in the rugged Wadi Ghadina region in the southern province of Abyan
...a governorate of Yemen. The region was a base to the Aden-Abyan Islamic Army terrorist group until it dropped the name and joined al-Qaeda. Its capital is Zinjibar. In March 2011, al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula declared the governate an Islamic Emirate after seizing control of the region. The New York Times fastidiously reported that those in control, while Islamic hard boyz, are not in fact al-Qaeda, but something else that looks, tastes, smells, and acts the same. Yemeni government forces launched an effort to re-establish control of the region when President-for-Life Saleh was tossed and the carnage continues...
, a tribal chief said.

"More than 30 members of al-Qaeda were killed and many others maimed," near al-Mahfad town, he said.

Abyan lies next to Shabwa province, another region of Yemen where al-Qaeda is entrenched.

Witnesses also said that a U.S. drone carried out the attack and that the most of the maimed were evacuated by members of the Islamist network.

A statement on the 26sep.net defense ministry website said the attack on al-Qaeda "training camps" killed "several" faceless myrmidons of various nationalities.

On Saturday a drone strike in the central province of Baida killed 10 al-Qaeda suspects and three civilians, according to the official Saba news agency. It did not say who carried out the attack.

After that strike, al-Qaeda faceless myrmidons cordoned off the area and evacuated dead comrades, tribal sources said.

They said all those killed on Saturday were low-ranking faceless myrmidons from the region.

An official statement on Saba said the dead were "dangerous elements" who had been plotting to carry out "attacks on vital installations and on politicians and military personnel" in Baida.

The statement said the suspects were also responsible for the murder of Baida's deputy governor on April 15.

The weekend attacks came less than a week after AQAP chief Nasser al-Wuhayshi pledged in a rare video appearance to fight Western "crusaders" everywhere.

"We will continue to raise the banner of Islam in the Arabian Peninsula and our war against the crusaders will continue everywhere in the world," he said in the video posted online.

NJ Man, Woman Indicted For Making Bomb Threats At 2 Schools And Courthouse
[NJ.com] A Vineland man and woman accused of making bomb threats that led to the evacuation of two schools and a courthouse in Atlantic County have been indicted, officials said.

Raheem H. Brown, 36, and Kemon Powell, 40 allegedly made threats by phone at about 11 a.m. on Feb. 4, claiming bombs were placed in the Atlantic County Criminal Courthouse and the Hess Middle School. The two also are accused of saying a Superior Court judge would be harmed, Atlantic County Prosecutor Jim McClain said in a news release.

Two hours later a second threatening phone call was made -- this time to Shane elementary School. A search of all three buildings by K9 bomb detection teams turned up nothing unusual, McClain said.

Brown was locked away
Drop the gat, Rocky, or you're a dead 'un!
two days later at his home. Powell was taken into custody on March 11.

Both face four counts of counts of terroristic threats, three counts of false public alarm, and one count of conspiracy, the prosecutor said. Brown remains held on $500,000 bail, while Powell is being held in lieu of $200,000, cash or bond.

Schools in New Jersey evacuated students at least 61 times during the 2012-2013 school year because of bomb threats, state data show.

The New Jersey total marks a 27 percent jump from the previous year, and the estimated price tag for responding to the threats has surpassed $2 million, according to a memo from the state Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness that was distributed to school chiefs.

#2  Raheem and the beautiful Ms. Powell appear to be members of the "Religion of Peace".

They were simply following the 11th commandment of Islam that states: "Thou shalt call in a bomb threat if you can't actually bomb some infidels."

Arresting them is an obvious example of islamophobia.

Peshawar has evolved into one of Pakistan's most ethnically and linguistically diverse cities, which means lots of gunfire.
and kidnapped three people.

The hujra situated in the Mashokhel area of Badbher belongs to the slain Awami National Party (ANP) leader Mian Mushtaq. The three people who were kidnapped were reported to be Mushtaq's close associates and relatives.

The Station House Officer (SHO) of Badbher cop shoppe Garanullah said that the attackers may have thrown a hand grenade or a bomb at Mushtaq's hujra, which damaged two vehicles on the premises.

Family sources have said that three people related to the late ANP leader were kidnapped by the gunnies, SHO Garanullah said. The names of those kidnapped are Fahad, Shakeel and Shabbir Ahmed.

The police said that it was not possible at present to confirm whether the attack was carried out by Death Eaters or was a result of a personal enmity.

Mian Mushtaq was bumped off some weeks earlier along with his driver and an associate. His funeral was also targeted with a remote-controlled bomb that went kaboom! near the funeral venue.

Mian Naseer Ahmed, a relative of the slain ANP leader, registered a report with the police and said that masked gunnies entered the premises and kidnapped Fahad, Shakeel and Shabbir after separating them from the others.

He added that after taking the abductees, the gunnies detonated some explosives, which damaged two vehicles parked nearby and to the hujra.

IAF strikes terror sites in Gaza after rocket attacks
[JPOST] The Israel Air Force bombed three terrorist targets in the Gaza Strip on Monday following an attack on IDF forces and rocket attacks on Israel.

Fighter jets struck three targets accurately and returned to base, the IDF Spokesman's Office said.

Reuters cited medical sources in Gaza as saying Israel's retaliatory strike had left two Hamas militants lightly wounded.

Earlier on Monday, terrorists in Gaza fired seven rockets into Israel during the last day of the Passover holiday.

The first three projectiles struck uninhabited areas in the Sha'ar Hanegev Regional Council, activating "Code Red" sirens. No damage was reported in the attack.

Another two rockets launched from the coastal enclave caused light damage in Sderot.

Arab Youth Riot On Temple Mount; 2 Officers Hurt
[Ynet] Temple Mount compound closed after rocks and fireworks thrown at police from barricade at Al-Aqsa Mosque; police arrest 24 suspects.

Dozens of masked Arab youths began throwing rocks and fireworks at Israel Police forces Sunday morning from the Al-Aqsa Mosque, in the Temple Mount compound, just as the area was being opened to visitors.

Police forces responded to the violence with crowd-control measures, and the site was closed off.

Police closed the Temple Mount to visitors after an incident in which two Border Guard officers were lightly maimed. They received medical attention on-site.

In all, sixteen suspects were tossed in the clink
Yez got nuttin' on me, coppers! Nuttin'!
by the time order was restored in the compound.

The arrest tally on charges of disturbing the peace reached 24 for the weekend, and includes five youths who attempted to climb the eastern side of the compound in an attempt to gain access to the highly-guarded holy site.

Police discovered tear gas on three suspects, who were transfered for questioning at the Old City cop shoppe..

Before Sunday's riots, Commander of the Jerusalem District Major General Yossi Parienty decided that, because of attempts by Arab youths to cause disorder on the Temple Mount, only men over the age of 50 with Israeli identification cards and women of all ages would be allowed entrance for Sunday's prayers.
This suggests that Palestinian lads make awfully pretty girls...

Palestinian cleric says Israel threw stun grenades into al Aqsa; Israel denies
[REUTERS] The most senior Islamic holy man in Jerusalem said on Sunday Israeli police hurled stun grenades into al-Aqsa mosque, Islam's third holiest site, to quell the latest in a string of Paleostinian protests at the politically sensitive holy site.

Israeli police denied the allegation, saying officers threw the non-lethal devices, which emit a loud noise, on a plaza outside the mosque after protesters threw rocks and firecrackers at them.

The demonstrators, who have confronted police for the past four days in a bid to stop Israeli and foreign visitors from entering the holy compound, then retreated into al-Aqsa, a police front man said.

Abu Sayyaf release kidnapped engineer
Abu Sayyaf militants have freed a kidnapped engineer after two months in captivity in the southern Philippine province of Sulu.

Police said Bonifacio Salinas was released in Patikul town. His freedom came barely a month after the Abu Sayyaf released his wife. The couple was seized outside their house on February 16. It was unknown whether the family paid ransom for their safe release.

The Abu Sayyaf is still holding several hostages, among them two European wildlife photographers who were kidnapped in February 2012.

Two-year-old and parents gunned down in southern Thailand
A couple and their two-year-old daughter were killed and twelve-year-old nephew injured in a gun attack in Yala province yesterday. The attack, which authorities have tied to the southern insurgency and say could be a reprisal, took place in front of a rubber wood factory in Bannang Sata district.

Police say the family members were heading home from the market when gunmen in a pickup truck attacked them with M16 assault rifles. Investigators said the couple's son, who was a village defense volunteer, escaped unhurt from a bomb attack on Feb 16.

Authorities blamed southern militants for the attack on the family.

The assault could be tied to the murder of Muktar Aleemama, a suspected command leader of southern rebels, and his 6-year-old son on Thursday, officials said. They did not elaborate.

Fugitive Wounded after Firing at Arsal Army Checkpoint
[An Nahar] A man was shot and maimed Sunday after crossing an army checkpoint in the Bekaa border town of Arsal and opening fire at troops.

"Driving a pickup carrying foreign license plates, Kamal Ezzeddine crossed a Lebanese Army checkpoint in the Arsal region and shot up its members, who responded in kind," the army said in a communique.

It noted that the man was maimed and rushed to a hospital in the area for treatment.

"The used assault weapon and a quantity of military equipment and ammunition were seized while a probe was launched under the supervision of the relevant judicial authorities," the army added.

It pointed out that Ezzeddine was wanted on two arrest warrants on charges of dealing forcibly with army troops.
