WHAT HAPPENED AT THE WWII memorial today: First of all I did not see any violence. I did see an ex seal named Stevie block a very mouthy angry black man from the crowd and pushed him back (with his gigantic chest) away so that he would shut up and stop inciting people. Many times during the event when tempers flared... there was always a chorus of voices saying, "peaceful demonstration!" or "civil disobedience not violence". It was so refreshing to know that those around me would express themselves with passion and deadly seriousness but not cross the line.
After I arrived there was a lot of conversation. People meeting people with BIG smiles. It was clear that there were many like me that do not seek out the company of other veterans and don't usually show it off. Today I wore normal stuff with my BDU Rain coat and my Master Sergeant insignia displayed on the zipper guard. It's subtle but other vets would notice it. I saw a few people I served with but they did not recognize me. There were a few people who grabbed the mic to talk and one guy read a poem he wrote. I thought it was a bit overly defiant and threatening but most of the folks there lent an ear to whatever was being said.
We were there to share our disdain for the way American's are being treated and the loss of liberties that we all "fought" for. No question we were always told that this is what we were serving for and we all believed it. Some became jaded like myself but still deep inside the ideal of freedom and liberty without oppression or fear of military domination is at our core. I only heard that said but once today, but I think I know it to be true from the way people behaved and the mood and response to the speakers. There were some who demanded certain congressmen resign and that Obama be impeached and AHA be trashed, etc, etc, etc. But, by-in-large, this day was about abuses against Americans by this administration. The issues for me was closing the parks, weakening the US Constitution and more than anything, the four slaughtered men in Benghazi. I always seem to imagine them and their terror in the last minutes of their life. sigh. It plagues my dreams sometimes.

[Dawn] TENSIONS soared in the town of Pangrio in Badin last week after some local Musselmen residents objected to the burial of a Hindu man in a Musselmen graveyard. After broadcasting warnings from the loudspeakers of the local mosque, a crowd dug up the body and dumped it outside the graveyard for the family to claim. The episode had all the gruesome aspects of mob justice, with the added perversity that the victim was already a corpse.
This is the latest incident in an expanding picture of extremism in Sindh. Earlier this year, the custodian of the Dargah Hussainabad near Jacobabad escaped a kaboom, which sparked Barelvi-Deobandi tensions. A later bombing claimed three lives at Ghulam Shah Ghazi's shrine near Shikarpur. In 2011, a shrine in Mirpurkhas was also attacked and burned.
According to the Pakistain Hindu Council (PHC), the kidnapping, forced conversions, and forced marriages of Hindus are also on the rise -- up to 20 kidnapping cases are reported each month to the Hindu Council in Bloody Karachi

The Healthcare.gov website requires that individuals looking for coverage enter personal information before comparing plans. IT experts believe that this requirement is causing the website to crash.
A growing consensus of IT experts, outside and inside the government, have figured out a principal reason why the website for Obamacare's federally-sponsored insurance exchange is crashing. Healthcare.gov forces you to create an account and enter detailed personal information before you can start shopping. This, in turn, creates a massive traffic bottleneck, as the government verifies your information and decides whether or not you're eligible for subsidies. HHS bureaucrats knew this would make the website run more slowly. But they were more afraid that letting people see the underlying cost of Obamacare's insurance plans would scare people away.
HHS didn't want users to see Obamacare's true costs
"Healthcare.gov was initially going to include an option to browse before registering," report Christopher Weaver and Louise Radnofsky in the Wall Street Journal. "But that tool was delayed, people familiar with the situation said." Why was it delayed? "An HHS spokeswoman said the agency wanted to ensure that users were aware of their eligibility for subsidies that could help pay for coverage, before they started seeing the prices of policies." (Emphasis added.)
As you know if you've been following this space, Obamacare's bevy of mandates, regulations, taxes, and fees drives up the cost of the insurance plans that are offered under the law's public exchanges. A Manhattan Institute analysis I helped conduct found that, on average, the cheapest plan offered in a given state, under Obamacare, will be 99 percent more expensive for men, and 62 percent more expensive for women, than the cheapest plan offered under the old system. And those disparities are even wider for healthy people.
That raises an obvious question. If 50 million people are uninsured today, mainly because insurance is too expensive, why is it better to make coverage even costlier?
Political objectives trumped operational objectives
The answer is that Obamacare wasn't designed to help healthy people with average incomes get health insurance. It was designed to force those people to pay more for coverage, in order to subsidize insurance for people with incomes near the poverty line, and those with chronic or costly medical conditions.

It is NOT "crashing". Service is being blocked to forestall the negative impacts [and press] of sticker shock. Once the budget is passed and Obamacare is funded, look for an amazing system recovery.

Seems everyone getting Dear John letters is going to ehealthinsurance.com. I took a quick look - works great. You can check on subsidies too (to the extent anyone can calculate it).
So: why was it necessary to blow $650m on a redundant site that doesn't work? Seems the only point was to allow the government to assemble a massive database of sensitive personal data, to be used "for any lawful government purpose," LOL. Like an IRS audit if you're cheering for the wrong team, I presume.
