In an opinion piece for the WaPo, who have published his musings in the op ed section many times, ex President Carter:
- says that all the NORKs want is respect
- praises himself for the 1994 agreement (he elides the part about the NORKs immediately breaking the deal)
- says that the NORKs will easily agree to end their nuclear programs, put the dismantling activities under IEAA inspection and sign a permanent peace treaty if only the US agrees to bilateral talks (to replace the 6 power negotiating framework).
- he does not offer to make himself a permanent hostage of N Korea

You know, like...Hamas.
He must go through kneepads like I go through cigarettes.
The most interesting propaganda I've ever read....change a few names and places, and it could be an MSNBC (unintentional) squib about "The One"......!
The population of North Korea has been in a state of euphoria since the "young general" Kim Jong-eun was anointed as heir apparent to legendary peerless leader Kim Jong-il. His anointment guarantees a bright and rosy future for the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK).
It means that Kim Jong-il - who the people have entrusted with their destiny - will see his most faithful lieutenant take charge. It also guarantees that the population will see an uninterrupted continuity of seasoned statesmen at the helm, as the country continues on its path towards enhanced national security and economic prosperity despite the adamantly hostile policy behavior of the US.
Kim Jong-eun was anointed as heir apparent to Kim Jong-il neither because he is the ruler's son nor because he bears a close resemblance to legendary founding father Kim Il-sung. The foremost reason is the unanimous agreement by people in all walks of life that Kim Jong-eun has what it takes to be a benevolent, virtuous leader in the same class as Kim Il-sung, with total revolutionary dedication to Supreme Leader Kim Jong-il, limitless love for the people and irresistible magnetic charm, charisma and personal appeal.
As was the case with Kim Il-sung and Kim Jong-il, the young general shines with such virtue and magnetic appeal that he fascinates the elder, more experienced leadership of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK), as well as the Korean People's Army commanding generals, their rank-and-file members and the masses. He comes across as a leader who can achieve a spiritual and political connection between the leadership and the population and weave North Korean society into a close-knit, harmonious political family.
Secondly, the young general has proved in the eyes of the WPK and the military that he is decisive and ready to risk war at anytime with the US and Japan over the slightest infringement of the sovereignty and independence of North Korea.
In 2009, the young general ordered a prompt retaliatory nuclear assault on the mainland US and Japan should take place if they intercepted the second North Korean satellite launch vehicle.
Kim Jong-eun has authored papers on nuclear war strategy, missiles and long-range weapons for use in ground warfare and air-defense, winning the acclaim of military leaders.
No wonder, then, that the September 28 Party Conference of the WPK named him as the heir apparent to Kim Jong-il and as one of the two vice chairmen of the WPK military committee, headed by chairman Jong-il.

Kim Myong Chol is author of a number of books and papers in Korean, Japanese and English on North Korea, including Kim Jong-il's Strategy for Reunification. He has a PhD from the Democratic People's Republic of Korea's Academy of Social Sciences and is often called an "unofficial" spokesman of Kim Jong-il and North Korea.
If he's running his mouth, no way in hell he's "unofficial". Nice of Asia Times to print his bullshit.

I don't understand Obamas "Black Revenge" because he is not legally "Black". Is he so far out of reality that he believes he is Black? His mother was 100% white. His father was 87.5% Arabic and 12.5% Black. That makes Obama only 6.25% Black which is below the 12.5% standard to claim to be a member of that race.

He may have been born on American soil, but his childhood was elsewhere. That can have a big influence, especially if that childhood is in Indonesia vs. somewhere more western.
The growing TSA groping scandal is another Obama political fiasco, almost a comical way for an American president to commit political suicide. TSA's groping of little kids and their moms instead of going for the bad guys who blew up the Twin Towers fits the narrative of radical black revenge. Now all the rich white folks are treated as police suspects. Let's see how they like it! Or as the hippies used to say, "Up against the wall, m-f!"
The cops are the traditional target of radical Left scapegoating, and even more so for Black Leftists. Obama showed it when Harvard Professor Henry Louis Gates, Jr., himself a racial demagogue, was stopped by an interracial team of cops while breaking and entering into his own house at night. Gates immediately cried "police brutality!," and Obama immediately fell into line. Stupidly, in public. Obama paid a political price for that knee-jerk reaction, but he did not learn from it.
Gates is director of the W.E.B. DuBois Institute for African and African American Research at Harvard, where they dig out new and ever more outrageous reasons to be mad at white folks. It's their version of "research." DuBois was a Communist during the Stalin years, and he was surely well-known to Frank Marshall Davis, Obama's surrogate father in Hawaii.
So Obama hates the cops, even the ones who risk their lives to protect black communities all over the country. In the TSA he has found his perfect instrument of symbolic revenge. If you remember how Hillary Rodham Clinton treated men in uniform at the White House, no matter what the uniform was, you'll get the idea.
Now everybody who flies over Thanksgiving, the quintessential American family holiday, will be dissed by uniformed cops, many of them black, because affirmative action rules the roost at the TSA. If you don't get the role-reversal joke, you're not listening to Obama.
You can bet your last dollar that Rev. Jerry Wright gets the joke. So do Louis Farrakhan; Father Pfleger, the Catholic race-monger; and everybody except Justice Clarence Thomas and Congressman Alan West, who are not laughing. Actually, they get it, too, but it looks more like tragedy than comedy to them. (Colin Powell, as usual, has gone missing in this one.)
The revenge narrative is central to Obama's personal identity, a lot of which is purely imaginary. Don't forget that he is living Dreams from My Father -- not the reality of his father, because he never knew his father at all.

The body scanner program was under way before Obama took office. I think the "radical black revenge" scenario is complete nonsense. I believe that Obama is defending the existing program because he's completely out of touch with concerns of the common citizen and the alternative of Israeli style profiling violates his sense of political correctness.
If you want something else to worry about, see my blog post about the scanners and cancer.
[An Nahar] The Canadian Broadcasting Corp. (CBC) said in a lengthy investigative report that the findings of the U.N. inquiry into ex-PM Rafik Hariri's liquidation point a finger at Hizbullah, and not Israel.
To date, the report said, the U.N. inquiry has reportedly spent in the range of $200 million and there has been talk for some time now that it is preparing to bring down indictments, possibly late this year or in early 2011.
It said Special Tribunal for Leb Prosecutor Daniel Bellemare is singularly uncommunicative about whatever progress has been made, as was Brammertz. From time to time, Bellemare has assured the Lebanese media that justice is proceeding, must remain confidential and shouldn't be rushed.

Purge the ranks now. Immediately. Or say goodbye to Lebanon.
