After the Patriots beat the Eagles 24-21 in 2005 to win the Lombardi Trophy, Brown thought the Patriots beat them with nothing but sharp offensive playcalling. Now, hes not so sure.
With spying accusations leveled this week against the Patriots, some of the Eagles left from the NFC title team are wondering if New England used bootleg film to their advantage in the Super Bowl.
For me to think back two years ago about something they may or may not have done, its not worth my time, running back Brian Westbrook said. I agree, not worth the time. Whatever happened to admitting defeat? I would hope that if cheating was involved they could win by more than 3 points.

well, they kicked my Chargers' asses last week without tape, but they also won a great number of games by three or less points the last couple years. How many were won because Brady knew a strong-side blitz was coming and checked off for a screen? If Belichick doesn't come clean with all his tapes (proving it was more widespread than he admitted) the Mangina can let the league know, since he participated in this before he jumped ship and tattled... BB is in deep doo doo

Of course the Eagles losing to the Pats in that Super Bowl had everything to do with cheating and NOTHING to do with Eagle's Coach Andy Reid moronic play calling in the 4th quarter of the game. I swear it feels like Sept. 10th again.

One overriding, always prominent characteristic of a winner is to take your lumps, and to never make excuses. All the great teams had this characteristic in spades.
And it's the reason why the Eagles aren't in that category. Brian Westbrook, if this is a prevailing opinion in Philly, please, find a team with character.

If I have my stats right, the Pats at home have only allowed an average of 13.6 points against them since 2002.....seems the Chargersm fall into that average...
Vandals toppled a 160-year-old marble bust of Christ from a grand staircase landing at the Boston Public Library, leaving a companion sculpture of Lucifer undamaged, a library spokeswoman said.
The bust, which broke into a few pieces, will be repaired, Mary Bender told The Boston Globe for a story in today's editions. Lucifer has been removed from display until better protection is arranged. The sculptures, which were displayed behind a railing, were made by Horatio Greenough around 1845 and had been on the landing between the first and second floor since the library opened in 1895.
According to a police report, a man and a woman were seen on a library surveillance video attacking the bust at 2:40 p.m. on Sept. 12. The video showed the woman throwing something at the sculpture and pushing it off a ledge. The suspects bravely fled.
"People reported hearing a crash," Bender told the Globe. She said a man tried to vandalize the bust in the 1970s but was tackled by an employee. Lucifer was spared that time, too.

Years ago, James Caan admitted with some chagrin that he thought acting was no job for a real man. I have a lot of respect for him because of that and because he is such a good actor.

Caan was a pretty ballsy stuntman and excellent knife-thrower before getting cast in a pre-scotch/beer gut John Wayne flick...it was a classic but I forget the title.

The story behind the scenes is actually immigration.
About a decade ago, the red light district was dominated by local talent, the girls were unionized and things were pretty orderly. Then a huge number of eastern European and "Asian" girls were brought in by human traffickers and pimped, which screwed things up.
Six grisly murders in Togo in which the victims were decapitated and drained of their blood have raised fears of a resurgence of ritual killings ahead of parliamentary elections in the West African state next month.
The serial killings occurred last weekend in the southern Vo and Lacs prefectures, east of the capital Lome. The victims included a 12-year-old boy and a 63-year-old woman and their severed heads were carried off by the killers.
The discovery of the headless corpses has shocked Togolese and triggered a wave of speculation that the killings were ritual murders. This is a practice still found in parts of Africa in which people kill to obtain body parts and blood in the belief they will bring social success and political power.
Police announced the arrest of four suspects, including one from neighboring Benin, the West African home of the ancient Voodoo religion, who confessed to killing the 12-year-old boy.
Togo holds legislative elections on October 14, and international observers hope they will strengthen the weak grip of democracy in the small former French colony, which like Benin is wedged between Nigeria and Ghana on the Gulf of Guinea.
Gov. Sarah Palin ordered state transportation officials Friday to abandoned the "bridge to nowhere" project that became a nationwide symbol of federal pork-barrel spending.
The $398 million bridge would have connected Ketchikan, on one island in southeastern Alaska, to its airport on another nearby island. "Ketchikan desires a better way to reach the airport, but the $398 million bridge is not the answer," Palin said in a news release. She directed the transportation department to find the most "fiscally responsible" alternative for access to the airport.
Ketchikan is Alaska's entry port for northbound cruise ships that bring more than 1 million visitors yearly. Every flight into Gravina Island requires a 15-minute ferry ride to reach the more densely populated Revillagigedo Island. Sen. Ted Stevens and Rep. Don Young championed the project through Congress two years ago, securing more than $200 million for the bridge between Ketchikan, on Revillagigedo Island, and Gravina Island.

I guess this means we'll be getting a big tax rebate now, because the bridge is finished. After all, it was the Big Wasteful Item in the federal budget, right?

The ferry ride travels approximately 1800 feet, and takes about 5 minutes. All this fuss over an airport with limited traffic and limited passengers. I saw no problem in riding the ferry, and in fact, it was a scenic and pleasurable experience. I wish it had been longer.
Morrisville Two people were arrested at Raleigh-Durham International Airport Friday night after causing a "serious disturbance" on their flight from Jacksonville, Fla., according to an airport spokeswoman. No one was injured, but the disturbance was classified as a terrorist threat, according to RDU Spokeswoman Colleen Fischvogt. Investigators did not say what may have been said or found to have prompted that decision.
Authorities did not immediately release the names of the two people who were arrested. They are in the custody of the FBI, officials said.
Police and emergency personnel met American Eagle flight 4518 at RDU after hearing that two passengers were causing a disturbance. The plane was held away from the terminal after it landed, and police surrounded the aircraft. It had been scheduled to go to Gate C26.The flight was an Embraer ERJ-145, a regional twin-engine jet, according to its schedule information.
Several other emergency vehicles were also on the scene.
The flight was en route to RDU when the crew called for police to meet them. Flight 4518 was due at RDU at 8:20 p.m. after leaving Jacksonville at 7 p.m. Passengers were kept on the plane for a time, and police approached the aircraft with movable stairs. Passengers were able to get off the plane just before 9:50 p.m. Police then took them to a central location to interview them briefly about what they had seen or heard.

I got 20 bucks says there's a Mohammed or some such shit in there.
My occupation requires that I fly frequently. If there is ever a "serious disturbance" on one of those flights, I will happily be arrested for assault and plain old ass stomping abuse upon landing.
The FBI early Saturday said a misunderstanding apparently sparked a Friday night incident in which dozens of law-enforcement and emergency personnel met a flight from Florida to RDU International Airport and 27 passengers waited four hours to go home with baggage that had been checked by bomb-disposal experts.
RDU officials had reported two people were arrested after American Eagle Flight 4518 was met by RDU police, the FBI and airport emergency crews. They had been told by the plane's crew that something suspicious was going on, officials said.
Hours later, the FBI said it was closing the case and that there had been a misunderstanding on the plane. "Approximately 30 minutes prior to landing, a flight attendant observed suspicious activity by two of the passengers and reported this activity accordingly," the FBI said in a statement. "Subsequent investigation, including interviews with those aboard the aircraft and a search of the airplane, has determined there was never any apparent threat or danger to the passengers or crew, and the observed activity was apparently misperceived," agents added.

UPDATE:
Turns out the whole thing was a non-incident, caused by a clueless and overzealous flight attendant.
The FBI early Saturday said a misunderstanding apparently sparked an incident on a flight from Florida that Raleigh-Durhuam International Airport officials initially classified as a possible terrorist incident.
FBI agents determined that a "misperception" caused the alert and said there was never any threat to passengers or crew members.
American Eagle Flight 4518 left from Jacksonville, Fla., at 7:10 p.m. for Raleigh. "Approximately 30 minutes prior to landing, a flight attendant observed suspicious activity by two of the passengers and reported this activity accordingly," the FBI said in a statement.
Dozens of law-enforcement and emergency personnel met the plane at a remote part of the airfield around 8:20 p.m. Three crew members and 27 passengers were kept on the plane for more than an hour, until RDU police, FBI agents and airport emergency crews evacuated them on movable stairs around 9:50 p.m.
RDU police bused passengers to a building where they were questioned, and explosives teams checked the bags form the flight.
Early reports said the FBI arrested two passengers, but hours later, the FBI said it had arrested no one and was closing the case.
"Subsequent investigation, including interviews with those aboard the aircraft and a search of the airplane, has determined there was never any apparent threat or danger to the passengers or crew, and the observed activity was apparently misperceived," agents added.
Around 12:30 a.m. Saturday, four hours after their plane landed, passengers were taken to terminal C, where they collected their bags, which had been checked by bomb-disposal experts, and went on their way.
RDU commercial operations proceeded normally during the incident, with both main runways open.
The reported "disturbance" on the plane was initially classified as a terrorist threat as a precaution, according to RDU Spokeswoman Colleen Fischvogt.
Police arrested a number of people Friday after the death toll from a toxic batch of illegally-brewed alcohol rose to 27, officials said. Hospitals in Karachi have been inundated with nearly four dozen victims who drank the bootleg booze, senior police official Javed Bokhari said. The number of confirmed deaths is 27 but it could rise because some victims are still in a serious condition, Bokhari told AFP, raising the toll from 14 overnight.
The victims were labourers who lost consciousness after buying the alcohol on Thursday. Television footage showed some lying in hospital beds as relatives fanned them. Bokhari said the police had arrested two men for illegally brewing alcohol and another two for selling the drink. We have also suspended the services of three senior police officials because they failed to check the crime happening in their area, he said.
Twenty-three people died from poisoned alcohol in October last year in the central city of Multan. Officially two breweries operate in the country to provide alcohol to non-Muslim communities, who form three percent of the 160-million-member Muslim state.

Illegal drinking is fairly common in Muslim countries. In Egypt, there is an unofficial tradition for Muslims to drink when they are in a Christian home; but they are expected to stay there until they are sober. In north Lebanon drinking is accepted at certain events, like jazz festivals. They hold a lot of those; but not in the south.
As for the deaths, they happened in Sindh which is less strict than the rest of the country.

Members of dishpit gay-bashing Westboro Baptist Church in Topeka, Kan., plan to picket the funeral Saturday of Pfc. Sammie Phillips. The group will protest before services begin at 2 p.m. at Stithton Baptist Church in Radcliff, according to a news release that also features biblical quotations and interpretations.
The church advised Radcliff police of its plans. Organizers asked the department to designate an area for 10 church members to picket, police spokesman Bryce Shumate said. They will be restricted to an area across Dixie Boulevard and about 300 feet away from the church.
The Patriot Guard Riders also will attend the funeral and visitation today at Coffey and Chism Funeral Home in Vine Grove, said Melinda Willcut, an administrative assistant at the church. The riders attend services for military members as invited guests. Their objectives are to show respect for the deceased and shield family and friends from interruptions caused by protesters, according to the groups Web site. Were really happy for those attitudes, Willcut said, referring to the guard.
Shumate said police will be patrolling the area Saturday to ensure order. Our main concern is its our job to ensure the safety of the folks and citizens in Radcliff, he said, adding that included visitors.
Westboro Baptist Church and its controversial leader, the Rev. Fred Phelps, claim homosexuals run the country and military and call the deaths of those serving the military punishments from God. Similar protests in Kentucky led legislators to enact laws regulating protests at funerals.
Phillips, 19, of Vine Grove, served in the Kentucky National Army Guard and was killed Sept. 10 when his vehicle overturned while on a traffic control mission near Rustamiyah, Iraq. He was a 2006 North Hardin High School graduate.

Good Morning Mr. Phelps ... The funeral you are looking to protest at is that of Pfc. Sammie Phillips of Cecilia. As a member of the 2nd Battalion, 138th Field Artillery, Kentucky Army National Guard of Carlisle, Kentucky, this worthy young man was killed on September 10, 2007 in the course of Operation Iraqi Freedom. He is being buried with appropriate honors in accordance with Americas proud tradition of interring its fighting men and women with all due respect and regard. It is important to note that Sammie Phillips died fighting for your own right to express whatever repugnant religious views you and your perverted spawn might hold.
Your mission, should you chose to accept it, is to refrain from making any more of a flaming, raging, outlandish asshole out of yourself than you previously have manifested at several other military funerals. Opting to create the same grief as youve already done for Matthew Shepards family, not to mention those of other undeserving and noble warriors who sacrificed their lives protecting your two square meters of profoundly wasted skin, will result in a beat-down of monumental proportions.
As always, should you or any of your diseased and fetid, malignant offspring be beaten, caught or killed, the entire population of Americas rational and sane thinking people will disavow all knowledge of your actions and open several bottles of expensive Champagne while consuming vast quantities of costly caviar ladled up with mother of pearl spoons onto toast points garnished with finely minced onion and freshly grated egg yolk.

Westboro's website is indeed scary. I would expect the Rev. Fred Phelps to be the kind of preacher that would ask his followers to swallow the cyanide-laced cool aid. Be wary of false prophets.
#6
Law enforcement needs to stay at least 5 miels away from the protest. And let it be known that they will absolutely not be near that area and will not come to calls in that area.
And just let the veterans do what comes naturally. Phelps will have his cameras smashed and get the beatings he and his lawer kin so justly deserve, and have no recourse.
Actions have consequences, and someone needs to impose those on this walking piece of scarecely human filth.

Somebody needs to show up with a couple of dozen donuts and some coffee for all the wonderful police officers. Have them call a 15 minute donut break. And when they get back on station, the problem will have been solved.

as the patriot guard riders are mostly vets themselves maybe they will take care of these morons. I'm sure us rantburgers could provide alot of bail money for such a project.

The Patriot Guard Riders won't do anything to upset the bereaved unnecessarily. So no axe handles or donut breaks. I admire their considerate forbearance under strong provocation.
