Arab, UN officials request Sudan's PM to reconsider resignation
[SUDANTRIBUNE] Prime Minister Abdallah Hamdok received on Tuesday calls from a number of Arab and international leaders requesting him to not resign from his position.

A month after an agreement with the Commander-in-Chief of the Sudanese army Abdel Fattah al-Burhan on November 21, Hamdok failed to form a government of technocrats and to bring the political forces to sign a new political declaration.

Also, multiple sources said that the prime minister recently informed al-Burhan of his decision to leave his job and informed his office members to prepare for the handover.

The Saudi Press Agency reported that Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud spoke with al-Burhan and Hamdok on Tuesday.

During his separate calls, al-Saud stressed the Kingdom’s keenness on Sudan’s stability and called for the formation of a new government as soon as possible.

He further called for an "Agreement between the military and civilian components for the benefit of Sudan and its brotherly people," according to the official agency.

However,
nothing needs reforming like other people's bad habits...
sources close to the calls said al-Saud called appealed to Hamdok to reverse his decision and requested al-Burhan to reconsider his position and make the necessary concessions to get the country out of the current crisis.

Hamdok also received calls from the UN Secretary-General, the Arab League
...an organization of Arabic-speaking states with 22 member countries and four observers. The League tries to achieve Arab consensus on issues, which usually leaves them doing nothing but a bit of grimacing and mustache cursing...
and the U.S. Special Envoy for the Horn of Africa.

The officials discussed with the Sudanese prime minister the need to reconsider his decision and work for a genuine solution for the crisis.

The African Union
...a union consisting of 53 African states, most run by dictators of one flavor or another. The only all-African state not in the AU is Morocco. Established in 2002, the AU is the successor to the Organisation of African Unity (OAU), which was even less successful...
, which has suspended Sudan’s membership immediately after the coup, announced last November that a delegation from the Peace And Security Council would hold discussions with the parties to the constitutional declaration of August 17, 2019, to re-establish the civilian-military partnership.

Ethiopia's Tigray taps Muslim past in propaganda push
That'll end well.
[AlAhram] Rebels from Æthiopia's Tigray region are drawing on early Islamic history in an Arabic-language propaganda push to rally solidarity among Moslems online for their battle against the government.

Thousands of people have been killed since the conflict erupted last year between the government in Addis Ababa and its foes, the rebel Tigrayan People's Liberation Front (TPLF).

The overwhelmingly Christian Tigrayan people account for less than six percent of Æthiopia's 110 million people, and the media-savvy TPLF rebels may hope to win over Moslem allies among anti-government forces in the country's complex multi-ethnic population as well as generate sympathy abroad.

Britain
92 terrorists could be released from jail in the next year: Pressure mounts on parole board to keep fiends behind bars as they reach half-way point in sentences
  • Several of 92 active terror cases could come before Parole Board next year

  • Terrorists must serve two thirds of sentence before they are eligible for release

  • Cases under review include Nazam Hussain,
...in a 9-man Al Qaeda bomb squad of Brit nationals from Bangladesh and Pakistan, the man from Stoke-on-Trent wanted to go to Pakistan’s Kashmir for training...
    Jack Coulson
...merely a Nazi-loving bomb maker, not a jihadi...
    and Rangzieb Ahmed
...captured and reportedly tortured in Pakistan by the ISI in 2006 before being turned over to the London authorities, the Pakistan-born Brit was a member of Harkat-ul-Mujahideen and Al Qaeda’s top man in the UK...
  • Hussain jailed for plotting attacks with London Bridge terrorist Usman Khan
...the Pakistani-Brit jailbird who in November, 2019 ran off from a crime conference to knife all the passersby he could reach on London Bridge before being killed by a hero wielding a narwhal tusk. As a precocious 15 year old drop-out he’d gotten on terrorist watchlists for preaching hate with Anjem Chaudary’s al-Muhajiroun on the streets of Stoke-on-Trent. Released in 2018 after serving time for plotting to bomb the London stock exchange for Al Qaeda in Arabia, but ISIS claimed he died while running amok in their name...
Emergency laws were passed in February blocking the automatic release of terrorists behind bars after two attacks were carried out in a three-month period by extremists who had recently been freed from jail.
Also mentioned in the article:
Abdalraouf Abdallah
... Libyan-Brit paraplegic as a result of “Tripoli Brigade” jihading in Libya, he organized emigration to ISIS in Syria for the Manchester Libya crowd...
was jailed after he assisted his brother Mohammed Abdallah
...who realized the ambitions of his wheelchair-bound brother by becoming an ISIS sniper...
in travelling to Syria to join Islamic State. The extremist was recalled to prison for breaching the conditions of his licence earlier this year, and was visited in prison by Manchester Arena suicide bomber Salman Abedi.

Jawad Akbar
...connected to Anjem Choudary's Al-Muhajiroun, their little Al Qaeda cell planned to set off fertilizer bombs across England...
is one of five terrorists who plotted to bomb the Bluewater shopping centre in Dartford, Kent, and the Ministry of Sound nightclub in hLondon in 2004.

Aras Hamid,
...leader of a three-man cell of Kurds connected to the Al Noor mosque in Birmingham...
who tried to leave the UK to join fighters with so-called Islamic State.

Since the introduction of the Terrorist Offenders (Restriction of Early Release) Act 2020, a total of 117 cases have been referred to the Parole Board. To date, 11 have been freed and 14 refused release from prison.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
IDF's 'smart and deadly' robot project held up by slew of issues
What is a 'slew'?
[Jpost] Officers in the IDF's Southern Command claim that the robotics project on the Gaza border, which aims to locate and attack terrorists without exposing IDF soldiers to the Palestinian side, is not progressing according to expectations. This is despite the fact that in the summer the IDF took public pride in the project. "There are quite a few difficulties."

A "smart and deadly border" is a resource-intensive project that aims to integrate robots that will replace soldiers along the border with the Gaza Strip. The project includes advanced means of observation, quadcopters collecting information along the border and attacking and remotely controlled vehicles patrolling along the border fence along the road in order to detect infiltrations and suspicious elements.

Last summer, the Gaza division publicly boasted of a project that aims to reduce as much as possible the exposure of IDF fighters to fire from the Palestinian side, which usually includes anti-tank missiles or sniper fire, and even scenarios involving terrorists coming out of tunnels near the border. But according to officers in the Southern Command, the project is not progressing according to expectations: "There are quite a few technological difficulties that they currently do not seem to be overcoming. And more than that there are quite a few debates within the military about how it should proceed. The arguments are holding up the project."

Rare Israeli permits enable 500 Gazans to celebrate Christmas in Bethlehem
[IsraelTimes] For Milad Ayyad, the trip to the city sacred to Christians, his first outside Gazoo since childhood, was ’like traveling from one country to another’.

The last time Milad Ayyad traveled outside of the Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with an iron fist by Hamaswith about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
Strip he was just 10 years old, but for Christmas this year he received a "priceless" gift to visit Bethlehem.
