[HindustanTimes] The incident occurred during Trump’s visit to watch the University of Alabama football game. The balloon, which is over 20 feet (6.1 meters) tall, was set up in a nearby park.
A towering "Baby Trump" protest balloon was knifed and deflated by someone unhappy with its appearance during President Donald Trump ...Perhaps no man has ever had as much fun being president of the US... ’s Saturday trip to Alabama, organizers said.
The incident occurred during Trump’s visit to watch the University of Alabama football game. The balloon, which is over 20 feet (6.1 meters) tall, was set up in a nearby park.
Jim Girvan, the organizer of a group that "adopts" out the Trump balloons for protests, said a man charged the balloon with a knife and cut an 8-foot-long (2.4-meter-long) gash in the back. Girvan said the unidentified man was taken into custody. Tuscaloosa police did not immediately respond to a request for more details.
The orange, diaper-clad, cellphone-clutching caricature of the president is often taken to Trump appearances as a way to protest him.
Baby Trump first rose over London when local activists brainstormed a way to troll Trump. Now several groups raise money to bring balloon replicas around the U.S.
Robert Kennedy, a volunteer "baby sitter" who brought the balloon to Tuscaloosa, said the balloon immediately began to sag after it was cut.
The day had been going mostly smoothly, Kennedy said. Some people yelled "Trump 2020" as they passed while others posed for selfies with the balloon. But then Kennedy said a man sidled up on the back of the balloon and attacked it with a knife. He bravely ran away but was caught by coppers, Kennedy said.
Kennedy said he’s accompanied Baby Trump to many appearances and never witnessed an attack on the balloon, although someone did stab a "Baby Trump" balloon in London earlier this year.
"It is rare to get that kind of anger," Kennedy said.
Thirty-two-year-old Hoyt Hutchinson of Tuscaloosa cut an eight-foot gash in the side of the 20-foot inflatable balloon. As he tried to run away, Tuscaloosa police caught him. Hutchinson was charged with a felony – first-degree criminal mischief – and held on a $2,500 bond.

Great game. Even greater reception for POTUS & FLOTUS.
Anyone else getting the sense that the (T)ide has turned (sorry, Bama)-- seriously, that things are starting to break in Trump's direction?
Baghdadi & his successor--titzup shortly after Trump's bold decision re Syria.
Impeachment-- complete and utter farce. Zero impact on public opinion, zero chance of success, Pelosi's now distancing herself and trying to rush it through and get it over with ASAP.
Economy-- hasn't been stronger in a generation.
China's capitulating. The Wall's being built. Brexit is finally moving forward with Johnson preparing for a big win Dec 12.
Maybe LSU's snapping it's losing streak win was a sign that America is snapping its 30-year losing streak?

According to local reporting, the cost to bring the Baby Trump balloon to the event was $4,000 and $7882 was raised. $3882 will be donated to the Equal Justice Initiative in Montgomery.
A GoFundMe page was set up for Hutchinson’s legal fees and restitution. The goal was set at $6,000. As I write this Sunday morning, $20,256 has been raised.

Wonder if he would have been caught if instead of stabbing he'd used a wrist-rocket to silently put dozens of holes in the thing,

The irony here. A man called Robert Kennedy hauling around a giant balloon which looks like a 'baby' version of a real estate tycoon. And fails to protect even that.
[Spectator] While the lawyers representing Eric Ciaramella, the alleged "whistleblower" in the Trump impeachment fiasco, describe him as having spent his entire career in "apolitical civil servant positions," the truth is that Eric Ciaramella has been involved in radical political behavior throughout his life - including his years at Yale.
WTF has Obama wrought in America ?
In fact, long before he was digging up dirt with the DNC's Alexandra Chalupa about President Trump's mythical collusion with Russia, Ciaramella was involved in leading a protest over what he believed was the poor treatment of Bassam Frangieh, a radical professor of Arabic Studies at Yale. On April 15, 2005, then first-year Yale student Ciaramella dressed in all white to lead a contingent of ten similarly dressed first-year Yale Arabic students to the offices of the Provost and the President of the university to demand that the university provide an incentive to encourage Frangieh to stay at Yale. The students were unhappy because Frangieh had decided earlier in the school year to accept a tenure-track position at the University of Delaware.
Ciaramella helped to organize a campus-wide letter-writing campaign on behalf of Frangieh which "identified flaws in the administration's policies regarding language instructors at Yale." According to the Yale Daily News, Bassam Frangieh was looking for an opportunity to teach more of the classes that he would like to teach, according to one of the protesters: "His specialty is Arabic language and literature, and he wanted to teach some classes on style and poetry." A week after the protest, Yale’s administration announced that they had "upped the ante with an offer competitive enough to keep one of its star language instructors from leaving Yale.
It is likely that Bassam Frangieh wanted to use literature to be able to shape Yale's undergraduates' views on what he called the "heroic Arabic poet-martyrs" battling against the unjust occupation in Palestine. In 2000, Frangieh published a chapter romanticizing terrorism in a book entitled Tradition, Modernity, and Postmodernity in Arabic Literature. Ciaramella's favorite Yale Arabic professor praised the heroism of Abd al Rahim Mahmud, the "first Arab poet-martyr." A paleostinian whatsit beloved of intifaders over the world
Mahmud, who is often used to inspire terrorism and suicide bombings among Arab youth, was described by Frangieh as "carrying his soul in the palm of his hand," as he "threw himself into the cavern of death." Romanticizing his terrorism, Frangieh recalls Mahmud's "premature death at age 35, fighting a battle in an attempt to keep Palestine free from foreign occupation, [which]brought dignity to the hearts of his people. Through his death he eliminated the gap between words and action... he shall remain a symbol of heroism and pride for his people."
Do read the entire thing by Anne Hendershott at the Spectator. I tell you, my mind was blown.
Follow the threads in this and elsewhere in Twitter. It seems YouTube (Google) censors are looking for the Whistleblowers (Eric Ciaramella) name if found then censored. If not found but they don't understand the podcast then it is censored too until the poster makes it understandable to them. More than this man's PodCast are shown censored in this Twitter thread.
To think I was considering switching to YouTubeTV ...
This is something I've never seen before. YouTube has forced Sunday's podcast episode into private mode, giving me a list of nonsensical instructions. https://t.co/QZDFKuXEHipic.twitter.com/U6wCiV4Bcj

Asking for a friend who occasionally streams or "timeshifts" non-premium YT videos: What might that be costing YT or ISP, per GB? I'm sure it varies very widely, but maybe somebody could mention a range? We're talking residential cable, close-in suburb of big city. Content is mostly talks and docs, typically new-ish, ~60 min, 720, four to six-figure viewcount (thought some of that might be relevant to caching).
#2
Depends on your bitrate and resolution but assuming 4GB per hour of video content, the baseline would be s.t. like $0.03-0.04 per GB, or $0.12-0.15 per hour.
Additional costs per GET request might bump this up another couple of pennies fepemding on the traffic.
Here's pricing (not costs) from competitor Amazon for their AWS Elemental encoding and storage service offering.

Lex, thanks for getting me started on this. I'll do some digging, but it looks as if the damage amounts to a few bucks per month, so I won't be starving the beast singlehanded. It's disgraceful that it's 2019 and I don't know these things off the top of my head. Felt especially shameless asking since, while not a geek, I absorbed a lot of that culture (FAQs, doing your homework before asking, etc.) decades ago. Again, thanks for humoring me.
IT BEGINS: Now Facebook Is Threatening to Delete Accounts that Publish Trump Campaign Rallies — Saying It’s “Clickbait”
UPDATE— On Friday Facebook ADMITTED they were deleting any mention of the anti-Trump CIA whistleblower.
Facebook admitted to preventing Americans from seeing the truth. Facebook admitted to working with the DNC.
[AmericanThinker] The above headline sounds like hyperbole, some crazed right-winger exaggerating things, right?
Not this time.
Chesa Boudin, who was quite literally Hugo Chavez's trusted propagandist, translator and advisor, Cuba-groomed from the start, is now commanding an apparently unbeatable lead in San Francisco's district attorney's race.

In a way, how does it matter? It's not like there will be any conservatives for this individual to persecute under color of authority. Going to go even easier on criminals and druggies? Not sure there's much more room to go in that direction there.

She shows no grasp of understanding how things will work after she tears down the system of civility.
Reminds me of this bit from A Man For All Seasons:
Roper: So now you’d give the Devil benefit of law?
More: Yes. What would you do? Cut a great road through the law to get after the Devil?
Roper: I’d cut down every law in England to do that!
More: Oh? And, when the last law was down, and the Devil turned round on you – where would you hide, Roper, the laws all being flat? This country’s planted thick with laws from coast to coast – man’s laws, not God’s – and, if you cut them down – and you’re just the man to do it – d’you really think you could stand upright in the winds that would blow then? Yes, I’d give the Devil benefit of law, for my own safety’s sake.
