[ShabelleMedia] A heavy battle was reported to take place on Thursday morning in the village of Aag Sibiri under the Farlibah town of the Hiran region.
The fight which was between the Somali forces backed by clan militia on one side and the al-Shabaab ... Somalia's version of the Taliban, functioning as an arm of al-Qaeda... group came after the holy warriors attacked an army post in the rural locality.
The casualties of the battle that lasted for one hour remained unverified.
An officer told Radio Shabelle that they repulsed the attack by the al-Shabaab and that the Mawisleyda fighters were still in the area.
The attack comes as the al-Shabaab has a lot of control in the western areas of the Hiran region after the group was removed from all the eastern areas during a military offensive.
Last year, the community in Hiraan mobilized themselves to push back against the al-Shabaab group, emboldened at a crucial moment by Æthiopian military support.
The government deployed armed forces to Hiraan that worked in concert with Hawadle forces to flush holy warriors out of villages and towns in August.
The initial focus was on securing the main road from Mogadishu to Beledweyne and a triangular patch of territory between Beledweyne, Mahas, and Bulo Burte.
By October, the army and militias had freed much of Hiraan east of the Shabelle River from al-Shabaab’s physical control.

[GEO.TV] A court in Qatar ...an emirate on the east coast of the Arabian Peninsula. It sits on some really productive gas and oil deposits, which produces the highest per capita income in the world. They piss it all away on religion, financing the Moslem Brotherhood and several al-Qaeda affiliates. Home of nutbag holy manYusuf al-Qaradawi... has handed death penalties to eight former Indian Navy officers, who were working for a Qatari company, for selling military secrets to Israel — sending New Delhi on a diplomatic roller-coaster ride as it has vowed to challenge the verdict.
The Indian foreign ministry, while deeming the judgment "shocking," acknowledged the confidential nature of the proceedings and expressed its intent to contest the case.
These individuals, including officers who had previously commanded significant Indian warships, were employed by Dahra Global Technologies and Consultancy Services, a private company providing training and related services to Qatar's armed forces.
Sources suggest that some were involved in a project concerning Italian technology-based midget submarines with stealth features.
The accused have been detained since August 2022, and New Delhi has been striving to secure their release, having granted consular access to them.
The trial took place in March, culminating in the recent death sentence ...the barbaric practice of sentencing a murderer to be punished for as long as his/her/its victim is dead... s.
In response to the sentences, New Delhi said: "We have initial information that the Court of First Instance of Qatar has today passed a judgement in the case involving 8 Indian employees of Al Dahra company."
They added that they were deeply shocked by the verdict of the death penalty and were awaiting the detailed judgement. "We are in touch with the family members and the legal team, and we are exploring all legal options," they added.
"We are very important to this case and have followed it closely. We will continue to extend all consular and legal assistance. We will also take up the verdict with Qatari authorities.
Due to the confidential nature of proceedings of this case, it would not be appropriate to make any further comment at this juncture."

[YouTube] Police officers hit with bike while making arrest in Birmingham
Shocking footage shows three police officers being battered over the head with a bicycle after violence erupted along a city street in broad daylight.
West Midlands Police were called to Villa Road, in Lozells, Birmingham, to arrest two men outside a shop before the chaotic scenes unfolded this week.
Cops can be seen calling for back-up as they struggled to detain one of the men, who leaves a police officer lying on the ground with a head injury during the struggle.
[American Greatness] An immigration think tank has filed a lawsuit against the Biden Administration’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS), alleging that the agency has been deliberately withholding crucial information on terror suspects who have crossed the southern border.
As reported by Breitbart, the Center for Immigration Studies (CIS) sued the DHS after the agency refused to respond to the group’s prior Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request, demanding access to "records reflecting the nationalities and group affiliations of the record-breaking 270 illegal border-crossers who have flagged on the FBI terrorism watch since 2021."
The FOIA request was made back in August, but no response ever came from the DHS.
"CIS believed filing this suit was necessary for multiple reasons," said CIS’s Chief FOIA Counsel Colin Farnsworth. "There is a heightened public interest in the requested records, and there are indications [Customs and Border Patrol] is imposing unreasonable delays on the processing of those records."
Ever since Joe Biden took office, the federal government has deliberately refused to enforce basic immigration laws and has allowed millions of illegal aliens to flood into the country, as part of the Democratic Party’s broader desire to give them amnesty in order to guarantee new voters for the party. One of the additional concerns regarding this flow of illegals is that foreign terrorists will take advantage of the open border to sneak into the country and plot another terrorist attack against the U.S.
In the nearly three years since Biden first took office, roughly 300 illegal aliens have been arrested who appear on the government’s "Terrorist watch List." The DHS warned in an internal memo that this pattern represents a serious threat to America’s national security, with officials admitting that they "expect continued high numbers of migrant encounters over the next year" and that "terrorists and criminal actors may exploit the elevated flow and increasingly complex security environment to enter the United States."
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] Israel used a swarm of tanks, bulldozers and APCs to launch a targeted night assault against Hamas targets in Gaza on Wednesday night in its biggest incursion since the terror group's October 7 atrocities.
Ahead of a suspected imminent ground incursion by Israeli Defence Forces (IDF), soldiers burst through border walls separating the Gaza Strip from Israel using armoured bulldozers before claiming to have taken out military targets.
The IDF said it suffered no casualties in the operation to 'prepare the battlefield' after a brutal, fortnight-long siege on the Palestinian territory.

after a brutal, fortnight-long siege on the Palestinian territory
brutal = the proper way to deal with brutes.
What Palestinian territory? It was conquered by Egypt in 1948 (consolation price for NOT succeeding in throwing Jews into the sea). And, until Egypt lost it after repeating their attempt at genocide in 1967, there was no mention of its Palestiniashness [sp?].
Historical note: PLO was invented by Soviet Union in 1964. And its chater specifically excluded Gaza & "West bank" - held by Egypt and Jordan respectively - from the list of "Palestinian Lands".
With Hezbollah? That doesn’t seem to have done them much good.
[ENGLISH.ALMANAR.LB] Hamas ...a regional Iranian catspaw,... Deputy Chief Sheikh Saleh Arouri stressed on Wednesday that the military capabilities of the Paleostinian Resistance® have not been affected by the Zionist aggression on Gazoo ...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with an iron fist by Hamas with about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response... Making phone remarks via al-Manar TV, Sheikh Arouri stressed that, if the Israeli enemy waged a ground offensive against Gaza, the Paleostinian Resistance® will turn the Strip’s tragedies into joys.
Sheikh Arouri underlined the Western coverage of the Zionist massacres in Gaza, affirming that punishing the Israeli enemy is inevitable and highlighting the role of the West Bank resistance in this regard.
Sheikh Arouri emphasized that Hamas deals with the foreigners it detains as guests, adding that only the Israeli captives will be released upon a swap deal.
Hamas Deputy Chief underlined the coordination between the Paleostinian Resistance® Movement and Hezbollah on the joint battle for al-Quds, unveiling a meeting with Secretary General Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah in the first day of the Operation al-Aqsa Flood.
Sheikh Arouri added that Hezbollah are engaging in heroic confrontations with the Israeli enemy on Leb ...an Iranian satrapy currently ruled by Hassan Nasrallah situated on the eastern Mediterranean, conveniently adjacent to Israel. Formerly inhabited by hardy Phoenecian traders, its official language is now Arabic, with the usual unpleasant side effects. The Leb civil war, between 1975 and 1990, lasted a little over 145 years and produced 120,000 fatalities. The average length of a ceasefire was measured in seconds. The Lebs maintain a precarious sectarian balance among Shiites, Sunnis, and about a dozen flavors of Christians, plus Armenians, Georgians, and who knows what else? It is the home of the original Hezbollah, which periodically starts a war with the Zionist Entity, gets Beirut pounded to rubble, and then declares victory and has a parade. The Lebs have the curious habit of periodically murdering their heads of state or prime ministers... border, adding that the Resistance® Party considers Gaza battle as his.
Hezbollah Media Relations announced on Wednesday that Sayyed Nasrallah had met with Arouri in addition to Islamic Jihad ...created after many members of the Egyptian Moslem Brotherhood decided the organization was becoming too moderate. Operations were conducted out of Egypt until 1981 when the group was exiled after the assassination of President Anwar Sadat. They worked out of Gaza until they were exiled to Lebanon in 1987, where they clove tightly to Hezbollah. In 1989 they moved to Damascus, where they remain a subsidiary of Hezbollah... Secretary General Ziad Nakhalah to assess the recent developments in the Gaza Strip, tracing back to the commencement of Operation al-Aqsa Flood and its subsequent ramifications at all levels, while also addressing the ongoing confrontations along the Lebanese-Paleostinian border.
[MAIL] This is the moment the deputy head of Hamas intelligence who helped plots the Israel terror attack is killed by an Israeli air strike.
In footage posted to X, a missile strikes several buildings which swiftly collapse, causing clouds of smoke to billow into the sky.
The Israel Defence Forces (IDF), which shared the video, said the air strike killed Shadi Barud, the deputy head of Hamas intelligence who they accuse of being behind the October 7 attacks that killed hundreds of Israeli civilians.
An IDF spokesperson said on X: 'Fighter jets, guided by accurate intelligence from the Amman and the Shin Bet, today killed the deputy head of Hamas's intelligence department, Shadi Barud.
'As part of his previous position as head of the attack department at the Hamas operations headquarters, Baruf planned with Yahya Sinwar, the leader of Hamas in the Gaza Strip the attacks that were carried out in the murderous raid in Israel on October 7.
The police are currently dealing with rocket debris falling in the vicinity of Rehovot, the police spokesperson said on Thursday evening. The rocket debris damaged an electrical pole.
[Breitbart] The U.S. military launched airstrikes early Friday on two locations in eastern Syria linked to Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps, the Pentagon said, in retaliation for a slew of drone and missile attacks against U.S. bases and personnel in the region that began early last week.
The U.S. strikes reflect the Biden administration’s determination to maintain a delicate balance. The U.S. wants to hit Iranian-backed groups suspected of targeting the U.S. as strongly as possible to deter future aggression, possibly fueled by Israel’s war against Hamas, while also working to avoid inflaming the region and provoking a wider conflict.
Information about the specific targets and other details were not yet provided.
According to the Pentagon, there have been at least 12 attacks on U.S. bases and personnel in Iraq and four in Syria since Oct. 17. Air Force Brig. Gen. Pat Ryder said 21 U.S. personnel were injured in two of those assaults that used drones to target al-Asad Airbase in Iraq and al-Tanf Garrison in Syria.
In a statement, Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said the “precision self-defense strikes are a response to a series of ongoing and mostly unsuccessful attacks against U.S. personnel in Iraq and Syria by Iranian-backed militia groups that began on October 17.”
He said President Joe Biden directed the narrowly tailored strikes “to make clear that the United States will not tolerate such attacks and will defend itself, its personnel, and its interests.” And he added that the operation was separate and distinct from Israel’s war against Hamas.
The Biden administration has not accused Iran of having a direct role in the Oct. 7 Hamas attack on Israel and has said it appears so far that Tehran was not aware of it beforehand. But the U.S. has noted that Iran has long supported Hamas and has raised concerns that Iran and its proxies could turn the conflict into a wider war.
Austin said the U.S. does not seek a broader conflict, but if Iranian proxy groups continue, the U.S. won’t hesitate to take additional action to protect its forces.
According to the Pentagon, all the U.S. personnel hurt in the militant attacks received minor injuries and all returned to duty. In addition, a contractor suffered a cardiac arrest and died while seeking shelter from a possible drone attack.
The retaliatory strikes came as no surprise. Officials at the Pentagon and the White House have made it clear for the past week that the U.S. would respond, with Ryder saying again Thursday that it would be “at the time and place of our choosing.”
“I think we’ve been crystal clear that we maintain the inherent right of defending our troops and we will take all necessary measures to protect our forces and our interests overseas,” he told reporters during a Pentagon briefing earlier in the day.
Biden said Wednesday that he warned Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Iran’s supreme leader, that if Tehran continues to “move against” U.S. forces in the Middle East, “we will respond.”
The latest spate of strikes by the Iranian-linked groups came in the wake of a deadly explosion at a Gaza hospital, triggering protests in a number of Muslim nations. The Israeli military has relentlessly attacked Gaza in retaliation for the devastating Hamas rampage in southern Israel nearly three weeks ago, but Israel has denied responsibility for the al-Ahli hospital blast and the U.S. has said its intelligence assessment found that Tel Aviv was not to blame.
The U.S., including the Pentagon, has repeatedly said any strike response by America would be directly tied to the attacks on the troops, and not connected to the war between Israel and Hamas. Such retaliation and strikes against Iranian targets in Syria after similar attacks on U.S. bases are routine.

Perhaps I have been intellectually lazy in this regard, but have I am not sure what our interests are in Syria and Iraq. Why are we there and why do we do we risk exposing our troops and contractors to "mostly unsuccessful" attacks? Because now "they," whoever "they" are will respond to our response because we are clearly spread out in exposed positions with vulnerable LOCs.

what our interests are in Syria and Iraq. Why are we there
President Obama sent us in to support the Kurds in putting down ISIS. Also to support the groups rebelling against the Assad government in Syria, and stiffen the spine of Iraqi government fighting ISIS.

Yeah, Re: Kurds/Iraq v ISIS, I understand why we were there 15 years ago, but then Obama pulled us out of Iraq and disaster ensued, a Caliphate was established, and then destroyed when Trump took office.
Why are we fighting against Assad/Russia in Syria and why are we in Iraq now? In the present day? Iraq is Shia led, and factions there, led and influenced by Iran, will turn on us. There is great risk to our folks there for what return?

in 1979 iran invaded and occupied US territory, the US embassy.why dont we invade and take, say, chah bahar, and get out of iraq. This would also provide a landing place for palestinians fleeing gaza and west-bank

why dont we invade and take, say, chah bahar, and get out of iraq.
Because the CIA in 2003 released to the New York Times, et al their annual country report for Iran guaranteeing that the Mad Mullahs had completely given up working on nuclear weapons, and therefore they ought not be invaded, deliberately spiking any possibility that President George W. Bush could sell the idea of attacking Iran next.
And the Democrats have cosseted Iran as a tool against the Republicans ever since.

When I read at this site the post from Fred that our troops had endured a week of attacks with concussions and traumatic brain injuries only to be immediately put back on duty with military no response to the attackers, I immediately contacted Senator Ted Cruz and House Representative Beth Van Duyne. While speaking to the staff of each, they told me they had no heard of these situations. I instructed them where to go to get the information and to their credit they assured me they would immediately contact Ted and Beth with the information I provided them.
Two days later the Airforce finally struck back at the attackers.
Your are going to have to work with the right people. Biden is too far gone and the White House Staff are as corrupt as hell and our troops need us more than ever now.
[ENGLISH.ALMANAR.LB] Eight Syrian Army soldiers were martyred and seven others sustained injuries at dawn as the Israeli occupation forces attacked several sites in Syria’s Daraa countryside.
State-run SANA news agency cited a military source as stating that at around 01:45 at dawn, the Israeli enemy carried out an aerial aggression from the occupied Syrian Golan, targeting several military sites in Daraa countryside.
’Israel’ frequently attacks the positions of Syria’s military and its allies since 2011, when the Arab country found itself in the grip of rampant foreign-backed violence and terrorism.

In an interview with al-Jadeed Lebanese TV channel, Matar said that the Zionist entity "is in a state of madness over the fiercest blow the resistance has dealt to in October 7th."
"Zionist entity’s northern front has been considered as one of the world’s most fortified fronts. Though, the Islamic Resistance® in Lebanon killed at least 17 soldiers and destroyed a number of tanks and armored vehicles," said the holder of a PhD degree in International Relations.
"Until yesterday, the Islamic Resistance® killed 17 soldiers, injured 55 others, destroyed more than 10 vehicles in 89 operations that hit 40 Israeli targets," Matar said, noting that dozens of surveillance systems across the border were disabled due to the resistance attacks.
