[Daily Mail, Where America Gets Its News] Partially redacted documents reveal how FBI ignored red flags about the dossier
They applied for warrants targeting Donald Trump based on the 'dodgy dossier'
However, they had already accepted that author Christopher Steele was biased
Justice Dept's Bruce Ohr kept in contact with Steele after he was fired by the FBI

'The FISA warrant against Carter Page was a fraud, I believe. The counter-intelligence investigation is something we have to look at very closely,' Graham said.
Of course it was a 'fraud.' It was little more than a vehicle, a cover for action.

So person A makes an accusation against person B, and the FBI is told that person A is deeply prejudiced against person B. Without investigating the sources of that accusation the FBI goes directly to investigating person B and all his associates, for things not even related to the accusations.
Does this work for both sides? If you were to make an accusation against a prominent Democrat politician, B, would the FBI, without checking at all on the sources for the accusation, begin an investigation of B and all his friends and associates for all possible crimes?
Perhaps you should try it and see.
[COMMDIGINEWS] July congressional hearings reveal that DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz’s team conducted a two-day interview in London with British ex-spy Remington Christopher Steele. Thus beginning to unpeel the onion on DOJ abuse of powers. Steele is the author of the unsubstantiated and salacious dossier attacking President Trump, creating the Russia Hoax.
The truth is coming home to roost.
The facts emerging are that Steele’s anti-Trump bias was well known at or about the November 2016 presidential election. Despite the many red flags, the DOJ, including operative Bruce Ohr’s bias, the initial FISA applications did rely on the dossier. A dossier that holds no truth.
Attorney General William Barr and the front man for John Durham both said that the focus of their investigation would be on "unauthorized surveillance" and "political surveillance". The Durham investigation will inevitably focus on John Brennan ...director of the CIA under the Obama administration. One of the deeper dwelling denizens of the Deep State, possibly even the guy who lit the match that launched the Russiagate coup attempt... , James Clapper, and JamesThe spine of the FBI is the rule of law Comey The disgraced, except in his own mind, former head of the FBI... . The implications of what comes out will be earthshaking.
Before the FBI applied for its first FISA warrant, bureau officials were battling with a senior Justice Department official who had "continued concerns" about the "possible bias" of a source pivotal to the application. (FBI clashed with DOJ over potential ’bias’ of source for surveillance warrant: McCabe-Page texts) Nonetheless, Jim Comey signed off on the FISA warrant applications to surveil the Trump campaign.
This despite "an individual with links to the dossier" that was desperate that Donald Trump ...His ancestors didn't own any slaves... lose the eleciton. Once Trump won, Steele, Strozk, Comey, and Ohr were all "passionate" about him not ascending to the presidency.
[PJMEDIA] Jahangir "John" Turan, the owner of a New York City art gallery, said he was "jumped" in Manhattan on July 31 by a group of about 15 teens who yelled obscenities like "f--- Trump" while slamming his head against a post and stomping on him. He reportedly suffered a broken eye socket.
Turan told 1010 WINS Radio that he received a FedEx box Thursday with the hat signed by the president and a letter from the Trump/Pence 2020 campaign slamming the alleged assault as "unwarranted, disturbing and gruesome."
"Any physical assault on any person expressing their First Amendment Rights is completely unacceptable, and we were deeply disturbed to hear of this senseless act," the letter reads. "President Trump and Vice President Pence work every day to improve the lives of ALL Americans -- regardless of who they voted for," it continues. "The violent and criminal act against you and your political beliefs was wrong. As you recover, be reminded of the fact that millions of Americans have you in their thoughts."
"I was shocked, I was in awe, I couldn't believe they sent me something like this," Turan told 1010 WINS. "I opened it up and it was a letter from the campaign stating that they support what I'm doing and what happened to me was not right and as gratitude, the president sent me a signed MAGA hat."
On top of that, he also received a call from the president's son, Eric, and his wife Lara a few hours later.
"They wanted to tell me how sorry they were for what happened to me," Turan said. "They thanked me for supporting President Trump and if there was anything they could to help me out, they would. And he also wanted to invite me out to the next big event ... His exact words were, 'when the big guy is back in town...'"
There have not yet been any arrests in connection with the assault.
Turan told the media in a presser last week that he would have to think twice before wearing his MAGA hat in public again.
"No one should get beaten the way I did for who they believe in or who they support," he told 1010 WINS. "I'm not trying to politicize it. If you like a Democrat candidate or if you like President Trump, you should walk around freely in the United States and not get beaten down."

America desperately needs a right-wing militia.

Not sure the legal basis for this since I would think censorship is a form of free speech and social media are not government agencies. May be grounds against it as it relates to political speech though - such censorship could be regarded as a form of campaign contribution. This will take a while for the courts to figure out.

It most certainly is legal. They are current protected by section 230 of the CDA, they cannot pick and choose what they will allow or disallow on the basis of whim. They do not enforce their standards across the board, the left gets a pass and the Right gets censored. They are in violation of their sweetheart deal. I want them dismembered.

[NY Post] Convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein is dead of an apparent suicide, law enforcement sources said Saturday. I ask you, who could have seen this one coming ?
A gurney carrying a man who looked like Epstein was wheeled out of the Manhattan Correctional Center around 7:30 a.m. The ambulance went to Fort Marcy Park New York Downtown Hospital.
The incident comes two weeks after Epstein, 66, was placed on suicide watch after he was found nearly unconscious in his cell with injuries to his neck. Who here had August 10th in the dead pool?

Rantburg called it.
Awfully convenient for a lot of people he died under a suicide watch. I guess the guards were told just to watch him do it. Or help.
#18
If he was a slick as Willy, death drop documents soon. Heck they may even be real but the death sort of kills the refutation process for whom ever is in them.
#19
There were a lot of powerful and rich at-risk-people possibly involved in this sex and sex trafficking scandal across the world who wanted Epstein dead. Who would be capable?
#23
Coincidence that the latest accusations target top US politicians and moneymen - including a respected former senator (Mitchell) and a former Dem presidential candidate & Hispanic governor (Richardson)?
And that's only what one of the girls revealed.
This guy's tentacles went all over the Establishment. We need to see those videos, and also all the money flows.
This movie ain't over. Hell, the movie trailer isn't even over.

Who do you think is really driving it? My money is on Hillary. She is purely evil, power-mongering, an acolyte of Alinsky and Soros.
She has to protect her position at any cost - see Benghazi for example. And that includes protecting Bill. Probably part of the deal Bill has with her for being her beard and booster. Bill was supposed to get her to be President (with some help from Soros and the hard left power brokers). Trump really threw a spanner into the works. She no longer has the ability to actively use the government to cover up all the things she did in anticipation of being elected.
If it was all left to Billy -- and Hillary was not in the picture after Juanita Broaddrick -- I'd bet you lunch at McDonald's that Bill would still be in Arkansas hanging out eating chicken wings and trying to score with suburban housewives at the local Applebees. Without her pushing him, I think her might have ened up as the good ole boy divorced playboy former Governor (nothing more) - as long as he could get laid or a BJ, and minor celeb status.

And these revolting hypocrites preen and posture endlessly about their supposed moral superiority to the Orange One, to Netanyahu, Viktor Orban, Putin ....

Actually I find this a bit curious. Any half-competent blackmailer (is there any doubt here?) makes sure that his victims understand that the blackmailer's untimely demise will result in release of the bad stuff. Did the blackmail targets decide they had nothing left to lose and could manage/suppress the release?
Especially if he yelled Allan's Snackbar right before he died.

Jail cells can be made suicide-resistant but not suicide proof. Article about this:
https://www.bbc.com/news/magazine-23951747
You limit the ways a person can commit suicide. You remove anchor points and you limit materials that can be used for ligature.
Barr says he is livid that this could happen to a prisoner in Federal custody and this will be thoroughly investigated. The questions for Barr is suicide or murder? If suicide, who dropped the ball. Is there evidence from surveillance cameras? Who was charged with watching him?

The people who inconvenience the royals do tend to end up devoid of life, only have to look at Diana to see how that works and remember the spooks of Britain all have a crown on their emblems, they work for the crown first and foremost.

Does anybody REALLY think we are going to vote our way out of this?
Yes. The Clintons will never hold power again, even if they never go to jail, and will never again have a fraction of the earning power they had through 2016. Messers. Brennan, Clapper, etc. will never work for the government again, and will be resented for losing, even if they never go to jail. And so forth. Also, behind the scenes the executive branch is shrinking in terms — slightly in terms of manpower, much more significantly in terms of the number of regulations on the books. And all the while oil and natural gas production are inceasing, permanently changing the balance of power in both at home and abroad.

Fair enough TW but when Texas becomes Mexico North all bets are off. No more Republican presidents and hence 100% liberal supreme court. It's just a matter of time.
#45
Whoops! Not to mention the sheer number of Constitution-oriented, conservative judges approved at all levels up through the Supreme Court, and more to come.
And China may well implode from unsecured debt, after which it will be limited in its ability to influence events abroad, while Iran is not so slowly being strangled by American sanctions, no matter how certain European countries scramble to cover the treaty they worked so hard to make happen. While all the bad guys have criminal enterprises providing a steady cash flow, they all prefer the ease of acquiring funds legitimately, or so it seems to me.
#46
Fair enough TW but when Texas becomes Mexico North all bets are off.
More so than it is now, jpal, and has been for a few decades? Texas and the border counties are where Mexico’s narco bosses park their families as much as they can. They want law and order and stability on our side of the border, so they can create mayhem on the southern side without having to worry.
I do not believe it is a matter of time, any more than I believe Socialism is inevitable. I just read the other day that millions of names have quietly been removed from voter rolls this past year, mostly in the form of non-responses to “If you, dear Voter, do not return this post card in a timely manner confirming that you still live at this address, your name will be deregistered.” So that, too, will be a difference.
#47
I was talking 50 to 100 years from now. Conservative judges appointed by Trump are nice and all but they tend to die off like we all do. What I'm saying is Texas is going Democrat in the not too distant future and it's over then as far as the judiciary is concerned. Unless future Dem presidents decide to start appointing strict constructionists to the courts.
#48
Fifty to 100 years? I can’t think that far ahead, jpal. We’ll have done our best — if our children and grandchildren are not willing to do what needs to be done, that will be their choice, as the choices in this time are ours.
#49
Why wouldn't it have been suicide? Somebody carefully explained to him what was waiting for him in the general population once he was convicted. The rest was up to him.
I'm agnostic that any given one of the celebrity names has a friend of a friend in the general prison population, but with so many names, I'm almost 100% sure that at least one of them does.

What if Epstein isn't the blackmailer but the front for them, then the dynamic becomes the blackmailer closing the mouth of the agent who might start to squeal. This has to be a very very powerful entity or collection of entities, and among them I believe is the Mossad, for whom Epstein provided great leverage and sources. Not to say others weren't also of a mind to shut his piehole, but a high viz prisoner in fed custody, after a recent assault? Seriously, this took power at the highest levels, and perhaps he isn't even actually dead.......an awful lot stops if he is legally dead even if he is still above room temperature somewhere!
#52
Anyway, if those DVDs are encrypted, him being dead surely makes it that much harder to prosecute anyone unless he left the password with someone. Assuming nobody knows who this mystery person is, of course.
Holding office and holding power are two different things.
See the cases of Donald Trump (holds office, but not much power) versus swamp creatures like Obama, the Clintons, Jarrett, etc. (don't hold office, but clearly have plenty of power)
Whoops! Not to mention the sheer number of Constitution-oriented, conservative judges approved at all levels up through the Supreme Court, and more to come.
Some of whom were Obama nominees. And I get a distinct whiff of squish from Kavanaugh.
And I'm a bit of a broken record on this, but I think it's unwise to put too many eggs in the judge basket.
Even the good ones can be compromised or "grow in office" or be Scalia'd.
#48 Fifty to 100 years? I can’t think that far ahead, jpal.
That's fair.
We can't be expected to spend a lot of time contemplating, in great detail, where society is headed over the long haul.
There's work to do, children to raise, bills to pay.
That's why we put statesmen in positions of authority to at least occasionally think about these things.
But that doesn't work when we have a venal, blinkered ruling class whose only talents are getting and keeping power, and enjoying the perks thereof.
Those girls on Epstein Island were somebody's kids and grandkids, after all.

The range of this man's connections is breathtaking. It extends across totally different domains and social circles, from DC to Harvard, from hedge funds to lawyers and British royalty, from elderly scientists to the Clintons.
There is much, much more here than meets the eye.
I predict that this will be the biggest story of the early 20th century for our corrupt and desiccated old Republic.
#60
Compare with the suicide of Ghislaine Maxwells father, Robert Maxwell, another world class ruthless sleazebag up from Nowheresville. He took the ride as far as he could, then when he was found out, slid off the stern of his yacht into the Med in the wee small hours. No consequences for him either, and it was so good while it lasted.
#62
#31 Did the blackmail targets decide they had nothing left to lose and could manage/suppress the release?
Or... did third party deliberately trigger doomsday release? For the lulz, as you crazy kids say, or [dons bent sheet pan helmet] with some higher motive?
[CNSNEWS] Sen. Cory Spartacus Booker U.S. Senator-for-Life from Noo Joisey, formerly the mayor of Newark. Booker is a candidate for president in 2020, running on a platform of Make America Newark. He once wrote an essay on how to grope babes. He is noted for having an imaginary friend named T-Bone... (D.-N.J.) said in a speech at the Emanuel AME Church in Charleston, S.C. on Wednesday that bigotry was written into the founding documents of the United States and that white supremacy has "always been a part of the American story."
"Bigotry was written into our founding documents. Native Americans, in our Declaration of Independence, were referred to as savages," Booker said. "In our Constitution, black people are fractions of human beings.
"White supremacy has always been a problem in our America story," he said. "If not always at the surface, then looking not so far beneath it."

The name Booker means Bleacher. A bleacher is the cheap seat way up in the nose bleed section. Cory is 7% Native American, 47% African, 46% "cracker". But his name is English and most of hïs ancesters are from the East coast.

It was the 18th Century. Women, blacks were sort of non-entities of the times. Get over it, it was the situation in the whole world. The unique thing was those who actually could and would bear arms sort of got the power not their 'masters'.

A multi-volume chronology and reference guide set detailing three years of the Mexican Drug War between 2010 and 2012.
Rantburg.com and borderlandbeat.com correspondent and author Chris Covert presents his first non-fiction work detailing
the drug and gang related violence in Mexico.
Chris gives us Mexican press dispatches of drug and gang war violence
over three years, presented in a multi volume set intended to chronicle the death, violence and mayhem which has
dominated Mexico for six years.
Rantburg was assembled from recycled algorithms in the United States of America. No
