[The Federalist] It’s called "falling in love with your source." I did it, my colleagues did it, intelligence professionals collectively do it, and none of us are ever the better for it.
Skipping a few paras and moving down to what the author believes (and I do not) may have taken place.
According to every FISA expert available to our cable news networks, the FBI was obligated to provide only corroborated, validated information to the FISA court in seeking a probable cause ruling that this American citizen was an agent of a foreign power.
The Desire Was So Deep, It Led to Concealment
The FBI succeeded in obtaining that ruling‐four times‐using, as a central part of their case, the uncorroborated information provided by a source with whom they were deeply, hopelessly in love. They wanted to believe him, so they ignored his warts and imperfections. They wanted the judge to love him as much as they did, so they hid those warts and imperfections from the court.

Mr. Steele and the foreign agency he represented had long sense been judged to be "reliable." The contrived, comic book stories and reporting were just a means to an end.
The "concealment" aspect arose due to the utilization of foreign intelligence source information to gain FISA approval of the monitoring of a US Citizen.
[Free Beacon] A number of liberal Twitter users and journalists spread a conspiracy theory Thursday insisting a Department of Homeland Security document contained a secret Nazi code.
In February, DHS put out a press release entitled "We Must Secure The Border And Build The Wall To Make America Safe Again," a fact-sheet making the case for President Donald Trump's proposed border wall. "When it comes to stopping drugs and illegal aliens across our borders, border walls have proven to be extremely effective," it argued.
The press release went largely unnoticed until months later, when a tweet accusing the document of being a dog whistle for Nazis garnered nearly 7,000 retweets. The viral claim suggested the headline was a reference to "Fourteen Words," common white supremacist credos. The most widely known variation states, "We must secure the existence of our people and a future for white children."
"This is an actual story on an official government website with a 14-word headline starting with ’we must secure,'" Twitter user Lauie Voss noted. "This is not an accident. There are actual Nazis-who-call-themselves-Nazis at DHS."

Sometime the number 88 is just the number of folks being counted. The journalist didn't do any research at all they were so certain they'd discovered some code.
Not sure why we need to be hearing from this crooked bastid about much of anything.
[Breitbart] During an interview with the UK’s iNews, former FBI director James Comey called for more controls on the types of guns and sizes of ammunition magazines sold in the U.S. and suggested the NRA propagates "lies."
iNews quoted Comey indicating he is not for an all-out ban on private on gun ownership, but he does support making changes to current law, including an increase in the legal age for gun purchases. he is not for an all-out ban on private gun ownership just yet
Comey said:
Surely there are things we can agree upon that relate to who’s able to buy a weapon, what kind of weapon and at what age, what the capabilities of the weapon are, how many rounds does it hold, and things like that, that in no way threaten the rights under the US constitution of people to keep and bear arms.
He criticized the NRA as standing in the way of securing these controls, saying, "One of the worst things that goes on in the US is the current voice of the National Rifle Association, because it sells fear in the wake of any incident." He specifically mentioned the NRA’s opposition to the gun controls which were pushed in the wake of the December 14, 2012, attack on Sandy Hook Elementary School.

Comey? In Tom Clancy's techno thriller Rainbow Six they dropped off the bioterrorist bad guys in the Amazonian Jungle with no survival gear. Since Comey is Anti-Gun maybe we could try that with him...?
[Free Beacon] The House Foreign Affairs subcommittee on Africa, Global Health, Global Human Rights, and International Organizations met on Wednesday to discuss challenges in the Republic of Cameroon. Over the past year, the relationship between Cameroon's government and the country's minority Anglophone community has become increasingly violent, accelerating into armed conflict.
Hans De Marie Heungoup, a senior analyst at the International Crisis Group, called conflict in the Anglophone regions "the biggest security threat to Cameroon stability, which if left unaddressed could turn into civil war as has occurred in other African countries," in a statement issued to the subcommittee.
The roots of the current conflict go back to Cameroon's achieving independence almost 60 years ago.
Prior to independence, France and the United Kingdom colonized the territory. French Cameroon became independent in 1960, and one year later part of British-controlled Cameroon joined in a referendum overseen by the United Nations.
[National Review] Legalizing euthanasia can stunt the palliative-care sector. The Netherlands, for example, has traditionally performed comparatively poorly in this field. Indeed, one doctor once infamously said he didn’t need palliative care when he had euthanasia.
Now, in Quebec, the head of provincial medical association ‐ who supports euthanasia ‐ warns that some patients have been forced to "choose" to be killed because they couldn’t access quality palliative care. From the McLean’s story:
Provincial foot-dragging on plans to substantially expand palliative care services is actually denying patients the very choice that was promised in the shift to MAiD, and making it increasingly problematic to discern which patients truly wanted to have a doctor deliberately end their life, [Collège des Médicins President, Dr. Charles] Bernard says.
"In certain identified cases, patients, for the lack of (palliative) care, might have had no choice but to ask for medical assistance in dying to end their days ’in dignity,’ which deeply concerns us," the Collège president tells the minister.
Worse, he adds, the Collège has been hearing increasing concerns from its member doctors about re-direction of already scarce resources from palliative care to medical assistance in dying, which risks a violation of both the letter and the spirit of Quebec’s law governing end-of-life care.
Paint my expression as completely unsurprised. The delivery of proper palliative care requires specialized training and can be very labor intensive. The most difficult cases may demand a great deal of inadequately compensated time from the doctor. Euthanasia doesn’t require anything like that kind of expertise.
[Breitbart] Saturday, Fox News Channel "Justice" host Jeanine Pirro responded to the protests for open borders and people calling to disband U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
Pirro argued the push for open borders is an agenda to "change our country at its very core" and is an attempt to move the country towards socialism.
"Right now in America, there are forces dug in, organized and well-funded doing whatever is necessary to make socialism happen. Today’s demonstrations are part of an ongoing step-by-step agenda to change our country at its very core," Pirro stated.
Pirro pointed out how more socialist Democrats are winning elections throughout the country, adding Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) would have been the Democratic nominee in 2016 had failed candidate Hillary Clinton not been gifted the nominee.
[American Thinker] Speaking at the University of Missouri in Columbia during a 2008 speech, then-Senator Obama said, "We are five days away from fundamentally transforming the United States of America."
Many believe that this fundamental transformation was pursued for the eight years Obama was in office.
Few would say that at the time that a fundamental transformation was already going on in Chicago. For more than fifty years, the Chicago Democrats were using population removal to get votes and guarantee the outcome of elections. Just as an iron curtain once fell across Europe, a red curtain had already fallen across Chicago's 50 wards.
The roots of transformation
What are the origins of this program to transform the nation? The roots of Obama's politics are to be found in the uni-party politics of Chicago. It has been the aim of the national Democratic Party to use Chicago as a model and then impose that political model on the United States.
The Chicago model requires, first of all, population replacement. Population replacement leads to voter replacement and then cultural replacement. Once population replacement is accomplished, voting will eventually reach a point where it becomes irrelevant.
After population replacement, any opposition party to the Democrats can never get enough votes to stop the fundamental transformation of the United States from a constitutional republic to a socialist democracy. Democrats will always have a guaranteed majority once population is replaced. Today, uncontrolled immigration and redefining citizenship are the keystone to unlocking that guaranteed majority.
The ongoing debate over Obama's natural-born citizenship status is an example of how the subject of voting and citizenship is viewed by the Democrats. What should have been a discussion about constitutional qualifications became one about racism.
This accusation of racism nullified the issue in the minds of many, who had a foggy idea about citizenship to begin with. The debate also showed that Democrats want votes no matter where they can get them. They want votes up to the point where votes become irrelevant, as is now the case in most Chicago elections. Emphasis added.

One minor correction if I may. History tells us it's actually not the 'Chicago Model' in the modern era, but rather the Soviet Model. It's uncertain where Soetoro may have borrowed the concept. Uncertain to some at least.

Replace your population with third world folks and your nation will become third world. It's not magic dirt that makes the US prosperous. These liberal folks are really, really, stupid.

...by chipping away at Democrat numbers in every electable category over 8 years of Obama Presidency. Probably not what he wanted but I'll take it over his vision any day.

IIRC. The Ottoman Empire mastered it and you can see their handiwork all through the Middle East. Suppose you have two (2) rebellious tribes then the solution is to seize all of the good farmlands and villages of one of them and force them up into the barren hills. Next, move the other tribe in and give them those lands. Voila! Some Noble is happy that he has the vacated lands as a new fief and the new settlers are forced to become Ottoman loyalists because the displaced tribes all want to come down from the hills and murder them in their beds.
It leaves a countryside pull of ethnicities that all hate each other, but isn't that a plus in the Sultan's books?

Basically, Divide and Rule™ is the strategy. As long as they hate the Republicans, and each other, then the Democrats can count on their future votes.

[NewsWithViews] Mark Twain once wrote that reality always trumps fiction, because, contrary to fiction, reality doesn’t follow any rules. He was right.
If 50 years ago a science-fiction writer would have written a novel in which the Soviet Union turns into a capitalist country and American changes into a carbon-copy of what the Soviet Union was under the Communists’ rule, no publisher would have printed it, because he would have considered the story too farfetched to be credible.
Nevertheless, this is close to what has happened. Let’s see.

Idiot. Got some news for the author. Just like Stalin, Putin owns every piece of property, wealth and person in Russia and can take it away at his whim.

Party Communism and Party Capitalism aren't opposite systems. They're the same system.
[FoxNews] There is nothing more frustrating for a baseball fan than when your team leaves runners on base. If the U.S. Congress were a baseball team, its fan would be devastated to have watched the team leave at least 500 runners on base so far this season.
Just like in baseball, politics is a theoretically team sport. Legislation passed in the House of Representatives must be brought home by the Senate. However, if the Senate refuses to play ball and not even discuss bills passed by the House, they are essentially leaving runners on base and throwing away opportunities to score.
In this Congress, the House has passed more than 500 bills only to see them completely stalled in the Senate. Since election day in 2016 Republicans have seen lots of hits, a few runs, countless errors, and 500 runners left on base. Somebody needs to go back to Spring Training. Is that where the good ol' fundamental is taught - "for the people"?
The lack of progress can largely be placed on a single, outmoded procedural mechanism holding back lawmakers from delivering more achievements ‐ the Senate filibuster. It used to be like in Mr. Smith Goes to Washington, but now it much more like the new-version 'intentional walk'.
The filibuster in the Senate was designed to ensure debate. The practice has become so abused that today it is used to kill debate before it even starts.
President Trump is absolutely right in calling for an end to the filibuster. Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y, seems to be the only one benefiting from the filibuster while Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., is unfortunately stuck as a mere co-pilot. This is not what Americans wanted when they went to the polls in 2016.
According to Pew Research, a majority of the American public believe ’their side’ in politics is losing whether that is Democrat or Republican. Embrace the power of "And".
When Americans voted in 2016 for President Trump and a Republican led House and Senate, they didn’t vote for conservative rhetoric and show votes. They wanted to move the nation in the right direction. It’s past time we gave our citizens the policy outcomes they voted for at the ballot box.

Elections need to have consequences or people will continue to virtue signal with their vote.

he lack of progress can largely be placed on a single, outmoded procedural mechanism holding back lawmakers from delivering more achievements ‐ the Senate filibuster.
A century ago the Progressives decided that the Senate wasn't "democratic enough" and talked people into passing the 17th Amendment (part of the Woodrow Wilson Progressive Wave of Trifecta of the IRS, Direct Senatorial Election, and Prohibition). The Real Objective is to so neuter the Senate that we become a bastard cross between a Republic and a Parliamentary Democracy with all the vices of both.

Now that would would Make The Fillibuster Great Again™! Move the desks into a ring, pull up the carpet and put down fine sand. Arm the Senator with a cudgel and have them defend their fillibuster by force of arms as long as they can. Only serving Senators, mind you!, no substitutes. Do you think it would start a trend towards Term Limits and more youthful Senators?
